Happy new year everyone! Iβm Athena. I am loving these challenges, they are helping me stay motivated!
My goal for this month is to start to focus on my physical activity, this is where I struggle the most. I plan to wake up and go to the gym on weekdays every morning for 45 minutes and occasionally do classes in the afternoon. Iβll also continue to push to only eat out on weekends/on holidays. I am going to try to lose 4 pounds each month.

Ah! Some change on the scale! I ate pretty light so Iβm not sure if itβs here to stay yet, but will keep trying. Also, my therapist recommended I drink a lot of water, like 8 glasses a day and thatβd help me lose weight too. Never considered that before even though Iβve heard people drinking more water to be healthier/ make them feel fuller. Iβm real bad at remembering to drink water throughout the day so Iβll focus on that now too.

This project will last several weeks. No room. Furniture covered and in the center. No privacy again. However, the dining room turned out nice and the living room will be an even bigger impact! Glad to be getting some of this out of the way during the cold snowy and icy months. I will need some alone time to leave the house to walk when the weather gets better.

Yet the scale is down. Very low steps, practically no water. Very bad sleep, disrupted. Busy, busy day. Yet the scale is down by slightly over Β½ pound. This must be a result of the past couple of days where my meals were more planned and within my limits. I suspect the scale will creep back up because of yesterdayβs fiasco. Iβll work on a good day today.

Iβm going to focus on water today. I havenβt been drinking enough. Glad to see that scale dropped, but also that my trendweight has turned around a tidbit and going down instead of up finally.

January 2β188 (First day of 2022 was mostly spent in the car driving the 11+ hours to my Dad's. I had gotten up before the drive to ride my Peloton and got a PR on my 45 minute time. I have to be more creative while I'm here to get my exercise in but you can bet I'll be doing just that!)

Happy new year everyone! Iβm Athena. I am loving these challenges, they are helping me stay motivated!
My goal for this month is to start to focus on my physical activity, this is where I struggle the most. I plan to wake up and go to the gym on weekdays every morning for 45 minutes and occasionally do classes in the afternoon. Iβll also continue to push to only eat out on weekends/on holidays. I am going to try to lose 4 pounds each month.

Jan 1: 143.
Jan 2: 144.3. Didn't stay within maintenance calories last 2 days. Old problem of eating after I get home from a social thing. Need to go right to bed.
Jan 3: 142.4. Again above maintenance calories yesterday, but I avoided after dinner eating, so that was a success. Met my other goals.
Jan 4: 142.2. Met yesterday's goals.
Jan 5: 142.4. Over calorie goal and didn't walk yesterday.
Jan 6: 142.4. Met goals yesterday.
Jan 7: 142.0. Missed exercise goal but met the others.
Jan 8: 143.4. Missed exercise goal but met the others.
Jan 9: 142.4. Over maintenance calories but met other goals.
Jan 10: 143. Slightly over calorie target, but met other goals. I realized that the last few weeks have been teaching me what my maintenance calories are since my weight has been very steady. So if I really want to lose weight I have to cut out something. This is a good moment for me to rethink my nightly wine drinking.
Jan 11: 142.2. Met goals yesterday. I cut back my nightly wine by half. I'd like to cut it out completely for 3 or 4 nights per week but I need a little time to get my head around that. I'll think about health and taking care of myself and that will help me get there.

Jan 13: 141.8. Met goals yesterday.
Jan 14: 141.8. Wine goal is not happening. Health risks on this should be motivating me but they're not.

This project will last several weeks. No room. Furniture covered and in the center. No privacy again. However, the dining room turned out nice and the living room will be an even bigger impact! Glad to be getting some of this out of the way during the cold snowy and icy months. I will need some alone time to leave the house to walk when the weather gets better.

Yet the scale is down. Very low steps, practically no water. Very bad sleep, disrupted. Busy, busy day. Yet the scale is down by slightly over Β½ pound. This must be a result of the past couple of days where my meals were more planned and within my limits. I suspect the scale will creep back up because of yesterdayβs fiasco. Iβll work on a good day today.

Iβm going to focus on water today. I havenβt been drinking enough. Glad to see that scale dropped, but also that my trend weight has turned around a tidbit and going down instead of up finally.

A slice of pumpkin pie with Cool Whip very late last night likely accounts for the major part of the uptick. That was my only lapse yesterday. Today my goal is to not be influenced to over eat or eat the wrong things. My daughter is off work for her normal 3 day weekend and she eats constantly!

