@cbabie So what is stopping you from lifting weights at home? Do you still have any handweights at home? If not, you can still use filled milk cartons, cans of soup, etc. Even bands can do all those things like the Tonal. If use your own bodyweight for some of the exercises. Go on strike. Take one day and sit and do nothing if that's what you want. Except for baby girl as she can't cook yet. LOL

@trooworld Did you do the Tonal today? You sound so happy and carefree in your post about Mexican food, etc. Mexican food makes me happy too. So does a Mexican siesta. ;) It's nice to find the joy in the little things of life. Put those kind of things in our lifeplans more often. I'd go with the maid but not the cook. You make them mad and they spit in your food. lol I'd rather cook and then let them clean up.

I went over calories yesterday by 230. UGH No exercise either. Water was good.

@cbabie that is sad that you missed saying goodbye to your neighbor. Sounds like it was time for her to not be on her own anymore. One of my sweet friends from church just sold her home and moved up north to live with her daughter. We will all miss her so much, but it was best for her. Ohhh I hear you about just wanting to do something just for yourself. I try not to be resentful at how easily my mom and Joe think it’s perfectly OK that I literally do everything in this house. Does no good to complain though, does it? ;)

@trooworld Yayyy on your 2.2 lbs loss this week and for getting back on the Tonal. I’m so glad that it isn’t giving you migraines. Let’s hope that continues! Yum for Mexican Fiestas! I sure enjoyed mine yesterday. :)

@theslightedgeforever No, I haven’t been writing down my Pig squeals. Might have been a good idea if I had been. See below for my update about the NBA program. OK, we will sit on our mountain cabin porch and just enjoy each other in silence. Unless I have too much wine and then I’m afraid I will become quite chatty. :D

Hello! I have a little time right now so I thought I would catch up. Joe and I loved the Downton Abbey movie! We had a church potluck last night where I ate too much but had a really good time. Everyone was super sweet to Joe and took turns sitting with him and making him feel loved. :) I made a decision this morning to cancel the Never Binge Again intensive program. The name intensive is very accurate! The program has daily check-ins with a coach, several weekly tasks to do, videos, and reading material. I have been feeling extremely overwhelmed and frustrated by how far behind I had gotten. The program is awesome and I’m sure would be very beneficial, but it just doesn’t fit into my hectic life right now and I honestly don’t need another thing causing me stress. I have the book and the workbook and plan to do them at my own pace. This morning I started a summer challenge (Thank you, trooworld) and plan to fast for at least 16 hours, say no to sugar and snacks, and workout at least 5 days a week. Now, I have to go get Joe ready to take him to the dentist. Talk to you later! :)

@trooworld I like when you post your Tonal exercises so then I can use that as a guide. LOL But using my handweights or universal. I exercised 51 min this morning. That's what I did for my future self. I just finished a fajita salad and some cantaloupe.

@teresaw1020 Things like NBA need total focus. So I think you made a good decision. Not forever, just for now. So using the NBA knowledge, what rules do you need in place for potlucks?

Green dot earned for yesterday. A new week began. I gained 1.2 this week. Food was good all but one day. Exercise was lacking only 2 days. Water was much improved. I'm hoping this is just some water weight. I've had soy sauce twice this week. But if not, we shall press onward.

Morning all, I went on a bike ride this morning, tested my sugar levels, blood pressure and have been getting some of "MY" things done. It felt good. I really and going to be watching my body this next couple of weeks to see if anything tells me what could have caused my episode on last Monday. I gained 1.8 lbs this week, no surprise, so we will see what this week brings. LOL. I have to start eating more veggies and fruit..it might be canned, but it will be veggies.LOL

@trooworld glad you are improving with the tonal, yes look at your meal plans and see what fits this week. I did have my PB sandwich.. (:

@TeresaW1020 I am so glad you cancelled that program..I am afraid all the stress will do you more harm than good..you know your body and your household..you decide what is good for you. Yes, last night when my grand daughter asked me what was for dinner, I said...you know someday I will be able to ask you what is for dinner...(she is 23). I might as well been talking to my stove..LOL

@theslightedgeforever I got rid of all my weights, I have the bands and some 3 lb weights...I will be working on incorporating some of those into a routine...but working on a couple of other things right now.. LOL

