Day/Weight/Calories Previous Day/Snack Status/Comment
9/4 - 181.2 - 1357 - snack <200 - walked 70 min 😊
Yesterday was a good day. For whatever reason(s), I feel much more in control and determined. I seem to be succeeding at curtailing my night-time snack habit. I’ve set a goal of losing 1 pound/round, which seems realistic even with holiday season coming up. I guess one good thing about the lack of social gatherings is the reduced supply of beautiful goodies everywhere! Anyway, here’s to a great round for everyone.
9/5 - 182 - 1372 - snack >200 ☹️ - walked 50 min
There’s an uptick that makes me scratch my head. Oh, well. I’ve been making my calorie goal and my average is just barely higher, so on the right track. It’s cool and lovely here today and I hope to finish my current garden bed expansion and then maybe do some painting. All good! Have a lovely Saturday, all!
9/6 - 181.2 - 1672 - snack 🍨 >200 😐 - 3 hrs digging and hauling dirt 🙂
I went over my goal yesterday but did a lot of heavy work in the garden, and I was hungry! It’s ok, and I finished expanding one border, so the new area is read for plating. Today’s project — refinishing an end table I got for $20. This morning I sanded to old finish off the top. I plant to put a light stain on it and paint the body and legs. Primer on the lower parts this afternoon! Do something creative today — it’s good for the soul!

@deepwoodslady I'm so sorry for whatever you're going through. I've always enjoyed your posts on this group, and I agree with what @HoopsGuy72 said- we won't give up on you!
@CamandJarvis I now realize being part of this group was *key* to my original success, and not only for the obvious reason: daily accountability. Checking in here also gives me a chance to be introspective about this process, and because I save all my entries on a notepad, it gives me a record of what worked and what didn't, what my binge triggers are, how long it actually takes to lose, etc. I was never the type to keep up with a journal, but this group accomplishes the same thing for me. What a huge revelation it's been to learn that abandoning the group after entering maintenance (during quarantine, no less) was a surefire way to regain. I won't make that mistake again!8 -

09/05 144.2 I usually plateau right before I lose, so if I can get through the weekend on track, I might be in for 143 or even 142 very soon. Funny how you can look forward to seeing numbers that once would have been upsetting. I was in the 120s in March, pre-quarantine. Sigh.
09/06 143.6 All right! Now I expect to toggle between 144/143 for a bit. With a week left in this round, I think I'm headed for a real loss this time. That would be encouraging more for what it represents: finally taking charge of my quarantine weight gain and moving closer to the maintenance weight I'd worked so hard to achieve last year.

Goal weight for this round: Somewhere in the lower 113-114 range. Will be thrilled if this happens because of where I’m at in the month.
Another goal: Embrace the scale fluctuations and not get flustered.
Previous days09/04 114.4 Got a soccer work out in this morning. Feeling sleepy and looking forward to the long holiday weekend. Having the Monday off will be nice and it’ll give me some extra time to cook something fun! I haven’t figured out what but I’m in the mood to experiment this weekend.
We had Bertucci’s delivered last night as a surprise from my father in law’s coworkers but it didn’t hit me too hard. It was a small piece of chicken parm, about 1 ½-2 cups spaghetti, salad, and a roll. I was full afterwards and didn’t feel icky…so that was good 😊. It didn’t make me retain too much water either, which was a plus for me. The meal train is dropping off a crustless quiche for dinner tonight which shouldn’t hurt the water retention either. I’ll just have to embrace the challenge of being ok with not knowing the calorie counts.
09/05 115.0 And up it goes. Meh, at least I know the time of the month that I am at my lowest weight. So, this is expected and I’m learning to embrace the fluctuations. The crustless quiche that was dropped off last night was delicious! It had spinach, basil, some sort of cheese mixed in and a layer of parmesan cheese on top. Tonight, for dinner we plan on making a homemade beef and broccoli dish with CSA broccoli and csa Flank steak. So that should be yummy too!
I plan on doing a spin bike workout this morning once my husband wakes up. Then, it’s most likely a chores day for me. Maybe we’ll go for a walk this morning too if he’s feeling energetic!
09/06 115.2 It’s been a great day so far. This morning my husband and I went for a nice 3ish mile walk and then I followed it up with a 45-minute spin bike workout from Youtube. Then, I got everything done I planned to do yesterday. Yesterday, I didn’t end up exercising or doing any chores because I was just plain tired.
Today, I made chorizo, pinto bean, and brown rice stew in the pressure cooker. I used some Cajun seasoning, a little bit of onion, two baby bell peppers, ½ lb dried pinto beans, 1 cup (180 g) dry brown rice, chicken broth, and 1lb of chorizo. First, I browned the chorizo and onion, then cooked the beans with the chorizo and chicken broth at high pressure for 27 minutes, then I added the rice to the beans and meat and cooked everything for another 22ish minutes. I didn’t measure the amount of chicken broth I used (I just eyeballed it). If I had to guess it was about 3-4 cups total of chicken broth. It made a total of 8 cups worth of food and I calculated it out as 2 cups is one serving = ~600 calories
Earlier today, I got fancy and made us pancakes for breakfast. They were high fiber and my husband really liked them! Here's the recipe I put into MFP:
3.50 tsp, Baking powder
0.50 tsp, Salt
0.25 cup, Sugar
3 tbsp, Butter Unsalted
1 tsp, Vanilla extract
1 cup, Coconut Water
1 cup (120g), Organic Whole Wheat Pastry Flour
1/2 cup, Anthony's Oat Fiber (Not Oats)
45 g, Inulin
2 large, Egg
Recipe Made 9 pancakes (~1/3 cup batter per pancake)
calories 141
Total Fat 5 g
Sodium 341 mg
Potassium 67 mg
Total Carbohydrate 35 g
Dietary Fiber 16 g
Sugars 7 g
I hope you're all enjoying your weekend!7 -
I will be back for another round. This will be my second since leaving in February and returning. This should be an interesting round. Hopefully it works out in my favor! Goal is to drop 2 pounds and be at or under 162.xx for 50% of the time.
Rnd 124 SW - 169 EW - 164.3 (-4.7)
09/04 - 164.3 I stayed the same so I am probably done losing all of my water weight. Hopefully I can have another nice drop or 2 this round. I have some dental work later this afternoon, so I doubt I will be eating dinner. I hate going to the dentist and didn't sleep well last night because of it. I will be glad when it is done!
09/05 - 164.7 didn’t eat anything after dental work last night and woke up to shark week a couple days early. Hopefully will go down soon.
09/06 - 161.3 didn’t eat much yesterday because of my dental work from the day before and stomach issues. I’m going to stay on track today and hope I don’t see too big of a spike tomorrow after eating more today.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

I'm in! Thank you, @GrandmaJackie!
70 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. Recovered from back surgery then hip surgery!! Got back to walking then I sprained my ankle. UGH! hurt! I was down for 6 weeks with the ankle. THEN...I face planted on the sidewalk while walking. Messed up my face, wrist and knee...sigh...Must keep going, tho.
The Shelter in Place has everyone freaked. We need to remain calm and respectful of each other.
