It's weigh-in Monday for me!
But first, I forgot to add my other measurements to my introductory post. I'm taking measurements at the beginning of each month so I can see progress beyond the scale. I measured on 3/1.
MEASUREMENTS: Starting ---> Current
Neck: 16.5" ---> 16"
Shoulders: 46.5" ---> 45.75"
Bicep (relaxed): 17" ---> 16.5"
Chest: 45" ---> 45"
Bust: 51" ---> 49"
Waist (at smallest): 44.25" ---> 43"
Waist (at belly button): 51" ---> 48"
Hips: 48" ---> 47.75"
Thigh: 25.5" ---> 25.75"
Calf: 18" ---> 17.25"
And now, the weigh-in!
Age: 44
Height: 5'4
SW: 242.4 (1/25/21)
3/1: 232.1
3/8: 231.8
3/15:
3/22:
3/29:
March GW: 228 lbs
Small loss this week, but that was expected! The week before I had a bigger loss (-2.5 lbs). I also increased my calories, and I started strength training in earnest. I always have a bit of water retention when I start strength training (or when I was fit, when I increased my weights or reps). The scale is moving in the correct direction, and more importantly, my strength, stamina, and energy are improving!
Today is the gym with my two kiddos who like to come with me (cardio & upper body). It's rainy here near Tokyo, but it reminds me of home (Oregon).
Have a great Monday, everyone! (Whenever Monday comes for you, lol.)8 -
Morning, Monday is weigh day for me.
Age: 44
Height: 5'4"
SW (11 Jan 2021): 250.6 (yikes, biggest ever)
CW (1 March 2021): 236.6
GW: 130
1/3/21: 236.6
8/3/21: 237.4
It's a gain, but this week I started doing BodyPump again and I was in a 7k cal deficit, so I know it's not fat, probably just water retention.
Have a great week, folks!

@Arralethe I love BodyPump! Are you doing it at a gym, or at home on demand?0

On demand at home - I do Bodybalance too. I'm too out of shape for Attack, but I'm working up to it0 -
Hi Ladies
Please can I join you, I'm back at the beginning again after losing a good amount of weight then thinking I could maintain without logging my foods or weighing myself regularly so in the last 2 years I've regained all the weight I lost. Today I'm starting again and hoping to lose weight and keep it off this time.
Height 5ft 3ins
Current weight 220lbs (08.03.21)

@Arralethe - My favorite is BodyCombat. I can't quite keep up yet, sometimes I have to jog in place, but I'm determined to get there someday! 😂
@kelMee2 - Hi! I'm a newbie, too! I have lost and regained, myself, so I definitely feel you! These ladies have been super supportive!6 -

My low number is back. I saw it this weekend too and kept thinking I wouldn't see it today. There it is. Now to see the next lower numbers that I haven't seen in many years.
I guess I found my magic meal for dinner with Mom on Sundays that we order out. Actually I was quite full from it so only had half. I usually check calories when I get home but it was too late last night. I could have eaten the whole thing. So a little low. I know now for next time that I can definitely have all.
Went to the gym Sat. Kept to just an easy treadmill session. Tonight I had planned to do strength training6 -

I am SOO guilty of this myself! Trying this month to just log everything. I find if I do that, I am MUCH more aware of what I put in my mouth when I know I have to write it down!!5 -

You got this! We've all been there! One step back, two steps forward...2 -
Hi all of you wonderful women. I am restarting after slacking off for a couple months. It makes me feel more motivated reading all your posts. It's one day at a time so going to try and make small changes. I never thought it would be so hard to lose weight as I got older! I'm coming up to my 70th birthday in April so it's kinda scary to think about. I'm at 267 lbs and have a bone on bone knee. But with a brace, I can do some walking, with the weather improving. Stay brave ladies. You're all terrific!!7

Did not get to the gym today as both my partners are having issues, and if they're both having issues I probably need to be here. But I cleaned out and inventoried the spice cabinet, painted the inside of the cabinet (stupid unwashable MDF) and wrapped the shelf in shelf paper. It's not entirely the way I want it, as I need to buy more spice racks, but it's better. Also sat down and made a list of the stuff I'm out of and have realized I'm probably going to drop about $200 at the spice store when I go. (blush) But I like to cook and part of the way I make my food satisfying is good and liberal use of spices. (Plus, vanilla is really expensive these days.)
And by buying the breakfast sausage seasoning and Italian sausage seasoning I can make turkey sausage where normally I would use pork sausage, and that's a definite savings in fat content.
Now I just need to get a grill for all these lovely meat recipes I have....6 -
Love to see an active thread!
@kelMee2 Welcome! It's never too late to join this group, RavenStCloud makes a new thread with a delightfully inspiring title each month.
@finngirl61 Welcome to you as well!
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 sounds like you've had a productive day! Do let us know how the DIY turkey sausage comes out.

