    Thank you @colettebeers8501

    I did ok jan 16-18
Then mot as good Jan 19-21.

Regrouped as my BMI hit 25.0. Nope. Not ok.

    Realized
    1. I HAD to track everything I eat
    2. I did great at that except after dinner
    3. So I went back to B, L, D, and an Evening Snack (for some meds)
And then I came up with
    4. Measure out Evening Snack & log it at same time I prepare & track breakfast,

    This has worked So Well!!!

I’ve been on track completely Jan 22-24.

Scale has been moving down :)

I plan to continue using this method until my BMI is in the 23’s again

Good luck & congrats on the maintenance!

I’m 162.2 as of Jan 25, after getting as high as 164 on Jan 20. That woke me up!!!!

    1st goal: track every gram
2nd: get weight back under 160

Still holding. I can’t cut calories more than I am. I’m looking forward to the weather warming up so I can get out and move a little more. Early mornings are when I have time but it’s 30° then so…🥶 Not happening! Still doing at least 20 minutes of yoga a day. I could get a gym membership but I hate working out in a mask more than I dislike being fat. Lol
All I’m all, I think I’m pretty healthy. My diet is good, plenty of fruits and veggies, good quality meats, no fast food, rare restaurant meals, very little sugar, no alcohol. I get plenty of sleep, do yoga, drink lots of water. The only things I’m doing differently than last time I dropped the weight is I’m not walking and I’m eating carbs. I may have to drop the carbs while I’m unable to hike. Anyway, the scale hasn’t budged but I’m in good spirits anyway. Come on warm weather!!

    1st goal: track every gram
2nd: get weight back under 160

    End of month update:
Scale finally dropped after my careful eating Jan 22-now.
Scale this morning: 24.6 BMI very happy (and relieved) 160.8
It got as high as 25.1 earlier this month.

I also eat healthily, but I’m tightening up even more! More veg/fruit, less sat fat.

I am planning to get back to 155, and then go for 150. Might take all year- that’s okay. Will make exercise easier & (hopefully) eliminate some of the “around the middle”. Last time I didn’t like the wrinkles on my body (face fine), but this time: “I’d rather have the wrinkles than the fat!” LOL

When you can exercise again, it will go smoothly for you! Holding is GREAT!

A friend in another group got a treadmill for those days you can’t really go outside. I know many people get them at the New Year & decide they don’t want them …I’m close to doing this despite good weather because I could adjust the workout better than my walks outside - especially as I’m getting more fit.

The thing holding me back is space, but it might be time I make the room 😂🤣

    Good luck to you @colettebeers8501

We are never giving up, OK?

Jan 22-Feb 3 ON TRACK (finally!)
My High BMI Jan 14 touched 25.1

    Feb 4. BMI= 24.5
Down 4lbs (but at least 1 of those was temporary uptick that jolted me into doing what I knew I needed to do.)

1/2 lb to go to reach top of my original Maintaining Range

Note to Future Self: it took awhile to get the scale to really move downwards. Next time (which hopefully will Never happen ) remember to be patient.

Having more fruits & vegetable in our home helped. So did reducing my saturated fat A LOT!

    @colettebeers8501
    How’s it going?
I finally got scared enough, I took action.

PLUS: one of my goals is to always be in normal BMI at doctors office. The PA weighed me with my boots on & my
Doctor wrote in his report “weight increased since last time I saw Maddie from 155-167. Will monitor. First of all: NO!
Second: You are comparing weight in hospital gown in morning to filling clothes 4pm.

    Then…
I realized the numbers were slightly off, but I was in denial. Realized my weight DID go up over past few years.

So I decided my new Maintenance Range will be lower so even if it’s late in the day and I’m Fully dressed, I’ll have a normal
BMI. Plus I can see I should probably weigh closer to 150.

