I'm creating this thread as a sort of ongoing diary of sorts. It's a place where people can come and be motivated or motivate others.
Anyways, I am 6 foot 3 inches and starting weight is 420....as of about a month and a half ago, just need to get on a scale and see where I am at now.
Highest weight ever was 435 and my goal weight as of now is 250.
Obviously I'm tracking calories, so my exercise regimen is every other day is strength training with kettlebells and bodyweight exercises. The days in between are for cardio, specifically trail running (jogging) and walking around town.
Every month I might post progress photos, unsure at the moment.

I’m here to support you and also get my own butt in gear5

Thanks for the support guys! So I have to amend something really quick. My last known weight was actually 425.
Anyways, I'm currently doing very well with my calories today.
After I got out of work I went for a mile and a half walk around town since today is my cardio day.
I got my scale today finally, and my official weight now is 410. I have lost 15 pounds since my last weigh in.35 -
That’s great 😀. I’m joining you with this journey keep it up think and say it matters ! I’m cutting out real sugar mainly for my coffee and cokes and bread. I’m going to eat less cause I need to I’ve noticed my clothes don’t fit and I want to be pain free too , my legs hurt and think because my weight. You can do this , weigh the same time every time you step on scale. Get a note pad too write down also what you eat. Now how can I get to walking? Need to lol.4

I can't wait to see your progress! Let's get it3

Once again ended my day under calories.
Had a really long day at work and found it difficult to get motivated for exercise.
Managed to just do some wall push ups, kettlebell deadlifts, some kettlebell swings and kettlebell slingshots.
Tomorrow is cardio.12 -
Way to really and still work out! I make myself either go for 5 minutes or one song. If I'm really resistant I'll dance while doing chores. Usually by the time is up I'm fired up enough to keep going.
Awesome job staying under calories!3 -
@METALforCHRIST You are doing an awesome job! Keep moving (I might actually get up off my rump today and move, too!). Thank you for posting - you really do help keep others (including me) stay motivated. You are the kick in the pants I needed. Thank you!!3
-
@METALforCHRIST
You just motivated me to get moving today! I'm gonna start with some housework, then some cardio, then stretches.
Have a good day meeting your goals.4 -
Once again, thank you for all the support guys! I'm glad that what I'm posting is managing to motivate some people!
Today my calories are very under control, had a very long morning. Got it my car at 6:45 and finished driving around by 2:30...makes it easy to not load up on calories lol.
Today is obviously cardio day so I went on a 3.5 mile walk on a rail trail. It was nice but I think next time we have a heat index of 98 I won't be doing that haha.6 -
Once again on track to be under calories for the day!
Decided to take my kettlebell exercises outside instead of inside. I found that I seem to more motivated and less distracted if I'm outside because of how exposed I am lol. Decided if anyone wanted to pick on me I could just chuck the dang thing at them haha, after all it is basically a cannonball.
Only 83 outside so the sun wasnt too terrible today. Did single arm deadlifts, slingshots, rows, and started doing two arm swings.
Doesn't look it but DAMN am I sweating.

Keep up the great work. I started at 408 doing Keto in Oct 2018 and in February 2020 I was 222. COVID thru me off track and I gained to 280, but now back down to 265 and still dropping. You can do it.

Hello,
I am a 6'0 ft, female and at my heaviest weighed 400 lbs. I am now about 290 lbs. I know I need to get up and start doing some kind of exercise routine, and you have encouraged me to get started.
Your doing an amazing job with your working out routine and staying under calories. Wishing you the very best in your endeavors to become a healthier person.
I'll check in once in a while to see how you're doing. 😃8 -
Great job ! Good for you for getting in that exercise. I started in April at just under my highest. 290.5.
I’ve mostly just been watching my food. Counting and staying with in or under my calories. As of today I’m at 249.7.
Exercise is something I struggle with to do. Some days I do some sort of movement. But most days I don’t. I’m sure if I did I’d be farther ahead in my journey.
What gets you motivated to exercise ? I could use some tips, maybe get my butt in gear !
Awesome progress so far though. Kudos to you ! 😊4 -
When it comes to exercise I basically have to pep talk myself. The reality is that if you take two runners of equal athleticism and have them race the one that pep talks himself will push way harder.
Anyway its funny that you mention the exercise because today is the day that I wasnt able to do any lol. I had a very long day at work but lucky for me my job is very active and all on my feet. I was only a couple hundred steps away from hitting my goal for the day.
In other news I obviously ended my day under calories again, and plan on ordering a steel mace tomorrow. I DO have the benefit of the fact that my "strength " training with kettlebells is also a cardiovascular exercise, and so isnt mace training. Killing two birds with one stone.4 -
What is mace training ? Never heard of it.
Well either way good for u ! 👏🏼🎉 I need to get myself to move more.1 -
-
Please keep posting.
Your persistence is very motivating.4 -
You're doing GREAT! That Mace training looks cool...but my neighbor's would be scared3
-
Very interesting3

Today was another great day in the books. Managed to once again finish my day very well below my calorie goal for the day.
Got out of work and immediately went outside to do my kettlebell workout. Added to how many swings I'm doing and damn is that tough!! It will knock the wind out of you as if you just finished an intense run! Took a few minutes to finally stop gasping for breath lol.
Anyways, tomorrow is weigh in day!!! Hoping for some good numbers.4 -
Alright, today is my weigh in day! Finally got home from a long day at work and got on the scale. My official weight is now 405 lbs for a loss of 5 lbs this week!
Today is cardio and I'm trying to decide if I want to try out yoga or not.7 -
Wow that’s awesome.1
-
Love your motivation11
-
So I didn't do any cardio yesterday, not an excuse but I find it difficult to do cardio on days that I work...mostly because work involves being on my feet and moving around a bunch in the first place!! Really gotta look into yoga because I need cardio to be something that doesn't feel like what I already spent 10 hours doing.
Plan is to start biking in the future as well but I want to lose some more weight first.
Today otherwise is going good, did my kettlebell workouts and in a few days I'll have my steal mace that I will be adding to my kettlebell workouts.3 -
Wow. You are awesome!!
I hope you decide to post the monthly progress photos- I would be inspired to follow along. It sounds like you got this!! The toughest part is starting and you already did that!! Keep going!!2 -

I actually am planning on doing that, I have some pictures I took last month so I suspect I'll be doing my month comparisons on like the 25th or something.0 -
Today has been really good so far!! Currently under calories and I dont see that changing for the day.
Yet another long day at work, hit my steps goal just by working lol. Today is cardio and I just couldn't bring myself to drive into town to do it.
SO I decided to run up and down my stairs for cardio instead lol. I need to figure out a routine and what I want my cardio to be. Until that happens my cardio days will most likely always be lackluster.2 -
Good day today, was really hoping my mace would come in today but alas....it did not.
Did my kettlebell workouts again, and added a couple to my routine. Now I'm also doing halos and clean and press.
I'm actually really happy that I can do a clean now, its very easy to knock up your arms and wrist doing it but I'm starting to get a hang of it. Ended my day under calories as well.
