Tracey - thank you. I'm afraid those clips won't work for me since our house is brick. However, you've given me an idea that I need to think on. Love the ceramics.

Allie - wonder what dollar tree is going to do about the price of cards? Will they be 2 for $1.25? What about the ones right now that are 2 for $1.00?

Jess gave us a tour of her school. Most of the things we'd already seen but it was still interesting. Then had our Thanksgiving. Ate too much. Tomorrow I want to go shopping with colby's mom mainly so that we aren't a distraction for Jess since she wants to study.

Went to Walmart to see about getting my coupon redeemed since I totally forgot to use it. I couldn’t believe it that they told me I had to go to the store where I bought it to use the coupon. So I returned the conditioner then bought it again this time using my coupon . Then went to Menards. I was very disappointed in their selection of holiday items. They didn't have much at all.

Want to get a iowa state Hoodia. I think I'll have to pay full price (and then some) for it.

This morning while we were having breakfast this couple came in their pajamas. Then I realized that the breakfast was going to close in 10 minutes. I thought it just funny that they came in pajamas.

    Michele now in Iowa

Today we all went back over to my middle sons house. Lee had made reservations at a Double tree Inn, that's just 5 minutes away from them. Athena and I made her daddy his birthday cake. I thought it would be easier to keep if I made mini loaves. Everyone said the yellow cake was really moist. Athena my co baker turned into Athena the frosting tester. I will post pictures when my son sends them to me. She then watched me mash the potatoes, and took a spoonful of the mashed potatoes to her Uncle Galen💖. Still getting used to him. He looks like daddy but not. It was a fun day!

    Ps
Bought turkey slices from the deli (25 slices of white meat). It was $42 but at least it will be convenient and won't waste space in their oven or fridge. They can always buy a small turkey another time. I know my middle son doesn't boil the carcass to make soup, and I don't want to bring it up to our place!

Rebecca - In my first marriage, we used to be friends with a couple of which the husband looked remarkably like mine. Same mannerisms and voice too. He was a bit shorter!
One day I was playing with my first son, who was about 6 months old, in the living room, when the baby heard the sounds of his daddy approaching the door. When the door opened, it was the friend who came in.
I have never forgotten the look on my baby's face. Delight....Doubt.....Confusion.....Fear.....Howling terror and tears!
    <3:o<3:p

Going to start my Christmas cards today. I will enclose a slip, telling those I didn't get round to notifying, about my broadcast. It's available for 29 days afterwards! Got to type one up. I know I missed a few who would have liked to listen.
Otherwise, Saturday is newspaper day. Supposed to be cold and very windy. I was thinking of going to the fish market, but it's on the harbour, so ........ :#

Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

    November: leaner/stronger/kinder than October.
    Accountability:
Chose well: BP, made up 11/19 T’ai Chi, dogs to powerline.
Bonus: portioned and froze bone broth, reconciled credit card statement.
    Just one thing:
27: Join a friend doing their hobby and find out why they love it. Nope. Friends’ hobbies don’t appeal, or if they do, their virus risk tolerance is higher than mine..

Second attempt at Jane Golden T’ai Chi video, focused on shifting weight sloooowly from leg to leg. Yow! What a thigh workout!

    Michele, “…tiny ants” Yuck! [shudder]
Rita best of luck to you! You are so brave to tackle substitute teaching unruly 3rd graders. :astonished:]
    Debbie Used to love stopping at the Dixon produce stand, boy am I envious of those prices! Sounds like it’s time for a loving conversation about a fair division of labor with your menfolk. Then to go on strike…. ;}

Really enjoyed my day-after-Thanksgiving Wonder Bread/Best Foods/jellied cranberry sauce/turkey sandwich. One more day to indulge then time to swap veggies and fruits for starches and sweets.

    Lighter, lovelies!

DH & I are staying with our son & DDIL in Virginia. They have a new baby boy & our wonderful 3 year old grandson as well. The house has been transformed with a tall, artificial, Christmas tree and other decorations. It is lovely. I am enjoying the visit, but look forward to going home. 🎄

Katla: So pleased you're finally getting to spend time with your grandsons.
Debbie: I agree with Barbara. You do all that work, and they don't even have the decency to spend time with you? That's just plain rude!

My rest scores. Thank you Machka!

How To Interpret Your Results: Based on your input, the type of rest with the highest score is the one you should focus on. It is the primary type of rest you are missing in your life. If you score 0-15: You are getting adequate rest in this area f you score 16-25: You are experiencing rest in this area but would thrive with more. If you score 26-35: You are feeling the effects of your lack of rest and need a change. If you score >35: Your life is negatively affected by your lack of rest in this area.

