Good morning everyone! Happy Sunday!
My weigh-in day is Saturday, but I left town yesterday without posting, so here goes...
I think I jinxed myself last week when I said that I knew the days would come where my loss would need to be measured in tenths of a pound. It could also be the huge plate of Pad Thai I ate Thursday night. When I asked the waitress about the calorie content, she shook her head, smiled and replied "Just treat yourself."
SW: 312 (4/15/20)
5/9: 294
5/16: 293
5/23: 292
5/30: 289
6/6: 286.8
6/13: 286.3
End of June GW: 283
UGW: 160
I'll be working out of town most of this coming week, so my goals are:
Meal prep my breakfasts for the week
Stay on track with calories and logging
Keep a calorie deficit
Maintain minimum of 5,000 steps per day
Use the hotel fitness room

As usual, I will post next week's menu. Some of this may be impacted by getting more deep cleaning on Monday, and having a sore jaw for the next two days.
Monday: Lunch: Chicken (and jalapeno) quesadilla.
Dinner: Bifstek alla Florentina, rice pilaf, parsley mini potatoes, creamed spinach. Rolls.
Tuesday: Lunch: Hamburgers and chips, pickles.
Dinner: Hunan chicken, mixed Chinese vegetable medley, rice/cauliflower rice. Hot and sour soup.
Wednesday: Lunch: Ham and Beans, cornbread muffin. (I will have a leftover hamburger.)
Dinner: Char sui pork with hot mustard, fried rice/cauliflower rice, crab rangoons.
Thursday: Lunch: Pulled pork on buns with chips and pickles.
Dinner: Spaghetti and meatballs, pan-seared zucchini, garlic bread.
Friday: Leftover cleanup lunches
Tacos, rice and beans.
Saturday: Lunch: Hot dogs
Dinner: Lamb gyros, with tzatziki sauce and onions and feta cheese on pita bread.
Sunday lunch: Burritoes to order
Dinner: Sausage and eggs and potatoes and toast.

@AlexandraFindsHerself Nice work out plans. Yum Hot and Sour Soup my favorite!
@orangequilt glad to hear it is going well in quarantine so far.
@pamiede congrats getting into your goal pants and size 10 shorts!
@Tarzan37 glad you are feeling better and hope June turns around for you.
@BrownSugar174 that is an accomplishment.
@micwrites it has been a long time since I have had a Cosmopolitan. I can make margaritas or gin and tonics at home. I think you will have a great next decade
@speyerj Glad you’re feeling and doing better
@mmccloy12 Salmon may be higher calories than you thought but it gives you that good fat that is good for you and even weight loss. My weight loss is going slow too.
@CupcakeCrusoe I always get a chuckle when I read your posts. Like the probably juxtaposed with the logging accurately .
@supersparklyk My daughter got take out Ethiopian food. You are supposed to eat it with the injera (bread) so that slowed me down this weekend.
I needed to get some exercise this weekend since I missed Monday but then Saturday I decided cleaning was good. We were cleaning because my daughter is going to invite her boyfriend over soon. They haven't seen each other since their university went on line. He lives with his uncle only who is older than we are so they have been really good about social distancing. So we decided we would expand our social bubble now. They are doing their Capstone (senior project) together this summer. That is how they met working on a class project together. However I was glad when my daughter who has only gone on 1 walk this spring quarter wanted to go for a walk. I can attest to the fact that Puget Sound is still there. I realized when I looked at it that even though I knew that intellectually, emotionally I felt a sense of wow it is still there. It was a very beautiful day and we got in a long walk, fresh air, sun and realized a favorite bakery/cafe/espresso bar was open so we got a treat on the way home. So I got in my exercise for the week. I think the best part exercise-wise is that my knee never felt uncomfortable although we walked for longer than we do on our neighborhood walks.7 -
@KeriA Puget Sound is gorgeous, sounds like a great walk!
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 Ooh, I haven't made gyros in a while, and I love doing that... thanks for the idea!
I biked to the grocery store and back today! I only almost got clipped once, because some people don't know how to peacefully coexist with bikes on the road. Oh well. Exercise wise, it's a good workout- hard, but not so hard that I thought I couldn't do it at any point. And with some weight with actual groceries next time, it'll be a little more challenging.8 -
Monday Check-in
SW 230.78 lbs (16/03/2020) 104.9 Kgs
25/05 92.5 Kgs 203.5
1/06 90.9 Kg 199.98 (-3.52 lbs) (-1.6 Kgs)
8/06 90.4 Kg 198.88 - (1.1 lbs) (-0.5Kgs)
7/06 89.2 Kg 196,24 –(2.64) (-1.2 kgs) Happy with my loss!
@CupcakeCrusoea Well done on your bike ride to do your shopping! Some drivers just don't give way properly, a few years ago there was a huge outcry in our Country when a very famous cyclist was killed on the road, people were outraged (rightly so) its a little better, but still you have to be so careful (it's a bit like the wild west on the roads!
@KeriA good news about your knee not playing up when you went for your walk, and glad you got your coffee treat!
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 Love all your meal planning! I decide on the day! Gyros are a huge hit with my son, we make our own wraps with sourdough discard once a week (wraps became so expensive at the shops over lockdown) I normally fill with a spicy chicken and my own version of coleslaw (no mayo) and tzatziki, in fact, I think we will have them tonight!
@supersparklyk I find I have a few slow weeks in a month, but I take pleasure in anything that's down! I have also noticed the more carbs I eat the slower the loss, so I allow myself carbs at the beginning of the week and cut down towards the end.
@speyerj Great loss Jane! Glad you are getting on track to run after your fall!
@BrownSugar174 Gosh you have been busy! So much gardening, it looks fantastic! Congratulations on your daughter graduating and on her getting a great job, you must be proud! Those jeans were a great buy, I loved TK Max when I lived in London, I got many bargains! Unfortunately, we don't have TK Max here! And I loved your post with all your health checks, biggest victory ever! I'm 48 (turning 49 on the 23rd) and I have finally realised that losing weight now is more about health than anything else! Well done!
@mmccloy12 Its not easy hey Margie! Good luck with your loss over the next few weeks!
Welcome to the new ladies, I look forward to getting to know you through your posts and journeys! Lets keep at it girls!!

