Good Wednesday!
Last load of laundry in dryer. Rest of laundry folded and put away. Dishwasher emptied.
Heather UK High five to your husband for at least looking up information. My DH gets that way when he isn't feeling his best too.
I hit over 10,000 steps yesterday! I average around 6K so was pleased.
"Life is not a dress rehearsal" so true! Life just moves so fast! It doesn't seem that long ago that my oldest Granddaughter was a sweet little girl. She graduates HS in less than two weeks. Where did the time go?
This is her last Saturday for prom.
Time to get some work done.

5 more days and off fly Ella and I. "to do" list is getting shorter". Betsy in NW WA. (and soon to be in NW AK)Lisa what kind of heat shielding fabric do you use in your hot pads? Barbara AHMOD
Kylia - Your granddaughter's dress is absolutely stunning, and she's such a pretty girl... So pleased to see you posting, and also glad that the "Done" list is helping. I'm up to two weeks of it now, and it is genuinely helping me remember how much I do instead of dismissing all my tasks with blanket terms like "housework" and "yard work." Another plus for the "Done" list for my increasingly leaky brain is it serves as a reminder for my battered memory. One more thing, with a to-do list, I am never, ever finished; there are always a few tasks that I haven't done moved over to the next list. To-do lists cause stress. "Done" lists relieve stress. So good to see you!'Many people are addicted to lives they don't even like'
Later, y'all,
Love,

Hello again!
The other thing that is just so incredibly annoying about my husband is that he's lost eight pounds in the last two weeks, just by switching to light beer with fewer calories. Makes me want to cry to the heavens, "It's not fair!" But then again, what is?
I'm coming on the thread so late because I didn't get to bed until midnight. Dinner got stuck, but I didn't know until three hours later when I took my first night-time medication with water. Three hours, a cup of tea and innumerable trips to the bathroom later, the blockage was finally resolved. I haven't had an issue with food getting stuck in more than a year! Still not sure why this one did.
Not-That-Quick Bio:For those who don't know, I had gastric bypass 17 years ago.
When food gets stuck it means that either a) I wasn't paying attention and didn't chew well enough, or b) I didn't get up and move around to make things keep moving, or c) some other thing, such as soft bread, which seems to stick to each other and form a blockage. Pasta often sticks, too, and I have no idea why.
I weighed 303 pounds when I had the surgery, dropped down to 137, and looked and felt like a completely different person. Left my husband in Illinois and headed for my sister's in West Texas. Within less than a week, I had a job and met Corey on my first day. Married him a year later. After I married him 13 years ago, I got happy and started adding weight back on--and I got up as high as 219. This morning I'm at 172, which makes me happy - I'm shooting to get down to 155, but I've got time, I hope.
The last few years have been pretty rough, but I finally got a diagnosis of ulcerative colitis in November. After a couple tries at other medications, the gastroenterologist finally prescribed Humira, just started a month ago. A lot of the more recent weight loss has been because of the colitis, before it came under control. Love the loss, but don't like the reason. The Humira is definitely helping.
Typed more than I meant to! Hope your Wednesdays are or were wonderful!
Love y'all,

Good morning ladies!
It's a beautiful spring day here and that means full of pollen. I am sniffling my way through.
Adriene has a video for yoga with sensitive knees so that's on the agenda today. Plus walking. And I really need to edit a story my friend sent me two weeks ago.
And I need to stay away from candy and cookies. I get more motivated when weigh-in day is closer, like day after tomorrow. I wonder if weighing twice a week would help me keep my priorities straight.
And I bought a bright red top from Amazon especially for first dates. It has a vee neckline, but I won't know how deep it goes until I try it on. Such a gamble. But the local stores seem to specialize in drab work wear. This is really cute - I hope it fits.
Have a great day!

