To be the person people get inspired by
To know they’re thinking “wow she is sexy” “Wow she is beautiful” “wow her body is amazing” “wow I want her body”
To wear sexy bathing suits and crop tops.

I really want to be able to ride roller coasters again. They were so much fun.11

I think most of us have had the fantasy of making everyone's jaw drop in disbelief while singing Mariah Carey's "Someday" to an ex of ours, however, my petty reason leans a bit more towards just wanting to show everyone I'm not the person they had me pegged to be. There is an event in August I'd like to attend, and I feel like it will be a time for me to shine. It's kind of like either I start losing the weight now, or I don't go. And I want to go. I want to do this. So that's my petty reason: to show up to this event, and feel good, look good, and show everyone this awesome transformation of body, mind and spirit. Kind of like I want to be inspiring, but you know deep down I'm doing it because there's a handsome guy there I wanna impress, too....
Also, I have this lovely (casual) dress with the most vibrant green color that I bought literally over 10 years ago. Even though it didn't fit me the day I bought it, I said to myself almost prophetically, "Some day I'm going to fit into this/wear this, and look absolutely gorgeous." This August event is where I'm going to wear it. I just know it.
Ok I have to ask. Is there an update? Will you be wearing the dress this August? I really hope so.

Clothes are so much more fun when you're thinner. I love 2nd hand shops and "interesting" finds. It's just easier when I'm at a lower weight.13

To fit into some of my older but super cute dresses!12

I want to wear cute clothes. I have lots of nice outfits from when I was smaller, I want to be able to wear them with confidence!! I want everyone to say to my boyfriend how lucky he is to have me. I want to impress people with how athletic I am.13

What started as wanting a revenge body, has developed into wanting a healthy, hot body for my next relationship. Dreaming of having a partner to do fun activities with, including bike riding, working out, swimming, hiking, etc.20

I want to look amazing and lean - no excess flesh - but my real petty reason is to be free of the chaffing (sp?) of the inner thighs that occurs when I run for longer than 5 K.14

I know I wont be a toothpick and I am ok with that!! I just want to be healthier and feel better when I look in the Mirror8

I'm going with lose the telework weight and go back to my more or less hourglass shape instead of the apple I'm turning into

I've just thought of another one. I'm going to be a bridesmaid in a month and I don't want to be the fat one10

Petty huh... There's plenty of reasons I want to lose it, but one of them is because a girl in middle school made fun of me for being fat. It's been a while since then, but part of me wants to lose weight so I can say "F*** you Megan!"20

Ran into my school bully who ruined my childhood the other week. She's looking annoyingly good.
That made me get my act together.16 -
-To be my pre pre pre pregnancy weight( I’m 3 months postpartum with my 3rd baby in under 4 years) lol
- I don’t want to be the women let themselves go after kids stereotype.
-To look nice in my bikini.
- no ring muffin top.
- I don’t want to see any hint of a belly through my T-shirt when I’m sitting.
- Be confident not self conscious
- Sexy wife not dependapotamus

To get the hot guy at work to look at my booty.13

Inhave lots of good non-petty reasons, I do.
But my petty reason is to stick it to my mother in law. She's been losing weight lately and is critical and petty. I want to noticeably lose to head off all that passive aggressive (or just aggressive) advice.
Oh who am I kidding, she'll give it anyway😣
I just want to feel like I am winning 😆19 -
Petty reason: To look good for my job in hair and makeup (yeah, not so busy right now!)
More serious reason: I don't want to develop diabetes etc later in life.11 -
My brother often makes rude remarks about my weight and laughs. I want to finally be rid of this extra weight and be fit so I can say stick it!!16

My mom kept throwing verbal trash about my weight on me whenever she saw me, and even when I started to cry, she wouldn't stop. I have to show her how wrong she is.30
-
Good reason: I want to be healthy enough to hike in the mountains without feeling like I’m going to pass out. I also just want to avoid diabetes as my grandpa and dad had/have it.
Petty reason: I want to look good in dresses and oversized shirts and swimsuits. I want to be one of the “hot” friends.9 -
For the most part, I want to do it for myself and my health, however...
I'd like to show my ex-husband that he didn't win. I gained a lot of weight during and after my divorce. It was just such a difficult time for me. I was also pregnant when he left our marriage, so it was inevitable that I was going to gain weight. Sometimes I feel like when he sees me he's happy that I look fat and miserable. When I first met him I was active, fit, and gorgeous. I was even featured in an issue of Shape magazine. Last year, he told me that he purposely said and did things in our marriage to make me feel bad about myself. Is that petty enough? lol28 -
I have lots of reasons for wanting to lose weight... Some of them border on petty, most of those are tied to self-esteem reasons. But the one that I feel the most guilty about is wanting to wear "normal" sized clothing. I've been overweight since I was a kid I never knew what shopping at Abercrombie or Aeropostale was like as a teen or whatever the adult equivalent is now. I shop at one place, I cannot just go somewhere and buy clothes. I cannot get cute souvenir/nerdy/comic shirts. It is so superficial and we're "told" that isn't a good/healthy reason to want to lose weight!17
-
The reason is I want to become fit and healthier for myself!
If I am being petty..it’s to be smaller and look better (update my wardrobe too) than a family member that has been a _itch to me.
I know it really comes down to feeling more confident in my own skin.. no matter my size or clothes. Hopefully as I get more fit and healthier my petty reason won’t be important..even though it is now.