    Category Scores
    Physical Rest Score: 26
    Mental Rest Score: 15
    Emotional Rest Score: 17
    Spiritual Rest Score: 15
    Social Rest Score: 18
    Sensory Rest Score: 17
    Creative Rest Score: 15

Fairly accurate, but I don't feel I get too little physical rest. I love my exercise!

    :p

Hey all! Happy Saturday! I worked last M-W, cooked and cleaned up after Thanksgiving on Thursday, so I did as little as possible yesterday. lol I made out my grocery list, planned activities for the kids for next week, and undecorated for fall and put those away. I then watched a couple of movies, ate the leftover green veg blend for dinner, and went to bed at 9:30. Slept until 6:00 this morning, got up and got the coffee going and got some bean soup started in the crock pot. Today my "to do " list is
    -start soup
    -shopping (2 hours)
    -childcare paperwork (one hour)
-post pics of snowblowers for sale on marketplace (15 min)
-decorate for Christmas (1 hour due to no tree)
This year, instead of a tree in my living room, I am building a cardboard "gingerbread" house. I will let the kids decorate it with whatever they find in my craft bins and recycle bin. Should be interesting (and gluey). Pretty sure it will keep them busy creating for the weeks until Christmas. I am going to hang lights on it and in it, so they can play inside and it will look pretty. I will assemble that tomorrow. I am also going to make a felt Christmas tree with felt ornaments that the kids can decorate and re decorate each day.
I took the "rest test" that Machka posted. I actually scored better than I thought I would. Just goes to show you, that even if you are a little off your game, it really messes with your balance/emotional stability.

Rebecca- Can't wait to see pics of Athena covered in frosting! lol It is always heartwarming to see our grandbabies bonding with their parents siblings! My grandsons LOVE their Uncle Colin.
Heather- Oooh, the girls will love their gifts from you! I was going to suggest looking up some STEM or STEAM gifts for Max. They have all kinds of mechanical/building sets or science stuff. Those children's microscopes look pretty neat. I am curious as to how well they work...

Well, time marches on. It is nice to NOT have kids here, but there are always things that need to be done to get ready for them. I am positive that if there is ever NO to do list hanging in my kitchen, it will mean I am dead. lol ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Oh! Kids and look alike uncles- My DH is a twin. My husbands twin brother would always try to fool the kids when they were small. Even though my DH and his brother look identical, the kids always knew who was who. I remember when my daughter was about a year old, there was a look of confusion on her face for about a minute as her uncle held her; then she started crying and reached out to her daddy. Kids are smarties.
When I first started dating my DH, his brother came to the door when I went to their house and tried to pass himself off as DH. I immediately knew the difference. Something about the eyes...

Well done on finding the quiz @cityjaneLondon and @KJLaMore :)

It's here if anyone else is curious:

I couldn't believe mine was so bad and wondered if maybe they graded everyone badly. Guess not! Compared with when I was in university, I feel like I rest. I hate to think what I would have scored while in uni!

    Saturday --

It was a surprisingly gorgeous day today. Warm, sunny, bright blue sky.

In the early afternoon, we headed out with a load of green waste. The local tip was having a free green waste day.

Once we got rid of that, we nipped into the tip shop and picked up a table for my keyboard (piano) that might work better than what I had. It's $5 so if it doesn't work, it's not a big loss.

Then it was out to our favourite gravel place for another big load of gravel. Lots of shovelling and lifting. And we laid the gravel. The path is really coming along. It looks great! We've done the part we were initially going to do, but we've decided to extend it. It will get rid of some of our grass so there will be less mowing. Because of the different levels and things, we've got some really odd and awkward bits of grass that need mowing and it's a pain. So we'll probably lay weedmat and then gravel over it.

Then I weeded for a while. I don't mind clover but when it goes to vines which extend everywhere and wrap around everything it's a pain. Once I pulled a lot of it out, I thought I might seed the area with grass, but now I'm thinking maybe a large bushy plant might be better. Knowing next to nothing about gardening means I'll have to do some research.

I had put the towels in the wash, so they had to be hung out to dry.

And then I went for a walk to the beach, along the beach, and back.

When I got back, it was time for dinner ... so we had pizza in the patio. :)

This evening I've been reacquainting myself with my website.

Barbara - I know that I won't be able to go back to decent eating until we leave. But I am trying to make better choices. Like this morning I had toast instead of a bagel. I did have yogurt. Unfortunately, all they had was flavored yogurt. But I figured that was better than a waffle.

Kj - when my kids were little I put 24 candy canes on a hanger and they had one every night. Gave them the visual of how long it was until Christmas. I know Denise's daycare did something like that only with loops. Every day they took a loop off the chain

Want to go shopping with Colby's mom today mainly so that Jess can have time to study without distraction, not because we need anything.

Katla- so glad you're having such a good time. When was the last time you got to see the kids

    Michele temporarily in Iowa