Miles and I are hanging out and When Tracy gets home.. i have to home and shake in my boots, because I have my first dental appointment in over 2 yrs..i know i will need work..I don't have dental insurance and with the meds im on i know they have done damage..I worked at a dental office for 14 yrs and was a dental assistant for alot of those years.. so i know the ropes.. going to a new office is scary enough.. but poking in my mouth with sharp instruments when i know there is trouble will be no joke
Wish me luck..6 -

Allie hope your dental visit goes okay. Try to relax, and do a mind exercise like designing a beach resort in your head. One that takes dogs!
I did my yoga for sensitive knees. There was a lot about activating certain muscles and relaxing others. I don't have the hang of it yet.
I'm not thrilled with the stevia stuff I bought. There's a bitter aftertaste and not that much sweetness. Oh well.
Annie in Delaware2 -
Tracy should be home in 15 min or so.. Miles I think will be cutting a tooth or 2 quick.very cranky and has slept most of the morning...
Will let Tracy know.3 -
Worked, bowling this afternoon and then ceramics tonight
Sue WA - fingers crossed for you all
Washed the blanket we had on our bed. *I want to fold it up and put it away for the summer. Vince wants to put it back on the bed. Who knows what’ll happen? It’ll probably go back on the bed since something like that isn’t worth arguing over
kylia – so glad to see you again
We have the standard cable, but not Netflix or any of that type of channel. I, too, barely have time to watch the shows that I’ve DVR’d
Allie – good thoughts being sent to you for your dentist appt
Annie DE – I don’t care for stevia, either, for the same reasons as you. To me, it’s a bit on the bitter side.

Kylia--Glad to see you post, been thinking of you. I have also started the "Done" list and it helps to know that I am getting somethings done. Very pretty DGD and her dress. Yes, they grow up so fast.
Allie--Wishing you Good Luck at the dentist.
Well my meeting yesterday was postphoned. Didn't tell several of us until we were there. To say I was upset is putting it lightly. The one this morning with the new CEO of our division was interesting I guess. Makes me wonder about someone who does not look you in the eye, but all around the room. Time will tell and he doesn't effect my job for the most part.

Doctor tomorrow for bloodwork review from a week ago (not allergy nightmare). I suspect bad review as I’ve not been eating right and putting weight on. DH goes at same time, only way I can get him to go. I know his checkup will reflect excessive beer and smoking. Someday someone or something will get through to him.
So I’m starting to log everything, even things that put me over calories to visualize what I’m doing that I shouldn’t and try to fix it. With my attitude lately, not sure how many changes I can make but logging is step 1. It takes on step at a time to complete a journey.

Knee was really achy after casserole-a-thon, Pastor’s wife saw me have to lift my leg into the car and commented. Managed to drag my achin’ knees down the drive to the powerline with the pooches, but then crapped out and had a nap after. Thinkin’ maybe either I overdid after PT or PT was more intense than it felt. Will ask therapist at tomorrow’s appt.
Annie Heather and Machka give good advice. Glad to hear you have seen a PT. Seven years was awhile ago, might be time for a re-check?
Heather my PT has me doing (hip hingeing) “sit to stands” instead of squats; step downs (similar to your standing on one leg and raising up, but instead standing on one leg on a stair and bending knee to lower other foot toward the next lower tread) ; and strap assisted supine quad stretches (instead of bridges). Thanks for the clamshell and side raise reminder, need to pre-emptively add those. Yours is an inspiring story. Enjoy your picnic/music event. Wow, what a wisteria!
Debbie sorry to hear your mother’s home is the scene of so much drama.
Tina could you describe the quad and twisted quad raises?
Michele you found exercise DVDs you didn’t already have? Amazing! the “5 foot rule”
Ginny, never thought of lunging on a Bosu ball, thanks!
Tracey sad and frustrating about your coworker and boss. While your coworker may not have said exactly that, she did complain to your boss. :smh: As for Rodger’s erratic behavior, ((hugs)) Personally I’d have trust issues if Joe locked his phone from me. My phone and laptop are not locked and passwords are in the “Just in case” binder. “April is procrastination awareness month” made me laugh out loud!
Julie good luck for the appointment. That is strange about eating chocolate to artificially boost wbc before sampling.
Brava for 21 g protein at breakfast!
Viv I’m with your mum, my eyes are always closed, and my head is turned away just in case… 20K steps, well done!
Vicki hooray for the good news from the Dr!
Allie you must have nerves of steel in addition to your incredibly great heart.
Barbie Great example of understanding and equanimity in the face of hurtful comments.
Rita quick wit!
Weclome @chuckees130! Would you tell us what you’d like to be called and your general locale?
Katla I wouldn’t want to drive a strange, loaner car when I was tired either. Hope you were able to postpone.
Kylia so glad to see your smiling face. (((hugs held extra long))) for the rough couple of months.
There. Caught up for the moment. Time to try to get some steps in.

