@trooworld Yaaaay on the weight loss. Good for you for coming up with a solution to the workout clothes.
@teresaw1020 I agree on the money in waves things. It's like you replace one thing and then two more breaks. My thing has been eating out this week. Some things planned some things not. For the most part I tried to choose healthy or just eat half. I'm also just plain tired this week and so not putting in most of my stretches. You think I would give up the cardio but not the stretches since it seems easier.

@TeresaW1020 True! I did have a good time at the winery. I've heard about people sleeping in their workout clothes but I'd get too hot lol. That's a good idea to put them on first thing in the morning. I hope you found the perfect computer yesterday. Yes, money things do seem to come in waves lol. Do you think it is stress causing you to snack? I hope you enjoyed your workout!
@theslightedgeforever Thank you!
Hi all. I forgot to set my clothes out last night which prompted me to set reminders in my Google calendar to put my workout clothes in the living room. I think that will make a difference. I ate well yesterday but did get into some veggie straws. I did track them. I drank 2 tumblers of water while at work. Not the amount I wanted, but better than it has been. Today, the workers come to finish up the work they started last week (they replaced the window in our spare room and redid the stucco around the outside). They just have to paint the stucco on the outside and the wall on the inside. I'm home all day working from home. The only problem is that the city is temporarily shutting off the water from 8-3! I will stockpile water before the shut-off.

Does anyone find the ww recipes too expensive? or the lunchboxes people make with things like blissballs, blueberries and cherry tomatoes?
I don't find the tracking as good (although I like the focus on healthier foods)
Thinking of quitting. I don't think I can afford $15 a week.0 -
@trooworld Good job on setting forth a new habit. Plus you tracked your veggies straws and you made progress on water. A good day
@stephonww I switched over here to MFP because I became pre-diabetic and the doc said I need to be following a moderate carb plan. So I do carb cycling. I say find a program you can afford and enjoy. @trooworld is doing WW so I think she will be able to give you some good tips.

@stephonww I live in CA so I find all recipes too expensive. But I grumble and buy them anyway lol. One thing I do to keep the cost down is to wait until the special I am on is almost over and call the day before it ends, and ask about current specials. I'll get on the next special rather than pay the full price. If you truly want to quit, there is a free program for tracking that is not by WW but uses their algorithm: it's called Healthi (It used to be called I Track Bites) and can be found here https://www.healthiapp.com/ It's missing most of the functionality of the WW app but does have tracking of some form. Good luck!
@theslightedgeforever Thanks! What's up with not cooking lunch or dinner? Did you go out to eat?
Hi all. I guess I didn't set those Google reminders to start until next week because here I am with no workout clothes. BUT...I will take a break and work some exercise in here and there today. They finished the window (thankfully) and the water was off from about 3pm-??? it was off when we went to bed but on now. Hopefully they don't have to shut it off again. I made a healthy African Peanut Soup for dinner last night and added chickpeas and sweet potatoes to it. It was really delicious and I definitely got my fiber in, it already had collard greens in it.
Water yesterday: 25 oz

@stephonww I used to use that app that @trooworld mentioned for a while. I was trying to double track with here and it got to be too much. I liked it though.
@trooworld Yes on going out to eat. I think hubby has entered the bored phase of retirement. Post the recipe for the soup. At first I'm sitting here with a yuck look on my face at the words peanut and soup in the same sentence but it might taste good. hubby might like it cause he likes peanuts and then he won't want to go out for food. lol

Hi everyone. Been struggling a bit a few days off plan but I'm back to it today. And ofc TOM shows up yesterday! I'm at my highest weight and I'm not happy about it at all so here goes to intermittent fasting, calorie counting, drinking lots of water and some exercise! 😁0
-
@theslightedgeforever Eating out can be dangerous lol. I wish you luck. The soup is delicious and pretty healthy besides the peanut butter! Here it is:
African Peanut Soup (serves at least 6)
4 cups low-sodium vegetable or chicken broth
2 cups water
1 medium red onion chopped
2 tablespoons peeled and minced fresh ginger
4 cloves garlic minced
1 teaspoon salt
1 bunch collard greens (or kale) ribs removed and leaves chopped into 1-inch strips
3⁄4 cup unsalted peanut butter (chunky or smooth)
1⁄2 cup tomato paste
Hot sauce like sriracha (AKA rooster sauce)
1⁄4 cup roughly chopped peanuts for garnish
Cooked brown rice for serving (optional)
1 large sweet potato
15 oz can chickpeas
Combine the broth and water in a medium Dutch oven or stockpot. Bring the mixture to a boil, then add the onion, ginger, garlic and salt. Cook on medium-low heat for 20 minutes.
In a medium-sized, heat-safe mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter and tomato paste, then transfer 1 to 2 cups of the hot stock to the bowl. Whisk the mixture together until smooth, then pour the peanut mixture back into the soup and mix well. Stir in the collard greens and season the soup with hot sauce to taste.
Simmer for about 15 more minutes on medium-low heat, stirring often. Season with additional salt or hot sauce if desired. Serve over cooked brown rice if you’d like, and top with a sprinkle of chopped peanuts.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I sauteed the onion in a pan coated with nonstick spray and then added the garlic, tomato paste, and ginger for the last minute. I then added the broth and water and added 2 cups of cubed sweet potato. I let that simmer for 20 minutes and then added the peanut butter, a can of drained chickpeas, and the kale and let it simmer for another 15 minutes.

