DLFK- hearing you adopted a beautiful child in need for a family warms my heart. You turned a tragic part of your life into a miracle for that 22yr old son of yours.
I lost 2 a miscarriage y still birth in between my adult daughter y JR.
Alissa V. Was 3months before JR would have been 3yrs old miscarriage couldn’t find anything to latch onto (inside out uterus but she left a cyst that JR latched onto without her he would have been lost too).
Richard W. (Still birth does inside me was dead awhile before coming out water was Blk DR who delivered JR thinks how I described the placenta y hole in his stomach how tiny he was that he died from starvation inside me ... as he grew needed more nutrients my placenta failed to meet the demand) Would have been 8-9 years old approx now .
I ran to a specialist when I found out I was pregnant told him everything so he could figure out a plan based on why he thought Daughter was a success y the other 2 failed. He said no stress allowed bed rest for the whole pregnancy on my left side a Csection scheduled even tho my plants exploded before I got to that date ...my left side to stomach still sore lol 😂 but 100% worth it! JRs y Daughter are my miracles..Wish I had all 4 tho would have been nice for JR to have a older brother y sister same age to play with.

Hey, Rita. I thought you would appreciate this. It showed up in my Facebook news feed today. My son a couple years ago when we were visiting the Atomic museum near Las Vegas.

I'm glad your dad was able to speak the truth about what was most important to him. That is a poignant story.

So many of us lost babies.
Baby Joy had Down syndrome and heart defects.
I don't know what my life would be like if she were alive now.
Different than it is.

For those of you who mourn, my heart goes out to you. I was completely infertile, found out when I was 25 from an absolutely brutal military doctor who had no patience with military wives who cried. The next 15 years were dashed hopes every 22 days, getting fainter and fainter until it was all yanked out at 40--due to anaemia from blood loss. I I didn't ever miscarry, I never quickened at all--and am always thankful for that small twist. Then, at 48, met Corey, with a daughter and son who really needed someone like me. I was incredibly lucky. Levi is my daughter's third and final... and this is today's sighting: Levi's first baby food try. Not got the concept yet!
Love y'all dearly,

Karen in VA: Thanks for the CBD oil spray advice. The dog seems to be moving well today. I think that is probably due to the amount of CBD oil that ended up on his dogfood.
Michele: My mom had miscarriages, too. She blamed my dad. I never got the details. Both of them were chain smokers, and I think that is the likely cause of her miscarriages. I looked it up on line and what I read confirms what I’ve always believed—smoking cigarettes can cause miscarriages. :grumble:
Lisa: I am charmed by Levi. What a cutie!
I spent time riding my recumbent tryke in the garage and haven’t done much of anything else. This is a low energy day.

I think Levi has it figured out pretty well. All four senses involved in that little bit of enjoyment. Looks as if he savored every smidgen of that food in one way or another.

Kelcey, Putting a pup to sleep is so hard. I had to to that around two years ago. It was horrible, but I had no choice. She was blind, deaf and had terrible arthritis. I am so sorry.3

Lisa- I understand about the military doctors- had to go in for D&C after miscarriage- nurse did a blood test without telling me she was going to start- went through the vein, left a bruise the size of a baseball over my vein. The part that was even worse was they had me in the maternity ward the whole time- all around was newborn babies crying.1

Machka - I hope that you get to have a break very soon. If you drive to work, how long would your commute be?
I just saw the comment about your night in the hospital being a break. A few years ago I was incredibly stressed and I didn’t know what to do or where to turn, I remember praying I would get sick with nothing overly serious or terminal, just enough that I needed to be in hospital for a few days and have someone care for me for a change. I think I understand how you feel. Hugs to you.
Allie - I would need to call for help to find my glasses if I was to lose them too. I am almost legally blind.
Karen in VA - My Mom had a stillborn baby the year before I was born. Her name was Lorna Kathy (my parents were Lorne and Kathryn) I always thought Lorna was such a pretty name and when Mom wasn’t around that what I named my dolls. When we were expecting our first I miscarried on what would have been Lorna’s birthday. Our eldest is named Lauryn after my Dad, I didn’t know how they would react to Lorna. I think it good when stillborn children are acknowledged. Hugs to you.
Beth - I still love the position and I love the residents. I agree that my boss is dealing with more than I’m probably aware of, but I have been a supervisor/manager for 20 years and no matter what is going on in my personal life I never demean or bully staff and that is what she is doing. Another couple staff and I talked today about it and it’s almost like she is bipolar as she can be so kind and fun but then she turns and leaves you in tears for minor infractions.
The last time I had a “beating” was because I emailed a business card that I was asked to ensure she and two others received right away. I scanned it to the three of them and was told it was out of my scope and that I needed to stay in my lane. She told me when I step out of my lane she thinks I have an ulterior motive. This week she has been overly kind. It’s very stressful.
Katla - thank you for the diabetes info. I’m hoping the doctor monitors and guides my husband for a few months at least. I think he’ll do what needs to be done, but it will be a learning curve for sure. CBD oil is very expensive. Can you spray it into a cup or something and weigh it to get a dosage?
Michele - who is Steve? Is he a friend staying with you?
The negative blood type is what caused my miscarriage. That shot is very painful. I had it twice once after the miscarriage and once after Lauryn was born. My sister in law and I are both negative and all 5 of our children combined were positive.
Allie - my daughter watches Little House and the Walton’s she loves all of the old shows. Nellie Olsen is why I absolutely refused to allow my girls refer to me as Mother. Once they watched Little House they would occasionally, to irritate me, yell out MOTHER in that annoying whiny voice.
Lisa - Levi looks like a doll. He is beautiful!
Had a good day at work today but am not feeling the best apparently menopause is kicking my butt! I never struggled in all of these years but man the last couple have been terrible!

