My weight loss has stalled but abruptly it's not a matter of "size up for sloppy comfortable, size down for looks good but tight," because the size up is just too big now to stay up. So that's progress, but I'd like to see scale progress too! I've done this long enough not to get too upset, though. It'll happen.
I haven't done yoga in almost 3 weeks. I did some last night and today. Here's the best part, I was amazed that I was able to get deeper into my poses than I previously had. And that it stopped raining and now I go hit up a bike rip.
9 October: I was surprised and very pleased to weigh in at 77.6 kg this morning after exercise. That's the lowest I have been for a few years and very nearly into the top of my maintenance range (77.5 kg will be the top). Next goal is to be at this weight in the morning before exercise...
Not quite got to this, but I did hit 77.1 kg after exercise this week, and 77.7 kg before exercise at the weekend. This means that I am consistently over 75% of my way to goal, and 77.1 kg was over 84%. Looking forward next to under 78 kg consistently before exercise, and hitting under 77 kg after exercise! So nearly into maintenance! But I've decided that maintenance will kick in when my monthly average eight (mean) gets to below 77 kg. This month it's (currently) at 78.18 kg, so that should be next month.
My current mini-goal is to reach my high school football playing weight of 255# by Thanksgiving. I first set out to get there by Halloween, but I've been hovering in the 260s for a few weeks. Still working to get on track. Today has been
encouraging.
Today, for the briefest flickering moment, I saw 69.9kg on my scale, before settling on 70.0kg. I underate yesterday, so I'm sure I'll be up again tomorrow. But before fleetingly seeing a sub 70kg weight on the scale, I didn't realise how important that threshold is to me. Probably more important than my (provisional) end goal of a normal BMI (68kg) and just as important as going from obese to overweight.
My next mini-goal is breaking into the 120s(then I’ll be in the home stretch-10 pounds till my goal of 120). Currently I am at 134.8. I am hoping to be under 130 by the end of the month. It’s so exciting cause honestly the 120s is a very happy place for me to be (I feel my best) and this is when I really want to be adding in lifting/strength. The last leg of changing my lifestyle and health and introducing the last piece. Maintenance and recomp.
It’s October 20th. I weighed myself this morning and I was 131.2 lbs. which means I’ve lost 58.8 pounds so far since April 21st. Nearly 60 lbs in 6 months, which is just a mind blowing pace. This past week I had a few days where I ate at maintenance and I haven’t walked(I was exposed to a covid positive person and decided to not needlessly stress my body out in case it needed to fight the illness). Thankfully I found out this afternoon I am covid negative and will be getting right back to exercise(walking) and eating for a loss. Even with my slight hiccup, I should at least get down to 130 by the end of the month, maybe down to 129.___ something. I am super pumped for this goal.
Which is why I am back here getting excited. It will mean a 60+ lb weight loss. Which is just a crazy number. Especially because when I started this I thought it was so out of reach to get down to this weight and shape again. So I just made myself focus on all the mini goals and celebrate each goal I hit.
Now, All these tiny baby steps have really carried me to these last ones. And I am forever grateful that I finally took those first steps back in April. Even though it seemed impossible. Now it’s all so much easier than it was at the beginning. I have habits, knowledge, and my good health. It all just snowballed. Good job past me! You are honestly and truly the real badass that found the courage and strength to get this rolling.
My clothes are starting to fit better. I want to be able to wear some of the t-shirts and dress shirts that I have. Also, I've noticed slow, steady progress without having to change my diet to something that I can't do naturally/long term.
This was my scale in August. It is the lowest weight I've been at since I was a child. I'm up a bit, but getting back there, and staying there is motivating me right now.
