Hi all..been awhile since I've been here. Just plugging along, nothing exciting going on here, lol

@TeresaW1020 I am sorry that Joe is having such a tough time. I hope it gets better for him..and therefore, you too. Like everyone has just said, keep taking it a day at a time.

@trooworld That's too bad about the windshield & the frig. I don't think frigs last too long any more. Dd moved to OK in 2013 & got one after that (not sure when) & it has already died & she had to get a new one last fall. Will your insurance cover the windshield? Ours did. Yay for only having a small piece of the pie. We got a Costco apple one today & I had 1/12 of it, but as big as they are, it wasn't that small of a piece. lol

@roz0810 Good luck..I do think tracking & water are important to start with.

@theslightedgeforever Good job with the exercising! We had a few really nice days this week, so dh & I went for a few walks outside, too. Now it is cold again & possibly snow on Easter Sunday! But they say 70 in a week..I hope!!

Had my Medicare wellness check today. Had been putting it off because I was worried about my BP but it was pretty good today when they checked it. Waiting to see how cholesterol (usually a little high) & blood sugar (usually good) are doing. Overall, she thinks I am doing OK, see her again in a year. That's what I like to hear! & they measured my height...without shoes this time...so I thought oh no, I will probably be shrinking & she said I was 3/4" taller than the last time (with shoes, I think!) Don't think it was right..but oh well, I'll take it!

Dh & I got our 2nd Covid booster this afternoon. It's been almost 6 months since the last one & we are old enough to qualify, so decided we better get it, we wanted to get it before our trip in June. (Dr advised it, too, lol) Feel OK so far other than my arm is already getting sore. (I am assuming no other reaction..we didn't react to the others)

Been trying semi-plant based, limiting dairy, & getting a lot of fiber. By this I mean, I have been having meat only once a day instead of usually lunch & dinner. So far, doing OK..the nondairy thing is not going as well. I really wanted to see how that would affect my allergies. I think I am down a few pounds.

    Have a nice Easter!!

@teresaw1020 I've been skimming the book before I officially start it with my group on Monday and I'm thinking of changing NEVER to once in a blue moon or rarely. So sorry about Joe. Caregiving takes its toll. Plan you some self care time. I know it's hard because you are giving everything you have to others but keep your batteries charged. Give yourself grace.

@roz0810 "hit my highest weight". I just read that in one of my journals yesterday. It was in 2020 and I had gained back the weight I lost during the last half of 2019. I was doing so well then. So which parts are you struggling with? Which meals? Which part of the day? Yes, tracking and eating well is the key for me too. Preplanning my day even better.

@trooworld I love blueberry pie. I like Wheat Thins too. lol I was thinking like your coworker about how things come in 3s but didn't want to stress you out. Glad to see you already had the first one. So you're done. How's your food plan going in general? What good choices other than the pie have you been making?

@gemwolf110 What's the smallest thing you could do this week to change the trajectory of your weight? For me, it could be No eating while I'm watching TV. Part of me wants to add No eating unless it's fruit or veggies. But then I could see myself backsliding by eating fruit and crackers.

@retiredandlovingit Yaaay on growing taller. There's hope for me. :) Hopefully all of your tests will come out good. I still have a couple of months left to hit the 6 month for me and the booster. Yaaay on the lbs gone and the transition to semi-plant based. That's a good way to describe it.

I didn't exercise the other day and yesterday just did my stretches. Just putting it out there for accountability.

Today is a planned rest day.

@trooworld I think if the only stress relief you did was having a small piece of famous blueberry pie you should be congratulated. :) What are you doing with your food until your fridge arrives?

@RetiredAndLovingIt That is good that all went well with your check-up. What kind of Easter plans do you have? :)

@theslightedgeforever Did you get the workbook too? Or are you just doing the book? I ordered the workbook and plan to start it on Monday. I am giving myself grace but I’m also trying not to give myself too much grace, so I end up only hurting myself. Focusing on the Never Binge Again book is good for me right now. :)

@cbabie I hope all is well with you! <3

Hello! Well, today is gorgeous and in a couple of hours, we will head over to the church for our Good Friday service. It’s always a very special time that we look forward to every year. Joe saw the nurse practitioner yesterday at the urologist and they sent him home still having the catheter until Tuesday when he goes back for a scope. Not sure what that is all about and we are doing our best to think positively. So next week is the urologist, the orthopedic doctor, and then his final round of chemo. I sure am glad my mom can still drive herself to her doctor’s appointments or that would be the only thing I ever do. :D Today, I did manage to deep clean the bathroom, and bedroom, and do laundry. I also did a good workout.

