May Goals:
🌷 Continue to keep the house neat (I need to clean up post-travel. This place is a hot mess.) ✔
🌷 Push myself in my HIIT workouts (We have 2 benchmarks this month and I'd like to PR in both.) ✔
🌷 Carefully meal plan and prep
🌷 Read 5+ books 12+ books (I've already read 7 this month)
I got into the 242s earlier this week before my weight spiked due to water retention. Really pushed myself at the gym the last few days and I'm feeling it in terms of soreness. It's already starting to come back down, so while I'm bummed at my gain, it is what it is.6 -
Good morning everyone, I hope every mom had a great mothers day! Just wanted to stop in and say hello. Hope everyone is having a great day.

GW for 2022: to be determined
My name is Lori and I have been stumbling around for quite a while. 4 years ago I got down to 153 doing Keto (total carbs not net). At the time I loved it and said I would never go back 🤦🏻♀️ Well. Here I am. Back. I know Keto worked but I can’t wrap my head around losing weight that way again. My wish is to just be NORMAL. To eat normal. Not have my obsession with sweets!! I feel horrible and don’t want to get out of bed or do anything anymore. Nothing fits in the closet and I certainly don’t want to go shopping for clothes! I need the support y’all are giving and the kick in the drawers to move it move it.
Todays goal:
drink water (Any amount today)
Diet sun drop addiction here
Mindful eating and log it
I do not need dessert after every meal🙈
Move
(I got a Fitbit in November I’ve been wearing everyday and so far I’m been keeping up with my sleep cycles only)🙄

@justanotherloser007 - I'm so glad it's not cancer. The Big-C is always so scary. I also understand your reservations regarding surgery, given your post experiences. Have you talked through those concerns with a doctor? I imagine that there are more options available now than there were the last time you had surgery. But maybe you've already had those conversations.
I'm also so sorry to hear about your friend's husband. I hope you're able to be a comfort to her in this hard time.
@kenziestabes - I'm glad you're feeling better and are taking it slow re: getting back to "normal".
@CupcakeCrusoe - Yay for hanging out with friends and not feeling compelled to match them bite for bite! Glad you had a nice weekend.
@JAC581 - When I go out without any way to track, I log as many of the individual ingredients as I can and way overestimate sizes. So if I had a steak salad, I'd log the steak, the lettuce, the cheese, the strawberries, the whatever toppings, but go for a larger portion than I think I actually ate. This also helps cover the insane amount of oil and other crap restaurants use to make things "taste good". That said, sometimes it's nice to just have a meal without tracking anything at all, too!
Also, as someone with a large chest, I absolutely adore SheFit bras. They keep everything locked and loaded and really reduce bounce.
@rockitwell86 - yay for new dresses! I think I tried on every white dress in my city this weekend. I have a conference in July and white is required for one of the days. Trying to find something that will fit properly in 2 months instead of for right now and it's hard!
@JedsMom63 - welcome! For what it's worth, I have a very sweet tooth and I *do* have dessert after lunch and dinner. It's the only way weight loss is maintainable for me. I get single-serving ice cream cones from Trader Joes or fruit popsicles. Or I get single-serve treats like Unreal that are less sugar. But I eat them daily.

Hope all mom's had a great weekend. I did have a lot of fun with the kids so I didn't keep as well of records these past two days but I am happy with the loss. I am mostly happy that I am in the overweight category and no longer in the obese. Mind blowing that I was over 36BMI and under 29BMI now. Next stop, healthy BMI8 -
Hi 👋 I'm Danielle also Dani!
🌷 Start weight 239lbs
🌷Goal weight 140lbs
I'm 5ft2 so my weight is very obvious especially around my belly/hips😫.
I have 5 kids ranging from 15 years to nearly 2 years old. So hectic home, and I probably use it as an excuse not to eat better or exercise.
My mental health isn't the best, I haven't left the house in 12 years alone. My weight really brings me down, so then I eat alot because I tend to eat my emotions and then I feel bad again, so a viscious cycle!
This may I want to achieve
🌷 lose 3 lbs
🌷 Go out to the woods for a walk
🌷Tidy more
🌷Do pilates
🌷 Be kinder to myself
Hopefully I wrote this out right, I wasn't sure what to put.9 -

