4/24 118.0 It’s all good. I walked a lot (for me, since COVID) yesterday. Shopping at Walmart and over to the clubhouse for my first in person arts and crafts group in over a year! My new Garmin has been shipped.

Friday-fried potatoes, Saturday-fried shrimp with sriracha sauce, Sunday-Greek salad and 1/2 pita. Too many carbs but it hasn’t caused ever increasing bloat weight. And finally TMI success! My new Garmin is supposed to arrive today.

04/22 …..207.2 ….. After travel yesterday. Meal out was small and healthy but I could have done without the dense dessert. I should have resisted harder. I hope more will not creep up on the scale in the days to come since it sometimes shows up later. More travel today for Covid shot #2. Only about 3-4 hours out total so I will keep my meals at home which will really help. Time to get this done!

04/24 …..206.6 ….. I’m feeling much better today. I was very disoriented yesterday and bloated with the extra water intake after the vaccination. A full day planned today including a tree service cutting down some trees. I will be part of the clean-up crew so I will get in lots of movement today.
04/25 …..206.0 ….. Just over 27,000 steps, over 11 miles and nearly 4000 calories burned so I worked hard in the yard for this downward trend. Downside? Got eat up with gnat bites. No sleep last night. Nothing I tried stopped the itching. I am high allergic to their bites so I am miserable right now with another full day of outside work ahead of me. My right eye is swollen shut. Joy!
04/26 …..204.0 ….. Wow! I was pleasantly shocked at the scale. This extensive yardwork after the trees were removed is really paying off. It’s also keeping things moving right along in the TMI (bathroom) dept. Finished with the clean up now so I won’t be burning 4000 calories a day anymore, but there’s always something I can do out there. I just often need help and I need to keep the crew on the reno projects. I’ll still get my rear end out there and burn something extra everyday. Rain and thunderstorms next 3 days though. Maybe I’ll just do the happy dance inside about the scale progress!
04/27 …..205.4 ….. I think the sudden drops just adjusted themselves so I am okay with this. Weight is still down 1.6 lbs from challenge start. Fat percentage is down (including overnight). My trend weight is continuing down, even with today’s scale read. I had a glucose drop yesterday that I caught quickly before it raged out of control. I corrected it easily and without too many calories or carbs. I slept very good last night with 6 hours which is about 2 hours more than normal. So I know all is well. There was less movement due to rainy weather and some outdoor work being done by the excavating company. However, overall, I am so very very pleased with the progress. My birthday is coming in May. My gift (I hope) to myself is continued progress. Thai food is scheduled for dinner tonight. I will split it in half and eat the rest tomorrow. Pushing water for the impending sodium.
04/28 …..205.6 ….. I didn’t get my Thai food afterall. Apparently the restaurant was closed for a deep cleaning. Divine intervention? I think so! Was starving with no meal planned but I managed to eat proper foods, (just a bit much on the quantity). My son and I took a nice little walk to go pick up my car that was back in the shop. We checked out our new neighborhood. I didn’t realize the horrid incline to get back out. My legs and feet were fine. Even my knees were okay. But my breathing was tough. I had to stop a few times. Very different than my old neighborhood but it offers me a challenge and a goal. My weight trend continues to improve. I am down 1.9% in my body fat in just 2 weeks. My weight is continuing to trend down. Now it says I will reach my goal by 2023 instead of 2054 and 2036 and all those other ridiculous numbers. My trend weight is at its lowest in 13 weeks!
04/29 …..207.2 ….. What?????? Oatmeal for breakfast yesterday, all non-starch veggies for dinner with lite sour cream on some sweet potato. The only thing I can suspect is the sunflower seed kernals (carefully measured out) that were salted for my night snack. Tomorrow will tell if this is temporary water retention from the salt or weight from the fats in the sunflower kernals.
04/30 …..206.2 ….. So frustrated with this process! Middle of the night I experienced a very severe glucose episode. At first it felt like a drop. It started with the unreasonable savage hunger then I went into the feeling drunk and staggering mode. I quickly checked my sugar before stuffing face and it’s a good thing I did. The last thing I needed was food! My sugar was at 565 (should be 80-90). Feeding a low sugar is easy but lowering it when you’ve already taken your meds is very difficult, especially when you cannot think straight. I gulped some apple cider vinegar and went outside in the dark and walked back and forth in my yard. Finally I remembered some old meds I still had (from before weight loss) and took one of those in combo with my regular meds. Finally I lowered to 200. Obviously no sleep last night. Everytime I try to tweak my diet a bit more, I have to deal with these diabetic issues which can be very scary. I’ve got to get past these obstacles, these hurdles. Weight loss will only help my diabetes, if only my body would stop going into survival mode! My scale is at a one pound drop today which I kind of expected after the salty snack caused an increase yesterday. I will celebrate the loss and tread lightly today. Hair appointment day today so there will be lots of sitting. I will try to get in some movement tonight.

