That's a neat idea, and you now have a very unique-looking ring! But mine isn't a plain band - I have a bridal set, the engagement ring has a bunch of tiny stones plus a larger central stone and the wedding band has more tiny stones. Right now they're separate rings, I've thought about getting them soldered together, dunno if that would help the fit issue. The metal is already sterling silver, as well, and from what I understand you can't do a lot of reworking on sterling silver. Maybe the Etsy seller would give me a discount on re-buying the same set again, only smaller? LMAO.
Soldering them together should reduce them by half a size. You could probably ask the jeweler if they could add an additional band to the inside after being sodered together to make them even smaller if needed. What an amazing problem to have!
Novel solution! Just a cautionary tale about rings - when I started this journey I didn't think my hands were pudgy at all, and my ring finger was a size 8. Now it's a size 4.5 and closer to a 4. So yeah, definitely best to get near goal weight before resizing rings, if at all possible!
Yep. I'm also now a size 4 (was a 5). Also my SHOE SIZE has gone down a size. Weirdness.
I was a six when I first married, so we'll see where I'm at when we go ring shopping for real next year. I still fit in my original engagement/wedding band from the first marriage. I'd love my feet to drop in size. I'm a 10 wide and half the time I wear men's sport shoes for the broader last.1 -
My nsv today is that it was another fabulous day.
I felt great. I ate great. I exercised. I rested.
It used to be hard for me to not snack and eat a limited caloric intake. Now, I just do it. I like my food. I feel good. I am in control. I waited a long long time to be here and I am really grateful and happy to be taking care of and connected to myself.
I deserve to feel good. I am proud of myself.34 -

On this note, I got a beautiful 1mm tiny gold band and I wear it in front of my rings. You can find 1mm in any metal and it is so thin it enhances rather than takes away. I call it my safety ring! That way I can wear my rings and enjoy them without altering them, at least yet. The spinning rings is also a daily and awesome reminder of the hard work and success and to keep it up.7 -
When I sit down and stretch my legs out I can touch the tip of my toes15

I do the same thing with a silicone ring, not as pretty but the silicone is "grippy".
I wear a ring sizer now, but it is annoying. I was trying to wait and make sure my weight loss was final and permanent before realizing my rings. At this point I need to get it done though!5 -
When I suck in my still rather floppy belly, I see deep indents on either side. They aren't really "abs," but more like the "Ghost of Abs Future." Also yesterday I got on the floor and was able to stretch and bend much better than previous, the difference was fun to see.27
-
I can now actually sit on the floor to do yoga and get up without the aid of the chair or sofa or someone.26

10,000 steps today 👊🏻27

I was so sore from teaching pump on Monday i was going to take the day off but actually had a killer upper body session! lower tomorrow.11

Oh that's fantastic! So many doors can open for you now.8 -

Stretchy and big for an 8 because women's sizing is ridiculous, but an 8.
I had this NSV recently too. They were Old Navy size 8’s so I don’t know if it counts because they had stretch but I stood there in the dressing room crying because it was my first time in a single digit size. I was too big for stuff at Lane Bryant at one point. Anyway, I know how huge of an NSV the size 8 jeans are and just wanted to say I’m happy for you! Congratulations! ❤️

@wunderkindking @Coupongrl79 those are both huge victories. So happy for you!! Even when in middle school I don't think I ever wore a single digit size item. Looking forward to wearing "teens" soon. congrats to you both, it's stories like yours that keep me engaged in the losing process. thank you for sharing!8

I don't hate looking at myself in the mirror as much as I used to28

I'm typing this comfortably wearing the denim pencil skirt that was part of my inspiration when I started (this round) of losing weight. It's taken 6 months to get here. So many of my goals have been met, have become just part of normal life, it's extraordinary when I think about it.
I can now dream of wearing the beautiful dark grey silk pencil skirt that I bought at my slimmest (mid-20s) but never wore out. I could never bring myself to part with it and now I'm in the denim skirt, it's calling me...23 -
My underwear fits better.18
-
I can bend over and tie my shoes without losing my breath!18
-
I jeans are no longer snug around the middle16

On the car I own, there's a lever to open the trunk (and one for the gas hatch) on the floor beside the door.
Today I was able to work the lever without opening the door or pinching my arm.21 -
My husband had to point this out to me, because I didn't quite notice, but since losing weight? I have stopped being timid. NOTHING scares me anymore and it's wild.27

Good for you!! Confidence is the positive side effect of weight loss!!8 -
I have a few from this week:
1.) The other day from my perch on a 2nd floor treadmill, I realized that I don't look out of place at the gym anymore. I'm not the most fit by a long shot, but I don't look out of place. Nor do I feel awkward and insecure there anymore. On the contrary, I love going, and these folks are quickly becoming "my tribe." When the gas shortage hit this week, my first thought was, "I've got to save enough to go to the gym." Turns out there was a full parking lot when I arrived because everyone else there had the same thought!
2.) My favorite jeans are now officially too big. I had to roll the waistband down to sit comfortably at prayer meeting, and I could put both my arms down the back.
3.) My husband remarked that I feel smaller and harder when he hugs me. I've noticed there are a lot more hugs, too!
4.) I'm finally starting to look smaller to MYSELF, so I'm not relying on external validation as much. Like, I notice muscle contours appearing in my legs and torso and back. And everything just looks SMALLER now. It's weird. I didn't notice much of anything until this week. Now I keep staring at myself in fascination.27 -
What's your recent NSV?
My resting heart rate has dropped from 95ish to 62 as of today
25 -
Today I was able to make it through a tough 30-minute circuit training workout that I couldn’t get through 6 weeks ago because I was so out of shape. Oh, and did I mention that I did 45 minutes of walking before the circuit workout?19
-
It took me 2 months to add 5 pounds to my bench press, 230 pounds now.21
-
My resting heart rate, like Nakila TDRakes, is now 62. Used to be about 72.11
-
Found an OLD picture of me from college that I hadn't seen in a long time. It used to be my "motivator" as I thought I wanted to look like that again, although it never really worked. I am 23 years old than I was, maybe weigh about the same (or less), but think I look a lot better now then I did then. I'm way more focused and purposeful with my strength training than I was back then, and I think it shows. Not only that, but I have a way healthier relationship with food and my body then I did back then.20
-
Not eating processed food16
-
Threw out and/or donated the last of my "big gut" clothes. Resting heart rate consistently at 50, like when I was 25 (now 73). Walking 3+ miles every day. Have kept weight off and maintained it for well over one year.21
-
I was able to walk 3 miles outside, without getting tired🥰20
-
I can bend forward and touch my toes. Have not been able to do that in quite a while.22
