Hey all,
Yesterday was pretty dark for me, but today is better (so far). Thank you for the love and support. I'm trying to be productive because that usually cheers me up a bit.
However, I am stumped!
I want to bake something tasty for my family, but I have no ideas! I want to do something I don't make a lot (so not a bread and not chocolate chip cookies). They already ATE the dozen cinnamon rolls I made, so I don't want to make those again either.
Any ideas??
P.S. Nothing with nuts and nothing with raisins; my husband thinks raisins are a lie and my son thinks nuts are a lie and he doesn't like them in his food (crazy people).8 -

Looks like 2 people took you serious.
That was one of my observations this season so far. People might actually be staying home more when sick, like they should be.
And honestly... If people were as diligent with the flu as they have been with covid, the prevalence would be down significantly.
"Stay home if you're sick" was a pipe dream when it was "just the flu" . The expectation was almost understood that unless you were dead, you'd be at work.
Now with masks, hand washing and social distancing... A lot of communicable diseases will naturally reduce in volumes.
Yeah but for how long is the question? We humans get too comfortable too fast. Once masks are not a requirement a lot of the hand washing and staying home when sick won't be a priority anymore because the flu doesn't come with a death sentence like covid does.. Of course these are my thoughts and my opinions only and you're allowed disagree with me 🙂2 -

I'm already on my second batch. I regret remembering they existed. 😭
I'm going to make these tonight 😋3 -
Aww thank you!
It is SO MUCH BETTER! Yesterday I managed to get my arm vertical enough to grab onto the top of my power rack and eased into a hang. I felt something pop and I wonder if maybe somehow I had gotten out of alignment. I sat into the hang for a bit and stretched out the muscles around my shoulder and I feel significantly better today. (I even got to sleep last night!)
I confess, I am nervous about trying to lift (because that pain was very real), and yet... I want to lift anyways. I may give it another day and then (try to) ease into a light session. My pride seems to be directly proportional to how much weight is on the bar, and I'm often my own worst enemy.4 -

Oh I agree entirely. Complacency is the enemy of progress. I think it's a momentary blip in the grand scheme of things. (Also welcome people to disagree. haha)3 -

A friend of mine brought Christmas Crack to work last year and I almost went out of my mind. I need to get her recipe, but this one sounds pretty close. (She didn't use nuts on hers and actually sprinkled a bit of crushed candy cane on top for a holiday flair)

Um, well totally guilty confession: I have a gym crush. I'm guilty because I'm married. Not gonna lie, always secretly hoping he'll be there when I go--which he was today. Since not only am I married, but typically totally awkward around attractive opposite sex, I just crush from afar.7

People die from “the Flu” every year.
I personally knew a 26yr old young woman who got a mild case of the Flu and 2 weeks after she recovered she had a massive coronary in the the middle of the night.
Her husband tried to keep her going but she was brain dead by the time the ambulance got there.
An autopsy was done, apparently the Flu had done massive damage to her heart.
The doctors said there was no way of knowing or stopping it.

I hope the disagree on my post above was a mistake.
I stated facts that happened, what is there to disagree with in that horribly tragic situation?
Please, if it was on purpose have the balls to explain why you disagree.6 -

I double checked to make sure it wasn't me (it wasn't). It doesn't make sense why anyone would disagree with your statement or your personal experience..
So sad to read of your loss 😔1 -
‘Stick your neck out’ is synonymous with being brave
‘Being a chicken’ is synonymous with not being brave
But when a chicken is being a chicken and sticks his neck out, he gets his head lopped off

Indeed. I was able to get two packages in the mail, clean up around my home a bit, jam out to some music and get some shopping done.
Our car's battery decided to die today, so that wasn't great BUT I managed not to curse the world, be mad about it and we got a jump that powered us to an Autozone to buy a replacement, so... it ended well.7 -
About to drop $600 + on bike parts cause I have a fetish for shiny silver things. The drivetrain is also pretty cooked.
I'm justifying by the fact I haven't owned a car in 2.5 years. I haved save over $2000 in rego fees and prolly around the same in fuel.5 -

It is happening everywhere. I only have one forum wish for Christmas, that would be to get rid of disagrees over here in chit/chat and fun and games. Go ahead and keep it in the debate section but get rid of it everywhere else. It hurts feelings and many newbies are shot right out of the saddle with their first post with massive disagrees and they never ever come back. Save disagrees for debate only and then just go to town and have at it. Save all chop busting discussions for debate.
I could write a letter but I don't know who to send it to. I don't agree that disagrees make a forum a nicer place. No, they don't. I have been on other forums and they didn't have any woos or disagrees or negative feedback and there weren't any fights over anything. Anything started, it was stopped and it just made for a pleasant experience all of the way around. There is a way. I know there is a way.
You can have a welcoming committee but when a newbie encounters all kinds of negative reactions right out of the chute they ain't coming back. I remember many of these people and they had no idea what hit them upside the head. They are new and they don't know there's abrasive people just waiting to pounce on their tender hearts. It ain't good and a change, a positive change is love overdue. Let kindness reign supreme.
