Afternoon all, Its crazy here and I am not in my routine. I will say that I will lose, gain, or maintain. I am just going to get through the next 2 weeks and enjoy it and not worry about the house or anything that I have control over..LOL. There are a lot of dynamics to my life and family and I just want to cruise through until after my grandson leaves.
@trooworld you have to try Chic-Fil-A..LOL. I am sorry about your family not really having a get together this year, but I know you can enjoy whomever you are with (DH) LOL and make memories.
@TeresaW1020 new rings and you love them..Your DH is a gift. I am glad you have the attitude of we can get on with the healing!!!! Just think starting your NY with healing and not unknown...It will be chaotic until you get your ducks in a row..LOL
@theslightedgeforever I think you have a good plan to end your year. I too want to find a way to eat what I want and not have to eat salads for the remainder of my years left. LOL. Glad DH test came back good..
Cbabie0 -
@cbabie Sometimes you just have to put your life on the back burner and simmer. Balance, balance on the salads.
@trooworld I can find a good perspective (silver lining) on just about anything. I had a mother who believed in the life/lemons/lemonade approach to life. Some exercise is good for some serotonin and dopamine.

@trooworld Your family will be in my prayers and you are in my heart.
AND when you go to Chic-Fil-A you want the spicy chicken sandwich, fries, and Chic-Fil-A sauce. Mom says their mac-n-cheese is really good too.
@theslightedgeforever Yes, we are not only older we are wiser and I know that we are all going to have a better year because of what we have learned in this year. I too believe in finding the silver lining whenever possible.
@cbabie I think making the decision to cruise through the next couple of weeks is a great idea! You don’t need to add a bunch of pressure on yourself. Enjoy this time and make happy memories!
Good morning and Merry Christmas Eve! I got my booster yesterday and I feel like someone has slugged me in the arm. I wasn’t going to get it but since hubby will be in the hospital, I can’t take any chances of getting sick and not being able to see or take care of him. He was proud of me.Today we need to run to the grocery store and I want to go earlier than later because I know the traffic will be terrific.
Tonight is our Christmas Eve candlelight service. We will come home to a crockpot full of chili and this evening there will be wine, and I think we are going to watch that great Christmas classic, Die Hard. I hope you all have a wonderful day.

@trooworld Lasagna sounds like a wonderful Christmas dinner. I'm making us a spiral ham with mashed potatoes, stuffing, and air fryer Brussel sprouts. Is it weird that I'm most looking forward to the sprouts?
Christmas Story is my favorite movie. I'm going to watch it tomorrow while I make dinner and take down the tree. Bummer about the rain. We are bright and sunny here today. I know better than to wish for snow but I still do every year.
Merry Christmas Eve!! It's almost 3 pm and I've spent most of the day packing up my Christmas decorations. It's all done except for the main tree and I'm serious that I think I've found a new tradition. I always dread having to put it all away after Christmas and now I don't have to. My mom thinks I'm nuts but my sweet hubby knows better than to stop me so he helped where needed and stayed out of my way for the rest of it. Tonight is church then home for chili and cornbread. I've decided to crack open the bottle of champagne that has been living in my fridge since our anniversary. Hubby will be in the hospital on New Year Eve so we are going to celebrate it tonight. We are also going to watch Die Hard. It's going to be a good night!0 -
Hi all…Merry Christmas Eve. We came to dd in OK yesterday. Tonight I am wondering if it was a mistake…she acts like she is coming down with something & I sure hope it isn’t “you know what!” At least dh & I have our shots & boosters, so hopefully protected if it is.
@TeresaW1020 Good luck with your dh’s surgery next week. I can’t imagine taking down my Christmas decorations yet..in fact they will be waiting for me at home when we go back, lol.
@cbabie. I am just coasting for awhile, too. Have fun with your family there.
@trooworld Ham loaf & lasagna sound great. Have fun with dh & Daisy.
@theslightedgeforever. I think I am a silver lining type person, too.
We went to an outdoor Christmas Eve service tonight. It is in the 70’s here today. Definitely not my idea of Christmas weather. It was nice, but very windy so couldn’t have candles.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas however you are celebrating…with lots of people or few.0 -
Hope everyone has a great day!0 -
@RetiredAndLovingIt We are having VERY warm temps here too. Strange but I'm not hating it! I usually always take down my decorations right after Christmas. This year, I'm just a bit more eager to get it done so I can concentrate my DH.
@trooworld I’m sorry that you didn’t have a very good Christmas and had to spend much of it at home alone. I know that can be difficult and it sucks. I am glad that your dinner turned out to be really good. Are you still feeling sick? I sure hope not!
@gemwolf110 Love that doggy Christmas card!!
Hello! Well, Christmas was very nice and since my mom has been shopping since October it was slightly obnoxious the number of presents, I had to open. The funniest gift she gave me was a big box full of every kind of perfume sample you can imagine. I think I must have well over 100 different tiny samples of perfumes. I had mentioned one day that I would love to find a new scent and well now I’m going to get my chance to fine one!
Yesterday and today, I finished putting away all the Christmas stuff and cleaned the house. Hubby and I even did a bit of rearranging of our living room, and I like it so much better. We just need to get that sectional to make it perfect.

