Welcome new members! This is your safe haven, to vent, get inspiration, and sing your praises. No politics or religion though.👍😁
Today was my yearly doctor appointment. She said my bloodwork lab numbers were all normal. I will get my 1st in the 2 dose shingles shot next week, as well as go to radiology for a walk in mammogram. I have a referral for an eye appointment too. She said I looked healthy, my blood pressure was 126/80. So really nothing to report. I didn't get any sleep aids as I shall do some proactive things first:
-No tablet after 6 pm.
-No coffee past 6 pm.
-Sip some sleepy time at 8 pm.
-Look into buying those Hyland's sleep tablets a homeopathic aide
So hopefully all those together will steer me toward dreamland.👍😴😴😴
Hugs ladies!

TODAY IS ATHENAS 3RD BIRTHDAY!
I sent her a video of goofy me.💖. I look so old, and my voice sounds like I'm 12, but that's my reality!

It's a beautiful spring day here and that means full of pollen. I am sniffling my way through.
Adriene has a video for yoga with sensitive knees so that's on the agenda today. Plus walking. And I really need to edit a story my friend sent me two weeks ago.
And I need to stay away from candy and cookies. I get more motivated when weigh-in day is closer, like day after tomorrow. I wonder if weighing twice a week would help me keep my priorities straight.
And I bought a bright red top from Amazon especially for first dates. It has a vee neckline, but I won't know how deep it goes until I try it on. Such a gamble. But the local stores seem to specialize in drab work wear. This is really cute - I hope it fits.
Have a great day!

I weigh every day.
And you're right about the drab wear.
Here we've got a choice between office black or The Great Depression blah.1 -

Went to ceramics and picked up my Smurfette. I’ll post a pic tomorrow of her and my alligator finished. Unfortunately, when she was fired she developed a crack. We have no idea how that happened. It wasn’t there when I painted her.
Sue – welcome! My FIL was from Doe Run, Missouri. Talk about small! He married MIL who was a “city girl” from the BIG town of Farmington….lol
Seriously, I don’t like ANY artificial sugar. To me, they all have an aftertaste. I’d rather have a little of the real stuff or nothing. And many times I have nothing.
Karen VA – wonderful pictures. I can’t draw a straight line with a ruler.
Pip – safe travels

We watch a lot of stuff on TV together. We are both retired so are home a lot. My husband has health issues that keep him home and sedentary. I like to watch TV with him while I ride my exercise bike. TV is our entertainment. We don't travel or go anywhere for recreation. We don't spend time or money on children or grandchildren or shopping. The cable bill has increased dramatically over the last three years and since we acquired Netflix and Amazon, we decided that we could find sufficient entertainment with streaming and eliminate the expensive cable channels. I have podcasts and audio books to listen to and Jake is happy listening to the baseball games on the radio.
What's fun for me may not be fun for other people and vice versa.

Hey! I went to the dentist today too, just for a cleaning. No xrays until November.

I don't recall where you are boarding, if you are heading north on I-5 from Eugene, wave to the west when you drive by Keizer Station. I live about three miles from there.
Have a great vacation!

Hi Barbie!
I'm new to the community portion but not My Fitness Pal. I've been on here about 9 years and it has really helped me on my journey. I've fallen off and gotten back on multiple times, this being one of them. I'm pretty much trying to surround myself with like-minded individuals on a similar journey.
Fresh starts are good, I've learned a little more about myself each time and fought harder.
This time around I'm seeking "active friends" hoping to find some here. Feel free to add me! We can motivate and encourage one another, possibly even swap a few recipes along the way.4 -
Welcome Cassie!
Went for my 5k run this morning because the day dawned gorgeously. DH came with me, as he is easing off his exercise regime a bit for the moment, because of his sacro-iliac strain. It was lovely to have him walking beside me as I shuffled along.
He took this photo of me on the beach, Saluting the Sea.
Getting on with my book. Cutting and pasting and editing. Ouff!
I'm now using Bluetooth earphones while I listen to my inspiring podcasts, so DH can't distantly overhear them. I am a whole floor away.
My friend P has covid. Caught from her daughter and granddaughter. I hope it will be mild as she is vulnerable.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Welcome, @Cassie_Cassie , @chuckees130 (Belinda from VA), and @supersueg2003 (Sue from MO), and apologies if I've missed anyone else. Glad you're here! Drop into any conversation you're interested in, and don't feel you have to respond to everyone - there are a lot of us and we're a very chatty bunch! If you're new to MFP, there's a bookmark at the top of the page, or you can simply bookmark this link from your web browser on your computer: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10863377/women-ages-50-for-may-2022#latest .
Cassie - For a number of us, this thread is our only interaction on MFP, so we don't necessarily reach out to make friends, active or otherwise. Just want you to know that you may not get a lot of friend requests. That said, advice, support, victories on the scale, NSVs, recipes, grandbaby pics, art pieces, and all the parts of our lives can be found here because we're in the process of changing (or maintaining) our lives as well as our weight. Barbie creates a new, clean thread each month, and we count each other as friends we haven't met yet (and some of us have met IRL, which is always thrilling).
Please let us know what you'd like us to call you, and a general location. Once more, welcome to all those new to this thread!
Regards,
Lisa in AR

Hello, my chickens... How are you this morning?
My word for this year was "recover," and it's definitely the right word. This morning, I sat on the side of the bed and wrote the alphabet with my toes. NSV! For far too long, I've woken up halfway to the bathroom, at a dead run.
Debating whether to go get gas and fill up the mower and finish mowing. Still got a couple acres left to mow, but really want to spend a day inside... but Corey really likes it when I mow, because he doesn't have to do it on the weekends. Still thinking about it.
Laundry's whooshing in the washer and a load of dark clothes in the dryer will soon be done. The now whooshing towels will go straight into a carrying basket and hung out on the line. It's supposed to be a sunny day... high of 91 degrees predicted. I'm nearly through my third and final cup of tea (decaf), then time for breakfast, and decide whether I want to work outside or in.
I'm such a princess sometimes - the main reason I don't want to mow is that I'll get dirty. *sigh* First world problems if there ever was.
Beth - love the drawings, especially the giraffes.
Heather - the sun salute is wonderful...
Later, y'all,
Love,

My life these days:
Work
Work
Work
Work
Work
Of mild interest, one of the tasks I took on at work recently was to be part of an interview panel. I've read through an abundance of applications, met with my other two panel members to shortlist the applicants, and today we started interviews.
I've never been on this side of the table before ... it's been an interesting process so far. Definitely a learning experience.

Mornin' newbies and vets. I'm really sorta strugglin' lately. Nothing major. Just in a funk. I'm reading everything. Love you all. Sending lots of love and prayers and welcomes.
I'm working my fingers (literally on the computer) to the bone. Getting all my submissions done before the end of the school year. Trying to get ready for ESY with no personnel to speak of. smh.
Had some major storms last night. We're fine, but lots of damage to the south of us and power just coming back on at Anne's place. That must have been interesting getting the kids ready for school this morning!
Carla, in MN7 -
Good morning ladies!
Carla one thing that helps me is to change my expectations like so: I used to wake up and tell myself I'm still sleepy it's going to be a tough day. Now I tell myself of course I'm sleepy, I need to open the shades, put on some music and have some tea. Then I will be fine today. Just a change in attitude that helped me.
I have horseback riding today yay!
This guy on OkCupid keeps me waiting a couple days for every message. On the one hand, it's something a scammer would never do, but on the other hand, it's truly annoying. Sigh. And he had a glorious full head of hair. I'm trying to keep my emotional distance. But at this rate I will have time to lose five pounds before we meet!
