Heather - loved the pics--you definitely appeared to be the happiest one there!
I set the first washing of spring out this morning - all the whites. I do love the slight roughness and incredible scent of a towel that's been dried in the sun. Sheets too, and those are next.
Debating on how much to try to accomplish outside today. Supposed to rain tomorrow, so will have tomorrow to curl up with a book, even though it's what I want to do today!
Later, y'all,
Love,
Lisa
line dried laundry is one thing I really can't handle- don't want anything even remotely rough touching me. I used to hate when we dried our clothes on the line.
I have gotten worse about it over the years. If I am shopping for clothes or blankets or anything that touches my skin, I feel it first-before checking the price, seeing how cute it is, etc.
I also have taken out all tags out of my shirts. I like the idea of tagless in my t-shirts UNTIL they get a bit rough. I found I can iron them to get them smooth again.
The worst thing is the stiff/rough net type binding they put inside some bras on the seams. SERIOUSLY they put the roughest stuff around and put in on the most sensitive part of the body.
I do not buy clothes online anymore at all- I have to see/feel them first.
My favorite thing I am doing now is sleeping on one of those super soft blankets from Kohl's with a Sherpa blanket from there on me- feels better than the flannel sheets even. Those were nice when we first bought them and still not bad, but not like sherpa
I don't mind rough towels because my back is often itchy and I can get a good scratch with a towel.
But I'm with you on everything else. And I have to sleep on the smoothest cotton sheets I can find. Any sort of blanket is too rough for my skin ... or makes me itchy.
And you're right about bras ... I wear sports bras when I exercise but when I go to buy a new one they're often so rough. I can't imagine how people wear them for exercise.

Son and family at the zoo last weekend.💖. I miss them. I miss my overseas sons. Life is very quiet. Tomorrow we are exploring old town Whidbey, and a car show, and Tulip festival is going on. Should be fun.

Haven't hung clothes outside for years. Now I wouldn't because hauling wet clothes up from the basement would be a bit beyond me. Also, no clothes line in back yard. Years ago there was a large tree and a line ran to the house. Had to cut down tree several years ago and never came up with clothes line alternative.
Take care all,

Outside ... or inside on a drying rack ... is how we dry clothes here. Like many Australians, we don't have a clothes dryer although I think they are becoming a little bit more popular. I wouldn't mind a small one but I don't know where we'd put it ... the house isn't really designed for a dryer.

For the first time in at least a year I left work on a Friday afternoon and felt caught up. I think this will be a great weekend. I won’t be dreading all I have to do on Monday.

I like to dry things outside on the line, but I sometimes forget they are there, I did that yesterday, put some towels on the line went about my day. We walked the dog quite late last night because it was too sunny for Heather ( and the dog too lol) completely forgot about the towels outside, only noticed them when I opened the curtains this morning in the dining room. Doh! Luckily it didn't rain during the night so I will let them warm up a bit and bring them inside. Already got another load ready to go out.
I had a busy day yesterday, spent quite a bit of time at my mums. Her television has been pixilating a lot, I thought she needed a new one, but she thought it was the aerial. I contacted someone to come and have a look at it and it turned out it was the aerial. He fitted a new one straight away. I spent a few hours on the morning moving the display case behind the TV that is filled with her clown ornaments and various other nick nacks . This hadn't been moved in some time so I had to vacuum the carpet and wash the skirting board so the technician could get to the aerial socket. Once he had gone, I had to put them all back. Took ages because there were other things behind the TV - a broken VCR (which I persuaded her to throw out) old videos etc. She makes me laugh though, she hates parting with money too, she always asks if there's any discount for cash or discount because she is a pensioner. Yet if my son ever takes her to a shop or appointment, she is throwing money at him for taking her.
I'm going to get my hair cut this lunchtime and then this evening I am volunteering at the Theatre, it's Wind in the Willows, I'm looking forward to it, I hope I'm not selling sweets again though, it's quite stressful.
Have a good weekend ladies6 -
I line dry washing, if possible. Don’t have a dryer. But I do have a large cupboard where our boiler is, with a hanging rail for wet days. And an indoor surer in my Hibbies room. I also hate clothes tags, especially ones at the back of the neck.
Tracey: It’s a good feeling when you have sorted a worrisome task!
Rebecca: Athena is growing so fast.