This is frustrating but I’m not giving up. I realize that hormones are shifting and I have to adjust with them. I’m 52 and what worked last year might not work this year. I’m amazed at how stubborn this weight is right now. I don’t think less food is the answer but cutting some starches and fats may be. I recently read something about insulin resistance blocking fat burning. Going to get some bloodwork done and see if I have to manage something new 🤪

@MadisonMolly2017 thanks for checking in. Nope, we’re never giving up. My BMI today is 26.9. My goal of 150 puts me about in the right spot. I hear you on the wrinkles but I’ll just keep drinking my collagen and hope for the best. Ha ha. I also hear you on being patient. Not my strong suit. When the weight doesn’t drop fast enough, I’m pretty quick to get a case of the eff its and hit Del Taco. I’m kind of happy to discover that cheap candy gives my heartburn so that’ll be easier to avoid now 😏 Anyway, hope you have a great week. Glad to have you as a partner in this crazy journey 🌺

WOOHOO!! 159 🙌🏼🎉🙌🏼 I’m doing a happy dance for you (does that count as exercise? 😆). Gorgeous view! I can’t wait to get out there again! We need to figure out a way to celebrate when we hit 150! Seriously, great job 👏🏼 😁

    Yes re: Celebration!!
Thank you so much. The scale was creeping up: 164.4 & something clicked in me. Stopped the chocolate “cold turkey” hahaha

Been eating clean 19 days, 11,000+ steps

I now have a pattern to my day’s food.

So it took me 5 months of not fixing it & worrying & one look at the scale & I realized I have to turn this around NOW! If I’d know I’d be in 150’s in fewer than 3 weeks, I woulda started sooner ❣️❣️

Thinking about a celebration & smiling!

    Have a good week!

I’d forgotten the most difficult part of dieting is beginning, but I pushed through that & then it becomes kinda fun being successful which provides more motivation.

Also how little time it took to lose a 2-3 temporary pounds & another 4-5.
If I’d known it could come off this fast I would have donr it months ago!

    Hi @colettebeers8501 💕
Thinking of you! Hopefully Spring will be there for you soon!

My weight loss has slowed, but my head seems to be in the right place. Being busy with two projects has kept my mind off munching 😂

    Update: Once I’m Solidly under 158, I’m
going to reset my official Weight Range to 153-158. Currently pinging around in the 158’s.

    Current Trend weight: 158.1

Half a pound is better than nothing 🤷🏻‍♀️ I guess I have to give up the fantasy that I can eat carbs and lose weight when all I’m doing for exercise is yoga. I’m definitely stronger than I’ve ever been and pretty dang bendy but my belly is not going anywhere unless I get my heart rate up and stop eating French fries. I’m going on a trip this weekend so I probably won’t be “dieting” while I’m away but when I get back, it’s on. For real this time ha ha! The weather is getting a little nicer and it’s totally reasonable for me to walk to work some days. The governor has lifted the mask mandate now so maybe I can squeeze in a little gym time, too. Obviously, my moderate way of doing this isn’t working.

@MadisonMolly2017 WOW! Your are kicking booty! 🎉 🎊 Great job! I’m right behind ya 😉
I hear you on “don’t worry.” Stress might be worse than sugar. Both make your hormones go haywire and cause all kinds of weird physiological changes that make dropping weight virtually impossible, but I feel like sugar is easier to avoid. Sure you crave it but it’s way easier to say no to the M&Ms than to not worry about stuff. I mean, have you seen the state of the world? 🤪 Forget I said that 🤣 Anyway, so happy you’re doing well and crushing your goals! Take good care XO
PS. I’m super curious about your art projects 🤓

    Hi @colettebeers8501
    I know it’s not what you wanted…

    However…

    1. You have maintained your weight since Jan 1 & I think had a great vacation in there, too. That’s a major win.

    2. You are still posting & you haven't given up. That’s a major win.

    3. You will figure out a small habit you can change.. and then another …soon the weather will be grand & you’ll be on your way again 🎉❤️

You’ve got this. You know it, and I know it.
This is just a short bump in the road.

