I've been eating at a deficit and exercising regularly, for the past week, but my body has decided to hold on to every gram. The important thing is that the way is down, and so long as I stay consistent, I'm sure the weight will come off eventually. Maybe I won't hit my goal for the month exactly, but any loss is a gain at this point. Taking better care of my body is making me feel so much better overall, that I should be happy with that alone

My name is Donna. I am 62 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5β 5β tall.
Start Weight (from end of April, 2022 ): 203.2
Goal Weight: 198.2 (5 pound loss)
End of Challenge Weight: xxxxx
Ultimate Goal Weight: 145-155 (Iβll know it when I get there!)
May 01β¦..β¦..204.6 (Trend Weight: 202.5)β¦.. Wrong way!
May 03β¦..β¦..203.8(Trend Weight: 202.8)β¦.. Progress is good. I can do better. Lighter on the scale but my body feels heavier and bogged down. I have a lβ¦oβ¦nβ¦g way to go.
May 10β¦..β¦..203.2(Trend Weight: 202.5)β¦.. My 62nd Birthday! Not a very nice present on the scale this morning. Pretty good dietary choices yesterday which kept it under 1600 (my normal is under 1400). Moderate exercise. I had a big bump down, now a big jump right back up. I donβt always understand how this works for me but I do know that TMI is likely part of this equation today. Dinner out tonight with a friend and at a later time with my oldest daughter (maybe next week?)
May 17β¦..β¦..204.2(Trend Weight: 203.2)β¦.. So much travel this past week, and birthday celebrations. Got to turn this train around and try to get life back to normal soon!
May 24β¦..β¦..(Trend Weight: xxxxx)β¦..
May 31β¦..β¦..(Trend Weight: xxxxx)β¦..
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Still the right direction! Now I have to not assume it will continue this way and actually MAKE it continue this way!
This weekend I should have a lot of opportunities for both walking and silly food choices, so by Monday morning the scales may say something completely different.
My boyfriend has just decided to lose weight too, by eating very little compared to his size (which isnβt that big, heβs just a lot taller and more muscular than me). I donβt want to lose weight particularly fast, I want to lose slowly and keep it off, but part of me canβt help but be competitive! Hopefully I can use that urge to help me stay in a reasonable calorie deficit rather than letting his weight loss style influence mine too much.6 -
@Oishii
Stick to the slow and steady. You'll win the competition because at some point he will realize his approach is unsustainable. He will either quit or he will take your example and discover a good calorie balance that will cause weight loss and not loss of all energy.3 -

May 29:
May 31:
Current BMI = 38.16 Severely Obese. I hate my BMI description of Severely Obese. Previously when my BMI was 42.12, the Description was Very Severely (Morbidly) Obese.
There is no cartilage in both of my knees which is very painful when I walk. Life has become unbearable for me. My aim is to go for knee replacement operations.
However the surgeon will not operate if I weigh more than 100kg.
I have lost 11.7kg in the 52 days since I started again on March 31st 2022 with the program.
This means I still have 12.9kg to lose until I reach 100kg
If I can get down to 80kg, then maybe I will not need the operations!5 -