    Hi all...
Not much for personals today...just wanted to say this booster has really kicked my butt!! I have been chilling since last night, and my arm hurts so bad, it is hard to raise it or even just move it. Couldn't sleep last night because it hurt & couldn't get comfortable. My Dr said you could get it if its been 4 months since last one (& it's been almost 6), it's been 3 months since I had Covid, so the antibodies should be wearing off. I wonder if it's hit me so bad because I had Covid. I was expecting to breeze thru like each of the others. Oh well, hopefully tomorrow will be better.

@TeresaW1020 Yay for the last round of chemo!! It is nice that your Mom can go by herself...sometimes it seems like all a person does is Dr appointments. You asked about Easter plans..we will be going to church in the am & going over to dd's in the afternoon to play games & eat dinner with them. She wants ham balls (she will make) & cheesy potatoes (I will make) & not sure what else..probably Costco apple pie, lol. We also bought a ham in case the ham balls fall thru, lol.

Just thought of it..we have an eagle nest not too far from our house & 2 of the 3 babies have hatched this week. I love watching them on you tube. (Denton eagle cam) It just amazes me how the parents feed them & take care of them.

@theslightedgeforever Heya. I mostly tend to have a day off plan and then suddenly it turns into 3/4 days off and I've undone all my progress so far. but I've literally had enough of this. I'm going to push myself and shake this weight. I'm still intermittent fasting because it works for me and I see results. but I make sure I eat enough calories too. I'm gonna do this!

@teresaw1020 I don't have the workbook. If you see any pertinent questions that you think I'd like, let me know. I hear you on the dr appts with mil. But now that dh is retired I make him take her. He doesn't ask the right questions or I should rephrase questions that I would ask but I'm learning to keep my mouth shut. Not my problem I keep telling myself. I like to control everything/everyone around me so I'm learning not to do that. If I suddenly died, the world would go on.

@retiredandlovingit It's been interesting watching these vaccines because you never really know what you are going to get with it. Hope you have more energy soon. I'm assuming ham balls are not pig testicles. :D But something yummy, correct? I'll look for the eagles.

@roz0810 I have same problem sometimes. I call it my switch is either ON or OFF. Once it flips off I have a hard time flipping it back on. So now I'm trying to learn that if it's off to manually flip it back on with little actions. I just wish I knew what flips it off in the first place. I never follow a very strict plan because I know myself. But all of us here keep trying and one day we will reach our goals. What I want to accomplish is consistently keeping myself in my weight boundaries as I lose so the mindset is already there once I reach goal. The boundaries would be for instance if my weight was 195, then the boundaries would be 193-197 (2 lbs over and under). As I lose then I keep lowering the boundaries. So if one day I'm at 135, it would be 133-137. If I go over the 2 lb mark I need to immediately follow a "red day" in my case and keep doing that until I'm back under 137. That causes unwanted potential weight creep like 138 then 140 143 145 and before I know it I'd be back to 165 which could hit 180 then 195. So I'm working on that mindset too. Putting my boundaries where I can see them everyday.

@trooworld Did you take your walk? Woohoo on listening to your body for hunger signals. That's the way to do it.

Today's plan is 20 min cardio, stretching and balance.

Hi all...just wanted to pop in and say I am so much better today!! It started getting better last night about 8...so about 30hrs after injection. Arm is only slightly sore today.

@trooworld Great job listening to you body & good luck getting the frig early.

@theslightedgeforever Oh no....not pig testicles!! At least I hope not..dd is making them. :D I have never made them (ham balls), but have eaten them other places. Basically like meat loaf or meatballs, but using ground ham & pork with a sweet sauce.

They do have testicle fries around here (Rocky Mountain oyster fries) but have never been to one and don't think I want to. :D

Happy Easter to everyone who celebrates.

