@cbabie But you get to be dad.
How was the eating? Did you stay within your boundary?
@trooworld Today at PT, we didn't even get to my foot. She was too busy killing my hip. I thought it would be another day of bike riding while I read my Kindle. I can do that. No, she obviously figured out ways to torture me a bit. She put these 6 lb ankle weights and said lie on your back and lift your leg up. Sounds easy. Up down. No she says, up and hold :leg starts shaking a bit: and down. Boom. Not that fast. So now #2. leg up :leg is shaking more and hold and down slowly. #3. leg up......leg refuses to participate. She says leg up? I said my ears heard you but my leg is not moving despite me trying. she helped it up and hold.....you think we were having an earthquake it was shaking so bad. Now let's do another set....really? That was just one of the exercises. Finally we got through all those and onto the weight machines and the bike. I like those. Then my hip hurt worse after exercise. She said interesting. I said yes cause you tortured me. She said you are too tight and need to strengthen. I need alot of things I said to myself. lol I need to find a way to enjoy doing these floor exercises and all. They remind me too much of PE. My foot is a bit better since I changed into a pair of sandals today. I usually wear hushpuppies but they are slightly a bit big and I wonder if that is what is causing the pain because my feet have less support. I'm between sizes. I have Fred Flintstone feet. A beach sounds fun. Balance is the key.

Busy day yesterday but lots of exercise. I stayed OP. This morning I put on a pair of toe separators. I heard they were supposed to relieve feet pain.

@gemwolf110 Love your doggies and their hogging of the vent!
@theslightedgeforever Oh my goodness! Reading about your PT had me giggling and cringing at the same time. I am sorry that you were being tortured but at least you have a good attitude about it. Fred Flintstone feet!! I can relate!Did the toe separators help?
@trooworld I’m glad that you are having such a good time this week while on vacation! The wild animal park will be lots of fun for sure! Is it one of those that you drive and feed the animals in your car? Those always look terrifying on America's Funniest Videos.
@cbabie We don’t give up!! We just keep on doing the best we can and let the rest fall to the wayside. Yeah, the life of a little girl sure is rough.
Hello! I’m back and VBS is over. It was a great week and we ended up having more kids than we ever had. Our family night last night was awesome and all the parents came out and enjoyed themselves. My weight is up 2.6 lbs for the week. Not surprised since there was pizza and cookies last night.I’m back on track today and I’m taking my blood sugar and eating high protein, low carb. I paused the app with my trigger at 82 and plan to work myself back to hitting that trigger for a couple of days and then I can resume what they call “hunger training.” I just need to keep thinking about my physical in three weeks and how I want to be in the 170s!!

@teresaw1020 Well, you know that some of that weight is pizza bloat so it will be back to normal so and you can continue losing and get into those 170's. Toe separators....they made my toes skinny. Now if only I could find one of those for the body. I guess i'll see after 3-4 months if they work.
@trooworld Loved the giraffe. The trains would be cool too. read my note to Teresa about the toe separators.
Well, same for you. It's hard to have company and lose weight but it can happen. So do the best you can. In one of my groups we were talking about this subject today.
1.Describe a social cue that is a problem for you.
2. Pick one idea from this session for changing the problem social cue. Choose one that is likely to work and that you can do: Plan ahead, change a cue, stay away from problem cue, respond to cue in a more healthy manner
3. Create a positive action plan.

I ran into a bit of emotional eating after I thought I was done for the night. I did not respond well to my sabotaging thoughts evidently or I would have not eaten the snacks. So that needs work. I was doing so well too this week, my weight was down a bit, now I don't know what Monday will bring. All I can do is keep following my plan the rest of the day and tomorrow.0 -
@trooworld Sounds like you had a good meal. I love the outfit and necklace. Plus the color of your hair. People seem so happy to get out this year and celebrate.
I lost 0.4 lbs this week. Little by little. Inch by inch.