@roz0810 I'm glad you were able to get back to the plan. I wish you luck! You've got this!
Hi all. Last night, I didn't feel like cooking so DH made us burritos out of a rotisserie chicken. I'm going to stop scheduling actual meals on Fridays and we will stop at the store and get something easy to make like rotisserie chicken enchiladas or boxed lasagna. I'm ashamed I didn't do any exercise yesterday. I told myself I was going to and I let myself down. I don't know that I will do any today, I've got a busy day of running around. Maybe tomorrow.

@trooworld That is probably a good idea to stop scheduling meals on Fridays. It doesn’t work for you so why put pressure on yourself. When it gets to Fridays you can make a decision on what to get and if it’s something off-plan then you just need to make up for it during the week. Fitting in exercise can definitely be a challenge. I’m able to do it mostly because I have such a flexible work schedule. When I didn’t then it was way harder. You will figure out how to make it work for you.
Hello everyone! It’s a gorgeous spring day but a little too chilly to sit out on the porch. I’ve spent the last couple of days deep cleaning my house and throwing stuff away. I love getting rid of stuff almost as much as I love buying it. I finally feel like I have a good handle on taking over our household bills and I’m getting better at doing the bookkeeping for the church as well. In Bible study, we were talking about our gifts, and I said that I never thought I had the gift of administration and my friend said that was because I never needed it before. How very true! My weight hasn’t budged much this month other than going up a bit but my workouts have been going well and I’ve definitely got a lot of muscle soreness from the weight lifting. OK, I need to go wash Maggie’s dirty little face which will cause her to have a dramatic fit of disgust. I on the other hand will have fun with it.

Hello all! I just canceled my WW account as I haven’t lost anything since the new plan started in November. In fact I gained almost 10 lbs since then. I’ve decided to get back on MFP as it has worked in the past. I was on WW for a little over a year and lost about 60 lbs. I’m glad to find y’all here.1
-
@TeresaW1020 Yes! And I may do the same thing on Saturdays as I didn't feel like cooking last night either. Yes, it is hard to fit in exercise. But I'll find a way! That's great you are clearing stuff out. I need to do that, too. I'm glad you are getting comfortable with the bills and your bookkeeping. That's great you are doing your workouts. LOL about Maggie!
@AliceK813 Hi and welcome! I wish you luck with MFP, it works for lots of people. Congrats on that 60 lb loss! Wow! Awesome. I'm still on WW but I'm the only one on this board that is lol. I'm struggling with the plan but it has nothing to do with the plan and everything to do with my choices but I'll figure it out.
Hi all. I made poor choices yesterday and am going to go back and track it all right now. There, I'm back. I'm -5 for the week. With some exercise and smart choices, I should be able to turn that around. Today, I'm donating blood and folding laundry. Really exciting, I know lol.

I’ve been straddling the line on severing my WW membership.
For now, I’m trying to decide on what to do by tracking on both my WW app and MFP, and while it’s more time consuming to do this, each system provides interesting data points. To add to this I’m also using the Eat Right Now app for mindfulness training - it’s about hacking the habit loop. I strongly believe the only way I’ll finally be successful long term is to address my weight issues through behavior modification.
In 3 days I’m leaving for a much needed vacation, and I’m worried it’ll be an excuse to overindulge. I have the tools, I know what to do, I’m in the groove right now - I just don’t know if I’m ready to face temptation on this level without completely derailing my good intentions. Even one bite of something delicious is like offering crack to an addict - I have no off button.
Suggestions for success are welcome!0 -
Hi all.
Hit my highest weight last week 😢 got it under control the past few days but wow. I just keep remembering last March 2021 when I was serious about losing weight. Dropped 15lbs then lost track. I keep thinking if I stuck to it then I would of been near my goal weight right now!!! But no point dwelling on the what if's. what's done is done. I'm starting over fresh. I'm fed up of messing up so here goes!0 -
@dnarcisso Hi and welcome! I did the double-tracking and found it interesting. The Eat Right Now app sounds cool, I'll have to look it up. I agree about behavior modification. For vacation: what if you ate healthy foods for breakfast and lunch and then slightly indulged for dinner? And tracked all of it as best as you can? Or, you can just try your best to eat healthy all three meals if you are concerned you will go off the rails. Just because you are on vacation doesn't mean you HAVE to eat off-plan.
@roz0810 I'm near my highest weight and I know that feeling of hitting it, I did that last year. Remember this for when you want to give up. Consistency is the key.
Hi all. I had a good day yesterday: in the morning, my husband and I took our dog for a longer walk and we got fruit salads for breakfast/lunch afterward. It felt good to go for a walk. It was a beautiful day and I was present mentally. In the afternoon, I donated blood. I made a healthy lentil soup for dinner, it made a ton. Today, my dog has eye removal surgery. I'll be worried about it all day.

