Welcome to all the new members.
@Scott6255 we would have had to hunt you down if you tried to leave us.

I have a lot of hopes and fears for April on all life fronts including running. Let's think positive - better weather, better attitude, some travel so maybe some running in new places. My goal again is just to do better than last month, so >80 miles. And get my long run worked up a bit more. Last week I did 6 and today I did 7, so on track with that so far.7 -
@Scott6255 You had me going and I too was really sad. I'm glad you were just being a prankster.
No run for me yesterday or today. I hate to start the month with zero miles, but I usually run Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday so I am getting back to my regular schedule after last month's streak. I usually walk on my rest days, but yesterday I didn't even do that. I may try to get a walk in today though. It is really nice out.
Welcome to the newcomers and welcome back to those returning!7 -
Sorry for the April Fool's prank, but I just couldn't help myself 😉
Welcome to the new members!
Went out and got 14 miles this morning. Was perfect weather, but for some reason I really wasn't feeling it. Had to take a few walk breaks, but still managed a somewhat decent pace for a long run.
And I think I am talking myself in to signing up for the Dallas Marathon in December. My brother and two other Georgia family members are going to come run it with me. So that will be something to work towards this year. One mile at a time.

2.4: 3km in 25 min
didn't go too well. I quickly had to switch to a 2/2 breathing pattern, which is normally reserved for faster runs. Guess my lungs and muscles are currently not happy. But I managed to run 25 minutes. Next goal: 30 minutes.8 -
Ok, I have given it a lot of thought, and since I am the only male on this thread now, I think it is time for me to bid you all goodbye. Now you will be able to talk freely and without concern of hurting fragile male egos
It's been a pleasure! Good luck with your running.
Ha!!!!!!!!! Just kidding! I couldn't make it a day without checking in with you awesome, wonderful, strong, funny, beautiful gals!
Love you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Scott6255 - OMG I was ready to cry or shout at you!! So happy you aren't really leaving us!
Me too!!! Good one @Scott6255!1 -
NIce running @SummerSkier .
@katharmonic I hope your April shows that you had nothing to fear. I hope you get to do the traveling you want. In my book, 7 miles is a long run. You're doing great.
@kgirlhart Did you enjoy your rest day?
Go for it @Scott6255. Sounds like it would be so much fun with family running along with you.
Pretty street @Aine8046 ! Nice run too.
@yirara One foot in front of the other and repeat. You are doing great.

4-1 = 1.00 mile walk - treadmill - doubles tennis in the morning
4-2 = 1.00 mile walk - driveway
2.00/70 miles
Yesterday was a long day. I worked at daycare from 6:30 - 9:45, changed clothes and left to play doubles tennis for a couple of hours, then back to daycare from 12:15 - 3:35, home, walked on the treadmill, and then mom and I went to a gospel concert with my Aunt at our local performing arts center. I didn't get home until almost 11:00 pm.
This is my mom, her sister, and me at intermission.
I slept okay, after getting to bed at 1:45, but haven't felt the best and had some minor tummy issues today. So, instead of my planned run, I napped and walked a mile on the driveway afterwards.
I forgot to post pictures of the wildflowers that I found earlier in the week. Here are a couple, if you are interested.
Some of the bluebells were white. I understand it is a fairly rare genetic mutation.
Close up of the blue bluebell.

Welcome all the newbies and returnees! We are a chatty bunch of crazy runners but join right in, tell us about your runs o races, ask questions, jump into the conversation.
@Scott6255 - Dallas marathon with your brother and family sounds awesome!
@katharmonic - I hope your April schedule works out and you can get back to your long runs!
@yirara - you'll get there! Maybe try a little slower pace so your lungs and muscles don't hate you!
@quilteryoyo - I hope it is nothing that a little rest won't sort out! Feel better!
I got out today and yesterday even though I didn't feel great. I don't want to spend a lot of energy thinking about my arm and the new medicines seem to be helping with the autoimmune ache-ness but it all seemed to want to stop me today. So I was determined to run as many bits as I could but walked as much as I needed to when my body complained. At times it felt great and I just wanted to keep going. Today and the next few days it will be cool - low to mid 60s (F) so I want to get in what I can. Later in the week it is expected to be in the mid 90s (F) again....

