I ended Round109 at 173.2lbs vs having reached 166.6lbs before I went offline for a bit. Having made made no serious effort to reach my goals, I achieved the results I worked for.
This is try again time. My goals remain the same.
- get down to165lbs or less and
- complete 1 full hr of exercise each day
04/07. 173.4lbs
04/08. No weigh in today
I'm still bloated with edema because I've been exclusively consuming easy ready eat high carb & high calorie foods.
This is why normally I do not keep these items in the house. Thankfully I am forced to eat better because all I have left is nutritious foods that I must cook.
I'm a total scatter brain right now for all the obvious reasons.
Every few hours I have to talk myself down. Intellectually I know poor decisions in my own life, even if it's just my mini goals, can only hurt me. If ever I've needed to value my health and we'll being it is right now.
This is not the time to slack off. I need to face this new reality with strength. Suck it up. Do what's needed. Be grateful I have the option to pout and snap out of it.
04/09. I have to weigh in later & record it tomorrow.
Today I'm back on time restricted low carb eating; recording my food; & getting things done including exercise. I'm also considering giving in to a water pill to rid myself of this edema.
It's what I get for my dietary sins. Several days of good behavior will fix the problem but I'd prefer a more accurate weight sooner than later.
04/10
04/11
04/12. 172.4
I refuse to enter this weight gain in my "official record". It's been years since I've retained water like this. It's also been years since I've eaten the way I have over the last two weeks. Of course I'm up by six. Foolish eating and too little water will do that to me.
I've decided to avoid diuretics in hope that I'll lose the edema by doing right by myself. Plain water is back as my main beverage. My calories are under control but my carbs are not. Although within my maintenance range, carbs are too high for fat loss.
Time to do some strategic planning. Wing'n it just won't cut it.

GOALS THIS ROUND

- Consistently track calories
- Move throughout the day!
R110 SW 134.0kg
Day | Weight | Change | Comment
04/07 | 133.9kg | -0.1kg | Good day yesterday! Tracked my calories and came in under target. Got 30 mins of exercise in throughout the day. Drank 2.5L+ of water. Ate lots of veggies. Feeling good after ticking off lots of goals for the day!
04/08 | 133.8kg | -0.1kg | Another good day yesterday. Tracked everything, came in just on target (like 20 cals over), got in 30 mins of exercise. Didn't drink enough water but still feeling good.
04/09 | 133.8kg | No change | Still on track yesterday! Really I ate too much bread but still came in right on calorie target. Did 30mins of walking around the house/in place, and drank all the water. At home alone today with the toddler, so movement is a little more restricted throughout the day but we might get out for an afternoon walk if the weather is nice!
04/10 | 133.9kg | +0.1kg | I didn’t track for yesterday but will do that shortly. I know I ate too much and made poor choices though! Got takeaway food for dinner as hubby was home late from his out of town trip. Didn’t get out for a walk with the little one but I did do 5 miles on the stationary bike and some standing ab work while he napped so I still got my 30 mins in. Did well with water. An average day overall! Also had to brave the supermarket with the little one, was pleasantly surprised to find many items back on the shelves!
04/11 | 134.0kg | +0.1kg
04/12 | 134.2kg | +0.2kg | Happy Easter to all! I have indulged in too much chocolate, too much beer, too much sodium, and have not had near enough water in the last couple of days. Feeling a bit down and eating my emotions. Need to do better.
04/13 | 134.3kg | +0.1kg | still not doing better!

Day/Weight/Comment
04/07 135.6 – 10.42 miles walked yesterday & a better day foodwise; 314 calories in credit
04/08 135.6 - 10.35 miles walked yesterday, struggling!
04/09 135.6 – 10.51 miles walked yesterday.
04/10 136.2 – 9.65 miles walked yesterday, Oh my goodness, really need to reverse this trend !! Need to pull myself up and take control, this needs to stop now! Stop all this comfort/anxiety binging, no more chocolate until Sunday and then weigh bits off my egg each day – sigh!!. Don't want to see any higher numbers. Happy and safe Easter to you all.
04/11 136.2 – 9.47 miles walked yesterday. Feeling much happier with myself this morning, stuck to the healthy eating plan and only deviated with a very slightly larger glass of wine than planned, but still within calories; 267 calories in credit, 33 carbs over ( hot cross bun took me over). Hoping this is the “top of the curve” !! Will pre log all foods again today – it helped yesterday. Happy Easter Saturday everyone.
04/12 136.2 – 9.09 miles walked yesterday. Good day yesterday, almost eat all my exercising calories back, but 141 in credit and all other macros in green, plenty water consumed too all through the day, nearly drowned in it !!! Happy & safe Easter Sunday to you all.
04/13 136.2 – 8.5 miles walked yesterday. Still stayed within limits, but did eat nearly all my exercise calories back (it was Easter Sunday), only 28 calories & 33 carbs in credit. Easter bunny (key worker!) did make an appearance, but my egg is safely in the fridge! - I like my chocolate same temperature as my red wine, room temperature! Still feeling good, just need to get those numbers going down again now !! Todays food logged - looking good!

