So I have to apologize/ vent b/c I ave been a total slacker since friday! I have not posted b/c my food diaries have been so bad I can't even bear to make it public. It started Saturday when i had to watch my boyfriend's nephew [well my nephew seeing as I have been auntie missy since he could talk]. I honestly do not know how all of you with kids do it! Well I had him by myself saturday until my BF got home late saturday night, then we had hime all day sunday and all day monday too!

So to make a long story short, he is 4 and eating those 3 days with a four year old was not good. We are talkin pretzels at the play place, mcDonalds, Friendly's! It was bad, so needless to say My eating habits took a nose dive. So that is why I haven't been posting, but Today I am back on track and will post again.

But seriously, I am in aww of those of who have been taking this journey and raising children. I really don't know how you do it.

I am a parent and I take it as a great leson that I can teach my son. He is 5. He has always been a great healthy eater naturally. Not sure where he gets it from. But anyways he loves trying new fruits and vegetables with me. Loves helping make a healthy home cooked meal. Since I started this journey we have talked alot about why we want to eat healthy and what can happen to our bodies if we don't take care of them. I hope that this experience will stick with him for his whole life and that he will never have to live a day overweight. Don't get me wrong we still have a splurge now and then and go to mcdonalds but is only once a month or once other month. He is surprisingly ok with it.

We've got 4 boys, and generally we eat at home, because even to go to McD's for lunch or dinner can run us 40 bucks or more. We do have days (this week, Monday night--One kid had clarinet lesson from 5 to 5:30, then had karate from 5:30 to 6:30, and a cub scout meeting at 7. Another kid had guitar lesson from 5:30 to 6. Another one of the kids had swimming from 5:30 to 7:30, but wanted to go to the library after school, so we had to pick him up from there before swimming. And the last boy had basketball from 7:00 to 8:30. On top of that, my DH and 3 of the boys had eye exams beginning at 2:30 right after school let out.). On these kinds of days, there just isn't a way to plan a dinner where someone can be home to cook. DH took himself and 2 of the kids to Bonanza in between activities, and picked up McD's for the one who had 3 activities. The oldest who wanted to hang at the library, bought himself some noodle spinach and onion dish from the eatery at the library. I came home and had leftovers... lol.

For the most part though, we just make whatever for dinner, and the kids have to eat it. Too bad for them if they don't like it...

would have got more from exercise but my gym just got 2 new Zumba teachers who are horrible, in an hour class I barely broke a sweat tonight. With my old teacher I would leave class dripping and burning around 800 calories in the hour. I am seriously considering getting certified as a Zumba trainer. Now to find an extra $300 lying around....

Very bad eating day, not calorie-wise, but just in my planning. I woke up today with a stiff, sore lower back (thank you yoga yesterday--felt so good while doing it, but could feel my back kinking as I drove home), so didn't actually do any real exercise. Interestingly enough, when I was playing the balance games on the wii fit, my back did loosen up enough to make it through the day without a trip to the chiropractor. Will get back to exercise tomorrow I think...

You guys look like you are all doing so great! Keep up the awesome work!

Sorry I have been away for a few days... I had Kidney Stones! Ouch! Needless to say, yesterday when I was home recovering, I was horrible! My computer was in the shop for repairs the last two days to boot, so I never recorded anything either :(

This week I only lost .5 of a lb instead of my usual 2 lbs per week and I'm convinced it was because of yesterday and Wednesday... so back today with vengeance !

My office goes for lunch on the first Friday of each month... Well today is that day. Chinese food! I pre-recorded everything before I left... will be a hefty lunch but I'm going to exercise tonight and eat some low cal homemade cabbage soup for dinner.

I went WAY over on sodium today. We made soy meat tacos (due to Lent) and everything I put in seemed to be super high (soy ground meat, FF refried black beans & taco seasoning). But yummy all the same, and I've already had 12 glasses of water, and will probably get another couple in before bed.

The stuffed french toast I had for breakfast was not as good as I would have liked. I've been wanting it for a while now (done at a restaurant just down the road from us). I had an hour to kill between dropping the kids off at school and needing to go to work, so I thought I'd go eat breakfast. Instead of using the good thick texas toast bread , they used two regular slices of white bread. And too much egg! It had blobs of egg stuff all around the edges, and the inside of the french toast was still soggy from it. And they put sooo much whipped cream on it (I think to cover the icky look of the toast) that even after I scraped half off it was a lot! I kind of guestimated amounts and brands, but figure I got pretty close. It'll be a while before I get that craving again....

I would really like to join this thread. I have gotten out of the routine of tracking my food, I often think I can just do it in my head, ya right. That's what I did yesterday, so I don't have anything to post. But I'm going out tonight and knowing I'm posting my food tomorrow will help me stay on track.

Anything else you need to know about me, or anything I need to know about this thread before I start? I didn't read all 6 pages, so if there's something I missed, please fill me in.

    Thanks!!