@trooworld I'm glad you got your new fridge. I've had them go out before and know what a pain it is. Hopefully, this one will last for many years. That is terrible that you got such terrible service at the comedy club. I imagine that they were shorthanded as so many businesses are these days. :/

@RetiredAndLovingIt Glad, you are feeling better. :)

@theslightedgeforever Haha we are the same with our need for control and it is hard to let go but we have to or we will burn out and have nothing for ourselves. I’m learning to do that with my staff at work. Lately, if it is not part of my actual job description, I bite my tongue and let them figure it out on their own. ;) I LOVE what you said to Roz about staying within a weight boundary now and not waiting until you are at your goal weight. That is such a great idea! I’m going to add that to my Never Binge Again food plan and make it a rule. If I had done that maybe I wouldn’t have gained so much back these last few months. :/

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a good Easter. Mine started out really stressful because Joe was having some serious dizziness when he got up. He even passed out for a few seconds in the bathroom and would have fallen if I hadn’t held him up. Once he ate, he was able to get dressed and we made it to church, which was wonderful! I did have to get one of our deacons to help him to the car afterward just to be on the safe side. I made a nice dinner of pulled pork and the fixings and we had some apple pie and ice cream for dessert. Joe hardly ate dinner but you can believe that man ate every bit of his favorite pie! My weight was up a little today but I did lose 1.2 lbs. for the week, so I’m happy with that. This week is going to be busy with two doctor appointments and chemo on Friday. I just hope nothing unplanned happens! Have a good day!

Hi all..we had snow yesterday..covered the ground for awhile but then melted..still cold (35) today. This is not spring! I want some warm (but not hot!) weather! Supposed to be 70 by Friday tho.

@trooworld. Yay for the frig. Glad you got it earlier than planned. Too bad the night out was kind of a bust tho! We got Moderna..that’s what all of our others were. I thought about Pfizer but decided against it since we hadn’t had it & I think it is the one dd got & she is convinced it has caused autoimmune issues for her. No way to know tho.

@TeresaW1020 Your poor hubby…I hope things settle down for him after the last chemo.

Got the results of blood tests…everything was good except LDL a little high (106). She said advice would probably be to start statins because of my age, but could recheck in 6 months & see what it is doing then. That was what I opted for, so really have to get serious about the better eating because I don’t want statins. Most days I am eating better than before & I think I have read with a diet change you get more fats in your blood until it finally settles down, so I hope that’s true & will settle down by then.

We had a nice Easter with dd & family. Gkids were upset that dd decided they were too big for an egg hunt. I had gotten some foil chocolate eggs in case we ate here, so took them along & they got their hunt, lol. Of course, then gd gave up hers because she said they taste like soap. She & dd are still having some smell & taste problems from Covid in Jan. She also was discharged from PT (from her surgery) this week, so doing good with the healing.

Not much else going on…have a good week!

Morning all, I have been well not here. LOL. I won't even try to catch up on everything. My DH was in Alaska for 3 weeks, baby girl and I got well I will call it a head cold...and it's just last forever. I am starting to feel a little normal, I even put make up on this morning. LOL. I have lost and gained and for sure have not tracked. I still have goals and am trying to regain some kind of normal in my everyday routine. We do go to the park everyday, and I do try to walk everyday. I just don't ride bike or track..so those are 2 things to work on.

@retiredandlovingit Glad to hear it was the yummy thing I thought it was and not the other. It's nice that you are feeling better. Yuck on the snow. My son was in Des Moines this weekend. He never said anything about the snow. Now he's back to sunny TX. I don't think I would take statins. I've heard such bad things about them. Just keep working on the exercise and the semi-plant diet.

@trooworld I'm so glad you found your sweet spot. That's half the battle I think. Reducing the friction is something that will help you be more consistent with habits. I learned that today on a podcast.
It makes sense. Maybe the bad service at the club was a blessing in disguise. Less calories consumed.
Although frustrating Exercise: Friday and Sunday were planned rest days. I exercised Saturday but not Monday. Also still not today. I have been cleaning out my closet and got over involved in that and didn't stop at the time I was going to for exercise. So I'm taking a break but I will do some kind of exercise. Note to self: Do exercise BEFORE cleaning out the closet. I'm actually switching closets with dh. If you could see my bedroom. It has piles everywhere where I've been sorting.

@teresaw1020 You said, " If I had done that maybe I wouldn’t have gained so much back these last few months" I'm the one with the great idea but I ended up doing the same thing. So I put my boundary on my Trello board where I have a Daily Big Three list and I will look at it every day. Now having said that, I need to discipline myself that if my weight goes over that end number to immediately switch that day to a Red Day. Now the thought just popped into my head. But what if it is one of your two planned green days? HA, I just won't weigh on those days. I usually weigh twice a week and I will switch one of my days around instead of Thursdays. Yaay on the weight loss.

