Day/Weight/Comment
07/26- 185.2 had a great day worked out and spent the day by the pool so excited for this loss finally but worried if I can maintain it
07/27 184.8 finally some movement, eat less than normal since my stomach was bothering me. Took a day off from workout
07/28 183.8 another good day it seems, I am scared to believe it is true. I worked out and was under for my calories.
07/29 184.4 completed my work out and under on calories

07/27: 132.5
07/28: 134.5 | Birthday was yesterday, so an impromptu visit from my parents was accompanied by an impromptu cherry pie. Along with testing out some other foods/recipes earlier in the day, definitely went over the calorie count. I didn't feel comfortable turning it away, but will probably just throw the leftovers away (sorry mom! It is very good, I promise!). Recommitting myself today.
07/29: 133.2 | Sort of recommitted myself; ate only half a piece of leftover pie. Had some great Mediterranean food from Aladdin's (regional restaurant chain based in Ohio, with some locations in surrounding states). Stayed within the calorie count, so gonna keep up that progress and ensure at least some weight is lost this round...

07/28 204.4 I tried really hard to not over eat yesterday, even though I was stressed. Looking forward:
I'm just too danged cussed to let this thing knock me back, and ruin all the effort I have put in to get here. I am stepping up my routine, and taking control. Sheltering in place means I can fully concentrate on getting in my exercise, and preparing healthy food.
July: focus is on improving stamina, strength, flexibility, which may impact the scale
Aims:
- 2020: Goal is to stabilise weight around 145
- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals by keeping busy
Back Story:2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅JGM10D ~|~ Round 120 🔹Posting weight and comments each evening.
2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ So far, so good.
That's a WIN in my book!
2020
Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

07/26 – 224.3 lbs. Sunday working the ER was MUCH better that Saturday in the ER… better as I worked out before work, ate better, this is going to be a GREAT round. Coming up on my mini goal of being under 220.0. It’ll be the first time in many years.
07/27 – 221.3 – 45 mins of cardio before work – smart breakfast – going to be an awesome Monday.
07/28 – 223.0 – Why on earth does my weight fluctuate so much day to day????
07/29 – 222.0 – Down 1 pound exactly… I will say that ever since I’ve been working from home, I’ve not been….
Well… as “regular”. So I guess it’s time to push the water, maybe get some extra fiber.. and well.. down right move more. My mini goal is to be under 200 by August 1st... HEY... that's Saturday.

Welcome Renee - Glad to have you with us. Stress eating is a real and tough thing to break... but you can do it. Just try little baby steps in breaking it. Some say going cold turkey... for some it works... for some not so much.
Best of luck on your journey and have a great day.

Day/Weight/Comment
7/26 - 181.2
It’s a lovely morning but heating up fast. Birthday cake on tap for DH, but I’m planning the rest of my day to compensate, and will be spreading soil in my new garden bed, so that should burn a few calories. I’m determined to lower my calorie average by at least 100 this round, and to up my exercise. Have a gorgeous Sunday, all. Be safe & healthy. 🌸❤️🌼🥗🌻
7/27 - 181.8
Oooh, the cake was good. And lasagna for DH’s birthday dinner. Salad today, baby! I did do a couple hours worth of hard labor in the garden — I’m turning the lawn at one side of the house into flowers, so schlepped a lot of 40-lb bands of soil around. More today, then compost. Better than the gym!
7/28 - 182.8
Cake + no walk due to lightning + a bit of munching last night = bloat + weight gain. Back with the program today. I want to get back to running, so am thinking of doing a round of C25K starting tomorrow. Planning a nice walk this evening. I’m off to buy more soil — I have about half the lawn covered for my side-yard garden. Yesterday was horrible hot, but it’s lovely today, so I need dirt! These days, I dream in flowers.
7/29 - 181.8
I almost finished laying the new garden bed yesterday — today’s the day! I’ll do that this morning (12 more 40-lb bags of soil will be my weight training) and then I’m off for a long walk along the river this afternoon. Now to eat well at meals and slay the snack monster....