Hi Dani! Welcome! I think your May goals sound pretty healthy and realistic. I think the most important one is being kinder to yourself. Without that, everything else will feel more like a chore and harder to achieve. When you speak kindly to yourself and treat your body with respect, everything else will come more naturally. I started back on here three weeks ago, and I was bashing myself horribly. I noticed it stopped after my first week back. It's been helpful being a part of this forum and making active friends on here. Feel free to shoot me a friend request!6 -
Hi everyone, I'm Erin! I posted in this group once or twice when i was pregnant with my 15 month old but am back again looking for motivation and accountability for myself and offer encouragement to you all.
I feel lately like my motivation for eating healthfully and exercising is AWOL. I'm a sahm of 5 and gosh, i don't like FEELING out of shape but somehow that's not enough to motivate me to get back into shape. I'm 220ish now and I'd love to be back to my *wedding weight* of 160 but I'd be content with 170/80 honestly. I'm going to track everything and try to make it easy, not too much mental work, but really be consistent.
Please friend me if you'd like some encouragement as well, I'm always good for "liking" my friends updates!

I expected way worse, I consumed A LOT of sodium and alcohol over the weekend. Plus, my biweekly TOM symptoms are in full swing again. I'm not even mad, it was worth it and kind of a celebration considering all of my testing came back awesome. Bloodwork and urinalysis were great, the ultrasound on my thyroid did show two nodules, but the doc says not to be concerned and we will do another ultrasound in 6 months to make sure there are no changes with them. The doc did suggest I increase my calories, especially since I'm increasing weight training and reducing cardio. The 1200 to 1400 was too large of a deficit.

@CupcakeCrusoe I'm glad you're back to seeing it drop. The dish sounds delicious.
@justanotherloser007 so, so close to Onederland!
@biohazardinc Thank you, I wish you the best.
@Cluelessmama1979 I am so close, but remember I was in your shoes not so long ago and I know that feeling.
@Generic_Excuse I'm glad you enjoyed your girls night and yes, the sodium is a serious issue. Someone needs to open a sodium free restaurant and make millions! I also indulged in so much sodium this weekend that my toes felt swollen!
@KeriA Thank you, I hope I make it this May!3 -

Goals for May:
🍎 Keep eating 4-5 fruits and veggie servings per day, at least 5 days a week
🧘🏼♀️ Start Leslie Sansone workouts and work up to 8 minutes at a time by the end of the month (optimistic goal - apparently I can do 4-5 minutes okay)
💭 Start seeing new therapist -first appt is set for the 23rd
⬇️ Lose 6 pounds (but I’ll be happy with any loss)
🥳 Hopefully get myself some rewards that will help me continue to make healthier changes
I believe I got 4-5 fruits and veggies every day except yesterday. I did Leslie sansone for 4-5 minutes every day except on the weekend this past week. I ordered a Fitbit watch last night and it says the estimated arrival is Wednesday 🥳 I’m excited. I have had a Fitbit but this is my first Fitbit watch. It’s a great reward to celebrate passing 20 pounds lost this morning (21.2lbs total).4 -

4/1/22-156.4 lbs
5/1/22-158.8 lbs. :-( No way is this actual with all the Elliptical miles Friday, yesterday and stayed way under calories for what I was allotted. Hoping for a whoosh soon. Did Elliptical 300 minutes for 22.3 miles in first session and 54 minutes for 4.2 miles for 26.5 miles total today. Hopefully that gets me heading downward again. (Did long times on Friday 228 minutes and Saturday 240 minutes too.)
5/8/22-148 lbs :-) Glad for the whoosh of water retention from my OK trip.

