Sorry I’ve been missing for most of the last 3 months. I have been reading some posts and feeling some guilt about my attitude. I’ve just not been motivated and have made too many excuses. Time to change now especially as clothes are getting too tight! Time to return to healthy habits and renew my acquaintance with food and bathroom scales 😀

Best way to get lots of veggies is with a big pot of soup. And it is so good in this chilly weather.
Fruit is easy just grab one and eat it.

I've been a little MIA lately. The thought of goals was just overwhelming with everything else going on in my life right now. Unfortunately, without the goals I am self destructing. I need to get back on here if even for just one thing today. Maybe tomorrow I'll do better.

Have a great day y'all.

How do you get over a depression/frustration slump when you gain weight back?
I lost 5.2 lbs my first week, but had a rough time this past week and gained 2.6 of it back. I’m trying to stick to my goals, but my mind is just not in it right now. It seems so easy to pack the weight on and so hard for me to lose it (thanks to PCOS and a crappy metabolism). At least I lost another .5 in at my waist despite the gain...
Funnily enough I would always end up in a slump and “give up” attitude when I weighed weekly. That one little snapshot just didn’t work for me because if I was up a bit over the week before I thought I had failed. So to overcome that I started weighing daily and taking an average over 7 days. It helped me see the fluctuations that occur and doesn’t cause me to panic. I also started measuring on the 1st of each month and learned that sometimes the scale showed nothing but the measurements told a different story.
I successfully lost 25lbs doing that. I still weigh each day but am not measuring and I need to start that again to see some progress which may get my butt in gear again.

Well, yesterday was a bit of a fail. I had online games with colleagues straight after work and that has often been a trigger for overeating as going straight into that means I don't have space to mentally unwind after work. The games were also quite frustrating as they just took forever and weren't very motivating as we were just losing very badly. And as a result I had a bit of a mini binge. Not particularly impressed with myself.
Today will be better. It hasn't started well. I didn't sleep amazingly so when the alarm went off I did not go for a run as planned (didn't help that it's a lot darker in the mornings now ). But I am going to persevere and have a good day anyway - eating well, having an alcohol and junk free day and then hopefully having better sleep as a result.
Yesterday's goals:
- Be in the green
- Go for walk at lunch
- Talk to boyfriend in French
- Do laundry (so much of it to do following holiday!) Completely forgot last night, it's on now!
- Sort through post
Today's goals:
- Log everything I eat
- Be in the green
- No alcohol
- Stay positive
- Read emails at intervals only
- Go for walk at lunch
- Pick up new glasses
- (Dinner) Talk to boyfriend in French
- Get on top of emails
- Watch Bake Off!
- No watching TV in bed
- Light off by 114 -
Hey everyone, hope y'all are doing well!
I'm new here, I'm not exactly sure how this works but I've been trying to lose some weight for a long time but with barely any progress. I figured I needed some extra motivation and help and here I am.
I would really appreciate help in achieving my goals. At this point they seem a mere dream. I've been pretty lazy I think and have procrastinated quite a bit. Maybe this will help me achieve what I wish to.
My goals for today 29/9/20
- Clear Mail
- Cycle around
- Catch up on Studies
- Eat healthy
- Sleep by 114 -
@yukta908 this is a great thread for building good habits. Just aim to hit your goals just for today...then tomorrow try to do the same again. It's the things we do over and over again that get us results

- put the damn clothes away!😭
- DISHWASHER!!! (It's starting to get pretty gross)😁
- call doctor re sick appt😁
- call Walgreems re refund for failed online order😭 Must do today!!!
- call NDOBGYN re fertility consult 😭 Must also do today
- call work re out of work tomorrow and Friday 😁
- go to doctor if appt available😁 Did a phone consult.
- pick up meds(if applicable) 😁 picked up some cold medicine
- lots of tea/water/vitamin C 😁
I'm having an internal battle with myself about whether to go into work today or not because we have a new student starting today. And apparently he's a handful. But I still sound pretty terrible. Matt said to call out due to the situation were in now with Covid. I guess I'm going to have to. I just feel bad about it. The doctor said that it's just a cold but I don't want to spread it around to anyone because that would just suck. I think I already got Matt sick.
Thanks for all the Happy Birthday wishes! It was a nice quiet day. Mom and Dad came and visited for a few minutes after they got home from their trip. That was nice.
Okay onto some goals.
Today I will:
- post 😁
- call NDOBGYN re fertility consult
- call Walgreens!!!!
- run the dishwasher again
- work on outline
- training
- figure out dinner
- bed at a reasonable time
@snowflake1968 It's pretty much the same feeling. Lol. Although the dishwasher takes about 3 minutes to load and press the start button as opposed to the 20 minutes it used to take me to do the dishes. I'm just lazy.
@bex953172 Tbh, I've been putting off making the appt for a while now. I think I'm just scared. I had originally planned to make it in February but then I had to have surgery, then Covid happened. But I'm going to do it! I'm gonna call today! I need to make this happen. I'm 32 now! I want to have a baby damn it! Lol