    Really.

    Ok my update…
I just calculated my average weight over the past 41.5 months.

    157

    That’s 71.3 lbs down

    I weighed 159 today. BMI 24.2 or .3 can’t remember

The foods I am eating are much healthier than they ever have been.

My steps are down a little due to less energy. My sleep is worse. Possibly due to a new medicine. Daylight Savings Time is already improving the walking as it’s light later.

    So.
I am easing up on the idea of getting to 150. It’s still not easy enough to keep my weight from creeping up over 160. I’ll shoot for a solid 158 first.

    Things that will help:
    1. Prelog my day’s food - I’ve not really Eve done that, but I can easily do my breakfast & lunch & snack. I’ll start there.
    2. Eat <2,000 and see if I lose.
    3. Measure out the day’s nuts in AM.
    4. Get my steps back up to 10K
    5. Consider a shorter AM walk in addition to late afternoon…
    6. Re-instigate my better sleep habits: no electronics 2 hr before bedtime; book 1 hr before in bed.
    7. Consider going back to guided visualizations

    I’m going to do 1 & 2 for the next 3 days.

We’ve actually “got this”! It”s just time for some new habits or modifications to our habits.

    Hugs

    Hi @colettebeers8501
How are you? I miss you.

My trend weight indicates I’m Losing 0.2Lb per week or 1.9 pounds in 77 days (since Jan 1)

I’m back in my GW range by 1.4 lbs as of today.

    My food is all healthy.

I sometimes feel I should eat a little less & lose more weight, but I know I need to maintain here (and get it to “easy”) before I lose more.

I plan to get to 158.3 which is 70lb downs for me. I lije when I log in to MFP & my loss is in the 70’s.

I’m Pursuing a lot of art & nature activities outdoors & began a large online group that gives me the sense of purpose & community I’ve been missing.

I’d love to hear from you here or in messages.

    Take Care

Still going the wrong way but I haven’t walked in weeks. The end goal is to love myself no matter what but I feel frustrated because I can do better. I’m adjusting my diet this week. I had cheese and wine for dinner last night. In my head, I’m still rebelling over having to watch what I eat. I think it’s time to put my big girl pants on and act like a grownup. Maybe I should call them my skinny girl pants ha ha.

@MadisonMolly2017 Hi Maddie! Thanks for the kind words! I have been feeling pretty frustrated about the number on the scale going up. So much so that I gave up a little and stopped using this app at all. Like a little baby tantrum ha ha.
I’m back now! I know that if I make a couple of small adjustments, the weight will fall off again. When my schedule fills up, sometimes I just don’t have the bandwidth to think about food and exercise. It’s that one. more. thing! 🤯
I’m still going to 3-4 yoga classes a week and I eat a mostly really healthy diet (except when I have cheese for dinner 😆). My menopause belly is just more stubborn these days. I simply need to move more and lower my carbs (I think). The weather is warming up so I’ll be less resistant to walking outdoors and now that the mask mandates are lifted, I can get back into a gym. I think this summer will be a good one. I have a couple of trips planned but I’m going to have to learn how to not gain 10lbs every time I go somewhere. I’m learning more about my wonderful body every year. Mostly, I’m learning to be be happy and content no matter what. A number on a scale is a number on a scale and has no bearing on my value as a person. That being said, part of loving our bodies is keeping them as healthy as we can. I’m not taking care of it as well as I could or I wouldn’t be carrying around this belly fat. Anyway…YOU! You’re killing it! I’m so impressed by how dedicated and knowledgeable you are. Losing 70 lbs is no small feat and you’ve lost it and kept it off. It must feel amazing. I know I felt great when I lost just 20. I think that’s why am so mad at myself for gaining it back. You’re doing so great! I’m so grateful to have you on my team 😁 Hope everything else is going well and that you’re feeling great!
    Have a great week 😁