Good morning everyone!
Tired. I'm ready to spend a weekend at home, haha. Weight this morning is 188 even! I like that!
It's so cold here. May, where are you?! I'm ready to go outside without coats again!
Not much to talk about, yesterday was Tuesday, but today is Tuesday too, etc. The thumb is taking its sweet time getting better, but it is getting better, so I'm babying it and not doing any weights until it's back. Let's get on with the tag party!
@rockitwell86 a good flowy dress is a total mood-booster. I love that.
@kenziestabes I'm glad to hear you're doing better, and that you intend to take it easy for a little longer.
@justanotherloser007 wow, that is a lot. I'm so sorry to hear about the nonstop itchiness as well as the near death experience, I can totally understand why you would be hesitant to get surgery after that. I hope that your doc can come up with a way that makes you feel safe to solve this.
It's so hard to console and grieve people you love in this scenario. Sending my best wishes.
@seltzer_lover gonna get that whoosh soon! 7 books already?! that's great!
@biohazardinc hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii how've you been?
@JedsMom63 Hi! Welcome to the best thread on MFP (in my humble opinion). The quest for everything in moderation is hard, but good for building those habits you'll need forever. It's not as though you won't be tempted with desserts and diet sun drop after you lose weight. So you just have to find the frequency that works for you to treat yourself to the things you want. Too much denial/restriction is just going to make you want to quit. Welcome!
@EDTake2 CONGRATULATIONS! Being in overweight BMI is great, well done! I'm a little jealous as a 5'4" girl, haha. I don't get that milestone until 173.
@danisb1987 Welcome! You're in good hands. Not leaving the house alone for years sounds incredibly stressful. I hope you find time to take that walk in the woods all by yourself this week, you deserve it.
@PansyLass13 I totally get the "feeling bad at this weight but resistant to change," especially when kids can keep you so busy. I hope you, too, get some time to yourself this week to maybe do some healthy meal prep, or start to research some healthier recipes, or even just to sit in quiet with a coffee (I get up at 4 in the morning just so I can have my coffee in peace, haha). I see you said "make logging easy," and one way to start doing that is to load in some of your favorite recipes in the recipes tab, or log them as normal and save them as meals. That way the food you make the most will already be logged in mfp, you might just have to adjust the portions. Again, welcome!
@_manny_702 I'm so glad to hear everything came back normal! 🎉🎉 That is worthy of celebration, so I'm glad you lived it up a little.
@bonniemcc4 Congratulations on 20 lbs! And a fitbit watch is a great reward! I think you'll find it really motivating, I remember I did.
@swimmom_1 it's not a real weight. If you spent a lot of time working out, it's likely water retained by your muscles.

@swimmom_1 oops, I didn't read your last entry properly, glad you got the whoosh!0