Hi all..this will be short..I am on my IPad.
@gemwolf110 Love the doggy Christmas card.
@trooworld Sorry you were alone for most of Christmas. Is your bil getting along better? I think dd is feeling better…because we are here she has taken 3 at home Covid tests & all were negative. She looks a lot better, still some cough which sounds like her usual asthma cough. I still feel fine.
@TeresaW1020 I totally get it why you want all the Christmas stuff cleaned up so quickly this year. You do need to have more time to help your dh.
@everyone else…hope you had a Merry Christmas. I had 2 Christmas dinners with dd’s & my birthday was this week. Time to start reining it in a little more & get with my program…once I figure out what my program is that is. Just saying I will eat less isn’t doing it, lol.1 -
I'm here. I'm here. I didn't realize it had been that long. I had a nice Christmas Eve dinner with friends. Playing Name that Christmas song/singer. I've been working on my goals the past 2 days. Nothing like the end of the year to get into that spirit.
@teresaw1020 Chili sounds really good. Lots of fiber in the beans and spice to keep me warm. I was laughing about Christmas decorations down already cause I'm like it's not New Year's yet. But then thought, you put yours up pretty early.
@trooworld I wonder if there are words for opposite of life/lemons/lemonade.Vaxxed to the max. I like that slogan. I want a Tshirt. It's not being selfish asking for your needs. I call it taking care of yourself. Putting yourself first. (which yes, I know some would say that's being selfish) LOL But I know you don't do it all the time.
@retiredandlovingit How long will you be in OK? "you know what" seems to be everywhere. My son was diagnosed a couple of days before Christmas. He's okay now just waiting to get out of quarantine. He took a rapid test which was negative but then went in and took a PCR test and was positive. Some people are saying that the rapid tests aren't picking up the new virus. I have no idea. I'm just glad he wasn't worse. Although he has spent his vacation being sick and forced to stay indoors. lol Good news on your dd getting better. I get the asthma cough with the cold weather. Happy Birthday. How about checking your MFP stats and finding out your average calories and then eat less than that. Pick a number.
@gemwolf110 I LOVE your card.
Well I gained 1.2 this past week. I did keep up my tracking and my exercise over the holidays.

@RetiredAndLovingIt Happy birthday!! What kind of plan are you thinking of doing? Weren’t you giving vegetarianism a try?
@trooworld A well-organized craft room is going to inspire you to create all kinds of wonderful things. Yes, do post a pic of your space! Do you and your DH have any New Year’s Eve plans?
@theslightedgeforever I did put my Christmas up way too early which is one of the reasons I was so happy to have it all down. My house looks so much bigger now!Yup, I’m working on my 2022 goals too and getting myself ready to make them happen.
Hello! Well, Hubby got a call from the doctor and his surgery has been postponed to Monday the 3rd. We are annoyed since we both had our schedules planned out. But we will have to adjust. We go in the morning to talk to the surgeon. Tomorrow night, we are going to the Festival of Lights down at the botanical gardens and then out to a nice dinner. They were all booked before Christmas, which is why we are going tomorrow. It will be fun since we haven’t had a date night since our anniversary.