Nice work on the walking, cycling, weight loss.
Hope the 'treat yourself' pad thai was nice!
Quarantine going well so far, signed up for live streaming yoga class and was able to do it without a mat, it was a yin class so very gentle and restorative. Gradually getting over the jetlag, life is OK so far, would love to be able to open a window!! Meals are pretty healthy so shouldn't be gaining weight even though I can't exercise much.6 -

6-8-20 10,793
6-9-20 8,889 (slow day at work)

It's weigh-in for me in the morning. Going to see a loss!6 -
Monday weigh in.
SW: 217
CW: 210
Intermediate GW: 10 lb intervals
UGW: 160
I'm 5,'9".
This week I did a lot of landscaping around the house but stopped going to the pool because the cases of Covid-19 have skyrocketed in my state. So I'm going to have to find another workout source to do with my kids.6 -
Hi Everyone,
Great updates again this week. This group is definitely helping with motivation!
I had a better week than last week though I have started to notice I consistently weigh less on a Sunday morning than a Monday morning so I'm thinking of changing my weigh in day. Things are going down but more slowly than I hoped for. I have slightly reduced my June goal to account for this.
SW: 130kg / 287lbs (May)
CW (13/06): 126.5kg / 279lbs
GW for June: 123kgs / 269lbs
1st GW: 114kg / 251lbs
2nd GW: 104kg / 229lbs
UGW: 88kg / 194lbs
June Goals:
• Continue exercising daily - 6/7 days last week.
• At or under sedentary calorie deficit – Yes but I think I need to increase my overall daily deficit through more exercise to see more movement.
• Keep logging, weighing and putting the effort in - tick.
June 1: 127.3kg / 281lbs
June 8: 127.3kg / 281lbs
June 15: 126.5kg / 279lbs
June 22: 125kg / 276lbs
June 29: 123.5kg / 272lbs6 -
Half way through June, too late to join?
SW: 223.5 (this is the most I have ever weighed, even counting when I was pregnant!)
Goals: drink water, vitamins, 8,000 steps a day, 20 min walk daily, stay under calorie goal.
GW: Under 200
UGW: 160
Thanks all9 -
Hi all! I know it's half way through the month but I'd like to join!
Age: 33
Height: 5'9"
Starting Weight 4/16: 270
Current weight: 243.4
I'm not new to MFP but this is the first time I've checked out the community. I'm 2 months in to my current journey(there have been plenty of others) and my motivation is dwindling. I popped over here looking for inspiration!
Here's what my weigh-ins look like this month so far (I weigh in on Saturdays)
-6/6 245.0
-6/13 243.4
My goals for June
-Log food every day and stay under 1650 calories
-Drink 128oz of water per day
-Stick to workout schedule
-Day 1 Chest/Shoulder, 30min treadmill
-Day 2 Legs/Abs, 30mins treadmill
-Day 3 Arms/Back, 30mins treadmill
-Day 4 Rest day
Sticking with my way of eating has been pretty easy going so far but where my motivation is starting to fizzle out is with my workouts. I lift weights and recently added in cardio. I used to have my workouts started by 10am and now they are getting pushed back further and further because I'm having to talk myself into going to the basement to do them. I want the days back where I was excited to get my workout done!
Also, if anyone has a food scale they love and would recommend, I think I need to get one. My husband is tired of me using his coffee scale haha9 -
I'm still plateaued. Unsurprising, as I'm still TOM; I don't expect anything for a bit.
On the other hand, my future mother in law and I talked face to face for the first time in a couple months, and the first thing she said was, "Oh, Alex, you have lost SO MUCH WEIGHT!" And that's gratifying.13 -
Came across this new thigh muscle this morning, and I got up off the floor after playing with my daughter without grunting and huffing! Leslie Sansone's workout videos are really paying off!13 -
I'm reaallly late with my weigh in from last Friday, but that's kind of because it sucked! And it has continued to suck since then. I think it's related to my monthly cycle. My weight has been even higher since Friday, despite logging everyday and my best efforts to get in exercise. I'm hoping this Friday to be back in the 206 range.
SW: 207.6 (6/1/20)
6/5: 206.9
6/12: 207.9
6/19:
6/26:
6/30:
June goal: 203
GW: 170ish
I hope everyone is doing well! My goal for today is to get a run in AND yoga. My body is craving some movement.8 -
Down 1.4 this week. Had one day down an additional half pound, but then apparently decided to camp out here for the past several days 🤨8
-
Got a text today that we can close on the new house on the 26th and take immediate possession. They want to get out from under it and on to their new house. This is GREAT. That gives me about nine days to paint and take various things over a bit at a time, and surely with two and sometimes three of us painting, we can get things done? I would hope so! This does not count in painting closet insides and the laundry room and pantry room/garage vestibule, which I also want to do so that my stuff goes into nice and fresh spaces.