@roz0810 If you figure out how to stay consistent let me know your trick. I did it for 6 months and now can't seem to do it 6 days. You're doing great.

@gemwolf110 Glad to see you checking in. How are the pups?

@cbabie Pick one of those two things and start doing it. Which one would make the most impact for you and your goals? I hope your cold goes away.

So I hope everyone had a great holiday. Looks like the 3 Abrahimic religions have converged at the same time. I read that happens every 33 years. I've been busy listening to podcasts and cleaning out closets.
I went to the doc the other day and they changed my heart med. I take 1/2 of my usual tablet and 1/2 of a new one. We'll see how this goes.

    SW: 273.4

    4/17 272.8 (-0.6)
    4/18 271.8 (-1)
    4/19 270.2 (-1.6)
    4/20 268.6 (-1.6)

    Total loss 4.8lbs

Its so great to see this!! TOM is on the way though so need to watch it!

Thanks all for your kind words. I'm going to continue being consistent because I want/need this so bad. I can't mess up again but I won't deprive myself. Instead of having a takeaway when hubby has one I'll get myself a nice meal within my fat allowance again.

@cbabie I’m glad you are feeling better and trying to get back to normal. One day at a time! <3

@trooworld that is great that you found your sweet spot for IF. I think I have found mine too and usually fast from 5 pm (we eat dinner) to about 11 am. Looking over your points for the week, I know I don’t need to tell you that your snacks are where you are seeing the biggest issues. Have you tried double-tracking calories lately? It might be worth the effort for a week just to see what you’re actually consuming. I remember how those zero foods can sneak up on you. What kind of snacks are you eating, and do you really need to snack? Would you be better off eating a bigger lunch and then waiting to have dinner? This would give your body time to drop its insulin and maybe help you cut the points more and lose more weight, which I know is your goal. :)

@theslightedgeforever I hadn’t heard that about the Abrahamic religions. That’s really cool! I have some closets that need a good cleaning too. I also need to do something about my laundry room, which becomes the catch-all for things I’m not sure what to do with. :/

@roz0810 Great job on your loss so far this month! :)

Hello! Well, life with Joe is still pretty rough. His urologist is having him wear the cath for another week and then will test to see if he can urinate on his own. This morning he is super dizzy and fainted on the bedroom carpet. He is OK and now back in bed. I’m so tired of all this and we are at our wit's end on what can be done. He has an appointment with his orthopedic doc later today and we will tell him that PT is out of the question. Hopefully, Joe’s shoulder is healing up OK. He feels like it is. :/ In other news, I’m doing my best not to stress eat. Sticking to my IF schedule is helping as is reading the Never Binge Again book and doing the workbook. I did an exercise a couple of days ago where I wrote about what my life would look like one year from now if I followed all my rules 100%. It was fun and motivating. Now I just need to do it! :)

Morning all, I stress ate last night. I will say I did go for a bike ride by myself, walked, and went to the park with baby girl. It's not a great exercise day, but it's better than zero movement. I am going to track today and if I get movement in great, if not, I am okay with it today. I feel better today, didn't have as much head congestion as the day before...so means yes I am getting better. Baby girl didn't seem to have as much of a runny nose either..now waiting on DH to get going the other direction.

@TeresaW1020 I am so sorry you and Joe are going through this. No one likes to not feel good, or watch someone they love not feel good. I am keeping you in my prayers. You made a comment that got me to think....what are my goals in 1 year if I did what I should be doing? The funny thing is my Mary Kay director gave a teaching on gardening...she was talking MK, but I have been toying with the idea for life things..you see I am meant for a purpose. So I have also been looking at baby girl will have to be going to school soon and what does that look like? So loved your thoughts!!!

@roz0810 Great job, I think the key is consistency, partly because it then becomes habit and we don't have to "think" about what to do. LOL

@trooworld I am so happy you found a good spot to be in, now to see how to stay in your boundaries? LOL. I could never eat all the free points, I think in my head I knew how many calories they were and I grew up counting calories. LOL. I too don't like the WW recipes. But you are a much better cook than I so, I think you are going to find a way to eat your free food and tweak and stay in points. I believe in you.

@theslightedgeforever I think tracking in what I should focus on...