I thought all of you that have had to put up with fireworks may get a chuckle over this.
12 -
Marie – Good for you!
Cheri – “A great way to use up scraps of skeins from other projects.” Exactly what I was thinking!
Went in the pool before dinner.
Lisa – oh, Levi, I think I’m in love!
Allie – don’t let your son get to you. He’ll most likely change. He’s just saying that he won’t come visit you, but for all you do for him, wouldn’t surprise me if he moved, too. I suspect that he doesn’t like change.
Tracey – Steve is a guy who worked for Vince. He owns a house in PA, sold his house in CO, has a trailer in FL, sold his father’s 5 homes in Hawaii. He’s more into “experiences”, he does a lot of traveling. I think he likes to come here for a few reasons. First, it’s about ½ way from FL to PA. Also, he can talk computers to Vince and he understands Steve. I don’t think most of Steve’s family can relate.

The actual drive should take about 15 minutes. However, I can't park right near where I work. I could, but it would cost me a small fortune. So most people are parking 1-2 km away and walking. That would add an extra 15-20 minutes. So in total, return, it should be about 50 minutes instead of 90 minutes and would also mean that I'm not tied to a schedule.
But I'll have to think about it because I'm not keen on driving in general. And maybe I can drive to the edge of the city and catch a bus or walk from there???? Not sure but it's worth investigating, I think.
I am looking forward to some rest with this surgery, but I'm also looking forward to October.
Regarding the miscarriages ... have you been tested for MTHFR or Factor V Leiden. They are both blood clotting disorders which have miscarriages as a side effect.
It was a relief, in a way to find I am homozygous for MTHFR (methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase). That was a main reason why I ended up with DVT in 2009 but explains other things as well.

Machka - driving would certainly give you some to me back. I didn’t mind using the transit system here when I had an express route from home to work, but when we moved and the bus schedule sucked I ended up buying a car to gain some tome back on my life. I am a 20 minute walk to work now, I drive most days because I don’t like being sweaty when I get there.

The only people who have been inside our house since March are my walking friend who is like part of the family and the cable repair guy. It will be a long time before anyone else comes in.
We did our monthly shopping this morning and the cupboards and freezer are full. Jake bought the ingredients for several very ambitious Ninja Foodie projects. He'll do the first one tomorrow and the second one on Friday.

Tracy- Lol love the Christmas decorations post lol 😂 what a hoot! I peed my pants 👖 . I like Your Daughter name more it sounds so elegant.
It’s very common my DR told me to have miscarriage or still birth even if you do everything right. Mine was due to a bad uterus y health issues. Simple stressor like the Face books was banned by my DR due to the fact he felt anything that got a person worked up was dangerous if they had blood pressure issues without knowing. Sure enough he was right so very glad I followed his advice like it was the law of the land.

Allie: I am a homebody. I like to go places, and then I like to come home. I haven’t wished to move far away from home or family, although my kids have both moved far away. This year is quite different. Due to the Covid pandemic, we’re staying closer to home than ever. Good luck in your decision process.
Tracey: I buy CBD oil at a hardware store. Our local grocery store also sells it. Both stores have several kinds in stock, and small bottles are expensive, but they last a long while. My recent purchase was in the $70+ range. I was disappointed that it was a spray bottle rather than a dropper bottle because it is harder to know how much you are using. It is very helpful for our old dog with a sore hip. Spraying a squirt onto the dog food seems to be getting the job done. In our experience, CBD oil has remarkable abilities to reduce chronic pain. I love the poster about people setting off fireworks that almost caught the Christmsa Decorations on fire.
Be well and happy.

This is the wall hanging that I made for our granddaughter, finally finished!
This is our grandson, his fourth birthday! He's wearing a jersey for our local lacrosse team. Our DIL's family is heavily into lacrosse (I like it too!)
And this is our granddaughter, she's one.
Lisa, Levi is such a treasure, he does look like he is truly enjoying his first taste of "real" food! lol
Machka, sending good thoughts your way for a successful surgery and uneventful recovery. Also, congrats on passing the two courses and only having one more to go!
Cheri, those blankets are lovely! I may have to try one, I do have some odds and ends of wool hanging around!
Feeling sad for all of you who have lost children or were unable to have children. My mom had a daughter before me, she died at 2 1/2 years due to a heart problem. Mom then went on to have a few miscarriages, then me, then at least one more miscarriage. I am blessed to have had two pregnancies and two healthy births. And they have turned into fine young men!
The last two days have gone well, calorically speaking! I have also been moving more and not snacking after dinner! That is huge for me! I have been battling a headache all day today tho, the weather is changing, so I guess that's the problem. Very annoying, but a good excuse to go to bed early, so I think that's where I will head now!
Hugs for those who need them, congrats to those celebrating and welcome to the newbies!