I was thinking I wouldn't get possession til the first, and that was going to be a bit of a struggle and I might have to wait to paint closets and laundry rooms and the sewing room until we were settled in.
It also gives me a timeline, and lets me know that I need to make sure that I have some food cooked and ready for Boyfriend and Girlfriend for lunches that week. Well, they always like enchiladas, and I don't. So maybe enchiladas three days, and they can have pulled pork sandwiches the other two days. And I can put them up in the fridge just like I did when they were both working/going to school away from home, and they can just nuke them when ready. I'll be getting lunch out with Eldest Son, so I won't be home to cook for them. I assume we'll all be getting some lunch out on weekends because if my energy is being spent on painting it won't be being spent on cooking for anyone. And if I do it right I can get the painting done and have a couple days to pack and put things straight for the movers. This is all very good.9 -
Well, I'm back up to 205. It could be inflammation, or I've been sabotaging my weigh-ins by eating back my exercise calories... d'oh! In other news, I picked up an arm routine with 2 tricep workouts that will hopefully help me get rid of my chick wings, lol!6
-
@CupcakeCrusoe Nice you know you can bike to get groceries. It was nice that there was ess auto traffic and more bike and pedestrian traffic with the staying at home. Now the car traffic is picking up again.
@orangequilt I think it would take being quarantined in a hotel room to get me to get into yoga. Glad the food is healthy.
@losin_it_focus It is never too late to join.
@Tazaria87 you came here for inspiration but ended out giving it to others.
@AlexandraFindsHerself yes that is one NSV! Glad the moving schedule is working out for you.
@FoolishJoy you got me at being able to get off the floor easier. Actually I am on our couch now since I am helping my daughter stay on her last project. I hate getting on this couch because it is so low and sinks in when you try to get up. I have gotten up twice already when I usually have a hard time getting out of it once. I now need to get my water.
@shorepine I am hoping to get down again by Friday too.
I have been eating more lately so my weight has gone up again. I am hoping to settle things down. Part of the problem is I made such yummy quesadillas and Texmex is my comfort food and we aren’t going out anymore so I was craving it. I should have saved my last wedge for left over lunch. Then the pork didn’t thaw so we had to get take out. This after my daughter got take out Ethiopian food late last week, We still have injera in the fridge. I am making AlexandraFindsHerself inspired Thai peanut sauce pork in the crockpot today. I think I will be going grocery shopping soon. I was able to get through a week and a half from the last trip. So far so good on getting exercise this week starting Sunday with our walk along the sound. Today is to be my weight training plus routine.
Right now I am keeping my daughter on task. She did well this quarter with all As but has to do an independent study this break to be on schedule to graduate after doing her Capstone project this summer. Well I will have to get off this couch to get some water. It is sort of like doing deep knee bends.7 -
Hi all. I’ve been reading everyone’s post but not posting as much.
To all those that feel like they are straying. I think this happens to us all the key is to not like it over take your life. Have that piece of cake one day but not everyday. Enjoy that special meal one day and move on the next day. Changing your relationship with food is a ton or work- but remember even those tiny, skinny, and toned people most of us envy enjoy food every now and then. Everyone goes out to eat and eats too much sometimes. The key is sometimes. You can all do this. Remember your why.
This weekend I had a maintenance day and Aunt Flo made a painful appearance. I wanted to eat everything in site but I didn’t. I had a lot more sweets than I would have liked but I remembered how badly I want that baby and how not eating that entire cake my husband bought would hopefully bring that closer to me. I only had a couple bites of this cake throughout my long weekend. Before I would have chowed down on half of it the first day.
Did a barre workout (only 10 mins) for my challenge and boy can I feel it. My whole body was trembling afterwards. I actually think it might be a good ‘toning’ exercise type for me. I’m not one for weights since I don’t go to a gym.
Terrified that this weeks weigh in isn’t going to be what I hoped but I know that I’ve been good so it can’t be that bad. At least that’s what I’ll keep telling myself.