@roz0810 Looks like you are working your plan. Woohoo! Plus you are thinking in advance of the obstacles that can come your way and how you will deal with them. I was just thinking earlier about the word consistent and then you had mentioned it in your post. That seems to be the crux of our not meeting goal. For me I had realized listening to a podcast that by saying I'm not consistent or if I would just be consistent, the word "consistent" itself was just something abstract that didn't get my brain's attention. Although what did get the attention was the words I'm which is I AM which the brain takes to mean "This is who you are" "This is your identity". So then it shows me short clips of all the times that I haven't been consistent in my life which just reinforces that. So I'm going to begin using the words "doing the habits that work for me" So either I'll be saying Lately, I haven't been doing the habits that work for me or it will be Today I was successful in doing the habits that work for me.

@trooworld So just looking over your points list, if you get 18 points a day it seems like lunch and dinner is almost if not more just by themselves. So how could you be expected to stay within your boundaries if you added in breakfast and snacks. Oh just realized you didn't list breakfast because you are doing IF I assume and not eating in the morning. But wouldn't the first meal you have technically be breakfast because you are breaking your fast. Semantics I know. But if you changed the terminology you could end up with no "snacks" just 3 meals. Now if all you get is 18 the way my mind works is that it's like 6 apiece for the 3 meals or maybe heavier at dinner since that is when you are with hubby and then lighter other times. Questions:

So what are you eating that has you eating 9-20 points for lunch, 9-20 points for dinner, and 3-20 points for snacks. Just go back and look at the 20 point days to start.

Can you make your recipes that you eat a "side" and not an entree? Then supplement the rest with zero point foods. So for instance like MyPlate 1/2 is fruits 1/2 is veggies/salad 1/4 is low point foods and 1/4 is your recipe you made. Are you cooking too much for you and hubby and don't want to waste it so you eat more? Don't want to eat the same thing over and over so you cook more often?

I had the bigger closet originally but then hubby kept buying more work clothes and suits and shoes. (He's part female, I think.) That his closet was overstuffed. Plus he doesn't like throwing, giving away stuff. So one day I just switched closets with him while on a trip. Now I'm doing the same thing since he's retired. (If only he would give up those work clothes and suits. Keep the bare minimum.) Oh well, not my problem unless his clothes start spilling over to my area. I'm still not done as I'm tossing my own stuff while I go. Of course my bedroom is a total disaster as it has little piles all over where I have sorted. I keep thinking Marie Kondo....what brings me joy.

@teresaw1020 So sorry about Joe. Do they know why he's fainting? BP too low or glucose too low? That's great that you are not stress eating. Keep it up. What do you call your Pig? I've named my Beast and he shrieks. Great journal exercise. Isn't doing it the hard part? I've been listening to old GTD podcasts and the main thing seems to be that if something isn't working in your life then your system is not working for you. We tend to blame ourselves. We aren't consistent. We are lazy. We aren't motivated. It's not US it's just the system we have chosen. Make it simple. Make it where you only have to think about it once a week. The rest of the time just follow what you already planned because the mind(beast/pig) will always come up with ways to do something different than what you planned. I heard today Get the physical part moving before the mind kicks in. I read that Abrahamic thing on Twitter and I thought interesting that Jesus was supposedly 33 years old when he died.

@cbabie Yaaay for all the things you did right yesterday. Give yourself credit. What does a great exercise day look like to you? You said I think the key is consistency, partly because it then becomes habit and we don't have to "think" about what to do. LOL That is just what I told roz As I've been listening to GTD which has been interesting since I read his book and started his system 20 years ago probably. That has been turned into Trello for me. But listening to these old podcasts I now see a fatal flaw in my system that he says is in everyone's systems. We make lists either on paper, computer, or head but we don't simplify it down to the "next action". So for instance eat more vegetables would be a card in my "health and fitness" list. Can I do that right now? No because I don't have cut up vegetables that are easy to grab. Or I haven't looked up a recipe for cauliflower that's in there. So I continue to procrastinate on eat more vegetables. I continue to not lose weight. I continue to stay unhealthy.
So you said focus on tracking. What causes you not to track on a regular basis? Breaking it all the way down to the simplest form would be "enter my food into MFP while I'm eating it" No way to forget. If you have a no phone rule at the table, then take a pic. Why do you drink so much water? You never forget to drink your water. Because you had that annoying sound on your phone to remind you to drink your water until you formed the habit. :D Do you still have that sound?

