05/28 - 61.9kg, an unexpected drop! Is it sustainable, would be amazing if it was...

06/01 - 62.2kg, whaaaugh! Food choices limited while camping and too much rain to do any walking :-/
06/02 - 62kg, better, not just hoping for better tomorrow but doing the hard work
06/03 - 61.7kg, that's great, but there's been lots of bouncing around lately so not sure if this is sustainable

    WELCOME TO JUNE
    🌻🥀🌸🌹🥀🌼🥀🌹🌸🥀🌻

    #norniron #stayingsafe@home

    Looking forward:
I'm just too danged cussed to let this thing knock me back, and ruin all the effort I have put in to get here. I am stepping up my routine, and taking control. Sheltering in place means I can fully concentrate on getting in my exercise, and preparing healthy food.
    • June: focus on maintaining and increasing my progress
    • 2020: Goal is to stabilise weight around 145
    • Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
    • Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
    • Cut down on eating between meals by keeping busy

Never give up! Never give in!
    Back Story:
    Spoiler
2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅
2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ So far, so good.
That's a WIN in my book!
    2020
Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.
    Spoiler
    • Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
    • A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
    • Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
    • The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
    • Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
    • The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
    • When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
    • Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!

@heffalump2014 - I've used two different ways to post. You can create your post on notepad or a word document and then just update it every day and copy and paste it here or you can find your last post, hit the quote button and edit it with your new information from the reply screen.
    Thank you !!

Thank you so much for the kind and supportive words. Focusing on gratitude and pushing myself to feel uncomfortable feelings. Distracting myself with work and ice cream just isn't sustainable. If it was, I'd surely keep on doing it though! 😂

Nice, I’m glad you made it. The oats definitely give it that stickier texture, so I can see how it wouldn’t be for everyone. I’m happy you tried it though and that your hubby loves them at least.

@kblanc14 - I've reversed my opinion on the flourless apple bread after I fetched a piece out of the freezer to have after my walk today; for me freezing it first is obviously the answer, it takes the stickiness away and it is so delicious!! It's a hit from me!!
I'm doing a socially distanced afternoon tea in my garden for my gluten allergic sister next week; they are so going to be served to her as one of the sweet treats.

Thank you so much for sharing the recipe xx