@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 congrats on the house move. It will be a lot of work but it will be lovely to look around and see what you have achieved
@FoolishJoy congrats on the new muscle!
Well I've achieved a few days more of hotel quarantine. I'd love to be able to open a window! All of you take a breath of fresh air for me! We've had some nicer food the last couple of days, plus we had a supermarket delivery today with some bread and cheese, whoever runs this joint must be gluten intolerant or something, there's barely a carb in sight! People in other hotels are posting pics moaning about all the junk food they are getting, I'm salivating! But it will be better in the long run if I don't gain a heap of weight while I'm in here. I'm curious about how I'm doing on the scales but it will be over a week before I get so see them again.5 -
SW: 266 (3/10/20)
6/1: 241
6/16: 236
GW: 175
Well June has been eventful for me so far! I was the victim of a random act of violence..... punched in the face by a stranger when I walked by. Nothing was said or any warning given. The bruises are still fading. The lump on the back of my head...from hitting the sidewalk...is finally starting to go away. If there is an upside, I guess it would be being unable to chew made the scale go down. I was feeling so strong and confident in the few days before this happened. My body was really feeling like we were making progress. Being knocked flat on my back really made me feel weak and vulnerable. The exact opposite of what I had been feeling!!!
After a few days and several long talks with the most supportive friends and family a person could ask for, I realized that I am strong and whatever place that woman who hit me came from must be horrible to strike out at a complete stranger like that. So even though she is a thug who can knock me to the ground, I am stronger for being able to get back up, dust myself off, and keep right on going. I determine my course. When I get knocked off, I just gotta adjust and get back to it. Same things goes if I eat cake, or chips, or whatever! Log it and move on!!
On to brighter notes... I quit drinking soda! The goal was to drink more water. The only way that was going to happen is if I gave up the diet Mt Dew. Oh boy do I feel better. I probably drank Mt Dew for 45 years. Water has been great. I am starting to explore some teas. Never drank tea before. I was surprised I liked it.
I also completed a 5k hiking trail that always had me winded and wishing to abducted by aliens just so it would be over! This time I managed very well and even ran some of the way. My body felt ready to take big steps over logs and climbing dunes. I did this the day after getting knocked out. Even though I was not feeling 100%, I had to get my power back. Climbing those dunes in the quiet was just what I needed.
Staying positive and focused!!21 -
Good morning everyone!
@KeriA it was really great for a little while that no one was on the roads.
I was feeling terrible Monday and Tuesday, so I ate more than I would have liked, but I logged faithfully, which is an improvement on what I was doing. I went to sleep way early last night and feel ready to go again!
Have a good day, everyone!5 -
Hi, I have reached that day where I realise I just have to do something right now. Taking control.
Highest weight was 222lbs in January.
Lowest weight on MFP was 145lbs in 2012
SW 210.3lbs
GW 170lbs (for now)
Height 5' 5"
Dress size UK18
Calories set to about 1500 because I cannot manage on 1200!
I'm peeing for England today with all the water!