@trooworld So sorry that your DH got so sick! I hope he is feeling better. Your 4th of July outfit is so cute!! Will you be watching fireworks at your brother’s hotel. Giraffes are one of my favorite animals. They are just so awesome!! Don’t beat yourself up from the weight gain. It will come off!
@theslightedgeforever Yeah, some of the pizza bloat is gone but not enough of it. It’s so annoying that I can go off plan a couple of days and gain so much and that it takes forever to get it back off. A body separator to make us skinny is something we need for sure!I’m sorry that your sabotaging thoughts caused you to emotionally eat. But you know how to turn it all around so no worries!
Hello and happy Independence Day!! Not much going on here today. We had church this morning and I got my computer work done. Things at the church are returning to normal. We have our first potluck scheduled for July 28 and Sunday school is returning August 22nd. So that is all good stuff! DH and I plan to just hang out at home. Maggie gets so freaked by fireworks that we will give her a pill and keep her next to us while the neighbors make their noise. For dinner, I’m attempting Baby Back ribs in the Instant Pot with corn on the cob and sweet potato fries. I will even splurge and have one beer.
0 -
@teresaw1020 Intellectually I know how to turn it around but it seems that didn't happen yesterday either. I need to read my Beck Book response and advantages cards. That usually seems to help me. I did exercise yesterday when I planned a rest day and turned down some dessert when I was out with hubby. So the whole day wasn't a waste. How is your mom?
@trooworld I'm sort of back on track. I know better. So do you have a plan for when your best friend comes to visit? Company is hard on eating healthy. I'm a little worried about everyone getting together. That delta variant doesn't sound good. My friend went to Hollywood Bowl to see the fireworks and Kool and the Gang. I bet that was fun.
I think I'm going to have to send out the hounds for @cbabie.

Back from the lake was definitely a hot one. 34-38C just about every day which ment lots of beer and crappy eating. Was to hot to even thinking about cooking. Weight wasn’t to bad only up 3 lbs and will have that down in a few days. Now that the long weekend is out of my system I plan on tracking everything and making sure I don’t go into the negative (WW) will use all my fit points. Then when hubby is home every other weekend will take a break. Then come sept it will be serious mode. I just don’t want to get into the 160s this summer. Was 156 and today 159 so should easily get it back down in a few days of proper eating
Hope everyone is doing well. Way to much to catch up on since I left. When down at the lake barely any service. Will have to start making an effort every day of walking down to the park or beach when at the lake to get some service and check in.0 -
@trooworld I agree that having company is great but it can also be very draining. At least they all weren’t piled up in your condo.
What kind of things will you be doing with your best friend when she visits? My ribs turned out really well, but I would be happy to see your recipe since you are such a good cook.
@theslightedgeforever I keep my WHY advantage card right where I can see it and read often. It does help. Mom is struggling. I’ll write about it below.
@renaegry Glad you had a good time at the lake. You will get back on track!
Good morning! Not much going on today except some housework, cutting DH’s hair, and working out. I’ve decided that on days when I’m feeling good and have the time, I will do an extra workout in the afternoons by walking on my treadmill. I figure it couldn’t hurt!I got the call yesterday from mom that she is ready to come home. This has been really hard on her, and she is in constant pain from lifting the baby and doing things around my sister’s house. Mom is very out of shape and just wants to be back here where can sit in her chair all day and do nothing. My niece’s son’s father has moved in, and he is able to help around the house more than mom, so I will drive to Florida next Monday and bring her home. I’m trying to work on my attitude so that I can be loving and accepting when she returns. It is what it is!

