Someone noticed my weight loss! I am down 35 pounds and she is the first person to have commented on it. I was beginning to feel like it didn't show. Also I am taking out my summer clothes. While I can still wear a lot of them I look much better in them and I have several things I have been saving for years that I can finally fit into again.22

I'm sure others have noticed, just haven't said anything...congrats on your progress!!7 -
Having hit one of my first major targets, getting my waist below 40, I though I'd share my approach to losing weight and getting fitter.
For me it's all about not giving up, not giving up on the diet and exercise and not giving up all of the things I enjoy most or am slightly addicted to.
So I decided to make a lot of small changes that on their own are insignificant, but when added together have made a big difference. I thought this would be easier than the "cold turkey" approach that I've tried before.
I have listed a few examples of changes that I've made, so I'm sure you'll get the idea behind my thinking,
Replaced 4 finger Kit Kats with 2 finger Kit Kats, still getting my treat / chocolate fix but reduced by 50%
Having 2 biscuits with my afternoon coffee instead of 4 - 50% reduction
Replacing thick sliced white bread with medium sliced wholemeal bread, healthier and less calories
Making all of my own sauces for Pasta, Chillies, Curry's so less salt, less sugar and more exercise whilst cooking my favorite foods
Only using the upstairs toilet, so climbing more stairs and getting more exercise
At the moment this is working much better than the "give up everything" approach I've tried in the past, and I am experiencing steady weight loss for the first time in years, without feeling like I'm missing out on something47 -

Thank you for sharing that. It’s the inspiration I’ve been needing. I have begun something similar in regards to reducing what I eat. I tell myself that I can always have more if I really want it but I start with a smaller portion. Most of the time I don’t go back for more.11 -
today i tried on a size large rain jacket and was able to zip it up, no problem. It is meant to fit loose, but the fact i could zip it over my boobs for amazing! To put in context, my last rain jacket was a 1X.9

I was wearing a ladies size M babydoll tee w/ my alma mater on it and someone asked me if I'd had it since college. I said "nah it's newer".
Inside I was beaming.
When I was in college (graduated 2000) I wore a men's XXL19 -
Started doing Leslie Sansone videos. The first day I could only do three "kick-backs". A week later and I did 24!25

Last March I wore 2x tops and 18w pants. Today I am wearing a medium top and WHITE sz 6 jeans. I haven't worn white pants in over 10 years because I have been so embarrassed by my size. In fact some of my pants are now sz 4s which boggles my mind. Still have 15 lbs. to go to reach the weight that my doctor wants me to be at but determined to get there.28

A guy at work today says, "not trying to be weird, but are you losing weight? You look great!"25

I did a quick 10 minute workout at lunch even though I reeeeaaallly didn’t want to. I felt refreshed after and I’m glad I did it.
I also stopped eating when I got full at dinner. I’d only eaten about half what I’d put on my plate.14 -
@JustVickiLynn I love her workouts! I’ve started doing a mile at lunchtime. It’s a quick 10-15 minutes and I always feel better after.5

Sitting in the car and feeling tiny in the seat with the seatbelt comfortable. Wearing normal shoes and being able to walk very quickly, bend easily and with speed and still feel energized after a long shift at the factory on my feet without excruciating pain. 133 lbs loss and feeling like a totally different person!30

Suddenly the 36 band bra wasn't doing the job any more and I was having tremendous upper back pain. Apparently I am not a 36F/G any more, I am a 34 H.
(I hope I lose some boobage, too; Small band/large cup bras are hard to find and pricey.)17 -
I ordered size 12 dresses online thinking they might be too small. Just placed another order for a size 10 because the one I want is too big!15

I was able to haul in the big pet food box from Chewy without asking for help from my husband or the FedEx guy. And last night I braved my first Zumba class. I knew I'd look like a dork trying to follow the choreography, but I didn't let that stop me from having a good time. Best of all, I had NO problems with the fitness level. Yay!23

I'm really pleased my earlier post has inspired you, and your response has also helped me as it's nice to know that someone else is trying the same sort of things. I'm always convinced that I'll want more, especially biscuits, but I use the time walking back to the biscuit tin to talk myself out of it (it work most of the time but not always)
I sometimes think that I should be following this plan or that plan rather than doing my own thing, but so far I'm 17lbs down which is more than I've ever achieved when following a fixed diet plan, so it seems to be working.
Good luck going forward8 -

I’m on a day off today. My plan was to wake up early to see if I could manage a ride on my young horse and a half hour workout in before getting ready for work (like a trial) my partner is a train driver so his shifts are all over the place. He started at 430 this morning. So his call came in at 3:30, I woke up with him and sent him off to work. The time I would need to be up to fit everything in before work is 430 anyway so instead of going back to bed I got up and headed out to the paddock. This morning was the first time my young colt has been ridden in the dark. He was a little anxious about it so the whole time was spent working on lateral flexion and standing still (he kept moving so I just kept a soft feel on the rein until his feet came to a stop and he softened to the halter)
Then I left straight from the horse paddock (packed my joggers and tights and got changed in my float) for W2D3 of c25k. I got home right on 6:30 so may need to make a few small alterations to fit some stretches and breakfast in before work- I start at 7 and need to be awake a little while before I can eat (the small alterations being things like putting tights on under jeans so I only have to take jeans off and put joggers on, getting off Wrangler 5 minutes earlier etc)10 -

A few little ones - I had to adjust the rearview mirror in my car because my butt is flatter, so I sit lower! Haven't been driving her much so didn't notice till now. Also went grocery shopping on lunch break and hit some delays so I went quite fast across the parking lot - not winded, no issues, my body just kind of said "okay, no big deal" and did what I asked. Finally, today I remembered my promise to my phone fitness coach so I did 15 minutes on the pedaler even though I didn't want to at first.16

I believe the best diet is the one that works for you and you'll stick to. Congratulations on finding what works for you. Remember that it's ok to modify your plan as you need. It's whatever you need.2 -
A few months ago I took off my wedding and engagement rings because they were getting too loose. I put my old high school class ring on in their place, and now that ring keeps spinning around too! I might have to look into having my other rings resized. I don't want to do it too soon, though. I've lost over 100 pounds at this point, but I still have about 50 to go before I'm at my goal weight.18

I got a 1mm gold ring from Etsy that I call my 'safety ring'. I wear it in front of my others to keep them from flying off. Works a treat and is a nice reminder while I still enjoy my jewelry.

I was able to wear a t-shirt that I had bought on vacation 4 years ago and it never looked good. In general, finding clothes in my closet and dresser drawers that I haven't been able to wear and having them fit is like getting a whole new wardrobe. I'm also almost down 4 notches on my belt - closing in on the last one.15

I’ve been experimenting portion sizes to see at what point I really feel full. Today, at both breakfast and lunch, I realized I was eating HALF of what I used to and feeling satisfied.22

My workout leggings went from rolling down my belly (too tight) to sliding down (too loose).
Looks like I'm going to need to buy smaller ones!
[I've been consistently working out for a year, but only recently came back to mfp ~5 weeks ago to start logging food again. It's only during these 5 weeks that the biggest belly shrinkage happened.]19 -
My run felt too short this morning.19