04/16 – my birthday; not celebrating it this year until we can get together with our children & grandchildren again, missing them SO SO much.

** ROUND 110 **
Round # 34 for me
Day/Weight/Comment
04/07 – I ordered another scale—second one ordered within in a year. Returned one ordered last year. I knew this one was giving false readings last year but I changed the batteries and kept using it. I knew I was not losing that much weight again this time again. I was not going to bury my head in the sand this time again, not knowing when I would get on a real scale again to verify my weight. So, this time I made sure the scale was good and long enough for my size 13 men size feet. I thought I was going to miss this round because they claimed scale would not get here until 4/15 unless I paid for next day shipping which I knew was a fib. I received scale on the 9th and weighed in on the 10th and was up 6.2 lbs. was more like it!! And there was not a six-pound spread every time I stepped on the scale. Each time I stepped on the scale it showed the same weight! Like my old scale!! So that made it worth every cent. At least now I have a correct weight to work with. When I am in the 380’s that far I feel like it and I did not feel like it and most of all I was not eating like it and my steps were poor since the coronavirus crisis. I am going to wait six months before I give this scale a rating but so far I am loving it. I just want an honest scale I am very busy this month and I am going to work on de-cluttering my place while I am shut in, so I will not be commenting much after this but I will be checking in as much as possible. Hang in there everyone and please continue to Stay home, stay safe and live. I am praying we all make it thru this crisis.

My journey … "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"In 2003 Weighed over 600 lbs.My highest weight was 611 in 2003. Weight in 2004 before weight loss surgery was 580. Lowest weight after surgery was 302 in 2007. "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"
In 2005 Weighed under 400 lbs.
In 2007 lowest weight after surgery 302lbs
I joined MFP on March 27, 2010 weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.
I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.
Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.
Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.
On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Out Patient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I actually gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and my the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.
My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively everyday. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Everyday I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.
Giving up is not an option for me. Perseverance, Patience, & Positive thinking will help me reach my goals…… and the same is true for you too!! We have the power within us.*One of my major goals is to get my BMI under 40 (260 weight) so I can have surgery on my knees *

Joining late, I have been meaning to lose the last few KG to get down to my 75kg goal. Now nothing is open I thought this would be the perfect time to get there. If you ever feel down and head to the snack draw to get something sweet or something you don't need to eat. Think about the real reason you started this journey in the first place, because when I think about mine it instantly gives me that 'it's not worth it feeling' and I grab a piece of fruit or have a coffee!12 -

4/7- 155.8 I don't think the 8 mile bike ride and frisbee golf with the kids was enough to cancel out the Dairy Queen we got afterward, but it was wonderful and we had a great time.
4/8- 154.4 I didn't eat back my exercise calories yesterday. It shows, but I'm also hungry. How do you get comfortable with the constant hunger?
4/9- 153.6 sweet. Hiked with the kids and then ran another 2 miles too. Hoping this is me pushing through this plateau I've been on a while.
4/10- 153.6 Good. So windy yesterday. Didn't work out. Have to try to be good going into this eating weekend.
4/11-154.8
4/12- DNW
4/13- 157.2- I did nothing but bake and gorge most of the weekend. I rode and ran both days, but that's not enough. Back at it today. Why, why is it so easy to gain 4 pounds in two days, but take forever to get down one?! It's just all about calories. Off to track...

04/13 - 149.7 - That's definitely a carb bloat. Pizza last night because it was a last minute dinner thing. Woke up 3 different times and drained an entire water bottle over those 3 wakeups. Still woke up crazy thirsty, too. I'm hoping today is a little better food-wise, though I still don't have my salads for lunch since I keep forgetting them when I go. BF has been using the veggies in our breakfast which I am happy about. Will have to leave for my work meeting (picking up my work phone so I'm not chained to my computer) before BF gets breakfast going so will be fasting instead. Depending on how long this takes, I should get back just in time for lunch -- not that I have too much here to eat, I'd rather eat at home and save my money. Also depending on how this work phone pickup goes, it should be a nice day and I can plant my beans in the garden finally! Maybe a walk after, too? Time will tell but if nothing else, I'll take garden work.