Happy Monday Y’all! ;) hope everyone is doing well! Had a busy but productive weekend and productive Monday. Attempted to tackle the overgrown backyard. Mower wouldn’t start 2 weeks ago and blade was bent. Finally got it back mid last week. But only got front done and a quarter of back yard done (got dark and bats come out at dark…I have a thing about bats and them potentially swooping down at me). Then it rained, then it shot up to almost 90 degrees and was too hot and worked when it would be sane to mow yard. So tonight was the night. It’s now 90% done. Just have the back corner to do when it’s light out. It’s a section that I need to see where I’m mowing. Will see what tomorrow night brings. Have book club and Zumba this week on the schedule. Also applied for a couple of jobs so will see if they will be better or worse. Hope everyone has a great week!

Morning all, I haven't gotten dressed and went outside yet, but the plan is to ride the bike this morning and come back and clean, get dinner figured out and then read for a bit. For some reason my upper chest/back is sore. I haven't done anything to make it sore, so not sure why I hurt. LOL. Food was okay yesterday...I took baby girl to the store with me and she wanted a ball, (didn't need another ball) then she wanted birthday cake for daddy...(not his birthday)...but we got it, she ate some of it..it's still on the counter..I have not interest. (YET) LOL

@gemwolf110 I wouldn't be out with bats either..LOL. We have such little grass in our yard, its mostly rock...good thing I guess. However, I do like grass, but it's so hot here most people don't have a lot of it. Hope you find the job that fits, you are always keeping your toe in the water.. LOL So it will happen at the right time.

@trooworld your workout wore me out looking at it. I am so glad you are able to use this now...I told my DH about it and he just looked at me like NOT..LOL. I guess I will sit on the sidelines and watch your workouts. :). Maybe you should try canned, I really think they taste like wax, but then I love fresh cooked, just don't like cooking them..LOL

@cbabie How about you eat your PB sandwich and then add some carrots?

@gemwolf110 Yaaay on the Zumba. I don't think I would like those bats.

@trooworld I only eat frozen green beans too. I think the only thing canned I eat now is beans. Especially now with the reading about the chemical linings in the cans that can seep into the food. Same reason I don't think those microwaveable veggies in the bag are really good for you. It's more convenient but I think best to put them in a glass container or a steamer. Thanks for posting the exercises. My next day for weights is Thursday.

    Green dot earned.

@trooworld Pollen is the worst! My mom, who doesn’t even go outside has been suffering so badly from allergies that she didn’t even go to church or the potluck last Sunday. I hope you get some relief soon. :/

@cbabie Sorry that your chest/back hurt. Could it be the way you are sleeping? I’ve had a major pain happening in my right collarbone for a couple of months now and I’ve finally determined it’s how I’m sleeping. Not sure how I’m supposed to fix that issue! I need someone to bring random birthday cakes home to me! :D

Hello! I took Joe to get his CT scan done this morning. We meet with the oncologist on Friday to find out the results. I’m sure praying that he is cancer-free. Tonight, I’m going to church for the kids Awana ceremony. After the horror of what has happened in Texas, I just want to go love on some sweet kiddos. I can’t imagine what those parents are going through. It took me weeks to stop imaging the last moments of my daughter’s life and what I went through doesn’t even come close to what these parents are living with today. :'( I did do a workout this morning and my eating has been good so far. There is a potluck reception tonight at the church and I’m already having a serious discussion with myself about what I will allow and not allow. :|

Hi all, I went on a bike ride today took Baby girl to the library and did some stretches there with her..(not more than a min) but it felt good. LOL I ate terrible last night and am just writing it off and moving on...I do need to incorporate stretching in my plan..that felt so good..

@TeresaW1020 I holding Joe in prayer too! I haven't read about the TX thing, I knew it happened, but haven't looked at it. I need to do that to keep my focus on what's important. ( raising baby girl) Great job on the workout. Hope you win your discussion. LOL

@trooworld I have bands I bought..just need to use them...so I must start!!! Pollen is bad here to, I have done nothing but sneeze all day..

@theslightedgeforever yuck carrots and PB..ugh no thanks...I like cooked carrots, but not with my PB or ever close after my PB..LOL.