I need to get my rear into gear and exercise. I have a daily goal of 1 hr to stay in the closet but I was in there 2 1/2. Then just was drained from all the mental deciding what to do with things. So what did I do? Went and played with dead ancestors on Ancestry.com So rule today is exercise before closet. My knees are really hurting when I get up so I need to strengthen my thigh muscles.

Morning all, I did go for my bike ride yesterday and almost met my goal of 3 miles. I can't be gone long, when I go so I set small goals and if that is all I do, I am good with it. I didn't go to the park yesterday. I had some to do things I was focused on and park was not one of them. LOL. Baby girl is starting to eat better, so I know she is feeling better too. Have you ever watched a 3 year old get excited about anything? I love when the little things make her smile, laugh, jump up and down...it can be anything like getting tea to go outside and play..mac and cheese when she is really hungry, going to the store to buy "her" food...So I am looking at what can I do to actually be excited about anything again. Depression took me over this last couple of months and I am saying...what little things can I be excited about.. (1) yes I got to bike ride. Today it will be something different. Maybe the little flowers that are blooming in my back yard...simple, keep it simple.

@trooworld I laughed when you said not to bring trouble making snacks in....I wouldn't eat. One thing I know about me is...I won't eat fruit and veggies first...crackers then maybe fruit and NEVER veggies..LOL. So I just today put my little container of 16 wheat thins on my desk. when I want a snack I will reach for that first. So why not have it ready. LOL. I have these little 21 day containers and I use the 1/2 cup carbs one for my crackers they fit nice. I use the tiny orange one for my PB... trying to find what works for me and I know you are too and will find it.

@theslightedgeforever I can't seem to track when I eat it...even though my phone is ALWAYS at my side. I did track yesterday..it wasn't pretty..calories were okay, fat was not. So today is another day. I am wanting to clean out my closet too, ready for another purge.

@cbabie I love three year old and their excitement. I follow this three-year-old named Lily on TikTok. She is beyond cute and so precocious. Being aware of those small things in your life that make you excited is a great way to help battle depression. Keep it up! <3

@trooworld I know that many fasters, including myself, have a real problem opening our window with carbs. Maybe that would be something you could switch up and open with protein first. Or is it possible to open your window with your lunch? Or…maybe instead of thinking of it as a snack, you could make whatever you open your window part of your lunch. Like an appetizer. You just keep tweaking and you will figure out what works best for you. :)

@theslightedgeforever They don’t know what Joe faints. He was diagnosed with Orthostatic Hypotension which basically means if his blood pressure is too low he faints. He takes three pills a day for it and we think it works most of the time. I think yesterday could have also been low blood sugar and I wish I would have thought to check his glucose. He hasn’t been eating much and hopefully, that will change once he is done with chemo. :/

Hello! Joe had a better today than yesterday so that was good because I was able to go clean the church. Tomorrow, he has his fourth and hopefully last chemo treatment. We are really praying that we will start to see improvement in his health. I didn’t go to church to help with the kids last evening because I just didn’t have the energy. I know my children’s director understands but I still can’t help feeling guilty. I am doing well with my fasting and eating. Today as I was cleaning the church, I listened to some interviews that the author of Never Binge Again has had with different people. It was super motivating and very helpful. If you are interested give one or more a listen and see what you think. :)https://www.neverbingeagain.com/general/WorkbookExamples.html

Morning all, I ate horrible yesterday....BUT I tracked it all. That's the first step. I got my bike ride in and went to the park.

@roz0810 great job. you are in your grove!!

@TeresaW1020 I too hope and pray this is the last of the chemo. I know it's hard on a body and family no matter what anyone will say. Don't be too hard on yourself, when we are in the mode..our brain doesn't think oh I should be in charge of this. no it's how can I help my loved one feel better. AND your church will totally understand why and you are not the only person in the church who can help with the kids. I used to take that on and in the end it was not good for me or the people around me. I am proud that you knew you were too tired and you didn't take that on and do it anyway. That is good judgement...you are a wise woman!!!

