@KeriA Great return for your persistence. It's great they were offering what you need for free. WTG!!
@CupcakeCrusoe I like your goal of treating yourself in ways other than food. I'm treating myself on Saturday as a ME day ... no cleaning, no exercise, etc ... just doing stuff that pleases me.
@procolorer congrats on your weight loss!!
@BeUncommon Not Vikings ... my addiction of choice is Outlander!!
@Terytha Did you take pictures at your heaviest? Or measurements? If so, do again and then compare. Side-by-side may surprise you. Or, a pair of pants from your heaviest? Our minds can sometimes "see" what we think it should see ... the old you ... instead of the new thinner you.

Hello, my stuff
Name: Annie
Age: 59 11/12
Starting weight: 14st 7lb (203lb)
Goal weight: 11st 6lb (160lb)
May weight loss goal: 8lb
My promises to myself this month.
1) I will either cycle, walk, or run every day. If, on good days, I do more than one of these activities I will see that a bonus. If, on the other hand, I find myself doing none, I will hold myself accountable here (no excuses). On days when I complete the one activity, I will be happy for myself.
2) I will complete either a tummy workout or a Smart Girls Do Dumbbells workout every day. If I do both, that will be a bonus. If I do neither, I will be accountable. When I do one, I will be happy.
3) I will eat normally, as I do, but mindfully. I know that I have to watch how much I eat, what I eat, and why I eat.
4) I will not beat myself up for any reason. I am not stupid, ugly, useless, hopeless. I am just me. Doing what I do the best way I can.
5) I will start an mfp blog.

Weigh in Day!
5/1 - 233
5/8 - 233
Seems like I'm still going to be trying for a baby. I never lose anything right before I start and right before ovulation. I typically lose in a woosh the week after. So hopefully next week, I'll see a difference. I know I haven't eaten to maintain and the loss should come shortly. PCOS and hormones make this so dang difficult. But... onwards to next week.
Sunday is going to be rough for me, so I'm hoping to keep the emotional eating in check and at least within maintenance. I've got some cheesecake coming But I'll be keeping the rest of the day pretty light.
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!4 -
I won't be eating lunch because half my mouth is still numb, but I have my tooth repaired and am on antibiotics for the infection. And I have a care plan to get the poverty-caused neglect of my oral health dealt with, and we can afford it, and so all is well.
I think I'm going to nap while the numbness wears off. It's annoying.8 -
@smithmns414
We’re TTC too! Who ever knew it would be so difficult?!
Tried this cauliflower crust pizza for lunch today and it was really good! Would definitely buy it again- around 390 calories for the whole thing and an easy grab n go meal!

GOALS:
🏵️ Continue with my C25K program (currently on week 3).
🏵️ Try to incorporate a fruit or veggie in every meal.
🏵️ Lose at least 5 pounds
🏵️ Hit Active every single day this month per Apple Watch
🏵️ Be present with my family (i.e. put down my phone)
🏵️ Read at least 4 books this month (it helps with my stress)
I have to admit, I was expecting more of a loss this week as I have been doing everything to a "T," but I am not going to punish myself. I know the scale will catch up and in the interim, I know I am being good to myself, body and mind. Tomorrow is my last day of week 3 of C25K and I know next week really picks up the minutes run so I am getting nervous. Actually, my anxiety is in overdrive. I am worried about being overweight and covid complications, and it just manifests in lack of sleep and being in a poor mental state. Exercise is the one thing that gets me out of that head space.
I hope you all continue to do well!

Looks like some good weigh-in days.
@Terytha You should be seeing the loss already. Often it takes a while to tighten up things after weight loss.
@cesse47 have a great day tomorrow.
@AlexandraFindsHerself I am glad you have gotten the tooth taken care of and hope you feel better soon.
Good day, got my exercise in and made a yummy quiche. My daughter loves them but usually not mine. I think I try to make them too healthy but she loved this one. I put some half and half in. It had a lot of spinach. I do not plan to do any cooking this weekend. I will leave it to my husband. I helped plan so he has what he needs. I have been just hovering at my low weight but not going lower even with good weekly deficits. I am eating more calories than when I was losing last month so that could be it. But I wasn’t really eating enough some days then. That is okay for a while if you eat when you are hungry but I was waiting longer to eat then. Lately I find if I don’t get enough I feel too weak to cook dinner.

