@trooworld Nice app. I like the visuals of it. Yaay on staying within your window. Here are the scones. The first one was a bit too brown on the top for me. I still ate it. lol The second pic was at afternoon tea in Bath. Scones are on the bottom plate. It was so nice. They had a violinist, celloist, and pianist playing while we ate.

@cbabie I can tell you what to do but you wouldn't listen. :p Today would have been Grandpa's 107th birthday. So what one thing can you do right today. Remember that book One Thing? (I think that was the name, lol)

I worked a bit on my Trello board yesterday and have about 6 meals entered. Plus I wrote down the action steps that I will need to do in order to make this work.

@cbabie I hope your headache goes away soon. It's hard to function with a headache. Yeah, March just kind of went by quickly. I've not seen Home, but I want to. I don't think I want to watch it 3 times a day lol. I am rebranding myself lol.

@theslightedgeforever Wow, those look fabulous! Now I want one. :) Afternoon tea sounds fun. How was the tea? Was it stronger than tea is here? I always imagine it must be stronger and more flavorful than here because tea is pretty boring here lol. I am a coffee person but I occasionally drink tea. I had some yesterday, it was a tropical fruit-flavored tea. The app, yeah I like the visuals of it too. I think it will work out pretty well. That's great that you worked on your Trello board, it sounds like that is going to be pretty complicated to set up?

Hi all. I made it until about 12 minutes before my fasting period ended and then the hunger was just too much. I hope I can get used to the hunger. I read it is supposed to last about a month. I tried going for a walk but I took my dog and she's a slow walker. I tried lemon water and then tea and neither helped much. Tonight, my husband and I are going to an Italian restaurant for dinner. I'm looking forward to it. Italian is my favorite type of food I think.

Water yesterday: 75 oz

@theslightedgeforever I love that you are working on the steps of project management in your health journey! Yesterday, I told a woman new to IF and wanting to know how to get started that she had to work it like it’s a job and not a hobby. Ohh that Bento box idea is great! Do you plan to meal prep them or just make one fresh when you want to? We will have a board meeting at the end of the month for a full assessment of your project and goals. ;) Those pictures are full-on food porn love!! <3:D

@trooworld I looked on Prime for journal stickers and there are so many to choose from! Along with my planner, DH gave me a pack of colored mechanical pencils so I’m coloring coding everything. I’m not tracking calories/macros, but I am writing down everything I eat. That book sounds awesome! I am a huge believer that we first have to get our mindset right or our weight will never go and stay in the right direction. Good for you for making a plan to get out and walk or hike! One of the things my Beachbody group is focusing on is getting outside and moving more. I need to work on that for sure! B) As for adjusting to the hunger, you will adjust if you just keep pushing through. Drinking water and going for a walk is a great way of getting that hungry feeling to subside. Are you clean fasting? I mean nothing but water, black coffee, or plain tea while fasting. If you have anything with sweeteners, calories, or even sweet/fruity flavors it will be much harder to fast. I’ve done it both ways and the clean fast truly is where the magic happens. ;)

@cbabie I hope your headache is better today. How old is Baby Girl now? Watching littles is the best! :)

Good morning! It is a beautiful day, and my scale was down again this morning, and my BMI went back to overweight and not obese so that made me very happy! :) I fasted 19.5 hours yesterday because I was at the church cleaning and just kept pushing myself until I was done before I ate. Today, DH goes for his third chemo treatment, and I will clean the sanctuary while he is at the cancer center. He woke up feeling better than he has in weeks and I’m praying that he doesn’t suffer too badly this round. His shoulder and leg are much better and this morning he was able to get dressed without any assistance. I’m excited to see what this month brings us all!

@trooworld Trello board: I've made it easy. Just 4 lists Red Lunch, Red Dinner, Yellow Lunch and Yellow Dinner. Then a shopping list and a meal plan list for the week. 6 lists Total. The cards just have the name of the recipe and then I put the link in the description so I can just click on it when I'm ready. I add the ingredients I need at the store to the shopping list as I make the cards. I used the "covers" red and yellow so the cards are easily identified. I'll use Week # labels so I can only show the cards I want so I can rotate the recipes I like each month. I really only set this up once and then tweak a bit here and there with new recipes. Look at how long you fasted versus you gave up too soon. You did great. Focus on the gain not the gap.