@TeresaW1020 Thank you, my eyes feel better today. Oh I hope Joe is cancer-free. I'll be thinking of you guys. Yeah, what happened in TX is so tragic. I can't even begin to imagine. That's good you are thinking ahead about the potluck.

@cbabie Stretching feels so good. Yes, start with those bands, girlfriend! I hope the pollen count goes down there.

Hello all. My pup is getting her 2nd eye surgery today (the vet down in Mexico didn't get all of the matter out and it caused a problem). This is technically my work-from-home day but I have a lot to do in the office so I'm going in while Daisy is in surgery. I won't work out today, no time. I hope to tomorrow. Food was pretty good. Not perfect but better.

    Water yesterday: 60 oz

My phrase for the year: "Something needs to change…so I will take no crap and eat no crap!"

Praying for a successful surgery and quick recovery for Daisy!

Morning all, Yesterday was a blur to me.. I really didn't get much done. I didn't eat too bad, but not great before I went to bed. I was extremely tired. Got up a little later today, but have already stretched, went to the park, put some new things on my calendar. Baby girl did stretches with me..she could reach her toes plus...I could reach my knees..and she kept saying you can do it..LOL. It felt good to stretch..my upper chest and back are just so sore and I am not sure why. LOL

@trooworld So glad Daisy's all better and on the mend. Your January trip sounds like you..LOL I expect to hear you have pictures all over your place and computer of where you are going and a countdown. LOL. Great job on the choices..the best of both worlds. no cook eat well...LOL

Hello all I'm so tired. Too many outings this week and this next week has a couple. I just want to hibernate. I didn't follow my healthy habits yesterday. I don't think I've tracked in 3 days which is so unlike me. I really haven't done much of anything but go out. I hate weeks like this but this too shall pass.

@cbabie How fun to do stretches with Baby Girl. I hope you get some rest.

@trooworld Poor Daisy! I hope her eye will heal quickly and she will feel better. A trip to Mexico City sounds wonderful and super relaxing! You now have some real motivation to drop some pounds and buy some cute vacation clothes!

@theslightedgeforever I feel you on being tired of going out so much and how it takes a toll on our healthy habits. I’ve been home today but between taking care of DH and my long to-do list, it isn’t very restful. :/

Hello! Joe and I went to see the oncologist yesterday and the good news is that his CT scan didn’t show any signs of cancer. We will have another scan in three months. The oncologist was concerned by Joe’s weight loss, anemia, and that the CT scan showed that he has a fairly severe bowel obstruction. So, he gave him an Rx for Linzess which was crazy expensive, but we went ahead and got it. Otherwise, we are looking at finding a GI doctor or going back to the hospital. Ugghhh! I’ve spent today getting this and that done. The bird that built a nest on my front porch had her babies, so I keep looking out the window at their tiny heads. Sooo cute!! :)

@teresaw1020 Woohoo on the great report from the oncologist.

@trooworld Looks like you are beginning to make the tonal a habit. Good for you. Could you keep salad fixings around the house and then eat some pizza along with a salad. Making this note to myself. I imbibed on pizza this weekend. Can you imbibe a pizza? Sad thing it wasn't as good as normal but I kept eating.

hey to the rest of you. I did not track for 4 days. Only exercised 3 days last week. I did earn a green dot yesterday. So three for the week. I have also met my water goal two days. But I gained 3.5 lbs. So onward we go.

I found a nice book called 12 week year. It's a different mindset than we usually have.

Hey all. I’m back on the forums. Will try to be somewhat active. 5 months into a full house renovation. Starting to get to me. About 1 more month to go. Quit weight watchers. Did 4 months of Noom. Now just counting calories here and using my Fitbit. Been getting my steps in. Just finished a 6 week step bet. And right now doing a conquer challenge (mt Everest) Cashed in my Ww reward points. Went for a 6 km 44
Minute jog this morning. Just need to get back at doing my BOD workouts. But house is just to disastrous right now. Hope everyone is doing well.