Well, our date evening was a wash out. Windy, grey, spits if rain, so we decided not to go out to the music. Of course, 15 mins after the event started, the sun came out! Oh well. It would have been breezy on the front. We enjoyed staying at home with falafel, hummus, pitta and salad.
Our Zoom with my girlfriends didn't come off for technical reasons, so we switched to WhatsApp video. Worked fine. P has been exposed to covid and her absent husband has prostate cancer. He will probably be coming home to live. G fell over and bruised her knee. B was gallivanting somewhere and could not attend. Nice to see the remaining two.
I sent the first chapter (the intro) of WHERE AM I? to my friend L. Of course, she is a huge fan, but it was nice to hear her ecstatic response.
KJ , thanks for the likes on Instagram. It all helps with the algorithms.
I'm very nervous about this new book, but I'm ploughing on.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx4 -

They specifically strengthen the muscles around the knee to support it. I started doing them in my 20s when I did Denise Austin's workouts.
Quad leg raises: Sit on the floor or a chair, hands behind or grabbing the sides of the chair for support. You can lie on your back too, if that is more comfortable.
Flex foot, with leg straight, lift one leg at a time with kneecap facing the ceiling. It's a small movement, but very effective.
The other one is the same, but you point the toe and twist it so the toe is pointing away from you and lift. It gets more the inside of the knee.
Photos in spoiler:
I do 2-3 sets of 25-30 reps at a time.
Move your leg up and down.
I don't use the arm movement like she is doing below. I just put both hands on the ground so I can focus on the leg movement. You can see her toe pointed away from her.

Julie VERY well begun!
Heather so hard to deal with stubbornly healthcare-resistant husbands. Hope he found some stretches that help rather than irritate the underlying condition.
Kylia wow, that stunner didn’t fall far from her grandma’s tree…
Lisa thanks for the “Bosal Polytherm Heat-Reflective Fleece” sounds like exactly what I wanted!
Oh Allie, wishing you the very best of luck at the “house of pain.”
Annie I’m with you on the Stevia. Never have found a fake sugar whose taste I could tolerate. Doesn’t mean I do with out, even though I should.
Rita you are right, honestly logging IS step #1. Hope the MD visit goes well for you both.
Belinda in VA welcome! Sorry didn’t mean to press you for too many private details, posting last name on internet can be scary.
Tina thanks for the quad lifts. PT had me do the sitting straight ones today. 25-30 reps? WOW!
Welcome @supersueg2003 Sue from Missouri!
Just poppin’ in with yesterday’s accountability.

Karen in VA ... I came across these today. You had asked. Looking at them now, they're rather amateurish.I did not do the second from the left.5

Heather - When we take our car for service it is 25+ miles to get there. I sometimes have to wait quite a while for the work to be done. The service needed this time is likely to take a day or two.
The challenge is getting there and back. They may have a loaner car. Keeping my fingers crossed for a good way to get the car when it is done.2 -

Beth ~ Love your drawings. Very talented.
Katla ~ Hope you are able to get to the car repair shop and back with no problems.
Kylia ~ I find myself doing a mental list of all I have accomplished each day. It may not be much, but, it makes me feel better.
Went to lunch with two old friends yesterday and it was good to get out!
Welcome to new visitors!

Lee has also lost some weight and I think we changed toothpaste.... Men are quite annoying!
Eek, glad you got unstuck. Once when I made what I thought was the best salad ever, I had the worst blockage ever! I think I lamaze' breathed and everything! Just fyi mixing edamani, artichoke hearts, pasta salad, a can of diced chicken, plus broccoli slaw is way too much protein! (for me).
I'm glad you found Corey.💖👍
