    Thanks @shanaber . I am feeling better this morning, but didn't sleep as much as I should have, so will see how I feel later in the day. You are doing great with your running/walking.

    4/1 – 5.41 miles
    4/4 – 4.21 miles

    On Saturday, I hiked 9.15 miles on the AT from Sam’s Gap to Devil’s Fork Gap. It was windy and chilly for the first three miles but as long as we were moving it was fine. Total elevation gain was 2,217 feet. At least two-thirds of the hike seemed like it was uphill but at least it was at the beginning. Sunday I went to our local park and walked 3.17 miles after lunch. This morning I did a couple of short workouts in my basement workout room and then headed out for a 4.21 mile run. It was a beautiful morning. Temp was 37F but the horizon was getting light and it wasn’t long before the sun was rising and the birds were chirping.

    Congratulations on a great race and age group placement @marisap2010!

    @skippygirlsmom @shanaber yep, that was me with the ruptured Baker’s cyst. Honestly, trying not to contradict your ortho but I would do anything to go back in time and have that sucker drained before it ruptured. Synovial fluid eats muscle tissue and it was literally six months before I was able to run properly, with my leg looking like an elephant leg from the swelling, and my calf is to this day not as strong as the other one because some muscle was permanently destroyed. Some orthos are really reluctant to drain them because it’s a dangerous thing which can harm the nerves to your lower leg, so you need someone who does it often and is a specialist in that to do an ultrasound guided drain. And a nice shot of steroids into the knee capsule to put a temporary stop to the overproduction of fluid.

    Also, stretching before running was how I ruptured it, so there’s that.

    Anyway good to see you!

    I forgot to post pictures of the wildflowers that I found earlier in the week. Here are a couple, if you are interested.

    Beautiful flowers!

    4/1 – 5.41 miles
    4/4 – 4.21 miles
    4/5 – 5.37 miles

    I met a friend at 5:00 am this morning for 5.37 miles. It was a pleasant 50F.

    Welcome back @skippygirlsmom and @Avidkeo! I missed you last month! Congrats to you @skippysgirlsmom and Skip for the Oak Barrel HM. I had a friend run it who won first place in his age group. Too funny that anyone would complain about the Gulf Shores elevation!

    @shanaber – we’re going to need updated pics of Beaux and Hobbes!

    Hope you are feeling better @Scott 6255.

    @SummerSkier Glad you are enjoying the longer distances.

    Nice workouts and hike @Teresa502 . Pictures coming?

    Glad to see you back @Avidkeo . Also glad your calf is better. Good luck with Hal.

    @skippygirlsmom So glad you are back with us. I hope that cyst doesn't give you too much trouble. You did great with the races and I, too, love the finish line picture. Congrats to Skip on her awesome marathon placement. That is funny about the difference in elevation and that people were complaining that the first course wasn't flat. LOL

    @shanaber I know that you are enjoying Beaux. I hope he doesn't wear Hobbes out too much.

    @Scott6255 I hope you feel better tomorrow.

    Nice run @Teresa502 .

    @polskagirl01 You are doing great with all you have on your plate. Prayers for Ukraine and you and that you are able to find the refugees permanent housing soon.

    Glad to hear from you too @eleanorhawkins .

    April Goal: 100 Miles

    4/3: 10.02 miles
    4/5: 5.25 miles

    15.27/100 miles completed for April

    It was very foggy for my run this morning. The temperature was nice at 56°F, but the dew point was also 56° and the humidity was 100%. It was like running in a cloud. I could only see about a block ahead. It was a good run though and I ran 5 miles.

    @shanaber You are probably right. I'll have to carry a treat with me sometime.

    Good to see you back @skippygirlsmom! Congrats to Skip on her AG placement and good job to both of you on the Races.

    Glad your calf is better and you are back @avidkeo.

    @aine8046 Another beautiful picture!

    @polksagirl01 Hugs and prayers!