I feel like I'm not losing at fast as I have in the past, but then I look at my progress and realize I've lost 6 lbs. in 3 weeks (although most of it was that first week). In the past, I've averaged about 5 lbs. lost per month. I'm currently set at 1 lb. loss per week, so I'll just keep at it and be patient.
I'm feeling stretched pretty thin these days. I clock in to WFH usually between 7-8am these days because my body just doesn't want to sleep past 6:15am most days. I do my work while juggling household chores, and I have to do a deep clean today or tomorrow before people come to view my apartment. By 5pm, I'm too tired to clean most days so I try to clean and work at the same time. Luckily, work is pretty light a lot of days so I can get other stuff done as long as I check the computer regularly for questions.
I am working things out with my boyfriend. He's a good guy and very supportive of me emotionally, but dude needs to get some regular work, so over the weekend we made a new resume from scratch and he's going to a job fair today. I'm trying to be supportive because I know he's nervous and not very confident right now, but between that and my own stuff, I'm exhausted. We also want to move in together and most of the leases around here start in August, and he needs to get some pay stubs under his belt before we can both apply for a place. (I can't afford anything big enough for two people on my own.) I'm trying so hard not to worry about finding a place before they are all snatched up. My own lease is up in August and, in a pinch, I can stay with family for a bit, but I'd really rather it not come to that.
On top of all that, I'm trying to fit in walks whenever I can. I was absolutely dragging after work yesterday, but I made myself go for a 15-minute walk around the block just to get some sort of activity after sitting at my desk for 9.5 hours.
By the time I've worked, gone for a walk, and eaten dinner, I'm wiped out. I've been falling asleep around 8-8:30pm the last week or two. I can't wait for some of these things to lighten up in the next few weeks hopefully so I can get back to a semi-regular schedule.6 -
I am trying to tag party, but my legs are literally a red all marked up, totally bruised hive fest. I realize I am totally unfocused and I apologize. I definitely wish to welcome ALL newcomers and ALL come-backers.
@PansyLass13 "feeling bad at this weight but resistant to change," I feel ya on this, my first year I was so resistant to change I literally lost no weight. I once read a thread about a lady that was 160 lbs (I thought she looked great) she decided to work on her fitness and building muscle. She was literally crying for a month full of workouts!! I mean, we aren't the only ones resistant to change. That is why we are here supporting each other.
@EDTake2 Grats on the overweight BMI!!
@swimmom_1What size are you rocking these days?
@bonniemcc4 You are doing great, and the walking - that is awesome!
@_manny_702 Glad the bloodwork went great!!4 -
@justanotherloser007 and @CupcakeCrusoe I hope you both get the healing you need 💗2

Not much of a scale change in 4 months!
I have picked up on my walking and cycling.
Just need to religiously track….something to work on over the next few weeks.
Wishing you all happy scale numbers this month! 💪💪4 -
@justanotherloser007 I can fit in my old low rise bootcut jeans size 6. Can zip them up easily but not wearing them yet as my flabby stomach hangs over. Can't seem to get motivated to do situps and pushups to help that area tone up. So still wearing size 8 jeans. They are a bit loose and I'm sure if I had the same style I would be wearing a 6. I just don't want to buy smaller size things when I have so much in my closet(I have 0-6's) that I will be able to wear soon.I am wearing all the small tops I have. My work scrubs have been smalls since I started wearing them in February. But they are loose. I have some extra smalls in my closet but they aren't the correct color. Where I work for the last 1 1/2 years, the RN's have to wear maroon/wine. Old place I could wear any color!
@CupcakeCrusoe When I read your first comment I had to go back to check that I put water weight whoosh. I did, of course, and thought, "Oh well." Then I saw your next post. LOL! Easy to make a mistake. We're all human. Especially if your like me and trying to catch up on people's posts late in the evening!1 -

I am type 2 diabetic that is controlled with diet & exercise only. I got down to 195 lbs a while back and, unfortunately, put 50lbs back on. My goal for May is to get my fasting blood sugar back down so that I won't have to go onto medication.
Goal for each week:
walk at least 4 days a week
Zumba at least 2 days a week
Goal by end of month:
fasting blood glucose below 140 by month end (hopefully)