Hello all, I was MIA for a couple of days. I had a 1.8 gain and I can say its cause I didn't track last week and I really haven't been exercising. So yesterday I cleaned most of the day, went for a bike ride and we cooked out. I just had a hamburger, but that was 12 grams of FAT...and of course I had to have PB yesterday, that was 16 grams of FAT, so I was over, and a little over calories, but I could have done so much more worse. LOL

@trooworld I am so proud of you, you go girl with the TONAL. I am trying to ride my bike 5 times a week and then do my bands 3 times a week. You ALSO made it almost the whole way around the lake..I hear a song in my head...get your body movin...I think you are!!!!

@theslightedgeforever sorry about the gain, but you are back to tracking, so you will do this. you know I don't eat PIZZA only because of the sodium, too bad I couldn't do that with PB because of the FAT.. LOL.

@TeresaW1020 So glad to hear the good news and pray you find the right Dr for the other news. I have deleted and retyped so many things to you this morning..LOL. What I want to say is I am praying for you and so glad you are there for your DH and mom and we are here for YOU....( I can't come clean or cook, but I can give you support and encouragement). LOL I can try to make you laugh..we all need to laugh.

@renaegry welcome back..I hope your renovations end soon and you then can sit back and enjoy the view you have worked so hard for. I took a few deep breaths for you.. LOL

@renaegry House renovations are the worst living through them but when it's done it's so nice. You sound like ou have your plans all made and now time to work those plans. You can do it.

@trooworld Good choices you are making. That's good that you did the tonal first. You know yourself and you are making changes to be the new person who moves her body. I bet the water view on your walk was so nice. So new insights into the book. Treat 12 weeks like it's a year. A week is a month and a day is a week. So you aren't wasting time thinking I have the whole year to lose some weight or whatever the goal may be. It puts an urgency into it. It talks about keeping a weekly score card on habits or goals you choose. I'm using HabitHub. Then having a weekly accountability meeting (WAM) with someone. Tell them what your score was for last week, what goals you are working towards the next week, talk about solutions and practices you will put in place.

@cbabie So tell me about the sodium and pizza. What happens if you have sodium? Now you will probably tell me that your hands will swell up. So by eating all that fat, think about your blood. Eating too much fat causes your LDL cholesterol to raise. That can cause risks for heart attack and stroke. I know you can feel the effects of the sodium but not the other. But it's still happening inside of you.

So another good day for me yesterday. Starting over on my green dots for the week. Stepped on the scale and some of that sodium bloat came off. Yaaaay

Morning all, I was horrible yesterday, not so much snacks, but yes the fat. I did go for a bike ride and I went for one this morning. Took baby girl to the library and getting ready to go meet up with my oldest. I won't be home for most of the day, so maybe a good eating day. LOL

@trooworld I hope you don't have to go back into the office. I don't see why they don't keep the modified work styles. It really helps on the budget....tell them you won't be able to work unless they pay for your gas..LOL. good job tracking...

@theslightedgeforever You have a good point about what I can't see. You know I am a visualist. I guess I will have to see . I am sure you can help me with a visual..LOL.

@trooworld What are your favorite workouts on the Tonal? I can imagine how hard it will be to have to go back to work 5 days a week after not having to for such a long time. Before Covid, I worked at the church 4 days a week and now I go into the office for about two hours once a week. I can do so much now from home and I love that! :)

@cbabie Thank you so much for your prayers! <3 They mean more than I can say and I desperately need them. And please keep making me laugh and tell me all the funny things that Baby Girl is doing. How old is she now anyway? :)

Good morning! I woke up at 4 am and finally got out of bed at 5:30 am. I am just so upset that I couldn’t sleep. I think I mentioned that my pastor developed Parkinson’s disease this past year and it’s only getting worse for him. Yesterday he came to the house to personally tell us that he will be stepping down at the end of the month. I understand all the reasons as to why he will be leaving but dang it my heart is broken! Losing him on top of all that I’m going through with Joe is too much. Of course, we all promised to remain friends and I hope that will be the case. I adore his wife and I do plan to reach out to her as she is now facing a life with her husband that might end up very similar to what mine has become. I am working on clinging to my faith and not stuffing my face with junk. I did well yesterday and today I’m having lunch with my friend and plan to order something healthy. OK, I’m off to get Joe up so I can go to staff meeting as Pastor tells the rest of the staff the news. Ughghhhh!!! :|