Previous Day's Comments04/07 - On an uptick today. Had homemade street tacos with the usual fam last night (we help watch their kids [I'm an aunt!! Only child over here, so I am soaking that in] and the hubby is BF's boss so they sometimes have to work together) so hanging out for dinner really isn't violating social distancing any more than any other time of the day we may be assisting. Might as well combine forces and not waste food since we are already there (and total there are 4 adults and 2 children so still less than the 10 person gathering limit). Unfortunately, the food is AMAZING and very easy to overeat. Also desperately need to up my water intake. I've been slacking off horribly. Depending on how today goes, I should have yoga via zoom and I'm about to do some hip thrusts before BF wakes up since my back has been hurting a bit lately (surgeon's orders - keep glutes and hips strong and aligned to reduce pinching of my nerve and so far, it seems to help). Hoping today will be better activity-wise. No rain and temps back in 80s so maybe I can get outside for fresh air and a walk or something.
04/08 - Not even sure why... possibly from a carb-heavy breakfast (homemade biscuits&gravy)? Oh yeah, possibly lunch. Only had a handful, but pizza rolls = no bueno. Also got more water so maybe that? I don't know. Today will be better, I hope. Work says severe thunderstorms today. Everything else I see says tomorrow and Saturday for storms and rain Friday. Its muggy so definitely something moving in. Will need to get outside for fresh air and sunshine before all that! Might venture out to the store (mama made and sent me face masks! Yay for quilters in the family) to stock up on some food and grab salad for me while I'm at it. My Imperfect Produce order is set to arrive today (figured I'd try it -- BF's idea despite him hating most veggies) but will need some leafy greens and protein for salads (mainly lunch as breakfast and dinner BF and I eat together)
04/09 - I'm okay, this is okay, it'll all be okay (trying to convince myself). Homemade lasagna last night and it was GOOD (scale thinks so, too). It had veggies in it, but its still lasagna, all heavy and carby. Imperfect Produce came yesterday. Gotta figure out what in the world to do with it before it all goes bad. Out of eggs and can't get more unless we buy from the store (ugh), and we've had biscuits and gravy for 3 days straight now. I can't do it again today. I didn't make it to the store yesterday so no salad greens, either. Just some avocado, tomatoes, lime, lemons, green bell peppers, green onion, asparagus, mushrooms, oranges, and mangos. If only I had eggs, I'd chop up some of those veggies for a nice omelet with bacon. Went for a short walk to the fam's house yesterday to pick up lunch (they ordered too much and didn't want to waste it) and also did some bodyweight glute exercises in the living room. No walk today as storming all day, but will try to do the bodyweight stuff in the living room. Got water in yesterday and going for that again today. Hopefully today won't be so carb-heavy so I can drop back down. I'm taunting 150 and I never want to see that on the scale again! Absolutely must be good today so I don't wake up to that tomorrow
04/10 - Apparently my post never made it? Sorry if this is a duplicate. Was scared to step on the scale this morning but very happy to see I avoided the 150s for another day. The run seemed to help out since we ordered out at a local favorite burger joint for dinner. It was so good, I DEVOURED it. I'm currently researching homes that can be built (construction or modular) for a piece of land that we found. It seems almost too good to be true and may prove to be when it comes to the stipulations of the VA Home Loan requirements. Either way we go, the land AND whatever dwelling (which meets the VA loan minimum requirements) may be more than I can get approved for. I just hate missing out since getting land around here for less than a million is very difficult, and even more especially getting enough to allow hunting (10+acres). If it doesn't happen, its not meant to be, but its a little stressful as I'm having to do research and learn and call places to get better information before making crazy decisions recklessly.
04/11 - So sad. I couldn't avoid 150 😭 heavy dinner of steak, boudain, okra radish salad, and mashed potatoes. Just too big serving I think. Looking at a house today. It's a now or next year (or longer) because if we can't move in by June (when the lease is up) we have to wait until Dec and that's a horrible time to move. We've moved in Dec 3 years in a row now, we don't want to do it again. And we are nervous that we won't find anything like this (land, bed/baths, and within our price range) for a couple more years and be stuck renting. Possibly kayaking up the river a short bit to fish later tonight.
04/12 - Between the walking, being away from home during lunch so only grabbing a snack (so not to ruin dinner) and eating leftovers (in a much smaller portion), I managed to get back down. Crawfish boil today and I think that will help, as well. Not a lot of meat on those suckers and a lot of work to get to them haha Probably lazy day outside of that. BF is a little grumpy (from last night). No reason for it, but just hit a mood and can't shake it. Fine by me as I'm hurting quite a bit from the storm and pressure change and would rather take it easy today. We put in an offer on the land so we shall see how it goes from here!

04/08 247.8 And back down again. I struggled a little yesterday morning due mostly to stress, but I realized that my way of eating was the single biggest thing I can control right now. That thought helped a lot and kept me on track. I thought I would share it in case it might help anyone else. Hang in there everyone.

Day/Weight/Comment
04/07 - 156.3 - Fluctuation, hope to see a better number tomorrow.
04/08 - 155.5 - better, but still slightly more than last round EW
04/09 - 155.2
04/10 - 156.3 - Argh, I had more than 1,000 calories left on the tracker because I had so much exercise/activity yesterday. Hoping for a better number tomorrow (sounding like a broken record)
04/11 - 156.7
04/12 - 155.7
04/13 - 156.3 - There is that number again. I am not going to stress about it (well, I will try not to) because I am right on track. I am working out more than usual with the extra time on my hands and eating well within my limit. I expect a drastic drop soon.
