Started the 10K training program this week (at week 9 as had finished C25K) . I just couldn't figure out why running 4 x 10 minute segments was harder than running a single 30 minute segment. Until my son pointed out that we were actually running 40 minutes, not 30. Just running for a third longer then . . .
And to think, I used to be good at maths . . . this is clearly the effect of trying to support two teenagers with their maths GCSEs. A fuddled brain. Or maybe that's just the affect of children?
But, that aside, my Garmin thingy logged my training sessions this week as RUNNING instead of walking!
Secondly . . . my husband, whom I've been with for nearly 32 years, told me for the FIRST TIME EVER, that he thinks that I am beautiful! My husband is not one to be particularly complimentary about anyone, I know that and accept that. But to be told, after a relationship of almost 32 years (11,616 days if you're counting) that your husband, who has seen the very best and very worst of you, thinks that you are beautiful, is just astonishing. He didn't even tell me that on our wedding day and I know that I looked okay, I have photos to prove it! When we met I was larger than I should have been, ended up putting on weight after having children, so he's not really known me as a more "normal" size. Needless to say, I am still basking in that compliment and will carry that one with me forever. I don't think he has any idea that his comment meant so much to me.35 -

Congrats! It must feel incredible to see your body getting stronger and more fit!
And what a sweet compliment! If I were you I’d tell him how much that compliment meant to you, I’m sure that would make him feel really good too! And then maybe he’ll do it again soon 😉7 -
I made muffins...then forgot all about them!13

I've been absolutely exhausted lately, and tested positive for very low vitamin D. The doctor put me on a supplement and told me to get outside for some exercise, as much as I can manage.
Well, today I went outside for the first time in 11 weeks that was further than the end of my driveway. Timed it so I avoided people and got a little run in. Didn't have a panic attack either.
I can't tell you how tiring it was to do that little run, but it was a big victory for me.29 -
My mom unearthed my old Girl Scout stuff from elementary school. I tried on my old vest from 4th grade (which fit back then) and it still fits nicely now. Needs an ironing, but I might wear it for Halloween haha.

Going from 'poor' cardio fitness to 'average' on my fitbit18

I walked so much in a two week period that I could have walked from my wife's hometown in the Netherlands almost to Brussels. Putting it into a scale like that really hit home!24

I’m eating much healthier food and enjoying cooking more. So much better than eating junk food for dinner because I didn’t want to cook. I feel so much better.13

My charm bracelet, which I couldn't take off without opening the clasp, is now so loose it can slip off if I'm not careful. Yah for thin wrists!
I'm usually exercising 5-6 days a week, although less often if my knees hurt. According to my Fitbit Alta HR, which registers heart rate, I've lowered my resting heart rate from about 72 to 66 and my cardio fitness range for my age is now in the excellent range.14 -
I ran 120.8 miles in May!25

My second leg day since my gym opened back up, and first day I was able to use the squat rack again. The first leg day back, both racks were in use and people like to hog them and do split sets for 45 minutes.
I'm not quite where I was before COVID shut everything down, but I'm a lot stronger still than I expected myself to be. Especially for 7 months pregnant!12 -
I've done a lot of yoga over lockdown. I think I've made progress, as I can now do crow and headstand. Both were beyond before,13

I got another one in just a day. I bought this really cute dress a while back. It has zero stretch in it. It’s a UK 12. I thrifted it, so I decided to get it even though I couldn’t quite breathe in fully with it zipped up. Now, it gapes around the ribs, which is where it was tight before.
PS this phone is pretty new and I’m just discovering the joys of portrait mode.

This is lame but I literally just started to take my goals seriously again. Today is day one and I'm proud of myself for taking matters into my own hands and starting this thing!!30

Went kayak fishing this weekend and my life jacket felt a little loose, went to tighten it and ended up cinching it down all the way! Any more significant changes to my body and I will need a new one!16

Walked an average of 25k steps a day for all of last week and got four separate 30 minute HIIT workouts in. More fitness time on hands since I can work from home and not commute 1.5hrs each way;)
Also, I am proud of making smarter grocery choices that allow me to practice healthier food routines.18 -
I just got through an immensely stressful time in my life and was able to stick to my calorie budget and my exercise plan at home. If I can manage with this, I can manage through anything!17
-
I made it through one of the hardest weeks of my life and my community’s life without bingeing. I also have been so much stronger and more flexible during yoga. I could hold my high plank and down dog infinitely longer than I could two months ago today!25

Dug out last summer’s capris and shorts from the ironing pile where they’ve sat since last September 😬. Ironed a pair and put together a cute outfit, only to find the pants looked like a sack. Two of the slimmer cut pairs still fit, but the others are not flattering. Almost all of the shorts are now riding super low and are really baggy in the behind/hips too.
Ordered the next size down in the shorts, but need to go try on some capris. Don’t believe the next size down could realistically fit.18 -
1000 days of logging today and I've not gone over my calorie allowance once in those thousand days. Well, I did a couple of times, but went right out and earned enough calories exercising to pull myself back under again before the end of the day. That was early on too. Not had to do that for a couple of years.26

I recently fit into my honeymoon dress from 11 years ago! I've had two babies and could never even pull it up over my mama hips. But I tried it on a whim last week, and now it's almost too big!! I was ecstatic 😁

Hauled my lazy *kitten* out to run yesterday... it was a run and it happened... was it as far as I wanted? fast as I wanted? No. and No. But it is DONE. Rinse/repeat tomorrow.25

That's amazing: well done!

Even when I sag my abs, I can't see my belly past my bustline any more. To see my belly, I have to slouch and curve my spine. Woo! I've had a belly that stuck out further than my bustline for years, so this is huge!23

The smaller clothes I bought last summer are bagging. I couldn’t stand it any more. Gathered my mask and my courage and went to the outlet mall this afternoon.
I bought all XS shirts and size 2 pants. Two summers ago I was struggling to squeeze into 22 and 24w.
And to top it off, the outlet mall is hurting so bad, they almost paid ME to take the stuff away.
Ladies and gents, if you find yourself in my boat, everything was 60-80% off, and all three stores I went to gave me an additional discount at the register. Lots of lookers, few buyers. 😢Good for me. Bad for the economy.

100 day login streak today
Progress is slow, but the fact that I am still at it and enjoying finding healthier habits is success in itself, even if the scale still has some catching up to do.
And bought a smaller sized top today to wear for an upcoming extended family photoshoot. I quite like slightly baggy tops, so most of my existing ones are fine for everyday, but think I need something not so shapeless for the photos (and I had a voucher that was expiring so it was a good time to get it)15 -
My wife told me I look like Huck Finn when I wear my old clothes.16

A few recent NSV's for me. I got into a pair of pants from REI that I have not been able to fit in for about 5 years. My favorite summer work dress from last year that was more "bodycon" is now actually flowy and I don't have to wear shape wear under it to avoid pantylines. I have been strong and consistent in my 5x5 routine and I literally feel stronger than I have in 20 years after just a few weeks.21

Today's NSV. Just ran my first half-marathon distance - and managed a time of 1hr 41 minutes as well!