I usually read a book a week or more. It is how I relax too. I think there are quite a few readers here. I have nothing against TV or videos but I just forget to watch much.2 -
Terytha > That is fantastic loss! you are doing great Not to sure what VR is? Do you actually feel better and can you tell within yourself the loss you have had? If you feel better and can notice the changes it doesn't really matter. I feel the same way as you but I have hundreds of lbs to still lose and I have lost 65lbs so far! It is not that noticable on me because of my size but I can sure feel that loss.
Even though you say you cannot see it. I bet people that have not seen you in awhile would certainly see it We are our own worst critics! Keep up the amazing work!
Ceese > Ohh I love the vikings I do like Outlander as well though, I do have to catch up on quite a few episodes as I stopped watching it for a time.. maybe the last season.
wholebygrace > Yeah I have had that, expecting more loss but if you are doing excercise then you may be losing inches more than pounds. You have to remember that muscle weights more than fat and just because you are not seeing it on the scale does not mean it isn't coming off.
It is good that reading books is on your list to help you de-stress. Stress and worry can also affect your progress. I understand you being worred being overweight and covid. I am classed as Morbidly Obese (hate that bloody word) and I also have respiratory issues, sleep apnea, diabetes among other things.. If I were to catch covid I would never survive it! it is scary.. just take one step at a time. If you have to go out be careful. You got this!! you can do it
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend My weigh in day is Sundays so fingers crossed
Leaving you with a nice bright image I took a couple years ago as it is a nice day here today

I had my loss early on this week, then fluctuated with a pretty intense work week and some nights of poor sleep again. Caught up on sleep yesterday and last night and my weight finally was back down this morning. Switching to a Saturday morning weigh in for this month.
Hoping to reduce sodium intake this coming week and drink plenty of water and hopefully get good sleep!
Our stay at home order ended yesterday and my work place may reopen in another week or two. It feels like a light at the end of the tunnel, but at the same time I worry that cases will rise again and we will have to go right back to a stay at home order. Time will tell - trying to stay optimistic!
Have a great weekend, everyone!3 -

last week lost barely one pound, this week 5 ... guess my body is playing catchup. Yea!
Today is ME day ... no chores, no cleaning, nothing resembling work of any kind. Going to do only fun stuff like read a book, watch TV, etc. And, plan to order from a restaurant (no dine-in open as yet) and maybe even have a glass or two of wine!!
Enjoy your day!7 -

Our stay at home order has been extended to the end of the month. My state is opening some work categories each week in a gradual reopening. Just trying to hunker down and not get anxious. I do miss the freedom of jumping in my car to run an errand or to go out somewhere to have fun ... but, better safe than sorry right now. Being retired I don't have the added stress of being out of work, waiting for my workplace to reopen, etc. Hang in there!4 -

Reader here as well. Hadn't had a TV for several years. When my granddaughter moved in, she also moved in several TVs so have one in the Living Room again. So this season I get to watch Outlander on a large screen TV instead of on my PC screen. Yea!! Using WiFi, I can log onto Netflix and watch a movie once in a while but my favorite is still reading.4 -
@Cesse good weigh-in! I love the day you planned for yourself! Enjoy it! Especially the wine, it's been 6 weeks since I've had a glass due to no sales of alcohol here!
@Tarzan37 Glad, you went down! It must be a little scary not knowing what will happen when everyone goes back to reality but I'm starting to think we just can't hide away from this virus! Just keep washing your hands and keeping your distance.
It's a beautiful day here, I've just finished my powerwalk and going to walk outside with my son soon. We are going to braai (barbeque) I've counted the calories so it fits into my plan. I hope you are all enjoying your weekends.5 -

Good Luck with your weigh-in tomorrow. Thanks for sharing that lovely picture.2 -
I'm Karen (but not a "Karen" lol). I'm not new to MFP, but have a renewed interest in health after my husband had a health scare that thankfully, turned out to be nothing. It did serve as the gentle tap on the shoulder that he and I both have the time and the chance to make some changes in our health.

I'm so very happy to be out of the 300's! I haven't seen the 100's since somewhere around 1993, but that's the goal. I have significant knee pain, which is already beginning to ease with cutting down on my sugar intake and dropping some weight. Looking forward to experiencing all the positives that come along with weight loss!6 -
@supersparklyk welcome! Glad your knee pain is already seeing some relief!
Today I was looking at recipes on Pinterest and kept seeing different recipes with avocado that looked so good I had to have it. Sent the hubby to the store and we’re going to make turkey, bacon avocado grilled wraps using carb counter tortillas. I’m salivating just thinking about it. Also had him grab some Enlightened ice cream. I loved it last year when I did WW and knew I needed a smart sweet to keep going!
Way to go to everyone this week!5 -

I'm considered an essential employee so have been lucky to continue working during this time. We have not been open to the public though and have also not had our volunteers in to help for almost two months now. It's our busiest time of the year, so it has definitely added to the stress - along with just going into a work place daily where now one of our coworkers has had the virus. Anyway, yes - hanging in there!

