    02.4: 3.0km in 25 min
    08.4: 4.2km in 34 min
    11.4: 4.3km in 35 min
    12.4: 5.0km in 40 min (plus few seconds)
    14.4: 3.5km in 30 min
    18.4: 1.1km benchmark run
    19.4: 3.6km in 30 mins, 20 second stride repeats
    21.4: 5.0km in 42 mins, slow run
    24.2: 1.609km in 12 mins

    For some reason I started running far too fast before even being half warmed up. So what the heck, the run was messed up anyway. So I fought to get at least 12 minutes in. Managed it, just about. At least these kind of runs make me faster in the long run. So no complaining :)

    @rheddmobile thank you! I had a run-in with 10 deer yesterday. As I was coming around a bend in the trail, about 8 deer crossed in front of me but two of the group were cut off my by presence. They stopped and looked really nervously at me so I stopped, walked backwards for a bit and waved them through (as if the knew what that meant, lol!). It worked, and they ran across in front of me as well to join their pals. They all must have just swam across the lake since their fur was still dripping wet.

    @polskagirl01 sorry you're dealing such heavy issues right now but bless you for helping those in need.
    @kgirlhart outstanding race!

    Congratulations on your 10K race and age group placement @kgirlhart! You did great!

    @polskagirl01 - That is so sad that there was yet another mining accident. I used to work for a coal company and shortly after we acquired another company there was an explosion at one of the underground mines resulting in several deaths. It is heartbreaking for the families of the miners trapped underground like that. I hope that the housing for your guests comes through soon.

    Thank you, @polskagirl01 ! It's good to be back.

    Today I did a 4 mile walk with Kody followed by a 6 mile run solo. Kody was pushing the pace for the first half but dragging behind for the second half. I need to get him out more often.

    The run itself was mediocre but no pain to speak of, so I'm excited about that. I think as long as I pay attention to my footwear and slowly increase mileage I should be good.

    This brings me to 80 of my 90 mile goal for April. Somehow I finished the week with 34.4 miles, my second highest week so far this year.

    Are any of you participating in the GVRAT this year? I did this two years ago and it pushed me to have my best months ever for the 4 months of the race. I skipped it last year because of my 7 month bout with plantar faciitis. Looking forward to getting back at it this year. If Kody was more active I'd register him for the canine division.

    @SummerSkier If my pace was as fast as yours, my HR would be way up there! LOL But, I do think the slower paces help with conditioning, somehow. Glad your are loving your new shoes. And great job being on pace to meet your goal.

    @Scott6255 Nice long run today! No shame in taking walk breaks (in my opinion).

    @polskagirl01 Hugs and prayers to you and the people in your town regarding the mining accidents and the Ukrainian people.

    @yirara Nice run.

    @7lenny7 I know you are disappointed in not being able to race, but you did make the right decision. I'm glad you ran into a friend and were able to catch up. Sounds like a fun day, even if it wasn't what you wanted it to be. I hope you get the shoes figured out.

    48.75/70 miles

    Today was a rest day, so I did my mile walk to keep my streak going. Looks like I won't make my arbitrary 70 miles for the month. I probably could if I pushed it next week, but it is supposed to be a cut back week. I'm going to follow the plan and not worry about the mileage. Hopefully I'll have a better idea of what I should do next month, since I have the plan to go by. Can hardly believe it is almost May already!

    @polskagirl01 Echoing several others here. You are dealing with so much. I am so sorry to hear that now there are mining accidents with people missing on top of everything else. Hoping for some good news for you!

    @Scott6255 Good job getting a tough run done.

    I think your paces were awesome @martaindale ! Only in my dreams, even though Garmin seems to think I can do a 5K in 29:37 minutes. I've never even been close to that.

    Glad you had a nice cat run today @polskagirl01 . I hope you have a productive day.

    I didn’t get any running in this weekend. My dad who is 82 yo sold his last farm so I spent the weekend helping him sort and move a lifetime of tools and equipment. Well, not everything but we made a dent in it anyway. In the past month, he has sold some larger items like a backhoe, endloader, fertilize spreader, cows, truck and cattle trailer, a couple of bush hogs, etc. but there is still a lot left. He has a hard time letting go of stuff. I think it’s because he didn’t have much growing up and worked hard to get everything that he has. I don’t try to convince him either way. Just try to help. My back was achy on Saturday evening but nothing an Advil, a few minutes on a heating pad, and a good nights rest couldn’t cure. I’m counting it as a weekend of cross-training!

    This morning I ran 7.82 miles in my neighborhood. I went out about 6:10 am and the temp was around 55F. I had to walk some of it coming back up the ridge. Total elevation gain was 2,278 feet. I was slow but I got it done. My Garmin (I don’t know if it will be the same one fixed or a refurbished one) is supposed to come back to me today – yay!

    @7lenny7 – I’ve had some friends participate in GVRAT the past couple of years but I never have signed up for it. I just finished one of Laz's team challenges - CRAW. It was separated into 18 regions and it took our team about a year and a half to complete the challenge. I'm definitely ready for a no-logging miles break! Have you joined our Run the World challenge? It automatically imports your mileage from Strava. We are about 255 miles behind pace so we could use you!

    Great pace work @martaindale!

    I haven't, I don't think I've heard of this before. I'm at 370 miles for walking & running for the year.
