Daily Commitment Thread for 2020 -- JUST FOR TODAY

2020 sure is a struggle. I read through 4 pages yesterday, after being gone since Friday, one thing really stands out. We are stronger than we think we are. Many are going through some pretty rough stuff, and we are going THROUGH it, not stopping the the midst of it.
Saturday I delivered a three tiered wedding cake and performed the ceremony. Afterwards the bride gave her speech and thanked me for getting ordained just to be able to do their wedding. The father of the bride was sitting behind me and I heard him say to the table, 'WOW, that was her first wedding ceremony, it was so well written and engaging'.....that made my weekend, exactly how I wanted their ceremony to be (they are personal friends)
The last two days has been getting my husband ready for surgery, doctor clearances, lab work, etc. He is having neck fusion from C2 to T2 on the 13th in Seattle. Anxious for this to finally get done, he has been sitting in limbo for 7 months now--constant pain, and black outs 2-7 times a day. Personally I would like some rest too.
GOALS:
Water 100 ounces
Food 300/400/70/400
Walk, 1 mile with incline
Work, stay on task
Creativity, 45 minutes planning next quilt
Organization, prep sewing studio for vacuum and steam clean
The best we can take from 2020 is to practice Grace, Patience and Kindness ...to ourselves and to others9 -

@azulvioleta6 I know what you mean. Because of my age and compromised lungs, I've been in isolation since early March. My state opened up very minimally mid-June, so I have gone out for a meal or two. Maybe check out YouTube videos for exercise ... they have just about everything you can think of.
@Snowflake1968 that's great news about your cousin. Hope you had a better day today.
@pridesabtch your PA trip sounds like fun. Enjoy!!
@mytime6630 Hugs Back!!3 -
@annettehangartner You're right! To quote someone in here (foggy memory) -- we're all in the same storms, just in different types of boats. Congrats on the cake and the ceremony; sounds like you did a fabulous job!!
@cschmitz110515 I decided I was so far behind I'd never catch up ... so just started from yesterday.
@Bex953172 good to have you back!!3 -
@cesse47 - I wish I could say I did, but that would be a lie. At least tomorrow is Canada Day so I don’t have to work.
@Bex953172 - it’s so nice to see you back! How are the littles? How was homeschooling? I hope you are doing well.2 -

Good day today. My first meeting wasn’t until 9:30! (Luxury!) Didn’t feel like I was fighting illness, just allergies. Another mini mid-day binge, but only 100 calories over. Need to figure out what that’s all about.
For June I focused on intentional eating and strength training. For July I’m going to focus even more on the intentional eating, and set a goal to get to at least 10 pushups in a row (in my late teens I could drop and do 50...I’ll settle for 10 to start, now!).

So many people having tough times right now, I'm really sorry for what you're all going through and hope there's some light ahead soon. I like @mytime6630 's point that we can still (mostly) control our health, so I'm going to keep trying not to let 2020 derail me.
I've managed to log everything (and stay within calories) for nearly a month! But I realised yesterday how much poor sleep impacts on my eating, so I'm going to add in a new daily goal.
JFT (Wednesday): log everything, stay in the green, get to bed by 10.15.2 -

@Bex953172 - it’s so nice to see you back! How are the littles? How was homeschooling? I hope you are doing well.
All the littles are good! It was a bit hectic at times because they did act up quite a bit but I'm sure it's just from the routine change.
Tbh, I didn't do much homeschooling, the teacher said I didn't have to if I didn't want to lol! With 3 it was hard to find time lol! So instead they've been out most days playing in the garden and I incorporated learning into that like (how many strawberries are ready on daddy's plant - turned out there was lots lmao! More than they could count!!)
Got Saskia riding her bike with no stabilisers! Tbh we could of taught her sooner but it was just one of them things we never got round to because me and Ash had been pretty depressed over previous years.
But me and him together have got eachother better once and for all, we've both come out our shells and we've actually made some real life friends lmao (don't worry, you lot are better friends )
And I'm doing okay!6 -
Oh! And Casey has started nursery!!! Me and Ash now get 2 whole days to ourselves!! Well ATM it's 1 and a half days because the school shuts early on a Friday for deep clean or whatever. But still it's so weird and the house is so quiet lol!
Tbh I thought Casey would be a clinger and not want me to leave but because of Covid rules I have to drop her at the door so she's dealt with it quite well I'll post pic later lol!!5 -

@Bex953172 Ive missed you!!! Have you been totally without a phone since march? Youre my hero, ive been trying to cut back on my screen time! These dang little conputers in our hand are so distracting but so convenient! I'm so happy you and the fam are all doing great!
Not sure if i had logged back on before your hiatus...but baby Ray is almost 5 months now I'm slowly crawling out of PPD and PPA. Being back here helps a whole lot! So happy your back!1 -

Bike ride went well, I didn't walk any hills. Pace still isn't what I'd like, but I will get there. I get a little stronger every week. Yea me!
Also my weight is down today which is nice. I guess the monthly bloat has gone away. Nice to see the scale move in the right direction.