Hey everyone.
Wow its been like 3 months since I've been here! I completely fell off the wagon after birthdays etc then Christmas. I started my weight loss journey again on boxing day. I didn't want to wait till new year. I'm down 3lbs already ☺️ I've signed up for weight watchers digital as it was free for 4 months. No excuses now. I'm back to calorie counting and focusing on me!
All the best to all. Happy new year!0 -
@trooworld I keep forgetting to tell you that I am drinking Death Wish coffee this week and I LOVE it!! It's so smooth that I even love it black.
A healthy salad sounds really good!
@Roz0810 Welcome back! Stay focused and determined and you will make it happen. Happy New Year!
I just looked at the time and I have to go get dressed and go see hubby's doctor. I'll write later!0 -
Thanks very much ❤️0

Hi all, I am sorry I am MIA...I can't catch up on the post right now. I just wanted to pop in and say I am alive. My life is not my own right now...with my GS and his wife here...I am doing everything out of 1 room and I am exhausted..they leave in a week..so I should be back to normal. I will pop in when I can, but I didn't expect to be gone this long ...
. I will slowly try to read through the post and reply when I can..

Hmmm.. I have no idea why I didn't check in yesterday.
@teresaw1020 My goals are almost finished for Q1 of 2022. The festival of lights sounds fun.
@roz0810 Welcome back. Congrats on the 3 lbs. You can do it.
@trooworld Yaaaay on your salad. Lots of people eat like it's their last meal this week thinking "I'm really going to do well at the first of the year". I've been known to do that in the past. But this year is different for me. I'm staying OP for the most part.
@cbabie Glad you checked in.

I found out today one of the ladies I was with on Christmas Eve is covid positive. She started showing symptoms on the 26th. So fingers crossed here. I'm wearing a mask in the house cause of my mil for a bit until I make sure I don't have anything.
Good news is I lost a little bit of that Christmas gain. Still up a 1/2 lb from where I was this time last week.0 -
@trooworld I’m glad that your boss gave you “permission” to enjoy your Thursday. What kind of New Year’s Eve plans do you and your hubby have? My DH is watching a much-anticipated football game that starts at 7 pm and I will be browsing channels. Maybe start a new puzzle. I haven’t done one in a while and I got three new ones for Christmas. Including a puzzle of the cast of the Office.
@cbabie Good to see you popping in. Hang in there!
@theslightedgeforever Yikes, that is too bad that you might have been exposed to the dreaded Covid. I drove a testing site that is right up the road and the line was huge. I sure hope all those people won’t get a positive test result. Good job on losing some weight! It’s truly shameful how much I’ve gained.
Hello everyone! Hubby and I had a great time at the light show last night. We even made our own S’mores. Afterward, we went to the local brewery and had dinner and beers. It was their trivia night so that made it extra fun. I went to work today and learned more bookkeeping details. Our new mattress is finally getting today and I’m super excited!! I am so praying that it helps my back feel better than it has been.

@teresaw1020 Just as you put on the weight, you will take it right back off. Just work your plan! Trivia night. I would have loved it. So far so good on symptoms. Still just a slight headache but I'm wondering if it's sinuses.
@trooworld I don't want to start the year higher than I need to. God knows it's high enough already. I do same thing for NYE, watch the shows until the ball drops and then sing NY NY Frank Sinatra style. Downsizing of goals is good. It's called focus. What percent would you give "somewhat accomplished"? I'm asking so this next year you can see definite progress made. For the ones you said 'not accomplished' Did you do those at all in 2021? Your goals are written out very well. Nice action verbs, time-triggered, measurable,
I'm currently doing a course on goals. Yesterday was my 2000 day check in. Woohoo! For some reason I thought it was today and so didn't pay attention to it yesterday. Go me! Gosh how many years is that? Almost 5 1/2 years. That just seems crazy. My brain usually tells me that "I'm not consistent". Helloooo, I think I am. Now to transfer this consistency to my food plan so I won't spend the next 5 1/2 years trying to achieve final my weight loss goal.

