I'm so sorry Pip, things happen, I know Kirby is sore at you, but you didn't do it on purpose! Know you're a bit fragile right now. Concentrate on your own self care, eat, drink, sleep and Kirby will come round. πππ

Oh wow Pip! Heal and rest. Big hugs.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx1 -
Thx for your patience. Iβm still not in the mood to talk about all that has happened. Hereβs what I sent to a friend that gives some explanation:
βNo fun, we we r home. I ruined another great event for kirby. We got to the ship ready to board and I didn't have my enhanced drivers license. That's what I needed to board the ship so I could get into Canada. I thought for sure that I had it. U can imagine how devastated I was when I realized I didn't have it. We drove almost straight through (back home)with the exception of two small breaks. No talking, he won't forgive me, I am beside myself with grief. I didn't eat anything except for the oatmeal I had with sue. Got home around 8am on the 14th, the next day, I. Didn't eat , on the morning of the 15th, I woke up and had some vertigo and I may have fainted cuz I woke up and kirby was helping me up. I think I broke my shoulder again (same left one) but in a different spot. Went to ER on the 17th Life is not good right now.β
He is talking to me now, things are better, I still feel like crap. Arm in a sling for two weeks no surgery. Break is on the same shoulder, itβs under where the plate I have.
Do you have someone from your family nearby to check on you?
Waiting 2 days to go to ER is a long time. I hope you weren't encouraged to just wait during that time.

Good morning ladies!
Pip, that's too bad. But it's only a human mistake. Hope your shoulder heals quickly.
I am going out to lunch today. I've been saving up extra calories, so I have 900 extra to spend. Yay! I feel rich!

A little bit about me ...
I'm Machka and I am in Tasmania, Australia. Some of my favourite hobbies/sports/activities include:
-- cycling
-- walking
-- hiking
-- running
-- gardening
-- reading
-- colouring
-- photography
-- working on my website
I bake, but don't cook, sew, knit, etc. And I don't bake much now because that would be dangerous!
Most of my day is spent working with health data and systems (which will continue for the next 6 weeks, then I move on to a different sort of data), working on a lengthy legal project in the evenings, and spending time with my husband (who suffered a severe traumatic brain injury 4 years ago) and our gorgeous black cat, Rhody.
My husband is not able to work anymore, so one of his main activities is gardening. He works at that at his own pace and we've got quite a lovely garden of flowers, fruit and veggies.
Rhody and me ...
I joined MFP in February 2015 and promptly lost 15 kg, took a 1-month break, then lost another 11 kg. By Christmas 2015, I was down to a weight I hadn't seen in quite a few years ... since my early 30s.
In 2016, 2017 and the early part of 2018 I maintained while increasing my cycling. My sport, within cycling, is ultradistance cycling: Audax, Randonneuring, 24-hour races, etc.
Here's me in 2016 in Brisbane, QLD a couple days after cycling a 300 km event in 18 hours including all breaks.
In late 2017 and early 2018, my husband and I were in great shape and feeling good. We were cycling events and on our own and building up the distances in the hopes of going to France in 2019 to ride the Paris-Brest-Paris 1200 km event. We met on a Paris-Brest-Paris in 2003, and the 2019 one was going to be a bit of an anniversary trip.
And then on March 22, 2018, my husband had a very bad accident at work ... and life changed. He was in a coma for 3 weeks and post traumatic amnesia for 7 weeks and in hospital for 100 days. Then, a year after the accident, he had a tonic clonic (grand mal) seizure which set him back. He'll never fully recover but he's doing better then they originally predicted.
He is cycling again but gets very tired so can't cycle consistently or for long distances.
Because cycling is something we've always done together, this means I'm not cycling the ultra long distances at this point either. In an attempt to boost my exercise we've set up a home gym, and I started dabbling in running. I hadn't run since I was in my late teens! We've just cleaned up the basement and reorganised the exercise equipment so we're set for winter. Now we just need to use it!
But over the past 4 years, all the time sitting at the hospital and dealing with the aspects of care for my husband, plus working, plus attending university (graduated with a Masters in 2020), plus changing jobs, has taken its toll on my weight and as you can see by the first picture, I don't look like the second picture above anymore!
I have maintained my weight for at least a year, but I'd really like to lose a bit. The difficulty for me is finding the time and energy.
So that's me in a rather large nutshell.

Good morning all! Happy Thursday!
Pip- I am so sorry! For your injury, for the "lost" trip, for the rough time with Kirby. As for the traveling snafu; I think it is really easy to misunderstand or "forget" which travel documents/enhancements you have because there are so many now. Be kind to yourself. Sending healing thoughts for all three "hurts".
Mary- Can you screen your potential renters? Ask for letters of recommendation or rental references from them? Then call the previous landlords? Maybe raise the security deposit? I think living close to your rental will give renters something to think about knowing that you could be stopping or even driving by at any time. I would keep it as a rental rather than sell.
Rita- Love the pics of you and your family. Always a good thing when family visits and it all goes well! lol
Barbie- Your Paperback Swap group is great! We still read those books that you sent us or had sent to us.
Boredom- I don't think I have been bored since my teen years. Like many of you, I learned not to use those words around my parents. Cleaning seemed to be the cure for boredom. lol I have so many things to do, housework, childcare planning, projects, volunteer stuff...there is no time to be bored. The extra hour to hour and a half that I have in the evenings are mine and I usually try to relax.
Wow! Denise Austin. That is a blast from the past! I had a couple of her workout videos when I was in my 20s. I didn't like her voice/energy back then. When the Susan Powter "Insanity" routines came out, I jumped all over that. Pretty sure I wouldn't be able to keep up with Susan P, now. lol Denise Austin's voice is not that irritating to me now, either. lol I would probably be hard pressed to keep up with her.
My new mattress pad came yesterday. It is a 2 1/2 inch latex/memory foam hybrid. It is also lavender infused. It has to "rest" for 48 hours before putting it on the bed. So...I could be getting a better night's sleep this weekend. Fingers crossed.
It is an overcast morning; but the sun is shining through the clouds. I love that kind of light in the morning. It makes everything look so sharp and vivid green. Ten kids today. New baby is settling in well. He is recovering from tongue tie procedure and we are dealing with his high palate; but he is a trooper and is adjusting to bottle feeding well. At three months, he still sleeps a lot, but seems to be awake while everyone else naps. Good-bye to my hour of quiet lunch. lol At least he is a pretty happy guy.
I better scoot. We are doing some water/plant study today. The kids were curious about what happens to flowers when it rains. So we will be getting some flowers wet to find out. (surface tension, plant mechanics) Love and hugs to all! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Today
Work
X-ray and Ultrasound of right foot - sounds like it's not a tendon thing
Husband's cardiology appointment - good news
Standing in the dark with cat
Relaxing a little bit
Legal stuff
Happily, I'm off work for the next 4 days.
This would suit me just fine. I might use this as inspiration for whenever I get to work on my home office.