Well today I am thrown off since I found out that my 95 y.o. mother has tested positive for COVID 19 today and is symptomatic which isn’t good since she has CPOD and congestive heart failure. And we all met Sunday for mother’s day. At that time we had all tested negative and those of us who could had the 2nd booster, but not my Mom. Her retirement community scheduled their boosters next week. So although she didn’t get from us she may have given it to us. She had tested negative the day before and wasn’t symptomatic until after the gathering. My son and daughter-in-law had seen her the day before but they always wear N95 masks. When I called her this afternoon she said she felt better. I am going to get tested Friday morning. Since it was a 1 time exposure they said we don’t need to quarantine but should wear masks in public settings which I do anyway.
I am not being as rigid about my To-do-list today but I just went for a longer walk than usual. I felt good and it helps to clear my mind - even got a talk in with my son. As expected my weight has finally popped up a bit but this high is a lot lower than my last highs. I am hoping I will reach a new low later this week since I am sticking with my goals. I did meal plan yesterday but just don’t feel like going shopping today of all days with COVID rates going up and protective measures going down.8 -
Good morning everyone!
Got a drop in weight out of the blue, which was nice. 186.8. I mean, I've been doing what I'm supposed to do, just wasn't expecting this one.
Last night I made a greek rice bowl for my family, I had minimal rice, and today I'm making shrimp fried rice for my family, and I'll replace my rice with cauliflower rice, mostly. Might have a little rice in there.
Also last night, I made a plan with a friend of mine to do a beginner pole fitness class not this Saturday, but the next one. I've always wanted to try to do pole, and I'm excited about it.
It's hump day, I'm so looking forward to the weekend. It's still so cold here, unfair. And it's been gray the last several days, and I think it's supposed to rain this weekend.
Anyway, tag party!
@JAC581 I hate a time crunch like that. Mojo that everything works out in plenty of time. And hey- a 15 minute walk is better than no walk at all, so don't beat yourself up, because rest is important for weight loss, too. If you're too tired, you get hungrier.
@justanotherloser007 I'm so sorry you're going through this, it sounds terrible. ((hugs))
@77topcat Increasing activity is great! Once you start tracking well, you'll really start to see movement on that scale!
@swimmom_1Can't seem to get motivated to do situps and pushups to help that area tone up.
@pamperedlinny Hi Linda! Zumba is a blast, I love that for your exercise! Welcome!
@KeriA ((hugs)) that is a whole lot. I don't know if you're doing this, but if you are, please don't blame yourself for your mom getting COVID, you took all the precautions you possibly could. I do the same- wear a mask everywhere in public, don't go into high traffic areas during peak times, etc, so that I know I'm not increasing my daughter (who can't get vaccinated yet)'s risk. Mojo that your mom continues to improve, and that you stay testing negative. Sending my best wishes.
Have a great Wednesday, everyone!

Good morning!
My daughter finished her sports for the season so I told her she had to come to Zumba with me. She's 8 and just finished soccer while planning to do basketball in the winter. I informed her this was a great way for her to keep her fitness level up between sports. She seemed to have fun and taking her with me means she can help keep me accountable to go.
@CupcakeCrusoe unexpected drop in weight is always such a great surprise!
@KeriA I hope your mom is ok. I'm so sorry you're going through that.6 -
Good morning! Off cycle check in here, but I just wanted to share that I am finally in the "overweight " BMI category! Started July 2021 in class 3 obese. Feeling fantastic and can't stop checking myself out, lol. When I started I was a size 35 (US 18/20) in jeans, and though it took nearly 50 lbs before I dropped that first size, I am definitely seeing them drop faster now, and fit into a size 31 (US 12/14 depending on brand). I am so, so happy I found MFP, and this group in particular. And can I say how weirdly happy it makes me to see most of my numbers yellow or green instead of red (only 1 red left). Next goal: ONEderland!

I had 4 cesareans over the time span of 6 years, the first 3 being each only a little over a year apart from each other. My last was in 2016. I've known that my stomach muscles were weak, barely there, and my back muscles have been taking on more than their fair share. But yesterday I realized just how bad it is. I tired Pilates for the first time in 12 years... So painful. Not only was I yelling at the TV but I felt so weak and deterred. It was my foolishness thinking because I used to & could imagine myself doing it again it was just going to be that easy. After I got done scolding myself for letting myself be in this situation I decided... I'm adding getting through the whole damn Pilates video to my goals. I don't know if it'll happen this month, next, or July even but I will get through that whole stupid video without cursing the instructor & doing the whole thing without breaks. I will find these damn abdominal muscles and I will make them work again!!!8