Is anyone else having problems posting from your phone? I haven't been able to post from it in a couple of weeks, getting an error message. I had a whole post-race report typed up and couldn't use it! The problem with posting from my computer is that all of my pictures end up sideways, and I'm not sure how to correct it. Excuse my sideways photo below.
I started April with a 10.5K race yesterday morning. The race was mostly through a nice golf community about half an hour south of me. There were lots of nice houses with pretty flowers. I ended up placing 3rd in my age group and was middle of the pack overall. The weather was in the 40s, but I ended up getting pretty warm near the end as there were no clouds to block the sun. I stayed in the 9-minute pace range for the first 4 miles, but the end had hills, so I slowed and ended with an average pace of 10:02. I have been right around that for my last 4 races. I guess I can say I'm consistent.
Several ladies from my SRTT run group were there as well. It has been nice making a few new local running friends.
Welcome to everyone who is new!
I am not going to set a mileage goal this month since I am trying out this new training plan by heart rate zone. I expect it will be 50+, but who knows.
April mileage: 6.6810 -
WTG @marisap2010 on your 3rd place AG!1

Signing in for Sunday here.
Goal 125
April 1 - 7.01 miles
April 2 - 4.21 cum 11.22
April 3 - 10.01 cum 21.23
Longest run in a while. I have been focused on speed for months so decided today just to do a "wander" run. It was fun but not sure I was ready for a 10 miler again. LOL. I will know better in a few days I guess. At least there were no blisters or blood. My favorite runners are no longer available of course so I have taken a chance on buying them from kicksonfire and hope they are in good shape and not knock offs.
MFP is just so strange. They fix one thing and break another. My Iphone app refuses to show any photos in the newsfeed but my samsung phone (work) shows them fine. I put in a request yesterday to the MFP help folks as I did not see this listed under the known bugs anywhere even tho it's been going on for over a week or more.8 -
5 miles plus a bit on the Greenline, not much to say, perfect weather and uneventful run. Leg injury seems fine today.9
-
My long run today called for 7 miles - 1 mile in Z1, 5.5 miles in Z2, and .5 miles in Z1. It was a slow run, but I felt good at the end...until I realized how sunburned my shoulders are! They didn't look red or feel burned for several hours, and my husband didn't notice until he left the house and came back. I have slathered on a ton of aloe, and I'll make sure to put on sunscreen next time!
April miles: 13.687 -
April Goal: 100 Miles
4/3: 10.02 miles
10.02/100 miles completed for April
I finally got out for a run in April! I took Friday as a total rest day. Well, I did do some yoga, but no running or walking. Yesterday, I took the dogs to the park and we walked a mile. Then today I ran 10 miles. It was a great run. The weather was really nice. It was a little warm towards the end, but not too bad. It was a beautiful spring morning . The dogwood and redbud trees are all bloomed out. Irises are blooming everywhere. I didn't see any bluebonnets yet. But I did see that the mesquite trees are starting to bud, so spring is definitely here. I stopped by to see Sunny the Donkey. I went close to the fence to take a picture. He seemed pretty interested in me so I tried to take a Selfie, but he wasn't very enthusiastic about that.
I really enjoyed being out running on a beautiful spring day.
@marisap2010 Congrats on a great race and placing 3rd in your AG!

Congrats on your race @marisap2010! Excellent consistent pace and way to go on the AG place. And well done on the long run today - good reminder about sunscreen.
@kgirlhart glad you had such a lovely run. good to see Sunny the donkey. I'm sure he enjoyed the selfie.
Sounds like you will have a fun experience with the Dallas Marathon @Scott6255 (as fun as a marathon can be ) and that will be a great motivating goal to have at the end of the year.
Great running everyone and love all the pictures of spring flowers.
I did not run today because it was cold with a mix of rain and snow, and I chose to sleep in and go to brunch with my boyfriend. I have said it before, but I'm officially declaring this our last snow of the season. I mean it (foot stamp).7 -
Great race @marisap2010 ! Congratulations on 3rd place in your AG! You're pace is awesome. Great long run too.
Great running @SummerSkier !
@rheddmobile An uneventful run is what you need right now! Yeah for the leg and AFib behaving.
Glad you had such a nice run @kgirlhart ! It's so nice to see Sunny...love the selfie with him. Lovely iris too. As a tidbit of trivia, they are the TN state flower.
@katharmonic I hope you are right this time.
I have an appointment with a neurologist this morning. I'll report back later today to let you know what she says.5 -
Goal 125
April 1 - 7.01 miles
April 2 - 4.21 cum 11.22
April 3 - 10.01 cum 21.23
April 4 - 4.03 cum 25.26
Good luck at the neuro today @quilteryoyo hope all is good news!
Not much to report except I was quite pleased that I was able to return for 4 miles after really extending myself yesterday with 10. My first one this year and I did a 9 miler in March so feel like I am on target for that sort of distance.
Really enjoying reading of everyone's adventures so far. Spring has got to be one of the best running seasons.7