@renaegry Your plan sounds like a good one. Now to just follow it. These days that seems like the hard part for me. Sounds like you had a fun time at the lake. It seems to be hot everywhere. I wonder if America is the only place to not use Celsius. I always have to go look and see what that converts too.
@teresaw1020 My WHY never really did it for me. I've tried the vanity route, the health route, the live long enough to see grandkids route, still seem to be straying this week. It's hard having aging parents live with you. I have my mil. 5 years now. So I understand the stress that can cause. I had to set my own boundaries. I like my alone time too much. You are a good daughter.
I got my second dose of Pfizer today so not going to exercise. I could probably walk slowly but I'm just going to sit and read.
I just realized I didn't track yesterday. Wasn't really that good anyway. Glad I checked in here so I didn't ruin my streak.0 -
Morning all, I have not done well at all in the eating/exercising dept. It has been lots of turmoil, drama, emotional distress, oh I could go on. I won't, for some reason yesterday I have found letters, journal entries, notes, etc and read my thoughts. LOL I am almost in the same boat, but I can see my change in my attitude. I still get in the I DONT CARE mode and eat to try not to care. LOL. So needless to say, I was up 1.6 lbs this week NO SURPRISE. I am taking one day at at time and trying to keep to my plan. (yes dear sister I try to plan). LOL
On a different note, I took the plunge and bought a new car. I hate car payments, haven't had one is so long, but my car is a 2003, my DH truck is a 2004. I told my DH based on who I need to cart around and how much I am willing to go into debt for....we got a Kia Sportage. Wow to have air that works. It's a nice car. Baby girl cried and said I no like this car..wouldn't get in it. I had to take a stand..LOL. now she LIKES the car. She is just a creature of habit and OCD. My 2003 was a nice car, just OLD and had lots of miles..260K or so.
@theslightedgeforever Sorry you got tortured, but you never like PE and neither did I, now look at us trying to exercise.. LOL There is a house down a couple of streets that always has the garage door opened...in it is a total complete gym... I NEVER SEE ANYONE USE IT. I told my daughter last night while we were walking that I thought they just did it for show. LOL. I am thinking maybe they would rent it out to me. LOL. You are good at tracking so one day is not bad.
@TeresaW1020 I am happy VBS went great...I am still not wanting to be around people. Working on it. I think you know exactly what your body needs and you will lose the couple of lbs quickly. I understand about parents, mine never lived with me, but I have had LOTS of family live with me during my life time.
@trooworld LOVED THE OUTFIT.. Sorry your DH was so sick. I remember when my DH had diverticulitis. Oh it was awful and I couldn't do anything for him. I know you will get back on track, company is one of those things..you love them for awhile, but then normal needs to come back. LOL
@renaegry you have a line in the sand you have drawn. I know you will get back down and won't cross over that line. You have a great support system and a plan. I had to laugh...beer and crappy food...sounds like the beer was the better of the two.. LOL

@theslightedgeforever Yeah, I know that you understand my struggle having mom live with me, but also having to face the reality that it’s my life now and I have to make it work. I think I’ve mentioned that my DH and mom are both the same age and having two people who are 78 and clearly showing signs of aging kind of freaks me out. I always threatened DH that he better out live the dog and now I add my mom to that list as well.
@cbabie Sorry that life is once again full of stress for you!The Kia Sportage is a nice car! It was on my shortlist when I did my car shopping. I hope it will give you years of enjoyment. Yeah, I think whenever we have others living with us it’s a huge challenge. But we don’t always get to be selfish, do we? So, I will make the best of it and rely on my faith to see me through.
@trooworld Your plans sound wonderful for your visit with your BFF. Eating and shopping are two of my very favorite things to do!Have fun with your crafts!
Good morning! I slept in until 8 am this morning, which I needed because I didn’t fall asleep until after 3 am. I hate nights like that! I don’t have much planned today other than doing the floors and some laundry. Yesterday, I deep cleaned my mom’s bathroom and bedroom. This shelf is something I gave her when she moved in, and she has proceeded to fill it with as many knick-knacks as humanly possible. I’m already a minimalist but after cleaning her room, I just want to go through my house and get rid of stuff.
0 -
Morning all, I never got my bike ride or walk in yesterday. My eating was better but not great. I just don't want to do anything but read right now. LOL
@TeresaW1020 I go through phases of wanting to declutter. Your moms shelf is very tastefully placed. I seem memories and things that bring her joy. One day by daughter bought something that was really cute and kind of went overboard with things that were cute...she is redecorating and trying to forget old things and bring new into her life....I made the mistake of saying it was a dust collector...(that's what I saw) but she saw new life...She did end up keeping it..but I had a lot of explaining to do Lucy...LOL I always tell my DH if you get cancer you will have to take care of yourself, I am not...he won't quit smoking... Thank you in regards to the car....it really is nice and "quiet"
@trooworld LOL sounds like you are going to be busy enjoying your friend and the "city". Life is short so yes enjoy, make the most of her time here. I am sure you will enjoy those "craft" things. LOL. We want to see pictures. It inspires those of us to use our creative minds we were given... OR we can live through you. LOL
Cbabie0 -
@cbabie …and it was low carb beer as well lol
@theslightedgeforever i also got my second shot of Pfizer on Monday. I found it was better then my first shot. Arm wasn’t even sore yesterday
@TeresaW1020 already just about at my weight I was before the lake to turn around and go back. lol
Last day at home today then back to the lake till Monday. Plan on having more control while there this weekend with booze and eating and making sure I get some walks or jogs in. Today’s workout will consist of an hours worth of grass cutting which will get my 10,000 steps in. Possible will do a quick 10 min strength workout or will do some bench presses and biceps.0 -
Happy Wednesday!! Last day of some time off. Decided to clean up basement and mow the front yard and rake up the grass. It’s like 80 degrees out but I got it done. Hydrating now. Hope everyone has a great day!0