@trooworld I don’t think you did lousy this year, but I get that you are disappointed in what you didn’t accomplish. I am the same way and just looking at my yearly progress and how I totally undid most of my hard work in just over two months is appalling. But what are we to do but draw a line and begin again? We never give up!!
@theslightedgeforever Yup, I will work my plan and I will get the weight back off. I feel that even though I did gain much of it back, I have also learned a lot this year about what does work for me and if I just get back to that then the scale will go down again. The last of the fruit cake gets eaten tonight so that should help. 😉 Wow, 2000 check-ins are incredible! You must be very proud of yourself!
Hello everyone! DH and I went to his pre-op appointment this morning. His surgeon called this afternoon and said that his sodium is a little lower than they want for surgery, so he upped DH’s sodium tablets and is limiting his fluids. So, we must be at the hospital at 5:30 am on Monday and if his sodium is high enough and he passes a Covid test they will do the surgery. We are both really hoping it happens so we can get it over with. I swear this is the longest week in history! I started a new puzzle today just so I can stay busy since I had already taken down Christmas and cleaned my whole house, there isn’t much to do. I plan to actually work out tomorrow morning and I’m looking forward to it. I haven’t felt my muscles crying in a while.

Morning all, everyone is still asleep in my house...so I thought I would check in. I am not doing well i th sugar area...you should see all the sweets in my house..but Company will be gone on Monday and back to my goals. It's been rainy and cold here so not much bike riding...
@theslightedgeforever Praying no covid..I still wear my mask when I go out, but not at church...might change that too. LOL You are doing great and you are consistent..it's your sister who isn't.
@TeresaW1020 I pray that your DH gets the surgery on Monday so yes you can get it over and get going on recovery!! I had to put my puzzle up..the frame sat done for a month..LOL. You will get back to your plan...just know this is a season.
@trooworld I think you did great on your goals...mine not so much LOL. I still haven't had time to do my goals for 2022, it's hard with company to get anything done. I hope your DH is just a head cold..so sick of this virus...try not to stress and just RELAX...I think 2022 is going to be a better year.

@trooworld Sorry that you seem to have caught this crazy “bad cold” virus. Will you go take a test or just quarantine yourself? That is what I would do since getting a test is so hard right now. I know so many people, both vaxed and unvaxed who are sick. Hopefully, this thing will run its course and be done.
@cbabie It’s super hard to stay out of sugar when you are surrounded by it. On Monday, get it out of your house and start fresh.
@gemwolf110 Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year! Well, my New Year’s Eve was spent in front of the TV flipping channels and binging on TikTok and Candy Crush. Hubby spent the evening in another room watching the Orange Bowl and his precious DAWGS take the win. We were in bed at 10 minutes to midnight with the fan on high trying to drown out the fireworks and keep Maggie quiet.I did wake up with a renewed intention to get back to losing weight. I ended the year with a whopping 6 lb. loss and a 10 lb. gain since the end of October. Most annoying! And while I have worked out the last two days and have eaten much better, I am going to cut myself some slack due to DH and the upcoming surgery. I have a new Marty Kendall challenge starting on January 8th and hopefully, by then DH will be home recovering and I can switch more attention to myself.
1 -
@TeresaW1020 We are all learning about ourselves on this journey. Evidently I'm taking the scenic route. Your muscles are saying Yaaaay she's back. Hopefully all will go well on Monday so you can get that part out of the way.
@trooworld So you are consistent checking in here. Pick one thing and you can be consistent there too. I have discovered there is a difference between consistent and perfection. I think I was shooting for perfection in the other areas. Hopefully your husband only has a cold. Oh no you too? I love your new phrase.
@cbabie Yes, wear the mask in church. I'm sure many people get covid in church. Be like your sister.I laughed when you said I think 2022 will be a better year. We all said that about 2021. I have 3 friends who have 2 of their kids sick with covid.
@gemwolf110 I hope you had a wonderful time last night doing whatever you do on NYE. I always wish to do something different every year.

@trooworld My son took a rapid test and it was negative and then two or three days later took a reg one and it was positive. I just had the same thing happen to my friend. Only I think her son took two regular ones. First one negative and two days later positive. Someone recently told me that Americans eat black eyed peas on New Years day as a tradition. I said, I'm an American and never heard of this. LOL Your foods sounded good. I hope you feel better.

