hello everyone on this fine Tuesday LOL
yippie it's taco tuesday. And yes that is what I whipped up for dinner. A few low carb tortilla, lean ground beef, black olives and a little sautéed onion and peppers.
I have found for me I do better eating my main meal of the day between 3-5pm and then I tend not to snack in the evenings. But let me eat late and I just never stop eating until I go to bed....go figure?
AF last night and looks like I will be tonight too so yeah....5 out of 6 AF days this month
@dawnbgethealthy I was so excited when @MissMay told me a painting had sold, I was in the middle of Macy's jumping up and down...quite a site for this old woman acting like she was 12 and a teen.
I just finished another mandala, orange, red and a pop of teal and green. Of course MissMays work is awesome!

AF this evening even though DH opened a bottle of wine! First AF for July.8
-
Is this a yummy Cosmo or a Pomegranate Martini? NO!!! It’s a non- alcoholic drink! Half Effervé sparkling Pink lemonade, half Pelligrino. But in the martini glass, it was much more enjoyable.
Now, to unpack why I enjoy AF drinks when in a real wine or martini glass, but not nearly as much in a regular glass….8 -

Was it your artwork being displayed at the Gallery?
Thanks for asking @dawnbgethealthy.
Actually along with a number of other people displaying their art, YES both @lmlmrn and I have art work in this gallery. And both she and I have sold a piece each through there.
"LESS alcohol ~ MORE art!" 🎨
OMG how wonderful and fabulous!!!

@dawnbgethealthy I thought those flowers *were* wildflowers, lol. I picked them on the side of the road. And now I know their name.
Hmmm. Well, I have never known them to grow wild, mine are bedding plants and I hope that nobody walks by and picks them lol. But if they were on the side of the road.... : - )
I will get some photos of mine tomorrow to post. I favour deep red.5 -
My usual goal, 16-20 AF for the month. This is sustainable long term for me.
Thursday July 1st - Drinks. The first following 5AF days. I may have drinks Friday as well.
Friday July 2nd - Drinks - i started with a Mojito that I had put in the freezer (that i found) in its own little shaker. I quit Census today, and worked/played long and hard in the yard trying to catch up on months of neglect. Really lovely day. Possibility of drinks tomorrow and the next day too as people traveling from Alberta are arriving in town. Being kind of self-indulgent right now. Day off tomorrow, only a 3 hour shift on Sunday. I will navigate this after working 5 jobs for the last couple of months. Shouldn't just be free reign to have drinks every day. I will figure it out. At the moment, like I said, I am being kind of self-indulgent.
Saturday July 3rd - 2 1/4 drinks. Tried 1/4 of a different Gin Smash, too sweet for me, I covered it in the fridge and will give it to a friend who likes the sweeter drinks. Another super productive day in the yard/garden. Just a 3 hour shift starting at noon tomorrow, so expecting to get lots more time in the yard before it gets hot out. Planned drinks tomorrow with friends after I get off of work, and Monday completely off.
Sunday July 4th - AF - I had planned to have drinks after work, partly because I have tomorrow off. I decided to save the calories instead - 100 day weigh in challenge is coming to an end in 9 days and alcohol is the bane of trying to lose weight hands down.
Monday July 5th - AF - Really wanted a nice cool drink after a very productive day off and lots accomplished in the yard. Resisted.
Tuesday July 6th - AF - As usual, felt like having drinks, just didn't.
Rolling total - 3 AF days out of 6 days7 -
Happy Wednesday!
I can't believe its Wednesday already were do the days go!
3 x AF so far and today WILL be 4!
England play Denmark in the Euro's Semi-Final tonight! we have NEVER made it to a Euro's final before (we haven't made it to any final in my life time, and I'm not Spring Chicken LOL) so I have all of my fingers and toes crossed!

Good morning group!
Has anyone seen @chocolate_owl on the other MFP boards? Wondering how she is doing?
@Womona that is my go to when having a MOCKTAIL. A stemmed glass. And might I say that looks DAMNN gorgeous as well as delicious!
@Lilylady3k woot woot on your first AF day for July. Even with DH opening a bottle double 👍👍
@globalhiker 77 days to a better health/medical check up. Sounds like a good topic for a challenge. I am sure you will ace it!
@dawnbgethealthy those flowers truely DO grow wild up here in Maine. I was just pulling @mainelylisa chain. There are so many others to that seem to flourish on the sides of the roads and fields including lupin, black eyed susans, daisies. I to have picked and filled a vase from a morning walk.
@lmlmrn how is the sinus issue?
July 6th tally( two stand size drinks)

HAVE A WONDERFUL MID WEEK DAY7 -
@MissMay - I've not seen @chocolate_owl either and was wondering as well.
I'm jealous that ya'll have dianthus growing along the side of the road. They are annuals in the winter here and usually planted/bloom Oct-April (cooler weather). We do though have great wildflowers due in part from Lady Bird Johnson's Highway Beautification Act of 1965 (Lady Bird's Bill) which promoted planting of wildflowers along the highway in Texas!