I like to track averages due to my wild fluctuations. For the same reason, I like to weigh daily so I can see the lows from time to time. It gives me hope.
Round 121
Month/Day: Weight / Comment
07/26: 210.2 / A bump up from yesterday, but no surprise. Had my hand in the candy dish and other carbs all day yesterday. And, it was too hot and humid for very much activity outside.
07/27: 210.8 / I guess I will be happy with this for a Monday morning. Way better (4.2# better) than last Monday.
07/28: 209.4 / fingers crossed and mouth shut, I might make it to below 208 this round.
07/29: 206.8 / Ok that was unexpected, obviously. I better wear a neck brace for tomorrow’s jump up.

Need to dip my toe into the 160's!
IF: 16:8
7/26: 171 nice round number to start R121
7/27: 170.1 Glimpse of the "0" back from last round. Lots of gym activities for me over the weekend. A bit worried going into the week. The gym is not as ready of an option with my work/sleep routine; and mother-nature is dishing out extreme heat which doesn't work out well for me walking outside during my lunch time. Tune in tomorrow to see how I resolve this activity quandary!
7/28: 169.8 Blessed with a cooling rain so a nice evening for my walk. Can't credit the BIG 3 oz loss solely to that. All I can say is don't mistakenly take a magnesium supplement instead of your crazy pill on an empty stomach. In a desperate attempt to keep what is likely not a fat loss, I just got back from a fasted hour walk in the low 80's sunshine. Plan to take the pup on a shorter one when it cools off this evening--gotta stay on her good side.;)
7/29: 170.0 Feels like a solid pound lost since the beginning of the round. YAY! I feel more "centered" once I inexplicably nudge up a couple ounces after following all my rules for several days in a row. Something comforting about knowing that lower number lives because it's been achieved. Maybe those ounces are in transformation, too? Fat-to-Water-to-Muscle-to burn Fat-to-Water to....? So I made that last part up--I don't know if that is how the body burns or not, but it feels like how my "extra" is rolling right now. (pun intended)8 -

7/26: 220.6 Yesterday’s number was a big drop, I said then that a lot of it was probably water. Just balancing out today.
7/27: 221.4 My scale was acting weird last night (display light on and flickering when it hadn’t been touched since that morning) and I had to replace the battery this morning, so I can totally blame this bump on that, right? In all seriousness, I’m still lower than three days ago...still balancing out that big one-day drop, I guess. Follow the trend, not the fluctuations. It’s why I post the chart.
7/28: 222.6 Right...there’s no “just balancing out the fluctuations” or “follow the trend” here. I had a mini fast food binge yesterday, and I gained. Time to get back on track.
7/29: 222.4 Was hoping for a bigger drop, but at least it’s in the right direction at last!

I’m in my 50’s
OSW-187 Sept. 2018
Goal this round: Report daily
7/29-157-I was doing so good and then my life got so busy I couldn’t see straight. I was painting all of the garage cabinets and doors so we could install them. All of a sudden, I found the exact long arm sewing machine I’ve been looking for, used, and I dropped everything I was doing and my friend and I drove 6 hours and got it and hauled it home, set it up and we’ve had nonstop company. This morning I got my coffee, sat down to report back to you as the first step back to “normal”. I hope you are all doing good. 💚☕️8 -

7/28: DNW, been a little out of sorts after a fabulous bike wreck. Took a week off of everything. Appetite was crazy, exercise was forbidden (concussion & Contusions everywhere), and it was TOM. I honestly just didn't want to look at the scale. Tomorrow I take the blinders off and assess the damage...
7/29: 171.4, not as bad as I thought it would be. I had a late dinner last night and with TOM, it is probably 170.x in reality. I can deal with that. Thanks for the "hugs" all.

07/26 DNW, but it’s good to be back at a deficit and so much easier after the break. I’d been struggling a bit before, so I’m hoping the reset helps with adhering to my diet. I didn’t weigh in this morning because I was camping last night. First weigh in will be tomorrow.
07/27 202.6. I’m pretty happy about this since it was what my last and lowest weigh in was before the diet break. I’ve only been back at a deficit for two days.
07/28 200.8. Wow. I expect it will bump up a bit since that's the way the process goes, but I'm really glad that the break I took didn't derail me from losing.
07/29 199.6. Yay! I have not seen this number in five years. At some point it's going to bump back up a bit, but soon enough I won't ever see the 200s again.
