Is it weird that I've always had a bit of a crush on this painting... I mean, how weird?

They’re wonderful. And like an instrument or a sport, will only get better with practice. I particularly like the cat and the rooster. They have personality. I collect folk art. I guess that’s why they call to me.2 -

Speaking of folk art, this one is by Mississippi folk artist Elayne Goodman. I asked her about it and she doesn’t remember painting it and wasn’t familiar with the Klimt painting, but this is definitely one of hers, although is different from her usual recycled material or dot pieces.

If you ever find yourself in Atlanta, message me and I’ll take you up to the Booth Museum of Western Art. No idea why it’s in Georgia, of all places, but it’s a Smithsonian affiliate and has a fantastic collection.1 -

One of my favorite things to do in Europe is look at the Baby Jesuses in the paintings in the old masters galleries. Especially the ones that look like little old wizened men in the Madonna’s arms.
The demons are fun, too.0 -

I’ve been lucky enough to see several of her original paintings. The skin tones are exquisite. Her story is fascinating.1 -

If you like beautifully illustrated kids books, Mercer Meyer’s “A Boy, A Dog and a Frog” series are wonderfully illustrated, really funny, and have no words. Kids have to make up the story as they go along.1
