8/10: 267.5 Its a work in progress, still waiting for that big drop but so far it has been slow coming.
8/17: 268.0 Am I disappointed in losing only 4 lbs this year? Yep. Am I still determined to have a great year of losing wt and getting healthier? Yep.

10/28 265.5 Yes It has been awhile but the fight continues. I have been doing some short term challenges as well and it has been a battle. Down 6.5 lbs this late in the year is not that exciting but its 6.5 lbs less than I weighed Jan 1st. Yes my goals have changed this late in the year but if I hit my target Jan 1 2021 I will be quite happy. Next weigh in Nov 1st, hey we have two more months left and a lot can happen in 60 days. Keep at it folks.

7 weeks till 2021 🎉
A pound a week seemed reasonable in January until I checked out back in the spring and then gained even more. 15 lb loss in 2019; gained back 5 before 2020; gained back 6 more during pandemic spring 2020. Starting again in August to continue my journey! I need to quit losing the same pounds over and over. If you are tired of starting over, STOP giving up.
I'll turn 60 this year and really want to get into Onederland and make it stick this decade!
2019 Starting Weight: 245 (1/2/2019) BMI 43.4
2020 Starting Weight: 235 (1/1/2020) BMI 41.6
Goal weight: <200 in 2020
Current weight: 214.5 BMI 38.1
Total weight lost: 30.5
Past week's successes: Controlled the food in a challenging environment while supporting my mom through her husband’s sudden hospitalization after a fall, ICU, Hospice, Memorial. I basically organized the meals & cooked for everyone so that our scales were not going up!
This week's challenges: Continued stressful week ahead caring for my mom and driving to Arkansas for the funeral. It will be difficult to get my 100 miles of walking in November if I continue to let other things get ahead of my personal priorities. Need to care for myself as I care for others!

Every day is a new beginning. While my logging hasn't improved, my running has. Completed a half marathon training run yesterday in celebration of my 62nd birthday. Still haven't broken that 3:00 mark but I'm so close I can almost grab it. Will get in at least one more before my organized half on Jan 3.5 -

Past week's successes: Walked most days but lots of days in the car to South Texas and to Arkansas. Funeral and tons of food off plan. Roller coaster scale week due to all the travel, but today and earlier in the week saw the same thing my mom’s scale showed last Monday … consider being under 215 a success!
This week's challenges: This week 2 book clubs, DH’s birthday and our anniversary … plus my mother returns after visiting relatives and we’ll need to help her adjust. It is going to be difficult for her without her husband … and also adds another element for my sister & I to consider and think through if she is able to live on her own.

Week 46. Holding the line
Spent a few weeks enjoying my eldest before she headed off to live with her mother in California to attend school on-line from there. Wasn’t as diligent in my diet so we could enjoy her favorite foods and activities. Getting back into the swing of things is taking some adjustment (cooking for two instead of three), but I’m slowly working to get back on track, pushing to under the curve before she returns for Thanksgiving.
Starting weight: 233 lbs
Goal weight: 165 lbs
Current weight: 189 lbs
Total weight lost: 44 lbs, +.3 lbs since last entry (week 42)
This Week’s Successes:
Still riding and started walking as well in preparation for a “Tough Turkey 5k” my sister and sister-in-law challenged me to do. Sticking with my logging and have kept under my adjusted calorie targets on most days, though no days above 2,000. I guess holding the line under 190 is a success, but it feels hollow as the pounds lost number falls under the weeks passed number.
This Week’s Challenges:
Rain. Hurricane Eta threw a wrench in my riding earlier in the week, but it cleared it and I was able to get in a couple good rides before the rain returned. Not used to walking, so my feet are complaining. Still finding less healthy snacks in the pantry that make their way into my day; not many, but caving in on a Zebra cake doesn’t feel as bad when i’m losing…5 -

I've started over so many times this year. Starting is always better than giving up.
Success this past week: ran a 10k trail run. Got lost in the woods due to missing marker and did an extra .5 miles. Ran it again yesterday morning . Have completed a training half a couple of times, so I feel pretty good about my upcoming race in Jan.
Challenges: getting my head back in the process. I've found the only way to stay away from cholesterol meds is to cut out all animal fats. Struggling with adding enough protein without the added carbs.1 -

Current weight (28-day average):
182.5?
(Inaccurate scale readings due to dressings/clothes/intake.)
Weekly change (28-day average):