@HEGoddard0928 - Hope you had a great birthday! Sorry you and Matt didn’t get the news you were hoping for. There is a great book called “Taking Charge of Your Fertility”. I highly recommend it and think it should be required reading for all young women! I read it when I was thinking about trying for kids. It really helps you understand what’s going on in your body each month and how to look for signs for your most fertile window. Best of luck!

@SERmom3 I just put in a request for Taking Charge of Your Fertility from my library. I'm definitely going to read it! Thank you for the suggestion.
@Bex953172 Dad put in the dishwasher before we moved up here. It's actually one I got from an old boss. Lol. It works pretty well. Some things I have to rinse really well before I can load though.
Boy do I understand the clothes mountain problem! Our hamper is overflowing and I have a huge pile of clean clothes to fold! If I wasn't so sick I'd contemplate going to the laundromat. But definitely not today.4 -

@yukta908 - I found this group and posting goals has been instrumental in me originally losing 25lbs. I have since gained most of that back I think because I wasn't posting goals, an injury and COVID. I started posting again and have since lost 7 again. I found I got tired of myself having to come back and tell people I failed it gave me more incentive to try to meet the goals.
@littleblackskirt - LOL @ your admin being @HEGoddard0928's dishwasher. We'll have to start finding memes to tease you with. In all honesty though, you have a lot on your plate right now so it's understandable.
@HEGoddard0928 - Here in Alberta and I think most of Canada it is illegal right now to go to work with any Covid symptoms which can also be cold/allergy symptoms. I think the governments are going to have to do something for people missing work if the person doesn't have sick time through their employer but really shouldn't that always have been the case? People go to work when they are sick because they can't afford not to or their company/boss will threaten them if they don't come in. It's a vicious cycle.
I had 2 friends that suffered terribly in the fertility department. One of them when she went for a dye test found out that she had a cyst in her ovaries. The dye cleared the path enough that she was pregnant within the month, she had two babies within 16 months, then had another one 9 years later. The other friend, they couldn't find anything wrong with either of them. Her husband drove truck so lack of "trying" was an issue. One night he came home in the middle of the night and surprised her, they used to joke to their close friends and tell them that he shocked her so much it took and he would chime in and say "yeah it had something to do with holding her upside down by the ankles afterwards".
My back is in so much pain, I think I may need to go see a doctor. I am going to try some stretching exercises and some Robax to see if that helps first. I also need to stop sitting so much and get moving.

Fertility appointment is set for October 22nd. We scheduled it for later in the month because of the damn cold. It works out for Matt and my work schedules though too. Hopefully good things come out of it! Lol.5

