I started April 2020
Incredible job!!!!8 -
Wow! You and I are similar starting weights. I am 5'2" and I just started in November 2020 at 219. You are my inspiration. I am down 19 pounds but seem to be stuck. I hope I can get as small as you. You look amazing!! Way to go.6

I'm 5'3" and 56yo I was 167lbs then started weight watchers , now I'm 148 but stalled about 2 months ago. I began counting calories to see what I'm actually taking in a day. just as I suspected I was consuming way too many calories even though I was staying within my weight watchers points. There are 0 point foods that can really give you the false sense you are eating well. They are 0 points but not 0 calories. I'm down 2 lbs now since sticking to a 1,200 calorie a day way of eating. My goal is 135.15

Hi all! Just busting into this thread to ask if anyone with similar goals would like to populate my news feed. I'm 5'1", 144lbs looking to get to 120. I have managed it before here some years ago and I'm back to try again!8

Feel free to add! 5"3 146 and working on recomp. Probably 135 or so is my goal.4

@MichelleMcKeeRN thank you, I’m doing keto with intermittent fasting. Don’t have an exercise plan. I’m constantly running after my two small kids so I’m counting that as my workout 😊
Which IF plan are you doing?
I am seriously impressed with your results!

I’m 5’2 - started at 193; currently 144 and plan a goal range between 135-138.

@MichelleMcKeeRN i do 18:6 at least 3x/week. It’s been amazing. Feels like the weight is literally just falling off.4

Wowza...you guys rock! I'm assuming the posts that have 'disagree' attached to them are mistakes? I mean how could anyone disagree with these transformations!5

Very happy to read these success stories. I am 5ft 2in and struggled to lose weight, after age 55. I once could eat 3000 calories per day and my weight never got over 130 pounds. I gained 100 pounds in ten years after age 45. Every year I cut out a snack or junk food and no weight changes. I hate looking at the scale. My highest weight was 245, today I am 222 and holding. I probably lose 2 pounds per month, eating between 1200 to 1800 calories per day. The fibromyalgia symptoms cause so much fatigue that it's very hard to get enough energy to stand for more than 15. I use a Cubii for 30 minutes twice per day. For 2021, I want to end the year weighing 190 pounds. Why is weight loss so hard with short women?14

Thanks ladies! Wow, you've made great progress. I've never seen a websignt just for us 5"2' ers. I'll try 1200, some strength training, walking and let you know how it goes. I like the idea of cyclying keto or paleo just to start up then adding back in the healthier stuff.4

I always wonder about the dislikes. I have posted things like drink lots of water to curb appetite and have received dislikes. I wonder if someone actually disagrees with that or if they are just going around giving dislikes just because.

I think because the 'hug' button is next to the 'dislike' button, people push the wrong one in error.6 -

I have reached for the “hug” button 3 times lately, only to see “disagree” show up. Of course I changed it quickly! But have I missed any others? From now I’m double checking to make sure I don’t.9 -
5'2 here! I started at 172 in April 2019, got down to 124 and am currently at 129. I'd like to hit 120, or even 117, but I'm also not stressed about it. I count calories by weighing most of my food and keep an eye on saturated fat. MFP gives me 1250 calories a day, plus I eat back 70-100% of my exercise calories. I used to tell myself that I have an active job so eating that donut for break and another donut for lunch dessert was ok. Then I would have two helpings of whatever meaty cheesy carby deliciousness we had for dinner and a full bowl of ice cream for dessert Well, my FitBit and MFP opened my eyes to the reality of that situation! I do enjoy a donut occasionally, and don't track one day a week, but even on my non tracking day I don't go crazy with my calorie consumption. I eat a lot more vegetables now, and much smaller portions of the calorie dense foods that my kids and husband can eat with impunity. I run 3 or 4 times a week (very slowly) and ride my bike to and from work (5 mile commute, not super long), so I get my cardio in. Someday I'll incorporate strength training! I can feel my little floating ribs at the bottom of my rib cage whenever I get below 130, and that really makes me want defined abs for some reason. I love fitting into size 4 jeans in almost any brand. I still order multiple sizes from Amazon when I need new pants, but I keep sending the 6s and 8s back! Hurray for free returns 😂18