@cbabie I have a full gym and only use it occasionally. I'm trying to at least use it when I do my aerobics. When I go on vacation, I'm going to try and use my dd's gym. Dh has already said, hey let's make a plan to walk outside in the morning. I need to do some weights too. So hopefully that will be a habit when I get back. Congrats on the new car. All I seem to be doing is reading right now. So how about we read a chapter and then go exercise for 5 min. Even walking around the house is still moving.
@trooworld Are you still following the WW green plan? I've had a hard time this week doing 4 reds. Part of it was I did that last week. I had a silly little plan that if I didn't lose as much weight as I had planned for that week I would change a yellow day to a red day. Totally sabotaged myself on that one, I think. So back to my normally scheduled plan this week. I love your jewelry and crafts. Especially those blue earrings.
@teresaw1020 So you have double reason to keep yourself in great shape now to be caregiver. I'm ready for a mental break when I go on vacation. Mil is going to sil house. Share the wealth as they say. (don't know who says that but I like that phrase. lol) I laughed about the shelves. My mom was like that with wall space. Every square inch must be filled.
@renaegry I'm having pain in my right hand. Don't know if vaccine related or just old. lol I feel better today but still a slight headache. I'm just glad it's done.
@gemwolf110 Raking burns calories. I always hated raking leaves as a child. My trick was do a bad job and then possibly the older sister got stuck doing it.I don't remember doing it very often.
Can you all send me good juju vibes so I get my mojo back? I haven't even journaled this week. That's also part of the problem. My son and hubby have kept me busy.

Morning all, I didn't really exercise yesterday, but you know a almost 3 year old running through the house saying I am going to catch you, making you jump over her bed, around the kitchen Island....I think that was exercise..LOL I did way better on eating. so that's a plus. We will see come Monday on WI..LOL
@theslightedgeforever I don't remember raking leaves...maybe someone else got that chore.. I will think about the reading and then exercise after a chapter...how long are your chapters..LOL. I love walks in the morning...just don't get to do them right now.
@trooworld YOU ARE SO TALENTED. I love all those things you made. It's a way to keep your hands busy and out of food..LOL. That's my plan, but the plan never comes forth. LOL.
Cbabie0 -
@trooworld I love all the crafts! Especially those earrings! Very on-trend right now.
@theslightedgeforever That is great that you have your SIL to send your mom to. I do not have that luxury. When mom comes back next week she is here for good and I plan to get over myself and make the very best of it. How is your mojo today? Did you find it yet?
@cbabie Being chased by a 3-year-old is definitely good exercise! I can’t wait to see my little great-niece on Monday. She is the best part of having to go down to Florida.
Hello, I’m here! I’ve been busy the last few days doing a bunch of deep cleaning and getting ready for my trip on Monday. DH asked why I’m cleaning so much, and I told him that if I died, I didn’t want him to worry about the bathroom rugs needing to be washed. He said if he ever noticed that they did, he would just buy new ones.I started a new workout program called 4 Weeks of the Prep. The trainer is great and really makes the intense workouts fun and fast, which is something I enjoy. My eating has been really good too. I know that I will go off plan some on Monday and Tuesday, so I’m trying to minimize the damage. I have also decided to try to eat my bigger meal at lunchtime and have a much smaller dinner. I find that I don’t lose well if I don’t go to be at least a little hungry every night and I’ve not been doing that. Speaking of lunch, I’m starving a spicy tuna chaffles is calling my name!