Tracey-congratulations on having a free weekend from work! I have to do a few things for work today but I want to make up from time missed due to medical stuff.
Rebecca-Miss Athena has a personality that just doesn’t end!
Viv-your mom and her spending totally makes sense to me. I will research and check and triple check before buying something for me. Early in pandemic I was on phone with DIL in Arizona and we were talking about granddaughter remote learning. Before we hung up I had ordered a new ipad for her on line and was having it shipped to house.
Antidepressants-I have never used them. My husband found them helpful but I had to monitor he took them as prescribed. He would sometimes forget to take them and the results were not good for him (suicidal feelings, etc.).
I do have a clothesline in the basement by the washer and dryer that I use for some items that I don’t want to shrink. I just couldn’t face drying everything that way if I have a choice.
I am working on a “to-do” list today. Creating my list of things to get accomplished prior to moving to Arizona. Need to get some things completed around house and stuff sorted out. I also, with to do lists, end up adding the things I do that aren’t on that list!
Rainy this am so will work on inside of house-hoping to get outside for a dry walk this pm.
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio

Good morning ladies!
Yesterday was a good diet day for me. Let's hope it's the start of a trend!
I read part of another thread, and now I have all the names and stories mixed up in my head. But it does help with motivation.

Morning, afternoon and evening all...
Lovely, peaceful morning so far. Better than last night. Got a text from my daughter that there were tornados touching down near them, and all the sirens were going off. Luckily, base housing in Kansas is built with an in-house tornado shelter. Under the stairs, they built a bathroom with a steel door and heavily reinforced walls. Here are the kids during the tornado warning:
As I wandered around the web this morning, I found the YouTube channel of Hampton Liu. This is for those who just aren't ready yet for the "no pain, no gain" kind of exercise. This guy gives advice and how to move with every fitness level - no equipment needed. Watched a couple of his videos, and was impressed. Obviously not for the Pips of this world, who are very far along with their exercise progression, but for those who are trying to commit to exercise as a habit...
Sending Corey off to get his haircut and shop for groceries this morning. I'm happy to be staying at home... we don't shop well together. Gloomy day outside, rain might hold off, though. Hard to tell, and the weather critters are seldom right.
Later, y'all,
Love,

I went up the stairs using my sore knee, without pain! Yay! It's been over two weeks, so I'm glad to see improvement. Tonight is back to my dumbbell routine.

Carla AGREE!!! Staying into today. Rain all day.
Rita Your son is ill. Tough love is not the answer. Having been there it is hard to finding a balance of being involved with someone who is mentally ill. I know you live far from him so in some ways it makes it harder and in other ways easier. Just try to remember he is ill . Give what help you are comfortable with and encourage him to find help in the systems that are in place. I did just learn through a friend here in Minnesota there is a program that tries to find housing for those who are mentally ill so they have more stablity. That is one of the things that makes this illness so tragic. They are one of the most vulnerable populations, but because of their behavior they are some of the most difficult to help. Our son was evicted like yours after just moving into an apartment. His episode was the reason. I tried to remember with our son it was like dealing with an adult having a temper tantrum. With children you try to stay calm yourself by breathing and just let the child you are there for them as you let the tantrum burn itself out. I would do the same for our son. Despite everything my son knew I was always there for him. His last text to me was I truly love you mom. I wish I had better answers for you just know you and your son are not alone. As much effort that has gone into cancer research needs to go into mental health. My last note is to do whatever you need to do to help your own mental heath. For me what saved me is my own research, gardening, singing, painting, feeding my spirit, and having DrewB. During this hard winter and spring here in Minnesota I would find beautiful Flower pictures on Facebook and share them everyday.9 -
Debbie I have one of those carts. I will try this.1