Hi! I am 5ft 2ins, and my starting weight was around 220lbs. I was always going lifting weights at the gym, then I moved half way across the country to move in with my boyfriend. The weight piled onto my heaviest in over 15 years. I started lifting again in January last year, but I was very inconsistent throughout the year. My eating wasn't too bad and I somehow lost 21lbs and my goal this year is to be more consistent! I wouldn't mind going down to around 140lbs for now and see how it goes. I'm now lifting 5x a week and eating the same from last year. I also have PCOS and had the implant fitted in my arm in December, so now I have to work as doubly hard!9

trying again....sigh. I'm 53 years old (where does metabolism go after 50?), 5'2". Down to 117lbs 5 years ago and back up to 132lbs, currently 126lbs. Would love to see 115 but will be happy to see 120. Walk everyday to reach 10K steps a day and try to do strength training 3 times a week. Track everything I eat but tend to fall short. Definately a long process, I tend to see little or no success on a weekly basis so trying to focus on long term. Congrats to everyones success!14

I'm in a similar situation weight and age-wise, just slightly older... I miss the days of my 20s when I could eat without too much worry! have had success with WW before but hate to pay full price, so I move between that and MFP. I find it so much easier to maintain when I can run but am nursing an injury that is taking far longer than I expected to heal and haven't been able to run since November. I wasn't quite where I wanted to be then and have crept up a little since. And found over the last year that it was a little too easy to first have a glass of wine every dinner, and then later to start to refill the glass. So I am seriously cutting back on those tasty but empty calories right now. I've also found it easy to get a little casual in my tracking which doesn't help! Am 133, wanting to get back to 118-120, 5'3 when I stand up nice and straight

I am 5'2", age 53. In the before photo I was 143lbs and 109lbs on the left, just before I competed in a bodybuilding show. My normal weight is about 115-118lbs.
I lift weights, do Crossfit, run, mountain bike, cross country ski… and enjoy a glass of wine and the occasional cupcake

I have lost weight using this app before as a tool. Highest weight not pregnant was 170lb, maybe more. Lowest weight I got down was 125lb, then found out I am preggo with baby #2. I am postpartum 1 year now and down 139 lb. Goal weight is 115-120lbs. Wish me luck.
I am doing 1200 cal/day intermittently. 3 months on strict calorie counting, then 3 months off. I maintain within that 3 months off counting.6 -

I’m just under 5’1” and I started this round(last and final lol) of weight loss August 2019:
217lbs
Size 16/18 & XXL
Current weight:
169
Size 9/10 and medium to small top(depends on brand)
The full length photos are me at 217& 174.
And then the face photos are at 216& 170.
Id say I have what I consider a dense body type, so even though I’m still “obese” at this weight and height, my appearance isn’t too bad.
I would like to be closer to 130-140 as my end goal. Hopefully i can be reach that by summer.
this is so inspiring!! I'm almost exactly where you were at the starting weight/sizes. thanks for sharing!!! you look awesome!!14 -
Here's what happens after 60: I was "always" 5'3", but I'm now 5'2", as my body succumbs to gravity! That means at 140 lbs I'm officially overweight. I've been as high as 165 lbs and as low as 110. My "best weight"- and goal- is 125. It's been extremely hard to get the calories to where I'm eating correctly but losing- about 1100-1200 a day and not eating back any of the exercise calories (60-90 mins/day). I've always had a metabolism with no "margin of error" ( my first diet was at 11) and that margin is razor thin now. Good luck everyone!!

This is a great topic and thank you for sharing! I'm 5'3 (on a good day). I've been 135 +/- 3 pounds for my entire life (not counting my 2 pregnancies). For my 40th birthday present to myself, I'm aiming to weigh 125 or less by May. I'm currently at 127.2 (for the first time in my adult life). Part of me has always thought these lower numbers are impossible for me, but everyone's posts here are encouraging! Why not? I hope to hit 125 and then remain in the 120s for the next 20 years. I know I can maintain, it's just a matter of getting there! I was slightly overweight in high school/college (successfully dropped from mid 140s to mid 130s in college) and maintained that range until now. We can do it!7