I have been doing absolutely horrible food-wise the past month, and just can't seem to get my act together. I lost almost 30 pounds last year... felt great.. and felt so in control. Now, I have lost that great feeling, and replaced it with craving sweets constantly, not feeling good, going to bed each nite telling myself that tomorrow is a new day .. only to fail again. Even during the covid .. from march until late july, I kept all that weight off. Somehow, the past 6 weeks I've just given in everyday.
SO .. tomorrow IS a new day. Tomorrow I will remind myself all day how great I feel when I am in control. And remember how I lost the weight. Mindful eating. Grab a apple or egg when I am hungry .. not chips and ice cream. DO not bring that stuff into the house. I think this is where I got sidetracked. I used to go to the store maybe once every 6 weeks because of covid. Now, I find myself going more .... going right before the store closes so I don't have to be near people ... but I am bringing home chips and ice cream. Those old habits can come back so quickly. I am up 10 pounds ... This has to stop!
So tomorrow, my goals again will be simple
1. Log all food... no matter what
2. stick with my meal plan for the day (which reminds me of goal 3
3. plan my meals in the morning so I know what I will be eating for lunch and dinner.
4. concentrate on water
5. keep busy in the evening.. my worse time. Drink water
6. get back on here no matter what .. be accountable.
7. make tomorrow day 1 ... a fresh start.5 -
Hi all. I’m so desperately behind on here I’m not sure I can catch up but a quick read back tells me I’m not the only one struggling to keep focussed right now.
It’s only a few weeks since I’ve been back to work and the kids have been back to school but it has been exhausting! We had to get a test for my younger daughter which was a mission in itself given the UK seems to have run out of tests. Then quarantine while waiting for a negative. Back to school this week and my older daughter gets sick! Not Covid but stressful anyway. And it turns out being stuck at home is a sure fire trigger for me to make bad food choices. At least I am still running/exercising regularly. But time to get back in control with food...
Goals for Wednesday
- morning run
- Finish phonics screening
- Email L parent re Italian book
- Marking at lunchtime
- Call E dad at 3:30
- Book parent consultation
- Online grocery shop
- Balcony quote
- Message D re building timings
- Bed by 9:30
Have a great day everyone xx5 -

Good morning everyone. @mytime6630 and @faebert I’m with you on the struggles and the need to take back control of food (and drink). We know we can do it as we’ve done it before but that doesn’t make it easy!3 -
Yesterday was actually a pretty good day. I was tired, but despite that managed to get quite a bit of work done. And then in the evening, I did actually stick to my plan of not having any junk or alcohol. Which means I feel somewhat fresher today (not exactly fresh, but better...)
I've decided to give up week night drinking at home for the month of October (at least). I've been thinking about doing this for a little while but haven't really been motivated to do it as, frankly, a nice glass of wine takes the edge off work. However, I'm reading a book on positive thinking (which is something I want to be better at) and yesterday I read a chapter about taking care of your body. It talked about the link between mind and body and basically said, if you're putting rubbish into your body and not sleeping well so that you don't feel good physically... how do you expect to feel good mentally/ emotionally? This really resonated with me, as I know that when I don't sleep well, and alcohol contributes to not sleeping well, I am really pretty grumpy. So, I'm going to try cutting out the week night alcohol and see what impact it has.
Anyway, yesterday's goals:bookmeister86 wrote: »
- Log everything I eat
- Be in the green 200 over, but I'm happy with that - it's better than the past few weeks!
- No alcohol
- Stay positive
- Read emails at intervals only It's very hard to do this... Particularly because often I'm working on things that involve looking at specific emails...
- Go for walk at lunch
- Pick up new glasses
- (Dinner) Talk to boyfriend in French
- Get on top of emails
- Watch Bake Off!
- No watching TV in bed
- Light off by 11 About 11.15, I wasn't sleepy at 11 so kept reading for a bit

- run the dishwasher again

- training
- figure out dinner
- bed at a reasonable time Like 9:30ish or something
So I've been up up since about 4ish. But was in and out of sleep, tossing and turning since 2:30. It's very annoying. But I managed to get a good chunk of my outline done so that makes me really happy. I'm really going in-depth into it. But it'll make actually writing it a lot easier for me.
I'm going to call out of work today but go back tomorrow. I still have a bad stuffy nose. My cough is bad when I actually cough which I don't do all that frequently. I'm taking cold medicine that has a cough suppressant in it. So, that's been helping a lot. I just wish the sinus pressure and headache would go away. I'm hoping to be back to work tomorrow so I at least have one day in.
I'm taking Friday off because I'm meeting a girlfriend and going to a women's getaway with my church. I'm excited about that. The weekend was supposed to be in June but with Covid and everything they postponed it until this weekend. It's going to be a bit cold but I'll just make sure to wear layers and bring a blanket for the actual message meetings.
I have to do a bit of laundry today so that I actually have clean clothes to bring to the weekend. Lol. I'm just gonna do it at my parent's house instead of going to the laundromat. No point in spending an hour and a half there when I feel so *kitten*. I'm probably just going to do a single load of necessities than do more after I get home from the weekend.
Okay, onto some goals!
Today I will:
- post
- call out of work/text R
- take cold medicine when I'm supposed to
- work on the outline/try to finish
- figure out dinner for me
- do training!
- empty dishwasher
- do laundry/create a packing list!4