Method = calorie counting, avoid sugaring, and I round off my weight to the higher pound (I don't chart half pounds, etc.)
OK, "I'm IN" for this round. My first to participate. My short term goal of 139 by mid May is likely too aggressive, so if I can't accomplish it, I won't be worked up about it. I am being careful to not overly short my calories.

04/24 147 I had a terrific day of "being full" from eating lettuce salads topped with delicious vegetarian chili. That makes a satisfying meal! MmmmMmmm.

Also, I know that if I step on my digital scale three times in a row, it will show 3 different weights! Anyway, I'm going with 146 today, but predict that will be the same number for quite a few days now.
04/26 146 I think I must not have slept well last night, I was zero-energy all day today. I'm finishing up all my nightly chores, so I can zone out and enjoy some hot herbal tea later.

4/23 206.3 Walked 1.4 + 1.5 + 3.4 miles … lots of dog walking! Gardening digging up bushes. 1520 cal, 36 net carbs, 2 glasses wine.
04/24 206.7 Walked 2.3 + 1.4 miles, 1381 cal, 86 net carbs, 3 glasses wine. Sister stopped by for dinner and more than usual bottles of wine opened. Definitely a TGIF.
04/25 208.1 Walked 1.6 miles, 1967 cal, 158 net carbs, 1 Little Sunday Cocktail + remaining 1/2 can Vinny New York Bubbly Wine, 1 glass wine. Virtual cooking class with Underbelly Hospitality making mac & cheese with pork & smoked bacon sausage. Rich foods … scale was not kind to me this morning.
04/26 207.7 Walked 1.5 + 3.2 miles, gardening replacing bushes (bruised the ball of my foot), 1378 cal, 68 net carbs, AF. Very active day. After dropping off DD’s dogs DH and I went out for dinner Ragin Cajun … yummy fried shrimp but switched the french fries out for grilled veggies. I avoided eating what DH & I usually get shrimp poboy and shrimp & crab gumbo which both of those are loaded with carbs.

04/26 - 198.2 I sort of expected this. Mondays are usually pretty bad, and I had a pretty bad weekend food wise (though activity wise it was a bit better).
04/27 - 194.0 This is a weirdly big drop. I assume because I've been so off track over the weekend that there was also a fair bit of water retention going on. Feeling like I'm a bit more on track now - went for a long walk yesterday and a run this morning.
04/28 - 192.6 So I went for a run yesterday and kept below calories, but this is still a bigger one day drop than I would expect. I'm treating this a bit like the drop you get early on in weight loss which I know is probably mainly water weight. I've really struggled to stay on track in April, though, so seeing some positive numbers on the scale is a really good motivator.
04/29 - 191.8 Under calories and moderately active yesterday - I was back in the office for a day. This meant being reasonably active. I forgot how many steps I get in just walking to and from train stations, walking out for lunch and walking around the office. But being in the office is a challenge food wise - the vending machine is right there! And walking back to the train when it's a few hours after lunch, and I'm at least an hour away from dinner, it's SOO tempting to just stop at a shop and pick up lots of chocolate. I didn't bring any healthy lunch and hadn't had breakfast. Potential disaster. But I had a lunch involving a sandwich, some crisps and some chocolate all at around 500 cals, and then just ignored the vending machine as best I could. I did have a chocolate bar on the way home - but stayed under calories for the day.
04/30 - 192.6 The big drops were too good to last. I was under calories yesterday but only by 200 or so, and not terribly active. Still 5.6lbs lower than I was on Monday, so pretty happy.
05/01 - 192.6 (a bit late to post) - below target for the round, which did not look possible a week earlier!1