January 2β188 (First day of 2022 was mostly spent in the car driving the 11+ hours to my Dad's. I had gotten up before the drive to ride my Peloton and got a PR on my 45 minute time. I have to be more creative while I'm here to get my exercise in but you can bet I'll be doing just that!)
January 3β188 (Enjoyed the second day of 2022 at my Dad's house. It's cold here but I got my 10K steps by walking inside. I also did a short dumbbell workout and yoga session. He cooks lots of veggies with his meals so that's been great.)

01/18.β¦..193.8β¦..(Trend Weight 193.0)β¦.. Good meals but too much grazing during the day. Extra hungry for some reason. Today there will be more work on the living room reno project. This project will last several weeks. No room. Furniture covered and in the center. No privacy again. However, the dining room turned out nice and the living room will be an even bigger impact! Glad to be getting some of this out of the way during the cold snowy and icy months. I will need some alone time to leave the house to walk when the weather gets better.
01/19.β¦..193.2β¦..(Trend Weight 193.1)β¦.. Well, this certainly proves that results, good or bad, are not always reflected the very next morning. I had a bad eating day yesterday for sure. Yet the scale is down. Very low steps, practically no water. Very bad sleep, disrupted. Busy, busy day. Yet the scale is down by slightly over Β½ pound. This must be a result of the past couple of days where my meals were more planned and within my limits. I suspect the scale will creep back up because of yesterdayβs fiasco. Iβll work on a good day today.
01/20.β¦..192.6β¦..(Trend Weight 193.0)β¦.. Not a perfect day dietary wise, but more improvements made in choices and quantities. Very little movement as it is still restricted. Only 7000+ steps. Iβm going to focus on water today. I havenβt been drinking enough. Glad to see that scale dropped, but also that my trend weight has turned around a tidbit and going down instead of up finally.
01/21.β¦..193.0β¦..(Trend Weight 193.0)β¦.. Great dietary choices yesterday and nice quantities within my limits. Still a lack of movement and low water. The water part I can work on. A slice of pumpkin pie with Cool Whip very late last night likely accounts for the major part of the uptick. That was my only lapse yesterday. Today my goal is to not be influenced to over eat or eat the wrong things. My daughter is off work for her normal 3 day weekend and she eats constantly!

January 2β188 (First day of 2022 was mostly spent in the car driving the 11+ hours to my Dad's. I had gotten up before the drive to ride my Peloton and got a PR on my 45 minute time. I have to be more creative while I'm here to get my exercise in but you can bet I'll be doing just that!)
January 3β188 (Enjoyed the second day of 2022 at my Dad's house. It's cold here but I got my 10K steps by walking inside. I also did a short dumbbell workout and yoga session. He cooks lots of veggies with his meals so that's been great.)
January 4β186.8 (Finding ways to stay active at Dad's. We had supper at my Aunt and Uncle's house last night - homemade lasagna. Finding ways to stay on track despite being out of my normal routine.)

Chocolate glazed... plus omelet bites and hot tea. Was within calorie limits, but had to eat my exercise calories to do so. Still, nice, if cold (for me) ride.

They admitted her. She'll be evaluated in the morning for release or transport to a Level 1 facility. She's been having a rough time lately. I kind of expected this. Still.... I didn't leave the CRC until about 8:45. Hadn't eaten and was hungry. Stopped at a fast food place and made bad choices. Don't care. Blah!

She told me 5 teachers in her school had tested positive yesterday (2 of them were at school when they took the test and they left), so I'm not surprised. Meg is vaxed and boosted, and she seems to be doing pretty well.
01/22/2022 - βοΈ 192.6 (-1.0 / +1.0) - π πΆπβπ - went out to "run" today. It was cool (temp-wise) and hard because I haven't done that in awhile. Tomorrow I'll try to ride. We (as in both my daughters and I) have decided that the only way we're going to survive rent increases is to move in together. We tried to find a place we could share last summer. We didn't have the time we needed. Now, we have the time we need, but it's hard to find a place in our price range that's also in the area we need to be in. Trying to find something that is about equidistant for both girls to get to where they need to be and to get me near a reasonable bus trip to work is proving to be extremely frustrating. Gah!6 -

My goal for this month is to start to focus on my physical activity, this is where I struggle the most. I plan to wake up and go to the gym on weekdays every morning for 45 minutes and occasionally do classes in the afternoon. Iβll also continue to push to only eat out on weekends/on holidays. I am going to try to lose 4 pounds each month.
