Food was super clean today.
Hi Colette!
I walked 10.400+’steps today. Finally! I walked 10K steps on average since March 2018 until March 29. I’m building back up!!! I felt much more like myself today! Thrilled we had been ok given less exercise. Appetite definitely increased tho. I prefer to walk & not have the munchies LOL
Here’s to kickin’
Butt the final 10 days of April!!
BTW congrats on your commission! What medium/style??
Keep On Truckin’

4/27. 161.7. 161.7 Not ideal but not unexpected - walked 1/2 my monthly avg steps & ate about 100-200 extra calories many days.
Took a turn in the wrong direction.. too busy, not sleeping, aching body (meds?), fatigue
A Perfect Storm
I have to remember that I can’t get
Too busy. Maintaining my weight takes energy & focus even if I wish it didn’t. AND it’s worth it!
So I’m making life less busy, working to get a better sleep plan in place, will just have to learn to ignore the aches & fatigue as I really can do my walking just fine.
I’ve set a lower calorie goal, but not too low.
Prepped “salad bar” in fridge which I replenish so it’s as easy to eat a salad as to make toast.
Positive self talk. If I tighten up now, I’ll be back under 160 soon.
Hugs,
Maddie 🌸

@MadisonMolly2017 Hi Maddie! Thanks for the congrats. The commission is a life-sized bronze sculpture of a nurse on a bench to be installed in near the local university’s (my alma mater) school of nursing. I’ve been working in bronze for about 10 years but I also make simple jewelry and paint, mostly abstract expressionism. Congrats on getting profiled! Love to see your stuff someday!
I hear you on keeping from being too busy. All my good habits fly away to parts unknown whenever I get overwhelmed. I’m also working on keeping up the self care and reducing the hustle. Looks like you’re maintaining pretty well though. Go
you!!
Hope your doing great!

Thanks Colette!
Wow Bronze!! Very impressive!
Yes, I’m not up too much, but I’m at the point I need to put a concerted effort into getting - and staying “in the 150’s”
Yes, busyness is quite the lil devil. Suddenly I didn’t want to spend the 1.5-1 hours walking outside. I was more stresses this less sleep, more food etc.
But I think today, after reflecting on all of it yesterday, I decided to really have my top priority be my food and steps. #HealthFirst
I told myself is never gain the weight back, so now’s the time to make that a priority.
As for my art, I’ve been a wannabe until January of this year when I invented a project that I am still continuing. I will share it with you when it’s done!
Then a week or so again, I developed a second project - also on-going. One is 2-D, and the other is 3-D.
So, I’ve only felt right calling myself an artist since January The 2nd project makes me feel like even more of one
So that was also why I didn’t want to track my food (but I still did) or exercise as much…I wanted more times for my art pieces.
But my food choices & exercise must come first. Good I learned this. So, I’m
Looking at how I spend my days - what I can make more efficient -so I can do my Health Habits AND my engrossing artwork
Have a great week!
Maddie🌸
PS it looks like we are both maintaining well. That’s a serious achievement that we should not lose sight of! 🎉🎉🎉0 -

However, I will weigh myself and record every day.

5/22 162.3. 162.2 I’m working on it.
Very high UK index & heat waves is making walking less appealing. Only averaging 1/2 the time or the steps as I was. Food is cleaner, but the lack of exercise doesn’t help. Very poor sleeping hasn’t helped either.
I’m taking it seriously. Food quality is excellent, working on sleep & exercise.
Congratulations again @colettebeers8501 !!

6/19/22 trend 162.6. Actual: 161.9
@colettebeers8501
Well, it turned out my reduced sleep was negatively impacting my exercise, my food, my stress levels
I’m working to gradually get (and stay) under 161 on the scale. Then I’ll abhor for 159.9.
Thanks to a MFP friend, I bought a sleep mask & my sleep is back to normal. I’m walking more/eating in a more managed way
How are things going for you? I hope you are off traveling & having a blast!

6/28/22 Decided my experiment did not work in 95-100 degree heat.
Got back to daily logging- still resented the time. Scale went to the brink of “overweight BMI” and I finally got my act together after a long slow creep up.
Realized I had let my volunteer jobs (mostly on-line) become stressors that I let crows out my recording my food & I let the heat knock out a lot of my walks.
So, I now immediately go for at least a one hour walk when I wake up & I top up my steps to 10K+ when the UV Index drops again in the evening.
I had been recording all I ate on paper in the kitchen, which worked great but I then hated having g to enter it all at night when tired so I went back to recording in app prior to eating.
Predictably the scale dropped today after the salty overeating of the day before.
BMI is now 24.8
Wt: 163.2
3.3 lbs to go
I plan to be 159.9 or lower on Aug 26, for my 4 year maintenance anniversary
I hate - and suck - at dieting. I will NOT gain my weight back. I will not fail.
