Day/Weight/Previous Day’s Comment
6/11 205.1 Walked 2.3 + 1.3 miles, 1450 cal, 83 net carbs, AF. Torchy’s Tacos ordering a Crossroads in a bowl + lettuce. The hardest part was not ordering a Torchy’s Tini! But I held firm to my promise to myself to target AF M-Th this week after returning from New Orleans vacation.
6/12 205.6 Walked 1.6 miles, danced,1558 cal, 82 net carbs, 1 glass wine. I did really pretty well considering we attended a 1 year anniversary party!
6/13 206.0 No exercise,1865 cal, 146 net carbs, 1 wine. Fast food burger & fries for late lunch. Made Charleston’s 82 Queens recipe for shrimp & grits this evening for all my kids and their spouses. Not surprised in the bump up
6/14 206.0 Walked 1.5 miles, gardening, 2021 cal, 165 net carbs, AF.
6/15 206.5 No exercise, 1561 cal, 125, AF. Busy day reviewing mom’s draft will with her and my sister, making dinner for a family with a new baby & company. Poor eating though on my part … Popeyes fried chicken for lunch and then chicken & sausage jambalaya for dinner.
6/16 205.8 Walked 2 miles, 1651 cal, 88 net carbs, 1 glass wine. Shopping with my sister, mailed books to my brother’s grandkids for summer reading, got in the new washing machine so now I can catch up on the dirty clothes!

I'm Mike. I am here for the happy hour specials. Slowly chipping away at weight. HW was 252, GW is 200.
6/11 236.1. Finished last round with a nice down trend and so of course I get to start this round with an up-bounce. Lots of sodium for dinner (meat lovers pizza) and a beer. I'll get that tended to quickly.
6/12 236.1. The struggle is eternal.
6/13 travel day
6/14 travel day
6/15 236.0. Again, decent weekend management on net. But my blood sugar was very high this morning. That suggests that what I am eating is not calorie-massive but relatively high in carbs. (The other explanation would be that I am getting a lot of exercise in the car but come on....) Time for a walk if I can get caught up at work by lunch time.
6/16 235.2. Blood sugar....194. I stared at the meter in disbelief, thought back to last night. A light dinner, no snacking. WTF? Then it hit me.... for the first time in probably a decade, I had simply forgotten to take my insulin last night. STUPID. And a 194 reading in the morning means it was likely over 300 overnight. I am only alive in 2021 because I agreed to a bargain with modern chemistry -- I eat right and inject a chemical cocktail into my body several times a day, and in exchange I get to live longer. I wonder how many brain cells, kidney cells, liver cells, heart cells, retina cells died last night because I failed to hold up my end of the bargain? GOT to do better. Weight is irrelevant compared to blood sugar management. Come on Michael, we are better than this.
6/17 234.8; MBS 133. Back on track. I am not happy with myself, overall. This round has been spent reclaiming ground I had already covered. As the Wise Woman says, there are good rounds and bad rounds. I just wish I was not quite so VERY round.

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

6/11 115.0 Honestly, I’m surprised. I was sick and lost my dinner last night and this morning my FBS was the highest it’s ever been - 113. I guess I’ll see what tomorrow brings. Throbbing headache so not looking at the message board yet.
6/12 113.5 Pretty much fasted yesterday as I was barely awake. 5 saltines and 1/2 slice of toast, seltzer, Coke Zero (for caffeine,) and water. I seem to have recovered. I’ve been up almost 2 hours and still working on first mug of coffee.😊 Feeling almost like myself again and I’m hungry but hungry for weird stuff that should probably not be put in a recently upset tummy!
6/13 115.5 Totally expected since I’m sure I was dehydrated after “losing my lunch” on Thursday night. Neighbor made Filipino food for the one meal I ate yesterday but I really didn’t eat much. I drank 2 20 oz Powerade Zeros, a liter of tonic water with some True Lime, and at least 3 30 oz glasses of water.
6/14 116.0 Great Greek for lunch yesterday. Ate 1/2 of my salad and gyro meat and 1/2 pita. It’s all good. After both of us having some stomach bug in the last few days, I’m skipping water fitness today.
6/15 116.0 Finished my salad and gyro but have had no TMI since Friday.
6/16 116.0 Surprised, Chinese buffet for the first time since before COVID. Not as good as it used to be and limited selection.
Couldn’t get this to post yesterday. Memorial Day weekend photo shoot-all 13 of us.

Goals- 165lbs., limit alcohol, lots of water. Thank you @quiltingjaine for setting up the round!
6/11-168-Glad to be at this point, heading into the weekend.
6/12-168
6/13-166-Whew! Glad to see that; I’ve been eating sensibly, and walking.
6/14-DNW-Feeling a bit puffy after the weekend. Walked a couple miles after dinner. Busy day; should get exercise.
6/15-167-Heavy but healthy dinner. Garden Club pot luck at the park before we disburse for summer; hopefully I won’t eat too much crap.
6/16-166-Made sure to eat a light dinner and walked 4 miles.8 -

6/12: 173.9 Still holding steady at this weight, hoping for a drop tomorrow! Menu planning today for next week.
6/13: 173.7 Super busy day yesterday, so was OMAD, not eating until 7:30 p.m. & then enjoyed some wine with my husband in the evening. Happy to say I did not get into any late night snacks after drinking, which is a big win!!
6/14: 173.6 New week, feeling very motivated! Last night with dinner, I had a salad from our small vegetable garden, the lettuce is the 1st "harvest", still waiting for everything else to be ready to picked. On plan for today is a full body strength workout.
6/15: DNW Absentmindedly drank water right when I woke up, so skipped the scale for that reason
6/16: 173.2 Delicious dinner last night with lettuce and herbs from our garden, + 1 mojito (got to use that mint!)

