RVRita: - Good to see you back posting. We were worried about you. Sorry to hear that things aren't going so well with hubby. (((Hugs)))
Rebecca: - . "Just another day knowing I am making time for my wellness, so later on I won't be forced to make time for my illness.💖👍"
That's a brilliant way of putting things.
It's another bright day, so hoping to get working on the hedges.
Here's hoping today brings you a few moments of joy.

Hi all! No way to catch up so starting here. Been down with lots to think about since I got back from my trip. All concerning my DH. He’s an alcoholic and I can’t take it anymore. Married 29 years and really doubting thing right now.

Rita, I'm so sorry - it's not an easy path to travel, that one. I left my first husband just before our 28th. It's not about the years you've invested, it's about the years you have left and how you want to spend those years. All the advice re: AlAnon is good. Many hugs.
Many thoughts are with you, Penny... the emotions jump all over us when we're most unwary. There was always so much joy for what I'd discover when I moved that I'm not sure I ever grieved moving, so no advice from me, dear, just a hug.

Last night we joined the traditional pizza party that celebrates the end of a research cruise up here. The people who were out doing fieldwork with my husband included two 15-year-old girls, who won a competition for "research talents". As part of their prize, they've been up here four times now!
They were among the people who spent two nights sleeping in tents in polar bear territory. More correctly, they spent two nights NOT sleeping, listening anxiously for strange noises. One of the adults told them (at the pizza party) how my husband and I met, as if that was any of her business. She explained that we'd both come to a boarding school in Sweden because our parents lived in places that weren't suitable for us. "And that school was where they met, isn't that romantic?" Playing along, I added that it was 45 years ago.
The girls immediately asked how I put up with his snoring!
It seems they spent the first night in the tent terrified about a polar bear approaching, snorting as it came.
I've advanced to the stage of clearing out the fridge, tossing all the mustard and soy sauce and jam we won't be eating.

Allie - Happy birthday, my friend!
Kylia - The hickey story made me smile... and I'm so sorry about the kitten.
Insomnia... 4:20 a.m. my time, and I've been up since 1 a.m. Was going to go back to bed, but too wide awake, so decided to get everything done for the day. Corey's lunch is made, dishwasher is emptied and the few dishes put in, and finished with the article I'm writing. Learned everything I wanted to know about plastic extrusion... whee!
One of the things I realized early on in this "retirement" gig is that there is no need to panic if I'm wide awake, because I can sleep whenever I choose. One of many, many benefits.
If I'm not napping out all morning, I'll pop up to the quilting circle and take the ladies the lemon bars.
Off to the races, my chickens. Hope it's a lovely day for us all...
Love,
Lisa in AR

Good morning all! Happy Tuesday! Happy International Mud Day! I have a day of mud play planned for the kids, today. Everything is washable, right?
Rita- Good to hear from you! Sorry about what you are dealing with in regards to your DH. Has covid/social distancing and things closing made him drink more? Retirement? I will be thinking of you as you figure out how to move forward.
Sending hugs!
Karen VA - Wow! Good job on emptying the house! Hope your partner is doing well. How are YOU doing? Have you been able to see your grands? Big hug to you!
Penny- Thinking of you as you transition to life in a slightly busier area.
Kylia- I am laughing about the hickey! lol I remember last year, I did the same thing with my hair after a particularly romantic evening with DH. My daughter was visiting that day and she was stunned. lol She has children so I KNOW she knows that she was not a product of immaculate conception. Hickies happen.
Kids arriving. Just wanted to stop in and say HEY! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)4 -

A quick reminder, especially for the newcomers, that we'll be taking a "road trip" to a new thread very soon ... the July thread! June will wrap up, July will begin.

Kelly thanks for the info. Like Barbie I am glad I have a fenced yard for DrewB in the afternoon. I do need to watch the deck though I know even if it is wood it can get hot too.
Feeling for those of you in Northwest. Even with AC a long heat wave is hard. I found I needed to be be mindful that it affects eveyone in the zone. It was hard to be patience in that heat and others had the same problem. Take care and do what you need to do to stay safe.
We are having rain again and cooler. Yeah.
Taking DrewB to a pet sitting place today. I was hoping a neighbor could watch her if needed to leave her for extended time. This neighbor is the one who usies mouse poison. I still think she might have gotten into that about a month ago so I will unfortunately not leave her there. She passed her first visit. They will not take aggressive dogs.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Lunch went well. New to us tapas place and we were able to sit outside under an awning. Food typical tapas and nice.
We then walked into town so I've managed a good 90 mins walking today (after morning exercise). Had a quick trip into a shop to buy DH some iced Christmas cake and a cup of tea in the café.
Then I got the bus home.
Good day.
Didn't over indulge at lunch so going to cook a dinner in layers , basically a full English breakfast, and I will just pick a couple of bits. Probably black pudding and scrambled egg. DH can add bacon, tomato and chips.
Football in 30 mins time. England versus Germany. DH will be watching the TV in his study.
I hate this time of year with wall to wall sports on the TV. None of it interests me. Grrrrr!!!!.
