I've been eating at a deficit and exercising regularly, for the past week, but my body has decided to hold on to every gram. The important thing is that the way is down, and so long as I stay consistent, I'm sure the weight will come off eventually. Maybe I won't hit my goal for the month exactly, but any loss is a gain at this point. Taking better care of my body is making me feel so much better overall, that I should be happy with that alone :)

Stick to the slow and steady. You'll win the competition because at some point he will realize his approach is unsustainable. He will either quit or he will take your example and discover a good calorie balance that will cause weight loss and not loss of all energy.

Great result this week. I’ve been sticking with my plan but haven’t seen much change on the scales - now it’s suddenly dropped without changing my eating habits πŸ‘πŸ». I assume I was retaining water or something πŸ€ͺ
@bekijayne1 - it's known around MFP as "The Whoosh" - the mysterious loss of pounds off the scale seemingly overnight when all else remains the same. There is even an entire thread about this: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10522791/the-whoosh/p1
