Sometimes I get weeks of regret thinking of if I’d continued in the Royal Marines - with everything happening in the world, it seems to hit me more and more lately.
Left due to injury but still doesn’t make it any easier.
Seems to be hitting me like a ton of bricks at the moment.
(Referring to UK Marines not US)

I'm older than you--67, so I'll leave you with a few thoughts. First off, sometimes it's just time to move on. Regrets about the past are not productive. Then, I've noticed that when I look back on my life, things always happened for a reason. Something always came along to nudge me onto something else--usually better. Your injury could have been the catalyst. If you're not happy where you are now, start looking around for better. Evaluate as best you can. Good luck.

    Thanks for the kind comment;
I’m actually pretty happy with life overall (though maybe my comment didn’t come across that way).
It’s just the what-ifs that creep up sometimes!

But yes, I agree that things seem to happen for a reason and over time, paths change and we move on to new places.

I don't think these are regrets per se. I feel you're more thinking of what could have been a different path. As you said the "what-ifs".

As long as you don't wallow it's interesting and kind of fun to think about how different your life could be if you had done this or that. It's neat the paths we take and amazing how all our past experiences shape our current.

I'm going to be 40 soon. Most woman dread it but I'm kinda excited. I heard 40 is when you have the best time of your life 😏

First of all, you look like you’re in your early 30’s. You’re going to rock 40.
The 40’s were the best years for me. 50’s have been kicking my *kitten*. I’m fighting back tho. ❤️

You definitely are! Keep making that bombass Lemonade out of those lemons ❤

I am anticipating an extremely quiet day at work. Does MFP have any suggestions on how to spend 7ish hours in a pleasant, edifying, & somehow productive way within the confines of an office? Thanks in advance

Y’all ever use the facilities with the door open when there’s no one else at work? I think I missed the opportunity of a lifetime

I feel a little bad because I think I hurt her feelings by not being effusive. And I eventually convinced her that she needed to call another agency

I don't think so but I've kept it unlocked.

BUT...yesterday I made a pit stop at Trader Joe's on my evening walk and had to go to the bathroom. Normally, I just stop off across the street at the Circle K for evening diet coke but was craving egg salad for some reason so decided to see if TJ's had their egg white salad. (They didn't.)

I THOUGHT I turned the bolt in the bathroom but I guess I didn't cuz I was finishing up and this guy opened the door.

All he pretty much saw were my thighs and not very sexy undies. :)

He kept apologizing and I was, "Eh, I have no shame."

    After being startled, that is.

    Like repelling magnets.
That’s what the conversations with my ex have been like lately.
No matter what either one of us says, the other doesn’t quite agree and it gets tense.
Time to hang up, talk to you later!

Sometimes tour birthday is spent packing boxes cause you got a house as tour birthday gift!

But then you plan drinks with friends for a couple days later.....and have lots of cake to eat cause this is what your friends brought you

My ex’s bad attitude is having a really negative effect on our son.
Son works for his dad so he’s always around his lectures and complaining.
My son told me he was afraid he was becoming like his dad and it is effecting his relationship with his 9yr old son.
    Breaks my heart. 💔

At least your son recognizes this. Hopefully he can remedy things