Hello all. Well, there was a mixup at the vet's and they couldn't do the surgery. So it has to be rescheduled. This makes me frustrated because I made special arrangements with work to work from home Tues and Weds (people had to cover my reference desks shifts) and took time off part of the day yesterday. I'm going to go in today and tomorrow so people don't have to do my shifts since I can. I'm planning on working out this morning.

Morning all. 3 days and I'm the only one that's been in here? That's just plain weird lol. Today is weigh-in day for me, I lost 1.2 lbs. I'm so happy I lost something. I was negative in weeklies again this week so I am a bit surprised I lost. I did a 30-minute walking video yesterday morning. It felt good. Still struggling with water. I did drink a 25-oz bottle on the way to work.

@trooworld Congrats on your weight loss!! It is quiet here and I surely haven't done my part at all lately in keeping the conversations going.
Good morning! Today is my birthday! Funny story is that I had been thinking that I was turning 57 and my mom told me a couple of days ago that I was turning 56. I was like, "Are you sure?" And she said, "I'm your mom and you almost killed me, so yeah, I'm sure." She is taking me to Jason's Deli for lunch and hubby bought me a chocolate cake. So, no dieting today for me! I will do my workout and I really do need to get back on the weight-loss wagon. I've been maintaining for two months and while that is good, it's certainly not where I want to be. It's a gorgeous spring day here! I hope you all have a great day.0 -
@TeresaW1020 Thank you! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I get my age mixed up, too lol. I always have to do the math. I hope you enjoy the day.

I hope not either! Just was busy. I’ve very tempted to give up my weekend job but I’m going to see if I can do just one weekend day instead of the entire weekend. Need one day off a week for being with the furkids and I would like to make it to church once a week in person. Virtual is nice but nothing like being there.0 -

Yup same here recently was at my higher than previous highest weight. Frustrating but gotta keep going and trying not to repeat past not so healthy habits. (Aka ice cream for me should not be in house)0 -

Welcome to the group! That app sounds cool. I did double tracking for a while but eventually gave up WW. I do miss their meetings but between cost and time it had to go. And so true it’s like me with ice cream can’t just have a spoonful have to have a bowlful.0 -
@gemwolf110 Hi! Glad to see you, yes it's been a while. I think everyone but me has probably been busy lol. I hope you can work out getting one day off on the weekend, that would be nice. Thanks about my pup.
@roz0810 I'm glad you posted! Yes, it's been quiet. I'm glad you are doing well. Congrats on the loss!
Hi all. I'm excited today because I'm off work at noon. I took it as vacation time. I'm going to work on my art. I'm trying to build up enough art to take part in this art fair that is coming up in the fall. I may or may not apply.

Well I know I've posted since Feb 25 but I don't see it anywhere. I remember that pic that @trooworld posted. Maybe I wrote it but forgot to hit send and didn't realize it. But I've had a super busy social week and I'm not doing any of my routines. I think I'm getting spring fever.
@roz0810 So how are you doing with your intermittent fasting plan? Which kind are you doing? I know its frustrating to know that you were doing so well and then BAM! old habits rear their ugly heads. My good year was mid 2019-beginning of corona. I've been floundering since then. I want my everyday mojo back.
@trooworld Thanks for the soup recipe. That's alot of peanut butter. What is the nutrition info on this? I was just looking maybe to substitute tahini but then saw that they are similar but PB would have more protein. Your burritos sound good. How about instead of a tortilla put the ingredients on a bed of greens. Did you get back in the exercise groove yet? I've had a bad week myself with that. I've only done 2 days worth. Yaaay on fruit salads and a walk the other day. woohoo on your weight loss.
@teresaw1020 What's your plan for March to get the scale to move in the right direction? I gained 1 lb in February. My daughter is coming to visit for a couple of weeks. Company always throws my routine off. But I can't get too distracted. I'm distracted enough for the both of us already. I wish I had a magic wand to just give me superfocus. HAPPY BIRTHDAY
@AliceK813 Welcome to the group. Congrats on 60 lb loss. That's an exciting achievement.
@dnarcisso Welcome to the group. Thanks for the info on the app. I'll check it out. I definitely need it right now. I agree with you on behavior modification. Since you've already gone on your vacation, I can't offer much help. So how did you do? Tell us when You get back.
So for all you WW people who are still doing the current program, I follow this one lady on Instagram called Lauren.Mae In one of her posts she is wearing a peach top and she talked about the current program and free foods. How she changed a bit of things regarding the free foods and now she is losing again. For some reason it made me think of algorithms. lol Since I'm not doing the plan I don't know exactly what she is talking about to help you all but wanted to pass on the info because in the comments others tried it and they started losing again too.
Now if I could just find a post to help me start losing again.
