Allie: Thanks for the generous thought about sending Alfie over for a snuggle. We will have our time of grief and when we’re ready, we’ll look for a puppy. Right now, DH and I are both heart-broken. We miss our sweet little boy dog.

Ginger in TX: Welcome back! I’m sorry about the loss of your pot-bellied pig. :flowerforyou:

Lisa: I am happy for your time with the grandchildren and count you lucky to have had them visit. :star:

Pip: We plan to donate to the MS ride but need a mailing address. I’ve been so upset by the loss of our pup that I can’t think straight or remember an idea from one minute to the next. :embarassed:

If things go as planned, we’ll be getting to see our grandchildren in a few weeks. Their other grandparents are bringing them on a cross country RV trip to see the Oregon Coast. Our daughter will be here, too, for our niece’s wedding. I was lucky to have a long chat with her on the phone last night. We are hoping to take a couple of days together at the coast after our niece’s wedding. We hope to connect with the grandchildren at the beach.

    Katla-heart still broken :heartbreak:

I've eaten breakfast and lunch, and gotten laundry going. I need to dye my hair today for my date tomorrow. And Teddy's toenails are clicking again. His eyelid is getting better. I was trying to get the crust off his eye and he ended up with a sore spot on Tuesday. I let it go instead of visiting the vet, and it seems to be okay. Always crusty though.

It's a beautiful day here, 74 sunny and only medium humidity. Carpé Diem!

Refurbishing furniture and such is a good past time. And you could sell them and make a few bucks.

    Snowflake
Keep your snow in Edmonton. We usually get what you got 3 days later.

So sorry for your loss but Shooner is gone to Doggie heaven.

Well for me I had a bit of a flat yesterday diet wise. My road is far from being paved I fell in a pot hole. But out of it doing fine today. I was dressed, bed made, folded laundry put in another load. Swept and washed the dinning room, kitchen bathroom and hall and living room all done before breakfast. Now I feel great. A very productive day. I made a pot of pell a lb soup yesterday and that was lunch today. So far doing great. Steps are at 2,816 i'm still doing only 3,000 steps more is a bonus. So next week bring it up to 3,500. So today will be good and I will share with you on Sunday how good I did.

    See you all lighter

Fillet steak was one of my best ever. I use a Heston Blumenthal method to cook it. Fiddly, but so worth it. Steak can be such a disappointment, but this was heaven.
The wine we found in a forgotten corner was one my son gave us in 2012. It tasted fine, but had some dregs, so we had to filter it. Fine after that. :D

The family is meant to be camping this weekend, in a tent. It's been blowing a gale! Rain and wind forecast, but also sunny periods. ;)

DDIL has booked us to take the girls to school one Friday at the end of June. Max goes on his bike by himself. Forward thinking! I have no idea why.

Allie- that is great news- will continue to pray for them.

Just got back from ophthalmologist. It was just a follow up from having the lazer treatment. I think they forgot about me in the room after dilating my eye(just the one) , waited to see her for 30 min. Saw her for less than 5 min. Was there for over an hour. Good news is that the treatment worked and looks good.
Now husband is joking about my eye- when they dilate my eye, it REALLY dilates, totally black-
Came back to the house and his friend was here and brought doughnuts- shouldn't have but ate one- I will be feeling sick in about ten minutes I am sure- always happens BUT he had a maple glazed, custard filled one- such a yummy combination-
Going to do some sewing later when my eye is better-

Hello ladies! Spent $100 on groceries so made good decisions. I did buy some treats for me, but I portioned my cookies in snack baggies. Bought some great coffee to try as a change. Called Folgers Noir. I might mix it with my regular Folgers.

Woke up this morning and the world spun. During the night I turned and spun a couple times, I just hate vertigo. I have adapted to it, though its hard to transition from lying to standing some mornings, once I do I am fine.👍
    Hugs!

So glad to hear the news about your daughter and continue to wish a safe pregnancy for her.

    Linda
Thanks for checking in again! No snow in Georgia...supposed to get up to 90 this weekend. You did great getting all those chores done so early.

    Heather
I looked up how to cook the fillet the method you suggested. My husband likes his well done and I like mine more on the rare side so it is difficult sometimes for me to figure out.

    Debbie
Glad your visit to the eye doctor went wells. I have been evaluated for cataract surgery but have to go to a specialist first because I have nodules on the clear part of my eye. Found out they bend the light rays and make seeing blurry. I hope there will be a remedy to fix that. They may have been caused from too much sun exposure or an injury at some point.

    Annie
Hope your date goes well! At my age the idea of dating would be mind boggling.

Had to ask DH what day of the week it was this morning. When you don't get out much, it is difficult to keep up.

Debbie--Sending hugs! They were lucky to have you in their lives even just for a little while. The skirt sounds like it will be very nice. Looking forward to pictures.

Machka--Thanks for the very wise reminder.

Katla--Sending hugs!! Grieve long as you need. It is a deep loss.

Ginger--Welcome back. Sounds like you have been having a time with your eyes. Glad to hear other labs are good.

Lisa--Looks like everyone is having a great time. What great memories. Thanks for sharing.

Allie--Great news for DD and the baby.

    Beth--Hugs!

BBQ last evening went very well and I stayed just under calories. Proud of that. I am working today and have weekend off. But tomorrow going to a friend's sister's grave side service. She passed just before Christmas. It is about 80 miles but going for support.

Then Sunday we are going about 125 miles the other way for DGS graduation. Just telling myself it will be ok. After I clock out this evening I will be just over 55 hours this week and have the same for next week. So next day off to relax will be the 29th. I sure wish I could get just one more dependable person.

Blessings, Vicki GRAND ISLAND NE <3

I had cataract surgery in both eyes over 6 yrs ago. They progressed very fast once they showed up. The left eye wasn't as bad but beings the first one got bad so fast plus with our insurance, having both done in the same year, saved us quite a bit of $$
They did the lazer treatment because my regular eye dr found a tear in my retina- they needed to fix it before it got detached.
I still see floaters- before the treatment it was just fuzzy grey ameba shaped things that would float in my vision. I still have them, now I have tiny black dots- like little gnats- really thought it was bugs the first few times I saw them. The doctor said they may diminish over time plus my brain will get used to them over time- right now, they are annoying.