Good morning everyone!
Weight 187.0 this morning.
I'm having such a hard time recognizing being in the 180s again, and I don't know why. I feel like I'm going to pop back into the 190s at any moment, even though my trend weight is firmly 189.
I've been at this range of weight many times in my life. But I feel like I'm bigger than what the scale says, and I'm still wearing all the clothes I was wearing when I was bigger. Except for at my highest weight, when I wore 13/14 jeans (yes, I wore junior size to cling to the size below), and when I lost weight and briefly fit into 6s and 8s, I've always been 10/12, and I still am. Of course, all my pants have a lot of stretch, so they can conform to me either way.
Maybe it's time to pull down my like, one pair of 8s and start trying them on every so often, haha.
In better news, due to my logging everything, even "stolen" hershey kisses from easter, MacroFactor is realizing I lose weight on like, 1700 calories a day, and has adjusted my expenditure to 2168 (and it could still increase), which is more in line with the other calculations I've done.
It's also just really nice to finally have it drilled into my head that yeah, you can have more than 1500/1600 and the world's not ending. I had to go through the same a long time ago about 1200, now going through it with 1500. And it's all about logging everything so I know what I'm doing. That's all. Finding out I can have more food than I realized and still lose weight is beautiful.
Anyway! Tag party!
@pamperedlinny aww, I love the idea of going to zumba with your kid! That's so nice.
@lmgoff232 yesss 🎉🎉🎉 congratulations! Onederland will be yours soon! And what is that app you've got there, inquiring minds want to know. 👀
@Generic_Excuse Patience with yourself is key, so I'm glad you've taken the stance that it might take a little while longer than you'd like. There are some good exercises in here, and although it's written for people closer to post-c-section, the exercises would probably help you, too-especially things like the posterior lift and heel slides: ETA: this one first: postpartumtrainer.com/diastasis-recti-exercises/ then this one, probably: postpartumtrainer.com/a-simple-post-c-section-workout-plan-for-busy-moms/ I've been through it, and so I know that you've got this.
Have a great Thursday, everyone!

@CupcakeCrusoe thanks! I'll for sure check those out. I'm definitely trying to be patient for sure. Funny how wallowing in self deprication can be easier than motivating yourself sometimes. I just got to keep the right mine set.2

Hey everyone! So sorry for the radio silence. It has been a very active week at work and at home. Yesterday was my birthday too. I behaved very well and didn't go over my calories. It was nice to go out even with 2 crazy kids. For my birthday my husband bought me a new bike from a sport store. The one I had was from the clearance section in Walmart. I'm so happy! I also saw a drop down in my weight yesterday so I guess that was a gift to myself. The only dent in the day was the half day at work with conflict with someone that I just can't seem to get along with. I hate being unlinked by people which I suppose is very vain of me because no everyone can like you but I hate knowing it.
I would tag you all but I am so behind so I will try to assimilate into the current conversation on this page.
@CupcakeCrusoe I can't wait to get down to your weight. (You mind pausing your progress so I can catch up ) haha. I know that fear though. I felt really good when I was at my lower weights and I lost it very quickly it hurt. But that was my own fault and I know that I can't just eat whatever I want and however munch and not be active and not have that happen. It didn't help having 2 kids one with excessive amniotic fluid.
@Generic_Excuse I never had c-sections but I did have abdominal surgery and I know that it does a number on your muscles. I can't even fathom 4. I hope things get better with that. I've been using an excervise bike regularly since January and my muscles still hurt after the same amount of time. Makes me feel like I'm not making progress but hopefully I'm making more then I can see.
@lmgoff232 You have a renpho scale too! I just got under the 210's weighting in at 209.2! I can't wait to get to the Onelander with you!
@pamperedlinny I've always wanted to try Zumba but idk if I have the stamina for it plus not even sure where to go for it!
@KeriA I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I hope that her recovery is speedy.

@CupcakeCrusoe It is the app that came with my Renpho smartscale. I know that the accuracy on any of the measurements other than weight are not the most accurate, but the overall trend is helpful. I am liking your descriptions of MacroFactor more and more; I really like the idea that it seems to learn you. I may be checking it out!
@biohazardinc Happy Birthday! That drop under 210 definitely gave me a boost over motivation, because Onederland seems so, so close!
@Generic_Excuse I also had a disconnect between what I thought I was capable of when starting back exercise and what my body was actually capable of. I had to dial it way back, and just added a little more each week. Listen to your body & you will get there!1