06/10 …..203.8….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
06/11 …..203.2 ….. The carry-out for a quick late dinner was horrible. I literally threw away 80% of it and I am proud that this old gal who grew up pretty poor (never waste food!) put it in the trash can and moved on with some cold water and a good TV program. A non-scale victory for sure! Good luck everyone this round. Let’s make the most of these next 10 days together!
06/12 …..205.2 ….. A big gain. Thai food within calories but no TMI. Probably some water retention as well.
06/13 …..203.4 ….. Back to the 203’s after TMI cooperated. I’m grateful yesterday’s weight was not permanent. Handyman here today to do some gardening that is difficult for me. My internet was down yesterday most of the day until 8:00 this morn. 2nd time this week. I’ll be doing lots of sitting catching up on paperwork. I will try to get in as many step breaks as possible.
06/14 …..201.8 ….. Yay! Lower than I’ve been since before Covid shut-downs March 2020. I must admit it was about an 800 calorie day yesterday. It was hot and I just didn’t feel like eating. I ended up throwing out about 80% of my low cal/low carb dinner. Today I will increase the calories and carbs (an uptick is on the horizon for tomorrow?) but will make all healthy choices so It’s not empty calories. Lets hope I can keep this ball rolling!
06/15 …..202.0 ….. Just the slight uptick I was expecting when getting my calories back in order. I am thrilled this lower weight is sticking around. I am traveling today so there will be less movement and more calories (restaurant dinner) but I am not about to lose my sight on Onederland. I am feeling pretty proud of myself right now.
06/16 …..203.4 ….. After travel weight. Disappointed that the trip took longer than anticipated and that I ate two pretty large meals out. NSV was that I didn’t stuff myself and left 25% on my plate both times. Taking it in stride and planning an extra low calorie meal today with extra movement and lots of water. This weight loss with be achieved in with a triumphant attitude, not one of defeat. Who’s with me?

6/14-218.6 I lost a lot of weight last year and gained it all back. I need to get back on it
6/15-217 - I expected a big drop but not this since it was my first day working out like crazy and rally watching what I eat. I expect it to level out the next few days.
6/16- 215.2 - I was at the water park all day with my kids and only ate once since we were so busy and to top it off had a sand volleyball game after.

Day/Weight/Comment
6/11--220.4 Worked out with trainer today.
6/12--218.9 Not surprised with the big drop, stomach was bothering me yesterday, so I didn't eat a lot. Plan today is to go out and do some trail walking with the puppy, may throw in a couple of running intervals. Planning to bbq some chicken today before it starts to rain.
6/13--217.3 Another really light day of eating yesterday because of my stomach, but my stomach feels so much better today and my weight will probably be up tomorrow. My hubby is having friends over today, first time since the shut down last year, so they will be in the basement playing games. I took the dog out for a walk before it started raining today, so I will be doing some things around the house upstairs.
6/I4--217.5 Stomach felt good yesterday and ate at my calorie goals. Today is trainer day.
6/15--217.8
6/16--217.8 Weight is holding steady. Yesterday was physical therapy day. I've taken the dog out for a walk this morning and plan to do some circuit training in my gym today. Hubby and I also have to pick up our new lawn mower. We had let our lawn get so out of control over the last couple of months, we didn't have a lawn mower, that we had to hire someone about 2 weeks ago to come by and landscape it. So, we just purchased a new lawn mower so that the lawn stays under control. This fall we are going to plant a grass lawn replacement which will keep our mowing down to a minimum.

June focus: maintain weight < 150
improving stamina, strength, flexibility, which may impact the scale
I liked this so much I'm borrowing it.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Aims:2021 Focus:JGM10D ~|~ Round 153 🔹Posting weight and comments each evening.- Maintain weight < 150
- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals by keeping busy
Never give up! Never give in!
Recent Back Story:- 2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅
- 2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
- 2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ Strength training has slowed progress, but that’s okay.
- That's a WIN in my book!
- 2021
- Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.
- (One good thing about Covid is that I don't have to traverse the minefield of family celebration meals.)

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

You may be in for a rainy weekend. Storm brewing in the gulf
I saw! Hopefully it will hold off for us, though. I just double checked the forecast and the 20% chance is now down to 1% chance for the weekend. Crossing fingers and knocking on wood for a beautiful weekend! It's a combined birthday for my Godson (17th), Goddaughter (1st), and BF (18th) as well as Father's Day for BF and FamHubs (father of our Godkids)