@trooworld it's super windy here and cool. I hope we don't get the rain. I don't like rain. LOL. Enjoy your time off and especially the zoo walking around in the outdoors is always good for mind body and soul. So glad you schedules worked out you are off the same time. totally use it for both your down times. LOL

@trooworld I think having cheese and almonds is a great window opening snack. Maybe add a little pepperoni or deli meat. I always have turkey pepperoni slices in my fridge. I am glad you finished Fast Feast Repeat and liked it. There really is magic in the clean fast. Have fun at the zoo! :)

@cbabie thanks and I know my church understands. I just love working with the kids so much but I truly think I’ve got to step down at this time in my life. Even if Joe starts feeling better, I think he is now at a stage in his life where I need to stay as available as possible. Why do we have to grow old?? :s

Hello! Whew, I am tired but happy with how today has gone. Joe woke up feeling well and was excited to get his last chemo treatment done and over with. He will have a scan in a few weeks and if there is no cancer then he will just need to be scanned every three months for a year or so. If there is cancer, then we will be looking at options. But we are praying that he is cancer-free!! While he was getting chemo, I did some office work and finally came to the conclusion that the church needs a new computer badly. So, Joe and I went to Best Buy and got a good deal. I will set it up next Tuesday. We had Subway for dinner, which wasn’t the best option but it was tasty. :p

Morning all, Well I did not track yesterday. I could tell you why, but in reality, it doesn't change anything. I went for a short walk late last night, but that was it. I had leg aches all night...I think from no movement and lots of sugar....

@TeresaW1020 LOL I laughed when you said you came to the conclusion the church needed a new comp and you went and found one. They so show your personality...you are a take charge so of person...oh yea since we are twins at birth...you know mine. LOL. I too pray that Joe gets GREAT news. I believe in a God bigger than me. :) Yes I get you too, why do we have to grow old? I am for sure looking at life through those eyes right now.

@trooworld Yea on the choices, well except the ones that put you in the bathroom. I am so sorry. Love the fitbit picture. I am so happy you guys enjoyed your day. I think we should all enjoy our days and not have them be filled with anxiety and worries. We have to learn to laugh more. Of course I am speaking directly to me LOL

@trooworld bummer about the zoo being so crowded. We used to love to go to the Atlanta aquarium but it was almost always overrun with kids. These places need an adult-only day. So sorry about the results of the sugar-free toppings. I have to be VERY careful with certain artificial sugars like Maltitol. I also can’t have chicory root which is in some low sugar yogurts. You would have been better off with some fresh fruit and a few chocolate chips. Live and learn! :/ Love that gorilla’s face. He is like, “What are you staring at, lady?” :D

@cbabie I didn’t track yesterday but then I never do. :D I do like to be in charge, but I don’t like being the one to do everything, which seems to be my life at the moment. Yes, our God is big and He is good!! :)

Hello! Well, we got news today that Joe’s two sons are coming to visit in June. The youngest is coming for two days with his wife and 8-year-old daughter. I’m excited because I adore them all. Then a week later Joe’s oldest is coming for three days, without his family. And I’m happy about that because his wife is not a very pleasant woman and we are usually in complete disagreement on how we think the world should be run. ;) I am super happy for Joe. His sons saw fit to come without Joe having to ask and that is awesome. I had a good day eating and I started a new BOD program that is actually one of their old ones. It focuses a lot on burning fat with weights. And with Joe’s family coming, I want to get a few more pounds off for sure! :)

Afternoon all, I did track yesterday, even though it was ugly. I have been on a sugar stress eating binge and trying to make a U turn today. I woke up with a headache, as I really didn't sleep last night. I dreamed ugly dreams all night. Went to church with baby girl and still have the headache. I am sitting here eating "straws". Baby girl only likes the yellow ones and I eat all the others. LOL. I don't see exercise in my future for today.

@trooworld You know if I think about it, I eat nothing that is not cooked...I don't like raw veggies, etc. If it was a pain to make but you enjoyed it, it was worth it I am sure. I have to get back to cooking..when my DH was gone for 3 weeks, I didn't cook and kind of got out of the habit. If he dies..I would never cook, baby girl doesn't eat most normal foods anyway. She is very picky. Last night she wanted carrots and when I went to get a can of carrots (she only likes the canned ones and you don't heat them up...right out of the can). I had mistakenly picked up diced ones....she WOULD NOT eat them. UGH. they had to be sliced. so glad you liked the WW meeting. I always like the Sat one better than the week ones.

@TeresaW1020 So glad his sons are coming out and especially without asking. I wish I had done more of that with my parents. You just don't know until you are older how sometimes really stupid you are. It seems almost every day I see something of my mom or my dads in my home and wished I had done more. This will be some good memory making time, full of laughter and hugs. I love your positivity in life!!!!