@teresaw1020 I think I'm going to do both. Meal prep so I have some pre-made things like plain chicken breasts, teriyaki chicken, black beans, etc. in the freezer. But then I will just do the bento boxes daily. If I lived by myself this would be easier but I'll just keep tweaking til I get it right for me. Board meeting: That's a scary thought but yet if I was a true project manager, I would have to report my results, right? Woohoo for the overweight category.

Okay, back to adding more recipes to my trello board.

Good Morning!!! Hope everyone is doing well and survived April Fools day. Thankfully almost everyone was too busy to get into jokes at work yesterday. Can’t believe it’s April already time is just flying by. I somehow have the next 3 weekends off including this one so I’m very happy and thankful about that. Can have some much needed time to relax and spend with the furkids. Going to see about taking the dogs for a walk later, weather is supposed to be nice. They have been very good, relaxed doggies this whole week. Think having last Sunday off to just let them run and have freedom after church services helped. I also will take some time to work on my personal statement for my application into grad school. Going to be too late for 2022-2023 year but one school that I have my eye on will let me take 2 courses prior to starting. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

@theslightedgeforever Haha I often say if I lived by myself eating would be sooo much easier! I love my people and don’t want to lose them but I’m telling you that I will NEVER be the boss of another person’s menu again.

@gemwolf110 sounds like all is well with you! I’m sure your furkids love going for walks on a nice spring day. That is good that the school you want will let you take some courses early. Have a good weekend too! :)

Good morning! Yesterday DH had his third chemo and because his sodium was too low again we had to go to the hospital for an evaluation. Five hours later we come home with instructions to up his sodium tablets and limit his fluids even more than we have been. It feels like it’s always been something lately. Work is stressing me out too because of an invite card issue with the man I use to print our stuff. But no worries, I got it handled because there was NO way I was telling pastor that he wasn’t getting his cards tomorrow for church! For the last two days I’ve fasted for 19.5 hrs. but the eating wasn’t the best yesterday, so today I’ve got to reign it in. I want a good weigh-in on Monday. :)

@TeresaW1020 Yes, have fun choosing! :D I love the idea of having a colorful journal. Writing down everything you eat is good. That's basically tracking! Yeah that book was so good, I had originally borrowed it from the library but I bought a copy for my Kindle since I liked it so much. You are right, if we don't fix the problem, we will keep having it! Yeah, I need to get outside more, too. Yes, I am clean fasting. The only thing I do put in my sparkling water is a slice of lemon. That's okay, right? Is that still considered a clean fast? Oh I hope Joe does okay with the 3rd treatment. That's great that the scale is down. Have a good day.

@theslightedgeforever Oh that's not too complex. I should use Trello more. I use it for work but not really personal. That's true, I made it 95% of the time I wanted to. :)

@gemwolf110 Luckily I worked from home so no jokes on me lol. That's great you have so many weekends off. Good luck with your application!

Hi all. My husband and I went to an Italian restaurant last night for dinner. I think I made an okay choice considering the menu, we split an appetizer of burrata, arugula, prosciutto, and tomatoes with some balsamic glaze and for my entree, I had lobster ravioli in a tomato diablo sauce, no cream. It was delicious.

Morning all, yesterday was an emotional rollacoaster ride....did end up at the park for about 20 min, baby girl found a "friend" ..LOL. however did not eat until 8pm and so it was almost a day of fasting, not that I had that in mind...just when drama causes stress, you don't eat. LOL. I was nausea this morning, but made my self eat some oatmeal. Baby girl went to sleep at 6:30 pm so when we had to get up early, like 5:30 when we got back from our "errand"...she wanted to WALK...I am like girl I have not even had my coffee yet..but she was too happy about walking for me to say no. LOL

@trooworld I love that you are fasting and succeeding. Yes sister is right...focus on the what you did, not the other...I have heard that twice today..focus on what God is doing, not on what you don't think he is doing... :)