Morning all, yesterday I ate too much PB, but it was a really weird day. I am not beating myself up ( I will leave that to my sister) LOL only kidding.... I am hoping to go for a ride in a bit, get dinner in the crockpot and then read for a bit. I have 785 books in my kindle, not to count the hundreds of hard copies I have in my home..LOL. I always said when I retired, I was going to read and sew/crochet/cross stitch...well I am working on that. I have had to do a brain dump on paper just to get all the things out of my head for a few min. It was good to see my oldest and I tried some kind of foo foo drink... it was like blueberry sparkling something...I am not a coffee house girl. :). Give me my black coffee in the AM and I am good to go.

@trooworld love your workouts..I need to get on those bands...I really have to plan a time or it will never happen in this house. LOL.

@TeresaW1020 I am so sorry to hear about your pastor..I am just now recovering from the "loss" I felt when my Pastor called it quits. His was for different reasons, but I had been going through a lot when all that happened on a personal level and was still recovering from the loss of my dad...so I will add you to my prayer list for a different set of reasons. If you ever need to just "talk" please reach out to me. Looking back now, I see all the emotions I "ate" or didn't "eat"....I know you have a support group there close to you, but...I am here!

@trooworld Well at least you have some warning on the back to work scenario. So that gives you time to plan. How will you continue your exercise? You know it can be done as other people commute and exercise. You just have to figure out how you will work it into your life. Yaaay on your water.

@cbabie YouTube has videos about what happens inside your body. I saw one that was about autopsies. They were showing the organs. Yaaay on your bike ride. Glad to see you do some stuff on your #retirementlist I'm a coffee house gal but I always order tea. I just like to sit inside and read my Kindle once in a while.

@teresaw1020 Sorry about your pastor. Seems sadness everywhere these days. I hope you are still keeping a "I'm grateful for...." list.

Things have been going good this week.

@trooworld Yaaay on your plan. Fingers crossed it doesn't come to it and you can still work from home. Copy your message so later you won't forget. I came across a plan that I had written two years ago to do and never did it. lol I'm still having the same problems. We just keep trying.

So another good day for me. Friday is usually my rest day but ended up doing a YouTube video just now with hubby. The other day I had done a video in his mancave while I was waiting for him to come out of his garage. Just 10 min BeeGees one. It was really good but short. Yesterday he saw the 50's=60's one on his feed and did that. So today while we were sitting there watching TV he says, let's do that lady on YouTube. Now I'm really thinking, "But this is my free day" :| But I was a good little wife and got up and did 20 min with him. He was done after 15 but I said oh come on, it's the cool down, you can't stop now. Now he wants to do it every morning. I'm like as long as it doesn't interfere with my morning workout. I want to keep my habit going.

@trooworld Great job on getting in your workouts. Your coach Natalie looks like she can kick some butt! I see that you have also been doing well with getting in your water!

@cbabie Whoa that is a lot of books!! :o How many of those are unread? Thank you for the prayers and offer of support. Even though we have never met and might not in this life, I know that you are a good friend and I’m here for you too. <3

@theslightedgeforever I just journaled this morning and mentioned things I’m grateful for. It certainly is an important thing to do, or I would just wallow in my self-centered misery. that is so sweet that you are working out with your hubby!

Hello! Well, after 13 years of using the same hairstylist, I had no choice but to go somewhere else. The salon is more upscale than I’m used to but everyone was very nice. I really liked the woman who did my hair, and it looks fantastic! I now have some great summer highlights and a sassy new cut. I did pay more but I’m OK with it and Joe loves it. I did a good strength training workout this morning and my eating has been good. Tomorrow Joe and I are going to see the new Top Gun movie. I’m excited!! :)

Morning all, I guess I missed yesterday. When I get out of my routine, I am in trouble. LOL. I didn't eat too well yesterday, went on a bike ride, but mostly sat and read...got a good thing for me to do. I need more movement. I just know I have to do something for me. I guess the positive thing is I am more aware of what I am doing and eating and why these days.