happy with that! 1.3 pounds down this week.
I find the best way for me to stay on track is to look forward to the food that I'm eating by cooking what I like.
This week I made roasted chicken thigh "WINGS" I CRAVE hot sauce and these were really good. I made and ate a slice of vanilla sprinkle cake for my friend's birthday and had a glass of champagne as well. If i can not deprive myself of the celebratory times I find it easier to pass on a cocktail on say a mundane tuesday night. looking forward to another pound lost for this week.
and the one thing out everyday has been so inspiring. I'm giddy when I see people picking up things from the curb that I have decided to let go of and I managed to sell a few items this week too! double win!
Have these pandemic times made anyone else feel like living more minimally consuming and buying less? It has me7 -

@yooosteph - Hi!! I'm a newbie here, too! I'm currently living in Japan, but I'm from the US (the Northwest, specifically). With winter approaching, I'm guessing you're in the southern hemisphere! Nice to meet you! 😊2

Weigh in day, yesterday and logged 256.1, so on target for my monthly goal -- yay!
Spring is so close -- I love it!5 -
@holdthefries I have definitely been in the clean out, organize, and downsize mode. It is very liberating! Always nice to make some extra money selling things that are no longer useful around here and donating feels good, too.2

Whew!! I had typed a post on Saturday, but, never posted it. Love the activity in the group!! I had to go back 3 pages to see where I left off!! 😉😄😀
@SammyKlingler Awesome job!! Consistency is definitely key to success.
@Laughter_Girl I always love your posts. I find so much stuff on YouTube and the more I look, the more I find!! My 6 pack from laughing and smiling is also hiding from me!! 🤣😂😅
@goal06082021 Congrats on both the scale and non-scale victories!!
@girlinkaz Awesome goals. I think as far as you remain consistent, the weight will keep coming off. Even if you do stall a little bit, it eventually comes off if you remain consistent.
@hap2go Your post made me laugh!! I often tell people that I am a 'meatatarian' not just a carnivore!! I feel your hubby! I have to see some type of protein on my plate and I also do not like mushrooms. 😅😁
@sarah12277 That's great that you were able to get her a guest pass. Your plan of slow and steady sounds like a great one to help keep you from burning out. Congrats on the loss!!
@Tarzan37 Woo-hoo!! Yay for the non-scale victories!!
@wanderinglight lol!! I am actually interested in the menopause update. I rarely find people that speak about it. I am saving your action list for when I or my sisters need it. Thank you for posting it. I am also glad that you are seeing an improvement.
@tianneclements Love your goals.
@misplacedmama Welcome and congrats on your loss to date!!
@KeriA Awesome goals. I hope you get to the pre-new scale weight soon. Happy Belated B-day!!!
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 Yay!! Glad to see you back. How are you doing? I love reading about all the exotic-sounding dishes you make. Please send me some recipes....😁 (I plan on trying new recipes after my term is over). I love spices and cooking all kinds of foods. My place usually smells of what I cooked especially my Nigerian dishes for the whole day!!
@speyerj OMG!! That was a great enlightening episode. I know this is not exactly the same, but, I realized that until I started my weight loss journey, I never really told anyone how much I weighed. My weight was spread more or less proportionally over my body, so, people thought I was just slightly overweight. At the start of my journey and even now, when people tell me, "but, you looked good before, why did you / are you still trying to lose weight?" I ask them, how much do you think I weighed before and they always guess 80 -100 lbs less than what I weighed. I just tell them the truth of how much I really weighed and let them know that my weight loss, is for me to remain healthy and not for anyone else.
@Spotteddingo You are an inspiration. I am so sad and sorry to hear about your mum. I think some of us (myself included) are taught to not 'air our dirty laundry in public' (a saying in Nigeria) and so I at least tend to be really private about personal stuff and it is hard for me to talk about it, even with family. I am grateful that being on here has allowed you to be able to be vulnerable and express it. I am confident that you will continue learning to love yourself and your body!! ❤😍😘
@carrie_anne_r Welcome. Small steps work out great. I love that you are paying attention to yourself!! Keep it up!!
@VickyEltonGreen Way to go!!
@RavenStCloud As always, thank you for the group. Slow and steady does win the race. Thank you so much for the reminder about being consistent.
@kelMee2 Welcome!! This is an awesome group filled with encouraging and inspirational women!!
@finngirl61 Welcome back!!
@holdthefries Congrats on the loss!
@yooosteph Welcome!! It is never too late! I am currently at school in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, but, will be back in the USA at the end of April. Congrats on the loss so far!!
@jackie_leth Congrats on staying on target!6 -
Update:
Today marks 9 months of my weight-loss journey and I am down 94.4lbs (330lbs to 235.6lbs).
Also, I got to day 85 of meeting my steps goal!!20