@TeresaW1020 I want to know who created the game of life...you know these days, the board game would have some other "life" issues don't you think? I hope DH does way better and has a quick turnaround from the treatment. No one likes to be sick. I am not sure who it's harder on, watching someone you love be sick (mental, emotional, physical) or the person who is sick. So I am glad you have your sticker book to keep your mind focused on good things. :)

@gemwolf110 Sounds like you have a great "time off" planned with your furbabies. It's nice to relax...last night I took a hot shower and I tell you it felt soooooo relaxing and good. LOL

@theslightedgeforever You are right, why would I listen? I mean you are the younger one. LOL. I do try to listen, and I am so proud of how you use your skills. Funny I was a project mananger/CS person..just can't manage my own life too well. :). Maybe I should look at it as a job as @Teresaw1020 said LOL
I bought a meal plan for crock pots and lean cooking, haven't really opened them.. I have good intentions, but no follow through. Remember our brother? That's the plan...LOL as he sat in the chair doing nothing..

@cbabie Oh gosh, sorry about the drama. I would have definitely had to have my coffee. I can't do anything without it lol. Thanks, I'm trying!

Hi all. I had to eat early yesterday as I was going at 11 to get my hair done. I ate at 10:30, about an hour early but that's not too bad. I'm going to go for a walk with my husband near the beach this morning. Afterward, we are going to go to this bakery and have a pastry and coffee. I think I will have a ham and cheese croissant. This takes the place of the hike we were supposed to do today. Other than that, it's easy street today.

@gemwolf110 I agree. I can't believe it's April. Sounds like you have a good plan for your future mapped out. Have you been working on your healthy habits?

@teresaw1020 Do you have your meals planned out for your eating times or do you just grab and go? I've got my meals planned out now I need to make sure they are cooked and ready to eat. ;)

@trooworld Your food sounded delicious. So what meal plan are you doing right now? WW? Oh just went back and read. Clean Fasting. What are you expectations from this each month? Did you ever get back to your Tonal?

@cbabie This is where you and I are different. When drama causes stress, I always eat. I'm glad you got in a walk. So go open up the crockpot book and tell me about the first recipe. The problem with books like that is that it gets overwhelming. so choose ONE THING. You may not even like the first recipe but look at it anyway as if we want different we have to do different. So we break down that recipe into small steps and just focus on the next step.

1. Open up book and look at first recipe.
2. Read through it.
3. Write down ingredients you don't have on hand
4. Decide what day and time you will have this. Is it lunch? Dinner?
5. Write that on your calendar.
6. Go grocery shopping
7. Put ingredients into crockpot and turn it on;
8. Enjoy!

@trooworld Some would say that putting lemon in water isn’t clean fasting but I’m on the fence about it. The only reason to not do it is if you feel that it’s keeping you from fasting longer than you want to. And if it is then try cutting it out for a few days. I really do recommend Gin Stephens's book Fast, Feast, Repeat. If you want an easy to understanding, yet very comprehensive book on fasting hers is one of the best. I’m also really loving her new community. It’s not too big and has such great people and support. It cost but I think it’s worth it. Let me know if you want the link. ;) That Italian meal sounds divine!! :)

@cbabie Sorry that you had drama and glad you have Baby Girl to spend your days with. She sounds precocious yet delightful. Yeah, I can’t imagine what the game of Life would look like if it was made in this crazy time we are living in.

Hello! Today has been good. We went to church this morning and then I worked at the computer and made a menu and grocery list for next week. Tomorrow I will do the grocery shopping and clean my messy house. DH is feeling good today and I’m thankful for that! Tomorrow I’m going do 21 Day Fix, which I’ve done before, but I love that program and the coach Autumn. Fasting is going great and I’m averaging around 19 hours give or take. I would like to increase some this week so I can get into this cute Easter top that is living in my closet.

Hello. I am thinking of joining WW. They have a deal right now. Are counting points easier than counting calories? How is the WW site to use? Is it worth the expense. I tried calorie counting and lost some but I don’t want to be tracking all of the time. I did keto, which was great for my diabetes but I find it restrictive. I went off keto and am gaining weight back. I get really hungry in the evening. I feel like there is a pit in my stomach that I can’t fill. I am lactose intolerant so that limits some food choices.