@trooworld I hope you feel better. I didn't like black eyed peas as a child but I'm wondering now if I would like them. My taste buds have grown up somewhat.
I hope you get a negative test today.
I lost 1.2 lbs this week but 1.9 since I last entered my weight here. So I'm on the right path

@trooworld I assume that your Covid test will come back positive from the way you feel. So many people have it. I overheard a manager at Walmart this evening say that half their staff is out sick. Yikes! And the news today said that they don’t even think cloth masks work for this stupid new variant. That could be good news because I HATE the masks and would just as soon stop the pretense of safety that they don’t even provide.
OMG, I love your phrase for 2022!! It’s perfect!
@theslightedgeforever Yeah, the news today was talking about how unreliable the rapid test is. Fortunately, my job will never require me to get a test, so if I do get sick I will probably just quarantine the best I can and ride it out. That is what I think most of us in the world are going to have to do. Ugghhh I watched way too much news today and it totally bummed me out.Congrats on your weight loss this week! Ohh and the only black-eyed peas that I’ve eaten is in Cowboy Caviar.
Hello, well DH had his surgery and according to the doctor, it went really well. My poor dear was so drugged up on morphine and still moaning in pain. I sat with him for a few hours but the nurse said he wasn’t going to really wake up so it was fine for me to leave him in their capable hands. I plan to be up there tomorrow at 7 am so I can see his doctor. Hopefully, he will recover quickly and come home. This hospital is huge and undergoing a major renovation, so it’s a zoo to get around. A very nice police officer showed me the way out after I took a very wrong turn.Diet was totally out the window today but I do plan to reign it in and do much better tomorrow. I can’t use DH as a complete excuse for all my gluttony.

Hi all….Not a lot going on here. We came home on Friday because they were forecasting a lot of snow on Sat. Don’t think we got quite as much as they predicted. My throat was so dry on the way home & I have been coughing since Sat. No temp & I don’t feel that bad, but slight chills, so trying to decide if I need a COVID or influenza test. Talked to Dr’s nurse tonight & think I am going to do a telemedicine tomorrow & see if they will order it. Have been staying home away from everyone except dh.
Gd is doing great..she is even walking without crutches now. Going to try all day at school tomorrow & take the bus home since she is cleared to do steps, too. Her brother will carry her backpack the 1/2 block home.
@TeresaW1020 Glad your dh’s surgery went well & hope he will soon be home with you again.
@trooworld Hope your test comes back OK and you get to feeling better. Is your dh doing better?
@theslightedgeforever. Congrats on the loss! I think I am taking the scenic route, too, lol.
Hope everyone has a good week.0 -
Good Morning all! Hope everyone who is sick is feeling better! A lot of people I know are getting sick either with covid or flu or just the regular cold. Got back to work after 10 days off and it wasn’t as bad as expected lol. Even though we had a person out sick it was normal busy and was a productive first day back. The time away was so needed. Spent half of it at home and half of it visiting family. Was nice to recharge and relax.
Have a great day!

Morning all. Back at it today. New year reset. Going to be slow at it. Did this last week. Was stepping backwards off of our back step clearing snow in the -35C coming from a warm vehicle and I seriously pulled my calf. So I couldnt walk for a few days. Then Started limping around. Went shopping yesterday and obviously over did it cause my leg is aching today. So will do some stuff. But don’t think I will be able to hit the treadmill. Was hoping to do a slow walk on it.

@teresaw1020 It's the beginning of the year and you my friend have some goals to get working on. I'm glad dh's surgery was a success. I did that once in a hospital. Got lost and ended up in the basement by the morgue.
My understanding is Delta is still going around so we would still need to wear the masks for those. I think Delta is more dangerous.
@retiredandlovingit Did you decided on a meal plan yet? Isn't being home a great feeling? Yaaay on gd.
oh no about you not feeling good. I laughed at you still staying around dh.
@gemwolf110 Did you decide on 2022 goals? I can't remember if you told us. I'm glad you got to relax some and see family.
@renaegry Ouch on your calf. I know all about slow going. I was just thinking the other day my foot was better and I'm on the mend and then the next day both feet started hurting. I'm better today though. So I hope you heal quickly and can get back to doing what you want to do. How is the food plan? I like our nail polish and tattoo.
