They're telling me the same things ... a week or possibly two of feeling miserable and then gradually getting better. And being able to breathe!

Karen, sometimes our body holds onto water after a tough workout. Keep well hydrated the next couple of days, and keep your goals. I bet you’ll drop those 6 and mire. Kudos for doing the right thing!

Which reminds me - Penny, if you’re around, give us an update on life with COVID-19 in one of the most isolated places in earth. I know you get the rare visitor, but I’d guess that’s all but stopped, correct?

Lanette, i had those yellow sac spiders all on and around my tomato “factory” a few years ago. They seem pretty shy, thank goodness. I’m no longer terrified of spiders as I was when younger. It took a lot of desensitizing, but I now welcome a large wolf spider or two into my home every fall to get rid of the last of the other bugs.

Machka, does DH remember much about how tired he’d be after his accident? I know he has some memory issues. Maybe reminding him of when a friend or loved one was ill or had had surgery would help him relate.

Margaret, good for you keeping that adorable dog safe even during a short trip. All three of the accidents I’ve been hurt in were less than a mile from home, and none were my fault. All were a complete “bolt from the blue” event. I sometimes wondered if I had an invisible car. “I didn’t see you!” Driving while distracted, every one of them.

Rita, have you considered? Perhaps your aliens there just wanted some peace and quiet, so they masterminded this whole COVID-19 thing, not thinking it’s effects would be quite so severe.

Lucí, i think there ought to be an ordinance that when baby photos don’t show them smiling, they must show them sleeping or making faces. She’s still so cute!

Rebecca and Heather, you two are an inspiration with your cooking. I think I must be pretty lazy, or depressed. Food sounds great - cooking it, not so much. I have hard cooked eggs and am trying to psych myself up to make egg salad. I mean, c’mon, Sharon! Get a grip!

Guess I’m still on the pity pot. I may be in the grips of lack of caffeinated beverage. It occurs to me that it’s 6:02pm here, and I’ve had no tea or coffee. That MAY motivate me to get up. Plus it will motivate me later when I have to pee.

He still struggles badly with fatigue and will likely do so for the rest of his life. He sleeps about 9 hours at night and then a couple more hours in the afternoons, most afternoons.

And he had his hernia surgery almost 2 weeks ago, and was more tired than usual for the first 2 or 3 days, sleeping about 10 hours at night and 3-4 hours in the afternoon ... but did get out for a flat, slow walk each day because his doctor recommended that.

I'm lucky to get 8 hours of sleep a night (and when I return to the office, that will drop to about 7 hours) but if I say I need a nap after work or something, he's always very surprised and concerned ... I shouldn't need the extra sleep!

And he's comparing his surgery to mine and figuring that I should be up and about and ready for a walk the next day. Only ... they are two different surgeries and he wasn't in danger of profuse nose bleeds with his. Also, the information package I've been given advises against going out where there's wind, dust, etc. etc. ... anything that might irritate the breathing and/or make me sneeze.

However, I've given him the information brochure/booklet and he has told me he's going to read it over the next couple days.

We took a lovely walk with the dog this afternoon. We had dinner on the deck and enjoyed the evening.

All peace and harmony in our house. I received a sort of apology from DH about his grumpiness yesterday. At least, I'm taking it as an apology. He said his back was hurting a lot and he was depressed realising it probably would never get better. I am sad for him.
It's nice to have a good atmosphere again.

Did my writing this morning.

The window cleaner is here. He said he has 22 houses to do today!

Rebecca - love your hair! Buzzed my husband's last night, at his request, as he works outside so much, and it's cooler. I went the opposite direction - my hair's long enough to put in a ponytail for the first time in a number of years. Glad the son's better, Athena is always a joy, and LOVE the Wonder Women!

Sharon - always glad to see you post. Bella's lovely, and Nicholas looks as if he's having loads of fun!

Heather - Pleased your DH is less cranky--and that he has enough emotional fortitude to face why he's cranky is even better.

I felt like crap on a cracker ALL DAY yesterday, until about 6 p.m., when I got up and buzzed my husband's hair. I just stayed curled up on the couch all day, but for a change, did not try to medicate myself or soothe myself with food - just read and watched Netflix. In fact, it was my best day so far in terms of calories eaten. Such a weird NSV.

This morning, I feel fine... just finished the elliptical and rower, got laundry done, so need to put clothes out on the line, as it's not supposed to rain today. Corey set up my herb garden box yesterday, so might play in the dirt a little.