I'm here. I'm slowly getting back to my mojo. I walked 58 min yesterday. Tracked one meal. That's about it. Oh, I journaled. That really helps me. I'll get back to it.0
-
I’m still here, too. Dd & gkids came on the 30th, she left today. We will take gkids home on the 22nd. Movement good, but eating is not so great. I don’t like using my food scale around them, so serving sizes might be a little off. We have gone to zoo, movies, pool, & Adventureland.(amusement park) GS wants to go fishing, so hoping there will be a few dry days. So dry earlier & now a lot of rainy days.0
-
Morning all, I didn't do so well over the weekend. It rained here on Saturday and I tweaked my knee that I broke years ago. Thankfully today it is WAY better. I ate way too many mint fudge cookies and well that about sums up my weekend. LOL. I did weigh in and lost .2 lbs. If I don't change my ways it will be back up .2 next week LOL
@trooworld So glad you had a good time with your BBF and your art opening went well. It's funny when we are glad we can have our live back before company or family or what ever ..LOL. Glad you had a nice break from your normal routine.
@RetiredAndLovingIt You are fine...grandkids grow too fast to let serving sizes be exact..LOL. You will get back to it when they go home and I am sure you will have great memories for them and they will have their memories that are priceless.
@TeresaW1020 We as women drive our DH crazy with the things that are important to us, but I can tell you my DH drives me just as crazy with his thoughts. LOL. Hope your trip is good and enjoyable. Congrats on the eating plan. I love how you are always tweaking and changing to find the right plan for the right season in your life. Great job.
@theslightedgeforever You are making a comeback...you got this.

Morning I did within my budget of food yesterday, except I wanted PB so I had it. It put me over on fat grams, but I was good on calories. LOL Still no exercise, and today isn't looking promising. I have been up since 3:30, can't sleep for some reason.
@trooworld I am sorry you have so much work to do, but it kept you busy and not bored. LOL. Boredom leads to eating for me at times. Oh what am I saying everything leads to eating for me LOL. Thanks for the congrats, you too will be going back down in numbers...little obstacles, but you haven't given up the ship.
Cbabie0 -
@RetiredAndLovingIt Are you keeping up with the exercise? Just curious why you don't want to measure your food around them? Sounds like you are having so much fun with your grandkids. Enjoy.
@trooworld So overall how did you do when you had company? What would you do differently for next time? Hooray for not going to the vending machines. That's progress. When I first read BFF I thought boyfriend and thought Troo has a boyfriend now? I have been gone a while. Sea lions are fun. I would enjoy that. 10 is an impressive number for your showing.
@cbabie Sorry about your knee. How about do some arm exercises while you heal? Some flexibility exercises to keep up the daily habit of exercise.

Another heat wave is here so won’t be any cardio plus the toe. Plan on doing a fit on workout later on then will be busy doing book work today. Hubby only works the morning tomorrow (drives truck) so going to go for a ride with him then off to the lake. Have friends camping with us this weekend so going to be another fun one.0
-
Morning all, it rained and thundered here so loud that it woke the house...baby girl was scared. Sounded like someone ran into our house. LOL. So it will be MUGGY here today. So probably no outdoor adventures. Ate my emotions again yesterday...working on that shield around me. I am taking this class about lies concerning our self worth and it's really interesting how we as women look for our value, in other people. I take things too personally. LOL
@trooworld I am so sorry your DH was still sick, I do hope he is better now.. I love that you can look back and say I wouldn't have done anything different!! Good for you.
@renaegry Enjoy your weekend.
@theslightedgeforever don't have a response..LOL. not sure what I will do. (make it through the day)

@renaegry I see you have a heat wave too. Did you get your exercise done?
@cbabie Interesting class. What can you do besides eat your emotions?
Unhelpful thought: I don't want to think about the problem. I just want to eat.
Helpful response: Eating is just a short term fix that will make me feel even worse in the long run.