@Womona - I love your stemmed glass!!!! Thinking I need to consider looking for something unique when I duck into an antique store next time.
@globalhiker 77 - I set up a physical in early August ... pushing it forward in hopes that it would trigger my brain to get on the ball and lose the last 5 lbs for the goal she set for me last November. So this month I need really need more AF days too.

I had ONE spiked seltzer last night. Major change - I have been drinking a full bottle of wine per night.
Last night I took my daughter to the emergency room for an asthma attack. After using a nebulizer and getting some meds, she was fine. It was 10:05 when we left and the wine store was closed. If not, I would have probably - definitely - bought a bottle of wine and drank it all. BUT - I couldn't - and I found I really didn't "need" it.
I drink regularly as a reaction to stress. Family stress has been severe for the last decade, I cannot lie, but truly things in our lives have stabilized and calmed down. Thank goodness. My goal is more to learn to LIVE with stressful/anxious feelings and let them pass rather than numbing myself.
Big goal, I know. Glad to be here.10 -
@Womona that is an attractive glass and sparkling pink lemonade sounds tasty.
76 AF days left for me. They'll be mostly running days too. Now I that my injury has healed and I settled on the right pair of shoes finally, got to put this body to work after too many months derailed.
Like the Nike commercial: Just Do It10 -
Steak night ... 2 glasses of a nice red wine ... Etude Cabernet Sauvignon. Making a sautéed spinach & shiitake mushrooms with cider cream sauce as the side. Recipe that I picked up from the Mother's Day cooking class at Central Market6

well it looks like another AF night tonight?? maybe
Saw the ENT Dr today for my ear and sinus........Ok sinus: use saline rinse to get rid of all the nasties. Ear: see colleague who is ear specialist (he is more nose). Hole in eardrum, so will be on drops for 5 days and possible 10 days. The appt will be tough since he is based in a city over an hour away and comes to my area once a week. So will have to see him when I get back home. Gosh I hope this is the last of this mess. Have no idea how my eardrum decided to get a hole, Dr only idea is I had an infection that caused it or I poked something in there. In which case I would have known pretty quik I injured it.....hmmmm.....which one was it????
Ok off for now but may have a drink tonight, not sure.8 -

Oh my gosh that is aweful. Is it the ear for your hearing aide? It is making me cringe just thinking of your pain. Fingers crossed for resolve to this LONG LONG episode. 💓6 -

Wow has everyone been chatty here! I can't stop cracking up at @MissMay 's post. Well, and the fact that when I looked at her tally, at first all I saw was dry hump. Funny where the mind goes when it's not swimming in wine (cuz when I'm drinking wine, I'm not thinking of anything dry....) I digress. But have to make my own entertainment sometimes if I'm not drinking it.
Fast recovery wishes, @lmlmrn -- sounds painful beyond belief but hope the diagnosis is accurate and cure on the way.
@MissMay @lmlmrn How long is your art posted? I want to come see!!!
@Womona Beautiful! I picked up some new wine glasses (with Moose(s) Meese? on them) that everyone used last weekend--including me. I'm not stopping the fancy drinking glasses--they make everything more fun. And grown-up.
@lilylady3k Way to go to get an AF day in with temptation in front of you!
@vvlucky Way to change the habit! Completely understand drinking for stress. The ironic thing is that it actually promotes more stress in the long run. We know that in our head, but stress triggers the desire for a quick fix. Hope you can take some time for yourself with some walks and even breathing to help with stress.
OK I'm gonna stop picking those flowers. They truly weren't near anyone's driveway, but I'm guessing someone might have thrown seeds down. And of course I'm wogging down the road--roots flapping in the breeze--as all the workers from the Birches Resort are zipping to and fro. THEY probably planted them, lol.

So I fell off the wagon last night,
The wagon then ran me over.
Then the wagon dragged me up and down the street for most of the evening.
Ah well today is a new day. Onwards and upwards

@Stockholm_Andy Great attitude!
If you stumble, you get back up. If you fall off the wagon, you have the next go at it. And then the next. And the next. And the next.

I am thankful you got in here the following day to be unaccountable.
I know which wagon that is, I have been dragged by it as well.
I say we all hop on it and show it how steady and strong we can be while riding it out. 🤗

@mainelylisa DRY HUMP? Now that is very funny.
You know what else I have noticed growing amuck wild up here? Primroses! All through out the lawn. Hubby tries to mow around them which takes on a whole new lawn concept. Oh and how about beach roses? Can't kill the darn things. lol
We will be in the gallery show all Summer/Fall until we run out of art. Hahaha. Believe me, between @lmlmrn and I, we have it covered. So any time you can come to town we will have works in there.
Going to need to see the moose glases. Are they like the ones from Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase?