Cumulative change (Month/Quarter/Year):
-+0.9/-5.0/-14.8
This week's successes:- I'm here. Again. Finally.
- Making all types of health-related appointments.
This week's challenges:- Still emotionally burned out
So yeah... Hi?
It's been hard for me to do much of anything lately, including logging in to MFP. Broke my streak of over 400 days. That was a gut punch. Broke it again after a 10-ish day streak. Frustrating, but whatever... I have committed to getting back to at least logging in and looking through the news feed each day. An MFP friend recommended setting an alarm on my phone, which I figured is probably the best chance to get back to some semblance of consistency, so I started that today.
I have resigned myself to some minor weight gain overall. I started the post-surgical journey around 186 (188 on the average), and it seems as though my weight is returning, and my appetite has been through the roof, with a few binges thrown in. BUT, then I see, between the increased eating and careful supplementation I've been on, an increased rate of healing in my foot wound. Don't get me wrong -- it was healing before, but the pace has really seemed to take off recently. So, perhaps I just need to back off mentally and let things be as they will be. I plan to try to avoid future binges, and hopefully it will be easier with an increased calorie allowance, but will commit to not restricting afterward if another one happens, so that my body can be in the right "mode" to build itself up and repair.
The mental game has been a poor one since discharge from the hospital. As much as I appreciate peace, quiet, and organization, which I generally have at the hotel, the isolation really gets to me. I'll be in this place until at a minimum late January, as the doctor shifted gears and decided he's not going to evaluate me for any weight bearing, including light/partial, until after the external fixator (a miniature one which is a bar attached above and to the inside of the left foot) is removed and that he will not consider that until we've had a full 3 months on it, which puts the removal in mid-January at the earliest.
I'm sitting on a 50/50 chance of getting to keep my big toe and the metatarsal (long bone behind the toe). The bone infection my body has been fighting seems to thankfully be losing the battle, though, as my wound has now grown in to where the bone does not show through anymore in surgery. Oh yeah, surgery count on the foot is now up to 5. Number 6 will likely be three weeks from this Tuesday that just passed. To keep things interesting, my body has decided that it has had too much work in the right arm through the increased use in supporting my body, etc., and I now have a diagnosis of tennis elbow. Not sure if that's fully it, as the pain is worst just above the elbow, not in the forearm side, but either way, it's a soft tissue injury. X-rays showed the bones are in great shape, so I guess there's at least that. My good foot has had some pain this week too, and I fear I'm heading toward a stress injury there, but what can I do? I'm already pretty darn sedentary...
Anyway, long story short, things aren't great, but there does seem to be good progress where it matters with the foot situation, even if the doctor is dragging out the process for me to begin weight bearing and walking again.
I'm hoping to check in here once a week going forward, and plan to jump aboard the next run of this, even though I've made the decision to slow things down at least for now. Either way, the accountability has helped me torch what will probably be at least 10 pounds over the course of the year. Even if it's only 5, it's 5 down and not up. I think that's the way I need to try to see things going forward.
Hope the rest of you are doing OK.

This week's successes: Getting back into deficit after a maintenance break.
This week's challenges: Extremely low motivation (for life-ing in general -- not out of the norm, as I battle physical and mental health issues on an ongoing basis).
A heads up: I will likely go faster than 1 pound/week for the first 4-ish months, then looking to tighten up and go into a slow loss followed by a recomp phase. I'll likely make 52 pounds of weight loss on the scale with some skin loss (hopefully), along with lean mass having to do with the support of the fat stores I have. I am aiming to maintain/increase muscle mass and bone density, so that may throw off the scale results. I do hope to reach my goal body fat percentage by the year's end, whatever scale weight that puts me at.3 -
Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in day out.
3 weeks till 2021 🎉
A pound a week seemed reasonable in January until I checked out back in the spring and then gained even more. 15 lb loss in 2019; gained back 5 before 2020; gained back 6 more during pandemic spring 2020. Starting again in August to continue my journey! I need to quit losing the same pounds over and over. If you are tired of starting over, STOP giving up.
I'll turn 60 this year and really want to get into Onederland and make it stick this decade!

This week's challenges: My own personal mind games … there is nothing in my way this week to focusing on what I’m eating and getting exercise. Don’t let 213 slip away!

11/8 264.0 down 8 on the year, still time to do some good, the fight continues

@dlhollin1 - I'm with you ... I started off this year with good intentions and then let it slip away from me. But patting myself on the back for stopping that insanity in August and getting back on track. My very simple goal is to now weigh less each year on Jan 1 whether or not I hit my vision goal ... weighing less should be celebrated!3

Keeping it together is the key as we cruise into the holidays. My strategy is salad with chicken for my lunches this week. So far so good! 2 pounds down this week....and 18.7 since June 1st. Feeling fabulous! Let’s keep the downward momentum going.