Also are there any promo codes ?

@theslightedgeforever I'm following WW with the clean fasting. I don't have any expectations from it. I am hoping to lose weight. I don't want to state a number of pounds because that will flip something in my head and screw me up. No, I haven't gotten back to the Tonal yet.

@TeresaW1020 I actually think it helps me. I will put that book on hold at the library, thanks! I'll hold off on the paid community for now, thanks. The Italian meal was really good. Yay for making a meal plan! I'm glad Joe is feeling okay.

@lorib642 Hi Lori, I'm currently on WW and that's where I track. Counting points is about as easy as counting calories, they both require effort. The WW app is great to use, the site is pretty easy to use too. The app has a lot of cool features to support your journey. e.g. "Walk and Talks" which are 20-minute talks that you listen to while walking. Tracking w/WW: you don't have to track your zero points foods, so that can be easier. I still track mine though even though I don't have to. They always have deals and I believe new ones start on Tuesdays, at least that is what a rep told me. Good luck!

@trooworld Then by all means put that lemon in your water. I actually would too. Good, I hope you do read the book and then we can discuss it! ;)

Hello! Not much going on except me with a ton of energy from fasting so I’m taking advantage of it and deep cleaning the whole house. The final number for weight loss this week was 2.4 lbs. I’m happy and hope for at least that much next week. Right now I’m super motivated and determined to get back to where I was and then on to my goal. That evil voice tried to tell me that I could get a little Easter candy at Walmart today and no one would be the wiser. I told that >:) to back the heck on up!! :)

@TeresaW1020 I actually realized I bought Gin's first book and read it a long time ago, the first time I tried intermittent fasting. :) Congrats on that loss, that's awesome! Stay strong!

I was running late yesterday so I forgot to say that the walk before the bakery was really nice. We walked for 2 miles. It was misting a bit so not the ideal weather but still, it was nice. The bakery was good. I bought 2 croissants: the ham and cheese and an almond one. The almond one was better. I skipped lunch.

Last night, I attended a webinar from my health care provider that went over their weight management programs. 2 of them were based on drinking shakes and eating frozen foods and were expensive (plus, I'm not interested in a program that doesn't eat real food). The other two are free programs, one involves a weekly webinar that you learn about nutrition and exercise (I've already gone through this with WW I feel), the other, you have a weekly check-in with a nurse and work on something. I don't think I will do any of the programs...I am meeting with the head of the program in September to talk about weight loss medications.

Morning all, I didn't realize it had been a couple of days that I had been on here. I have been super sick with a stupid head cold. I am just praying baby girl doesn't get it...I don't do well with sick people. I lost 2.4 lbs this week, it wasn't because I tired, but I will take it..LOL

@TeresaW1020 So happy for your loss and so excited to hear DH felt great and you had a "normal" day. We all just need something that will motivate us. Like one day of complete tracking, makes you want to track the next. :)

@trooworld So happy you get to walk by the water, how relaxing. Thank you for explaining WW to our newbie...See how you use your skills to help others? :)

@theslightedgeforever ok, okay, ok, I will get a recipe down and try to do that..Yea for you on your plan...great PM skills. :)

@loriB642 I think we all have done WW and its a good program. I was tired of paying the money and took to the skills I had learned..the only problem is you get great support from the meetings and chat..but that's why we are all here. LOL. Welcome glad you found us!

@teresaw1020 Some good things have come out of Covid time though I think. People have learned that they really hated their jobs and would have been stuck there forever and not had the courage to quit and find something they like. People got to spend more time with their families. Although that can be good or bad. ;) I think 21 Day Fix is a good sensible plan. Yaaay for saying NO to the Easter Candy. 2.4 lbs is great.