@trooworld love the new chart. LOL I laughed when you said I was old school..yea I guess I am. :). At least old I am loving the fact that you and your DH both use the Tonal..that is great. Mine does really nothing active anymore and it worries me...but I can't control all things..(even though I try) LOL. My DH is very thin, but that's because he drinks coffee and smokes all day and I mean ALL DAY....eats 1 time a day with a snack at night.

@TeresaW1020 I remember when I had to change stylist...it was hard, our hair is very personal..LOL. Glad you like her. Great job on journaling. I find since most the time I don't have someone to "talk" to..my journal is my friend.

@theslightedgeforever I will pass on the You tube video..I would like to keep my stomach from being nauseated. LOL. Maybe another way...glad you and DH are working together...I don't even say someday on mine..LOL

@teresaw1020 Yaaaay on getting back to your exercise and good food. I have my sister beat in Kindle books. 2872. I don't know how many are unread but ALOT. I read alot off of Kindle Unlimited so my stash doesn't get touched. But I just started forcing myself to read the ones already there. Hubby and I want to see Top Gun this week.

@trooworld Morning came and went and dh hasn't mentioned the workout. I knew he wouldn't. So I'll just keep doing mine and then do his as extra if he mentions it again. Woohoo on your loss. Plus look at all those Xs Keep it up

@cbabie You can still use YouTube for movement. LOL There has to be some exercise video you like out there. Do 5-10 min. I just put in 12 min. 5 min on the elliptical and the rest was stretching with my breathing exercises thrown in. I'm still working on my burned calories for the day. I have 32 more to get so I'll be up walking soon. But I got in my last 4 zone minutes I needed.

@trooworld Bravo to your husband on his hard work. It's good that you can be a support for each other. Great NSV. Each time we do that we become stronger for the next time. I had a similar thing yesterday. I had already planned my ice cream trip because he wanted it on Friday but I don't do sweets on non-green days so I told him Saturday. We went to a cafe and they never have the tea I like so I had started ordering hot choc then. But since I already knew I was going to have ice cream later, I just sat and drank a bottle of water while he had his coffee. It worked out just fine. Less calories for me. Kudos for setting your boundaries about your meal prep. Yaaay on your exercise and water.

@trooworld Good job on the meal prep. I need to do my meal planning for the rest of the week. I did well despite not knowing what I'm going to eat everyday. But I was making good choices. What are you reading right now?

Another NSV for me. Went to a coffee shop with dh and he says they have good ice cream here, do you want some? No. It's really good. No. it's pistachio. No. 30 min pass...... They have cake here, do you want some cake? No. I said how about bring me back here on Thursday or Saturday and I'll try the ice cream if they have a different flavor. (preferably choc) I woke up late and did my stretching and then got some cardio in later. Usually I think, I exercised for the day already or I'll add some extra cardio tomorrow. Never trust your future self.

I lost 2 lbs this week.

Afternoon all, I have been busy getting things done around the house, but feel I got nothing done. I just got home from getting groceries and one of the milk jugs leaked all over the car...UGH. 101 out, then DH puts in in the fridge...MEN...LOL. I tracked everything yesterday and so far today I have been on track. I lost .4 lbs but my goal was more but I am grateful it's not a gain. I have drunk 2 containers of my water and goal is for 2 more. No exercise and I just know I won't. I have to figure out a way to do it in the mornings, but I can't leave baby girl to go for a bike ride until DH gets up and that is too late for me. So have to find a plan that works. I am a early bird and like to have most things done by 10AM or noon at the latest.

@trooworld so proud of you and DH, He has worked hard and for a good reason...HEALTH. So glad you two have each other to keep pushing and encouraging each other. l just smh for my DH. I don't want to go through a long medical situation with him if he could have done something to prevent it. I know I am selfish, I just don't understand some things LOL. Great NSV, you are doing so great!!!!

@theslightedgeforever I am so proud of the effort you put into your health!!! Thank you for doing that.

Morning all. House is slowly coming together. Cupboards are roughed in. (No final trim etc ) no counter for over a month. Been without a sink for a week. New appliances went in yesterday. Finally have some floor space in my livingroom so since there are no contractors here today I am going to say 6 of BOD morning meltdown. Then a walk later today. And tomorrow plan is to cut the grass. That’s a workout in itself. (4 commercial lots takes a good hour).
