What are you going into surgery for? (If you dont mind me asking). I am going to put on the list shortly for another knee replacment. I have had my left one done but now my right knee is bone on bone.. very painful but not looking forward to the surgery as I am not that happy with my left one!

After decades of struggling with breathing issues and numerous sinus infections ... a specialist has finally diagnosed me with a badly deviated septum and enlarged turbinates. The right side is almost entirely blocked.

That explains so much! Like why, when I get colds, I am so miserable and feel like I'm drowning, why I wake up coughing most nights, why desensitisation for allergies didn't work as well as I had hoped it would, etc. etc.

So I'm having my septum straightened and getting my turbinates reduced. :)

The specialist doing the surgery said something along the lines of "pity this wasn't done a long time ago!" And I've had to wonder why no one noticed it before ... 53 years old and it's only been discovered now! I've had three specialists look at it in the last few months (because I started in the public system and then moved into the private system) and all of them just look up my nose and can see the problem. But maybe GPs don't know what they're looking for.

Hubby helped me figure out my calories... cake mix box scanned it gave me only the box mix after all ingredients are in..but I didn’t use those ingredients. Frustrating but we got it figured out finally. Had to add a different cake mix type then all ingredients separately. We decided no icing. So technically it’s a warm brownie lol 😂. Cake with no icing.

Did HIIT 2,3,4 DVD. Not bad. The plan for tomorrow is to do Jeanette Jenkins Core Stretch DVD.

Did anyone else get a friend request from a BillieOldish? Whenever I get a friend request from a man, I just automatically delete it. However, the profile says this is a woman. Yet, I tried searching for posts from this person and nothing came up.

I’m thinking that I should buy some meat in bulk and freeze it. I already have another package of chicken in my freezer

Happy Mother’s Day to all you awesome women! I got taken out to WalMart and Michael’s. Aren’t I lucky? Vince needed some medication and I finally got him to go thru things and we need a new picture frame. Still haven’t gotten him to get rid of things. For some reason, and please don’t ask me to explain it, when we went to Europe about 5 years ago we got some Rick Steve’s books. If we ever go again, we’ll want new ones since days/times of things will have changed. But for some unknown reason, Vince wants to keep the old ones. He wants to keep his old textbooks. I got rid of most of mine. I figure after almost 50 years, a lot of the information in them will be outdated. So I got rid of them. Also, not like I ever really looked at them. Now I have looked at my typing and steno books.

It’s been well over 50 years since my mother has passed. I can barely remember her. Time does that, you know?

Tonya – my neighbor was in Afghanistan for 6 months and then didn’t know when he could come home . He was there another month. Fortunately, he came home last week. He’s self-quarantining.

Made some more banana chocolate chip cookies for Vince and got the rub on the chicken so it’s marinating. Vince said he’d grill later tonight.

SuziQ – I won’t see my children, either. Oh well….there have been lots of years when I haven’t, so it’s nothing new

Tomorrow will be my running around day. I’ll drop something off at a friend’s house, drop something else off at another friend’s house, make a donation to the Salvation Army (at least this time there is still room in my car!) and then maybe go to the yarn store to see what I need for the Christmas tree skirt. I know I need a certain type of yarn, but I’m not sure what type. Yes, the yarn store is open. Don’t ask me to explain it

I had an exciting Mother’s day. I got taken to WalMart so Vince could get his nasal spray, went to Michael’s to get a picture frame, and then, surprise of all, I got taken to Lowes Hardware for hardware to hang pictures. Interesting story about one of the pictures: we’re going to hang up pictures we have of family members. There’s one of Vince’s paternal grandparents and behind that picture (that’s what we needed the new frame for) there was another picture. We THINK it’s of his paternal grandmother but we can’t be sure. The shape of the face looks the same, the eyes look the same. But then again…it could be a sister. We have no idea if she had any sisters or anything.

Yesterday NC started opening. Some non essential retail businesses are open with strict rules about social distancing and drive in church services are now allowed. Then in 2 weeks if everything goes well more things will be open. We shall see how it goes. Libraries are also open with limitations. You can only stay there for an hour.

    Drkatie – lovely hair cut.

Dore – welcome. Everyone here is very supportive and no one judges anyone else. I know you’ll love it.

Vince grilled chicken for us to have this week, a steak for him to have, and then some fish for later in the week.

Does ANYBODY have a hubby that will do things the first time you ask them???? Not I, that’s for sure. About the 70th maybe

Vince is installing a new light fixture on our stairway to the basement. Mainly because he didn’t like the one that was there. Personally, I didn’t have a problem with it.

I didn’t know that haggis is banned in the US!!! I would never have thought of it.

    Australia's plan ...

Here in Tasmania, each of the steps is about 4 weeks apart to enable Tasmania to see what kind of impact there is. 4 weeks is about enough time for people to catch and show signs of the virus ... if that is what's going to happen.

He has more than one chronic illness—MS and diabetes. I need to stay healthy so that I don’t give him a disease. I also stay healthy for my own benefit. :star:

I was a bit surprised you were trying to encourage your DH to go into a store ... wouldn't it be better if he were at home until you've had no new cases in your area for a couple weeks?

:)Dore, I hope you will keep coming back. I found the support and encouragement I needed by showing up here every day. Now, reading this thread is as important to my daily routine as brushing teeth and washing hands.

:)Tonya, One thing I like about this thread is that you can share endlessly about what's important to you. You will always have an audience. If anyone is not interested, they'll skim through but no one will ever criticize or roll their eyes at you.

:)Heather, I agree that finding a class or forum online about creating a website is a great idea. You have probably already started brainstorming and making a list of what you want to have on the website. Take baby steps and you'll achieve your goal.

:)Barbara, What I wanted for Mothers Day is nothing and that's exactly what I got--no flowers, no candy, no "thing" to hang on the wall or put on the shelf. A perfect day.

:) And for the proofreaders---the caption on my picture should have said "Bernie hopes for food"

Oh, Barbie, I am laughing at myself right now. When I read the caption on your picture, I did a double-take and thought, "WTH? Barbie wrote that caption? No way…"

    Machka,
I would love for DH to do some of the shopping & errands. He didn’t want to go in the store so he stayed in the car. I wish he felt good enough to go in with me. I’d have enjoyed his company.

But isn't it dangerous for him?

My husband stopped taking the bus or walking to shops some time ago. Occasionally, we'll drive or walk together, but only if the places are very quiet. If they are at all busy, he stays outside and I zip in and out as quickly as possible. And we haven't been to the shops in 11 days now.

    Welcome newbies

5th day of seriously keeping the calories in control. lost the bloat but not sure if any actual fat has gone. Nevertheless will soldier on, maybe cut the carbs even more, they are my downfall.