@lorib642 Welcome to the group! I think counting is counting. Whether it's points, calories, carbs, fat grams. I've done them all. Tracking is always the same. I think the difference comes in your environment and the kinds of foods you like to eat and the ones that will make you stay consistent the longest. Keeping that in mind, if you want different you have to do a bit different. WW has a lot of zero point foods that can keep you full and can be a go-to if you are hungry. If you like alot of meat and cheeses then counting carbs are the way to do it. I was on a moderate carb cycling plan and lost 23 lbs in 6 months. Went from pre-diabetic to normal glucose readings. Then covid struck. That messed with my mojo. If you are not a meat, egg, cheese eater then counting fats might be your plan. Some people like this plan and the CDC used it for their diabetes prevention program. I guess their aim was to reduce calories and fat has 9 calories per gram compared to carbs and protein which is 4. The bad thing with just counting calories is that it is too easy to eat non-nutritious food and still be on plan because you stayed within your boundaries. I have watched WW across the years change their point system to encourage people to choose more nutritious foods. I am currently transitioning to a program that will encourage me to eat more fruits and vegetables, lentils, beans, etc. Maybe more like the Mediterranean Diet. Choosing WW digital versus showing up in person: Some people need the embarrassment of gaining weight in front of someone to keep them on the straight and narrow. For other people it doesn't matter. You just have to figure out which kind of person are you? What do you need to keep going consistently? Maybe check out the 21 Day Fix like @teresaw1020 Instead of calories you count # of containers. I just use the containers to measure my portion sizes.

@trooworld Please be careful with the weight loss medications. After the Fen-Phen mess, it made me leery. (that doesn't look spelled right, lol) I think I would like that nurse visit and weekly check in with working on something. It can be discouraging when one time we can lose weight easily and then other times we are hitting our heads against the wall. Your pic looks so serene and calming.

@cbabie I think we cross posted. We always talk about how much you and Theresa are alike. Now you've lost the same amount this week. LOL I hope you feel better. Being sick is never fun. I don't think anyone in our family is great with sick people. (Cause we were all trained to suck it up. :p ) I'm sitting here trying to think of what you mean with PM skills. I've come up with Postmaster. Prime minister. Nighttime skills. >:)

I lost 0.6 lbs this week since I've returned. I'm still not back to where I want to be on my exercise. I've been fighting knee pain and overall fatigue.

My first goal is 10 lbs by June 30.

@trooworld If you read Gin’s first book, “Delay, Don’t Deny,” then I really recommend you read “Fast Feast Repeat.” It’s much more comprehensive than her first book. I just bought “Intermittent Fasting Transformation” by Cynthia Thurlow. It's written for women and she has a medical background and is very smart. She has a great podcast that I listen to all the time and is famous for her TED talk on IF. If you haven’t given it a listen, you should! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6Dkt7zyImk&ab_channel=TEDxTalks
I agree that doing expensive plans where you don’t eat real food wouldn’t be for me. As for nutrition and exercise class, I bet you could teach one with all the knowledge you have gained. :) Weight loss medications might work for you but whenever I’ve tried them, they would work for a short time, and then my body got used to it and I could eat on top of them. :/

@cbabie Sooo sorry that you have been sick. Head colds are so awful. I hope you feel better soon. <3

@theslightedgeforver Covid 2020 got me a shelf full of jigsaws! I am not doing the container plan for 21 Day Fix. I just like the way Autumn kicks my booty! :D She has a new eating plan that focuses on gut health that I would consider if I wanted to pay, which I don’t. Congrats on your loss. I hope your knee feels better. Is the fatigue from your recent travels?

Hello! Well, I got up this morning with it in my head that Maggie was supposed to go to the groomers. But NO! I quickly found out that it’s next week. *Insert major eye roll* And since it was just about to really storm, I brought her back and decided to work from home today. Tomorrow I will go into the office to finish what I couldn’t do here. I did day two of the 21 DF workout which was legs and now my booty is dying! It even hurts just sitting. :s I fasted for 19 hours and my plan is to have dinner, hit my fasting app timer, and then fast until dinner tomorrow. I will eat one small 500 calorie meal and then hit the timer again. I will fast Thursday until lunchtime and also eat dinner. This kind of up/down day has shown some really good results for people. I plan to stay super busy tomorrow, so I don’t think about food. *Fingers crossed! *

@cbabie I hope you are feeling better now. Congrats on the loss, take it indeed, that's a nice loss! Yeah I'm lucky I kind of live by the water. :D I help when I can, sometimes I'm not so helpful lol.