💜Hello, ladies! 💜
I think MFP ate my last post because I can't find it! But anyway, I was MIA for a week and then I signed on to 100+ comments and it was awesome to see.
I fell off the wagon for a week. I got a little bit food poisoning last Saturday and then didn't feel like doing any meal prep for the week...which I was totally capable of. But just said F it. I thought I ate terribly, but actually it wasn't that bad and I only gained .8 of a pound, which I've already lost.
I still stuck to my no dairy/no meat thing (although I had about 10 mussels in a pasta dish) so I'm pretty happy about that. I'm toying with the idea of incorporating seafood into my diet next month, but I'm not sure.
My new favorite lunch this week is a wheat wrap with lettuce, tomatoes, black olives, and honey mustard tofu. I've only recently come to like honey mustard but it's really great for cooking small pieces of tofu and holding everything together.
Anyway, back in the saddle again! 🤠🐴🤠7 -

Many here find that MFP’s exercise calories are overly generous & eat back 1/2 - 2/3 rather than all of them. You just have to play around with it a bit to see what’s accurate for your body 😊6 -
@chlomonster555 - I am so horrified and sorry for you! I can't even imagine what might have caused this woman to lash out at you - clearly some psychotic tendencies at work there. As someone recovering from a similar fall (self-induced, in my case) I know how hard recovery can be. It's not just the bruising, its the concussion, headaches and facial pain. In your case though, you get to add in a healthy dose of PTSD. I'm so very sorry that happened to you. I admire your spirit and attitude. Walking is a great way to heal.
8 -
@chlomonster555 Oh my word, that's a terrible thing to go through! I'm so sorry you had to experience someone being violent towards you! It's good you are talking about it as PTSD can catch you unawares! Were you able to go to the police to report her?5
-
Finally, finally broke my plateau. No idea if it'll hold but I saw 179 on the scale this morning after hovering around 181 for like 5 weeks.
Obviously not reaching whatever goal I set for June since I've been stuck but at least I'm moving down again. That's a win.
I'm happy. I don't like my body exactly but all my clothes feel comfortable and loose and I've come so far from last years 275 lbs and hopeless.15 -
@chlomonster555 What a scary thing to go through! Sounds like you have a great attitude to handle it and that you have wonderful friends and family to be there for you. Hope you continue to feel better.6

Joining the club Hello all
My name is Alex, born & raised in Poland, living in the UK.
Story of my life is a forever battle with weight. Although I was always very strong & sporty, off season would always catch up with me had a "good run" age 20-24, where I've lost weight and gained a lot of muscle, then *kitten* relationship, lots of overtime at work and unplanned meals, PLENTY excuses, now 30yo and I've almost hit stage 2 obesity, so before that I'm pressing on breaks and going back to healthy living. Only 4th day in, but doing good and feeling it. I'm using the fact I'm off work for 3 weeks to focus on myself and start creating good habits. Exercising again feels good!!!
So 176cm (5'10) tall and Sunday weight was 109kg (240lbs) (so bad and so fast I actually got stretch marks on my stomach at the moment water definitely dropped and currently 108kg. Time for permanent change and no more emotional eating). Goal for this month is about creating healthy habits and getting myself into the exercise routine. I have dumbells at home and just ordered the resistance band set, so here I go
First actual goal is to lose 12kg (26lbs?) In 3 months to feel a bit less of a hippo when I have to attend a gala in September...😱That would be a good start