Hi all...quiet day here today. Last night as we were leaving church the storm sirens were going off. We headed home & about 1/2 mile from home it really started blowing, raining, & a little hail. Got home & in the garage & 5 minutes later all was calm. No damage. They had said it was a very fast moving storm!

@trooworld Glad you had a good time at the zoo. I liked the picture of the gorilla. Never had sushi, not sure I would like it. I hope changing your weigh in day helps you.

@cbabie Keep tracking, I think it will get better & easier to stay on track. I finally got up enough nerve to try the Instant Pot & I now love cooked carrots. I usually bake potatoes, but yesterday did them in the IP, too, & almost like them better than baked. Sweet potatoes need to be baked, tho, so they get super sweet.

@TeresaW1020 That is great that his sons are coming to see you. I'm sure that will lift his spirits. Hoping for good news from the chemo. Yup, the Atlanta aquarium was fun to go to, but always so busy.

I have been listening to Food Revolution Network Summit. It is plant based, but today they were talking about gut microbiome. Very interesting! I am doing pretty good on my semi-plant based. Also done better with my no dairy lately. Not sure if it is helping my allergies yet or not, tho, but today I weighed the lowest I have in a very long time!!

Hope everyone has a great week!!

Morning all, I tracked again yesterday. It was not great, but it wasn't totally awful. I did manage to lose 1 lb this week, so I must be doing something..LOL. I plan on going for a walk, or bike ride today and the park. It's supposed to be 90 today..UGH.. I am hoping also to meal plan today and get the food on Wed, just eating what we have until then. Last night I found some frozen melody veggies in my freezer and baby girl ate 2 plates of broccoli and carrots and then a bowl of mashed potatoes. So that means she is getting back her good likes..covid really messed us both up. She used to eat lots of veggies and then covid came and I could hardly get her to eat any veggies, she said they tasted "sour". Even her fruit juice popsicles tasted" sour" now she is eating them again too..YEA.

@RetiredAndLovingIt So glad the storm blew through quickly and no damage...that's the best kind. I laughed at your comment on the sweet potatoes...me and DH are the only ones that like sweet potatoes and I haven't made them in forever...but yes they need to be sweet. I am so glad you like you IP...it makes cooking so much fun when you aren't in the KITCHEN ALL DAY. LOL

@trooworld I will send out the hounds for theslightedge...LOL You were definitely busy yesterday. It wore me out just reading what you got accomplished. LOL. The only cooking my DH can do is eggs and the grill...I wish he would cook more of our meals....a girl needs a night off once in a while. LOL. You got a good one!!!!

@trooworld I love the new BOD program that I’m doing. I think if I really stick this one out it will yield some great results. 😊 What a good idea to get your cookbooks spiral bound. I had never heard of doing that. Does it cost very much? I love cucumbers with Everything Bagel seasoning! It’s good with celery and low-fat cream cheese too. Wow, you did a lot of meal prep. Good for you!

@cbabie I hope you see that your tracking is an accomplishment. That is crazy about Baby Girl’s taste buds. I’ve been having a crazy thing with my taste buds and the way things smell and maybe it’s because of when I had Covid. Like I can’t stand any kind of regular or diet sodas. My favorite mints taste like garbage, and I hate all my perfumes. Even the scented trash bags I used are gag-worthy when I open them up. I’m going to have to do some reading up on this because I’ve actually been concerned about what has happened. Praise God I still love my coffee.

@RetiredAndLovingIt Those spring storms in your area can be very scary, can’t they? Do you all have a safe place to go if there is a tornado? The gut microbiome is a very interesting topic for sure. Lots of my podcasts talk about it all the time.

Hello! It’s been a busy couple of days. Yesterday was a great day! Joe felt good and after church, we went shopping at TJ Maxx it was like having my old Joe back. We had so much fun and he was craving ice cream, so we went to Bruster’s, and I was mostly good because I got the sugar-free ice cream, but I did have some hot fudge and nuts. My weight was up a little this week and it was probably some from the ice cream, but I think it’s mostly from the new workout program I’m doing. I’m down over 4 lbs. this month and determined to crush May. I bought some stickers and every day that I stay 100% free from giving in to the Pig, I will give myself a sticker. I want stickers for the whole month and the only way to do that is to stay 100% to the rules that I came up with. I can do it!! :)