@theslightedgeforever I remember the Fen-Phen mess. I didn't take it but I heard about it. That was spelled right lol. Yes, it can be discouraging. The walk was nice. Congrats on the loss!

@TeresaW1020 I haven't read Fast Feast Repeat, I'll check it out. Thanks for the Ted Talk link, I'll give it a listen too. Yeah, eating frozen foods and shakes does not address my eating problem. Their webinars would but it would be stuff I already learned on WW. Interesting about the weight loss meds. Good luck with your fasting plan, you've got this!

@roz0810 Enjoy the mac and cheese!

Hi all. Well, I gained 0.4 lbs this week. :( Not really a surprise but I am still frustrated. Yesterday, my hubby and I got an annual pass to the zoo. We figured it would be good for exercise. There are a lot of hills in our zoo. I might go by myself on Saturday. I don't know, I've got a busy day that day. We'll see.

I will probably take baby girl for a walk and come home and clean my floors..they really need it. LOL We will see..

@roz0810 Great job on the loss, I agree with Trooworld...enjoy the mac and cheese!!!!

@trooworld You would get alot of walking in at the zoo here, so I am assuming the same there. LOL. Do it while it's nice right? You may have had a slight gain, but your head is in the right place. You got this.

@TeresaW1020 puzzles..I have 3 I need to do, but not really in the mood right now. LOL. I have 3 or 4 that I glued together to use a pictures...still sitting flat. LOL. Sounds like your day is planned and productive...Hopefully that means DH is doing better.

@cbabie Ah, you think I would have thought of that. Evidently I still don't see myself as that so it's not ingrained. So I have to work on that image. So I'm wondering if the use of the phrase "We'll see" means, Nah, probably not going to happen. LOL I noticed you and Troo used it. I use it too.

@teresaw1020 Fatigue: I don't know. Maybe. Probably. I'm sure lots of it is mental. Whenever I push myself to the limit that is followed by a "I deserve to rest" period. Now to switch that to "I deserve a healthy body" period. That little up/down fasting sounds like it would be a good thing to keep things off balance.

@roz0810 Woohoo! You are rocking the weight loss. I love mac and cheese. Enjoy!

@trooworld So which part of the day do you struggle the most with food? Have you thought about some scenarios that cause you stumble? What's your plan A? Plan B for them? The zoo sounds like a good plan. Plus fun. I love the zoo.

Thanks everyone. I ended up signing up for the 6 month plan with workshops. I went to a kickstart virtual meeting. I plan to go in person on Fri. The points do guide you to healthier choices.

@cbabie I'm glad you are feeling better. How have you been doing on your water intake? Yes, the zoo (and the wild animal park, which is part of the membership) is very large and lots of walking. Thanks, I hope so!

@theslightedgeforever I think it is usually dinner that I struggle most with, only because we sometimes don't feel like cooking and don't feel like going to the store to get an easy meal so we end up ordering pizza because pizza is the cheapest delivery item. There are only two ways to prevent this scenario: either do meal prep on Sundays so that something is made, or buy an easy meal and have it in the freezer. The problem with that is that our freezer isn't very big and we've got veggies and meats in there. Yeah the zoo should work out nicely.

@lorib642 Excellent! I highly recommend Maggie S.'s virtual workshops, she's awesome! Yes, you will find yourself naturally making healthier choices to earn points back to your day or just to fit into your points. Congratulations on taking this step! Let us know how your meeting goes.

Hi all. I ordered some capris from Kohls to pick up as I am allergic to shorts and I want to be comfortable this summer lol. I also ordered a new sun hat to wear to the zoo, I have one but it's really dorky, it is one of those with fabric hanging down the back to protect your neck. Totally stupid looking. The one I ordered is much better looking but still protective.

I drank more than enough water yesterday which makes me happy. It really helps with the cravings. It's supposed to get up to 93F today here. That's too hot for me lol. I will be at home all day working.

Water yesterday: 75 oz
