For all runners. No matter what age, what level. Surround yourself here with other runners. Feel free to comment, introduce urself and add each other for endless inspiration. I'm new to running at 37 years old and I have no idea how this is going to pan out, but I have heard that runners are like one big family so lets support each other.

Lots of fun runners here!3 -
Hi
I have been running off and on for years. Really planning on upping the ante next year though and am hoping to complete my first marathon (started training 2 weeks ago). Did my first half marathon last year and at that point decided that I didn't want to do anything longer than that but then this year something changed in me. I am also definitely a plodder. What has helped keep me going in the latter part of this year has been signing up to virtual challenges (definitely pushed me out of the door when lazyitis might have taken over).7 -
I started running for the first time in my life at age 39 and have loved it ever since! My true passion is trail running (but I also run pavement) My favorite thing to do is run downhill... it feels like flying! Feel free to add me and happy running to all!10

RunWithBees, hi there. I have just bought some new Karrimor trainers (for road/tarmac). I'd like to eventually do some full on trail running. What footwear do u use?2
-
Runner here and I started a little later too, mid thirties! Running is my addiction. Feel free to add me!
Adding: I ran my first Marathon this year, Austin Marathon in February, and I was training for 2021 until it was cancelled/date changed and downgraded to Half. I deferred it and now I'm looking forward to Texas Trail Running Festival Marathon 2021!2 -

Ummm... really wish I could recommend some but you just happened to pick the one wrong runner to ask... let’s just say I’m an “unconventional” runner I don’t wear shoes I never set out to be a barefoot runner, it just happened this way but it’s so fun I’ve been at it for 7 years and it works for me. I’m sure someone else has some good shoe recommendations for you though!

Loving it, they are! They're running at least one every month. That's who's putting on the festival!
I see that you're a trail runner!1 -
I like to think of myself as a runner - more thinking than doing a lot of the time though! When I get into it I love it, but I get out of the habit easily and then I have to start again, I must have done C25K at least 6 times.... I’m back at it again this year now the temperature has cooled down in South Florida.Hoping this will be the time it sticks!4

Just signed up for my first 50km! I'm terrified super excited13

Hi. I didnt start running til i was in my 40s. Had a great running buddy for a while but then they had to stop due to injuries. Without the discipline of meeting someone else at a set time i am rubbish about getting out. Last November i joined a local group and they a lovely bunch, had a great few weeks, then got pneumonia, back for 3 weeks and we went into lockdown! Back now and trying to get back into a rhythm. Ran my first half last year, if it goes ahead i have a place in next years event.5

One day I'll run it, that's a dream of mine...0 -
I started running about 9 years ago, at age 54. My first two years were plagued with injuries from doing too much too soon, but eventually it more or less resolved and I was able to continue running regularly. I did my first HM in 2014, my first full in 2015. I've done 5 marathons so far, including Boston in 2018. I start training for a spring marathon this week. I have no idea whether it will be allowed to happen, but I'm acting as if it will. I run 35-40 mpw normally, more when training for a race, of course.12

Just finished a super fun 10K It rained a bit last night so there were plenty of puddles on the trail to splash through!4
-
Had a super stressful day. And my run looked like it: I ran fast - and super short. But hey, fastest 1 mile this year, and second-fastest mile ever. Not that I do this very often. But sometimes I feel like updating and surpassing some previous stats. I'm kind of a number girl. Can't help it *shrugs*4

I've admired your pictures before, and I'm astounded that you run barefoot, especially on pavement. I'll have to try it sometime.2 -
Barefoot sounds fun but I fear my feet would die.2
-
Yeah, mine as well. I have very poor connective tissue, and not wearing shoes increases the risk of going through my ankles. And apparently means my skin underneath the feet is super thin and builds up odd calluses, which will only injure the skin next to it. It's not for me.2

My run today was 6 miles in a dense fog that rolled in this morning and still hasn’t burned off yet!7 -
Looks cool! Here it was rain all day, and I ran briefly twice: through sunrise and sunset for a stupid virtual badge2

I started running outside again this year. Oddly it was a new year’s goal - before we even got a whiff of how odd this year would be.
I started running over 25 years ago - it got me through college and grad school. Then, when I had kids, I was a treadmill junky. I’d forgotten how much better I like, and how more calming, running outside was. While the treadmill was a necessity, it was also boring.
So, this year, I’ve lost 20 lbs by going to back to running outside. I’m in the slow runner club. Can’t for the life of me figure out how get faster.
Stick with it! You’ll love it!4 -
I started enjoying running in high school gym class. We were supposed to run around the park and the teacher timed us. The fit girls all did it in under 3 mins, and my time was 7, then lower and lower each time we did it! (We only did it 3 times, but still!)
Since there, I've been an on and off runner. I joined a running program beginning in January, but I anticipate I will not be able to get out there and run in -5 and below weather (I hate the cold, ice, and have poor circulation as it is). I bought a stepper machine instead, but plan on starting my run training sometime between now and April.3 -
Hello everyone. I started really running a few years ago mainly to deal with stress. Have done a few races not too fast but finished them. I've been shifting races towards the obstacle races. I've got 2 of them signed up for next year so I better get into shape lol.6