@trooworld woohoo on your water. I got 50%. Boxing sounds fun. I did a kickboxing class once. I think I was too out of shape at the time. Had I been about 30 lbs lighter it would have been fun. When I was young I liked group settings like aerobic classes but now I'm older I like working out on my own. Although having a set time for "exercise" has its advantages. I was reviewing some old notes that I had from a book I did in 2019. I probably told you these then but telling you again.

@trooworld That is great that you are into doing a boxing class! I tried to do a Beachbody boxing program, but my back didn’t appreciate the fast moves, but it was fun. And I say if you can afford it and like it then go for it! Getting exercise is so very important and most of us don’t get near enough.
@cbabie We are having the same muggy weather and I’m looking out the window now at an approaching storm that will have my dog barking in outrage. I agree that we women often take into account what people think about us much more than we should. You deserve much more than that!
Hello! I’m back from Florida. I actually came back Tuesday afternoon but was wiped out all day yesterday and today I had to go to work. Mom is very happy to be back in her room with nothing to do. It wasn’t a good idea for her to go because she really isn’t in good enough physical shape to take care of a house and three small kids. But none of us realized it until she was there and trying to do what was needed. Thankfully, my niece’s oldest son’s father has moved in, and he will be the help, my sister until she is fully recovered. She is doing very well and is improving daily. I’m working on getting the extra weight off that I put on while traveling and on Saturday, I’m starting another round of the data driven fasting. This time, I’m really going to give it my all and that means I’m even going to track my food. I hate tracking but I also need to know where I stand with my macros and make sure that my protein intake is high enough.

Morning all, It is raining here. We are finally getting some rain this year. We need it so much. 2020 was just not a good year for rain, covid, etc..LOL. We all had so high hopes for 2020..But you know I think it made us appreciate what we are doing in 2021. LOL I didn't eat well the last 2 days, but I am tracking so I KNOW I am not eating well. You can't change what you don't track they say. I did go for a walk day before yesterday, until I got TOO HOT..then later swam in my pool for about 1/2 hour, so I just keep trying.
@trooworld You plan on the boxing sounds like a great plan. Yea on the eating...at least one of us is doing well..
@TeresaW1020 So glad you are back and safe and hopefully rested. Glad your sister is doing well and it's working out with the father of the niece. You just like to track...LOL. Kidding.. You will get the weight off, you have already created habits earlier that are still in place and will get you back on track.
@theslightedgeforever Yes you are the social one, now that you like doing things on your own, does that mean I will be the social one? NOT!!!! LOL
Cbabie0 -
@teresaw1020 Welcome back. Nothing better than home. You will get back into the swing of things and the weight will come back off. One of my books I was reviewing tonight was talking about road trips and what to expect. We can't expect to do the same as our "stay at home plan". It's from the Diet Trap book. Same author as Beck Diet Solution and her daughter.
Take it on the Road.....
Think of all the different ways you would be away from your home on a trip. How long will you be away?
How much weight could you gain if you aren't careful
How much control will you have over food
Is there access to microwave and refrigerator
Can you bring or buy some favorite snack foods
Who will be with you
Will they likely support be neutral or undermine your efforts.
4 plans to choose from:
Continue to eat exactly as now
Continue to eat but add in 300 calories a day
Continue to eat as now but on 2-3 days add 500 calories
Continue to eat but factor in 1000 calories one time only preferably on last day.
Read response cards daily and before you go out to eat
Get in more exercise than normal
Plan ahead and what you are going to eat for the first day and the next. Make it simple and have things ready on hand for it.
Plan for when you will go to the store and get right back on your exercise program too right away
@trooworld I don't know if you should even try and keep up with the others as you may not be in the same physical shape as they are. Even cardio fitness is a factor. I say do what you can do and then you will get better and better the more you do it. The important thing is to have fun while you are doing it.
@cbabie That's great that you are being active and tracking. So much better than before. That's progress. Actually being social would be a good thing for you. Studies show that people who have a good social life live longer.