I LOVE avocados and eat at least a quarter of one every day - usually sliced on a sandwich or turkey burger. Yum!
3 -
@Tarzan37 I love to eat them on turkey burgers-that’s the first thing I ever had them on. I can’t seem to eat a whole avocado which makes me feel so wasteful! I finally managed to get my husband interested in them as well (by making him eat one on a turkey burger)!3
-
@supersparklyk Welcome Since I've been doing stretches and chair yoga every day, I've noticed my knees and ankles are not as achy as they were before. Hopefully they'll continue to improve as I lose more weight. Nice to have you join us ... You CAN do this!!5

We usually use half on salad or sandwiches ... then dice the other half into salsa and use with scoop chips.3 -

Lowest April weight: 253.8
May SW: 254
CW: 253.6 (5/9)
GW: Onderland 1st, maintain for a few weeks then 150 lbs.
May Goal weight: 249
My May Goals are:
1. Get enough sleep and improve water intake Saturday ✔
2. Log weight, food and exercise and stay under calorie goal ✔
3. Get some exercise 6 days a week and up NEAT clean. Try to exceed 150 minutes of exercise a week. so far so good
4. Get into the 240s this means my highs and lows get and stay below 255
5. Make healthy meals at home. ✔
6. Each week do a SKS feedback on what is working and what isn’t look into what food journaling might look like. maybe today
I have been hovering at my lowest weight but today it seems to be starting to come down a bit. We'll see if it continues. So I decided to do a check-in. Besides logging and keeping to my calorie goal no have to's this week end.5 -

I started to read the Outlander series and got tired of the torture which seemed like S&M to me so I stopped . Is the Netflix series like that too?1 -
April ending weight: 240
5/2: 240.5
5/9: 239
Definitely pleased to see this number. I have been in the 230s in YEARS, I know I will probably bounce around between 239-240s until I am a bit farther in the 230s, but I am still excited to see that number. I also realized I never set May goals!
Following @CupcakeCrusoe statement last month, I am not giving myself an exact number to meet, just to be below 240 at the end of the month. I found that I was much kinder to myself versus when I gave myself an exact number and failed to meet it.
May Goals:
*Weigh below 240lbs
*Start to regularly exercise again; at least 3-4x per week
*Track/log food everyday--when not in the system, estimate6 -
@procolorer Thank you!
@cesse47 Thanks! I've started doing some stretches - too soon to know if it's helping my knees. I find that sugar really exacerbates inflammation, so that's been a big factor.1 -
@KeriA, that sounds like an extremely productive day, I'm glad you were able to access the software. And great loss!
@CupcakeCrusoe, I hope the pizza and moscato was tasty! I also have a hard time relaxing if I know there is stuff around the house that I need to do, but I hope you were able to! I started watching The Blacklist at one point and I just fell off.I'm currently binging CSI.
@procolorer, nice loss! I am also a diet soda drinker, my favorite is Coke Zero. I wish I liked avocado, it seems to have so many health benefits, I hope your meal turns out tasty!
@BeUncommon, thank you! It was quite an encouraging feeling, I plan to get a workout in tonight. I have seen that show before, it really is amazing what they can do with houses.
@Terytha, TOM is the worst, I purposefully avoid the scale otherwise I just get discouraged. And sometimes it can take our brain awhile to catch up to what our bodies look like. I know some people say that progress photos can help so you have something to look at side by side? That might be an option.
@cesse47, Hope you have a great "Me" day, and nice loss! And thank you for the encouragement
@Anniejazz, love all the promises, welcome
@smithmns414, sending hugs.
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971, hope your mouth is feeling better!
@wholebygrace, great work with C25K,that is not an easy program! I finished it at one point, and I remember the increase in jogging versus walking is an adjustment.
@Tarzan37, hope the work adjustment is smooth, and great loss!
@changeforeverlj, that sounds yummy, enjoy!
@supersparklyk, it's great that your knee pain is already lessening! Welcome4 -

Goals for May:
1) Reach my goal weight!! - On track
2) Keep logging - Check
3) Get 10000 steps/day - Check
4) Finish a 9 mile run - I did it!
5) Stay well - Check
I'm feeling both exhausted and proud, having actually accomplished a 9 mile run this morning. This is the highest mileage I have ever done. I was kind of scared about being able to do it, and had to do a lot of self-talk along the way to keep going, but one thing that kept me motivated to keep running at mile 8 was being able to post here that I had done it!
No loss this month, but it's fine. I've lost fat. The weight will follow soon.12 -
I don't have progress photos. But I do have a pair of size 22 jeans I wore last year when they fit perfectly. So I had husband take this picture for me.
It's quite the difference!17
